Clinton Head, 53
Funeral services for Clinton Glenn Head, 53, of Eros, were held April 30 at the Greater Apostolic Church with the Rev. Hudey Beaubouef officiating. Burial followed in the Chatham Cemetery.

Mr. Head died April 27 at St. Francis Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Head of Eros; mother, Lavada Worthington of Kinder; sons, Clayton Head of Eros and Daniel Head and wife Stephanie of Eros; brother, Larry Head of West Monroe; sisters, Jackie Keith of West Monroe and Linda Ramsey of Jonesboro; and five grandchildren.

Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Kirkham
Dwain Kirkham, 74
Funeral services for Dwain Kirkham, 74, of Quitman were held April 24 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ronnie Thompson, Gene Cumpton and J.D. Moss officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery.

Mr. Kirkham died April 22 at Lincoln General Hospital.

Born Aug. 12, 1928 in Bryceland, he was a retired pipe fitter from Stone Container and a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Jewel Kirkham; one brother, Earl Kirkham; and one sister, Eloise Denton.

He is survived by his wife, Lorane Kirkham of Quitman; daughters, Sheila K. Gaines and husband Dewayne of Quitman and Kathy K. Atkins and husband Shane of Clay; sister, Ellen Marsh of Quitman; brother, Winston Kirkham of Jonesboro; and grandchildren, Brad Gaines and wife Holly, Joshua Gaines and wife Amy, Matthew Atkins and Stephen Atkins.

Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Brad Gaines, Josh Gaines, Matt Atkins and Stephen Atkins; and Vernon Davidson.

Pallbearers were Eugene Hearne, David Aldy, Richard Cotton, Anthony Denton, Carl Atkins and Richard Johnson .

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Norred
Myrtle Norred, 82
Funeral services for Myrtle Goss Norred, 82, of Quitman were held April 27 at the Quitman Baptist Church with the Revs. Donald Rudd, C.C. Milstead and Andrew H. Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery.

Mrs. Norred died April 25 at Lincoln General Hospital.

Born Jan. 16, 1921 in Quitman, she was a member of the Quitman Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thelton Norred; and daughters, Mavis Norred Toms and Jessie Norred Durbin.

She is survived by daughters, Gloria Mobley and husband James of Quitman and Dianne Bell and husband Larry of Quitman; son, Eugene Norred of Quitman; grandchildren, Dawn Toms Leggitt and husband David of Lucky; Michelle Toms Fraley and husband Steven of Kingsport, Tenn., Stephen Norred and wife Tracie of Zachary, Jason Norred and wife Kristi of Gainsville, Fla., Brian Mobley and wife Sarah of Quitman, Mark Mobley of Quitman, Justin Bell of Quitman and Jared Bell of Quitman; precious great-grandchildren, Gavin Mobley of Quitman, Sydney Warren of Kingsport, Caden Fraley of Kingsport, and Elizabeth Norred of Gainsville; sister, Ruth Howard of Quitman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers were the deacons at the Quitman Baptist Church.

Pallbearers were Thomas M. Goss, Thomas Earl Goss, Clarence Goss, Danny Jo Goss, Johnny Goss and Jimmy Norred.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Schmidt
Charlotte Schmidt, 58
Funeral services for Charlotte Ann “Sue” Schmidt, 58, of Quitman were held April 25 at the St. Lucy Catholic Church with the Rev. Bob Leonhardt officiating. Mrs. Schmidt died April 23 at Pine Hill Nursing Center.

Born Dec. 1, 1944 in New Orleans, she was a housewife.

She is survived by her husband Johnny Mac Schmidt of Quitman; son, James David Schmidt and wife Tamelia of Quitman; daughter, Mona Elizabeth Terral and husband David Bryan of Hodge; mother, Pat Leeper of Baton Rouge; sister, Mary Ellen Leeper of Erwinville; and granchildren, Johnathan Schmidt, Christa Schmidt, Jacob Schmidt, Kyle Terral and Heather Terral.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society for Animals.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Walsworth
Willa Walsworth, 80
Funeral services for Willa Dean Walsworth, 80, of Denham Springs were held April 29 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with the Rev. Bill Staples officiating. Burial followed in the Zions Rest Cemetery.

Mrs. Walsworth died April 26 in Denham Springs after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by son, Reuben Walsworth of Denham Springs; daughter, Sally Jo Rouse and husband Bill of Denham Springs; sisters, Joteal Swanner and husband Joe W. of Jonesboro and Bonnie Lowe and husband Wayne of Jonesboro; grandson, Chris Rouse of Denham Springs; granddaughter, Kathleen Blackledge and husband Barry of Jackson ville; great-granddaughter, Katelyn Blackledge of Jackson ville; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Baumann
John Baumann, 60
Funeral services for John Raymond Baumann, 60, of Plano, Texas were held April 19 at the Turrentine- Jackson -Morrow Chapel with the Rev. Paul Freeman officiating. Burial followed in the Ridgeview Memorial Park.

Mr. Baumann died April 13 in Dallas.

Born Oct. 13, 1942 in Oberlin, Ohio, he married Donna L. Rohr on May 13, 1976 in Corpus Christi, Texas . He was president and co-owner of Southern Crane and Elevator Service in Plano and a branch office in Jonesboro. He also served in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his wife Donna Baumann; son, Bradley Rohr of Plano; daughter, Sonya Kluever of Houston; Parents, Menno and Mable Baumann of Morton, Ill.; and brother, David Baumann of Morton.

Funeral services were under the direction of Turrentine- Jackson -Morrow Funeral Home.

Fannin
John Fannin, 88
Funeral services for John Thomas Fannin, 88, of Winnfield were held April 10 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Winnfield with the Revs. Lamar Carpenter and Danny Keyes officiating. Burial followed in the Cypress Creek Cemetery near Dodson.

Mr. Fannin died April 8 in the Parkview Care Center in Winnfield.

Born in Winn Parish, the son of Frank and Lettie Chandler Fannin, he was a retired construction worker for Brown and Root, a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the Calvin First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Molly Ray Fannin of Winnfield; sons, Kelly R. Fannin and his wife Carol of Winnfield, James R. Fannin and his wife Kitty of Jonesboro and Johnny R. Fannin of Winnfield; daughter, Dorothy Jean Ferguson of Atlanta, La.; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Matt Fannin, Delain Fannin, Brent Fannin, Mike Turk, Charles Perow and Sammy Smith.

Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Fitzpatrick
Terry Fitzpatrick, 53
Funeral services for Terry Fitzpatrick Sr., 53. of Farmerville were held April 23 at 10 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Farmerville with the Revs. Bill Bearden and Brian Halley officiating. Burial followed in the Liberty Cemetery in Linville.

Mr. Fitzpatrick died April 20 in Farmerville.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, and he was preceded in death by his father, Lindsey Fitzpatrick.

He is survived by his wife, Becky BeDoit-Fitzpatrick of Farmerville; son, Terry Lynn Fitzpatrick Jr. and wife Susan of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter, Teresa Kersey and husband Melvin of Pensacola; parents, Bobby and Tracy Liles of Jonesboro; grandmother, Curtis Sanders of Jonesboro; sisters, Ginger Liles of Jonesboro and Vickie Hudman and husband David of New Boston, Texas ; one granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers were Robert Williams, Wesley Horton, Mel Rice, Johnny Williams, Steve Farrar and Jimmy Lowe.

Honorary pallbearers were the men of the Farmerville First Assembly of God Church.

Services were under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mathews
Samuel Mathews, 94
Funeral services for Samuel Monroe Mathews, 94, of Jonesboro were held at the Walnut Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Dark Jr. officiating.

Mr. Mathews died April 17 at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.

He worked in the timber industry.

He is survived by nieces and nephews, Mary Wall, Carolyn Jackson , John Mathews, Roy Mathews and Jerry Mathews; and cousins, Johnnie and Ray Cotton.

Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Parker
Barbara Parker, 80
Funeral services for Barbara Williams Parker, 80, of Jonesboro were held April 15 at the McDonald Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Mims officiating. Burial followed in the Midway Cemetery.

Mrs. Parker died April 12 in Jonesboro.

Born April 6, 1923 in Mills County, Texas , she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Parker was a resident of Winn Parish from 1955-1984, and had lived in Jonesboro for the last 19 years. She was a member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donis Parker; her father, Millard Edward Williams; brothers, Leo Williams and Grant Williams; and one sister, Laverne Williams.

She is survived by her son, Stanley Parker and wife Debbie of Jonesboro; daughter, Paula Parker Summers and husband Robert David of Charleston W. Va.; mother, Polly Irene Williams of Goldthwaite, Texas ; brothers, Joe Williams of Sweetwater, Texas and Jerry Williams of Copperas Cove, Texas ; sisters, Velda Blackburn of Goldthwaite, Texas and Juan Jones of Baytown, Texas ; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Rob Blackburn, David Chestnut, Ernie Lewter, Mark Parker, Parker Summers and Buddy Taylor .

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Stroud
Alma Stroud, 94
Graveside services for Alma Leola Stroud, 94, of Jonesboro were held April 19 at the Garden of Memories with the Rev. Rodger Dale Patterson officiating. Mrs. Stroud died April 18 at Forest Haven Nursing Home.

Born Oct. 18, 1908 in Sikes, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters, Eunice Browder Fonville and husband Thomas M. of Blanchard and Clavis Palmer Lodge of Bellaire, Texas ; brother, Horace McCarty and wife Johnnie of Jonesboro; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
