Neoma Buckelew, 59
Funeral services for Neoma Jo Buckelew, 59, of Jonesboro were held Nov. 17 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Loy Gaar and Bob Buckelew officiating. Burial followed in the Gayla Traina Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Buckelew, a homemaker, died Nov. 14 at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur following a brief illness. Visitation was held Nov. 16 at Southern Funeral Home.
Mrs. Buckelew is survived by her husband, Jimmy Buckelew of Jonesboro; three sons, Tim Buckelew and wife Pam of Quitman, Todd Causey of Jonesboro and Tony Buckelew and wife Pam of Sulphur; one daughter, Misti Austin and husband Robert of Saline; three sisters, Bessie Quarles and husband Dicky and Elaine Carmichael, both of Jonesboro, and Mickey Knotts and husband Mack of Oregon; one aunt, Aline Causey of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Morgan Buckelew, Tanner Buckelew, Kaleb Causey, Harley Buckelew, Logan Buckelew and Payton Austin; special friend, Marsha Allen of Gansville. Her parents, Walter and Bertha Causey, and two brothers, Marvin Ray Prine and Charles Lee Prine, preceded her in death.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Gray
Joseph Gray, 56
Funeral services for Joseph Gray, 56, of Calhoun were held Oct. 11 at Young’s Chapel C.M.E. Church in Calhoun with the Rev. Elmer T. Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Young’s Chapel C.M.E. Cemetery.
Mr. Gray died Oct. 3.Born Oct. 15, 1947 in Calhoun, he attended schools in Jackson Parish and graduated from Jackson High School in May of 1965. He attended Grambling State University in the fall of 1965, leaving to join the United States Air Force in January 1966. He received an honorary discharge in 1972.He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lillie B. Gray and one brother, Roberta L. Gray.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Gray; sons, Keith Gray and wife Doreen of Reseda, Calif., Tony Gray of Hodge, Corey Gray of Chicago Heights, Ill., Rickey Gray of Riverdale, Ill. and Joseph Conley Gray of Park Forest, Ill.; daughters, Tameka Baker of Minneapolis, Minn. and Bridgette Gray of University Park, Ill.; stepdaughters, TreShonda Conley of Minneapolis and Revonda Baker of Minneapolis; sisters, Helen Sengleton of West Monroe, Verna Gray of Chicago and Charity Caldwell of Detroit; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Honorary pallbearers were the Jackson High School Class of 1965, sons and grandsons, Belt Railway employees, Eddie Thomas and Donald Thomas.
Pallbearers were Billy Ray Moss, T.W. Atkinson, Prentis Rogers, Lonnie Gray, Henry Love, Marvin Belton, Henry Caldwell and Nathaniel Stafford.
Services were under the direction of Hester’s Central State Funeral Home in Monroe and Precious Memories Funeral Home in Chicago.

Hodnett
Willa Hodnett, 81
Funeral services for Willa Dean Hodnett, 81, of Jonesboro were held Nov. 17 at the Zion’s Rest Cemetery with the Elder Jesse Stripland officiating.
Mrs. Hodnett died Nov. 15 at the Jackson Parish Hospital.
Born Sept. 2, 1922 in Coushatta, she was a housewife.
Mrs. Hodnett was preceded in death by her husband, L.M. Hodnett; and one son, Kenneth Hodnett.
She is survived by one son, Jimmy Wayne Hodnett and wife LeAnn of Wagoner, Okla.; sisters, Mary Edwards of Farmerville and Tommy Tidwell of Hall Summit; daughter-in-law, Linda Hodnett Williams of Weston; eight grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.
Funeral services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Jimmerson
William Jimmerson, 82
Funeral services for William David “Dub” Jimmerson, 82, of Jonesboro were held Nov. 12 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Elton Gunter and Dr. Matthew Wohlfarth officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories.
Mr. Jimmerson died Nov. 10 at his home.
Born Sept. 27, 1921 in Jonesboro, he was a machinist. He also served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Jimmerson of Jonesboro; daughters, Doris Smith of Jonesboro, Brenda Baker-Williams of Gibsland, Marilyn Kees of Bienville and Syble Crump and husband Jay of Jonesboro; son, Roy Kees and wife Pixie of Ruston; sisters, Effie Sowers of Sunnyside, Wash. and Kristine Smith of Arcadia; brothers, Floyd Jimmerson of Arcadia and Terrill Jimmerson of Heflin; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Donald Robinson, Ricky Robinson Jr., Bradley Robinson, Wes Smith, Eric Smith and Larry Anderson.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Stephens
Linda Stephens, 57
Funeral services for Linda Faye Stephens, 57, of Jonesboro were held Nov. 19 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Staples officiating. Burial followed in the Gayla Traina Cemetery.
Mrs. Stephens died Nov. 16 at the Tri Ward General Hospital.
Born Jan. 22, 1946 in Hodge, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Stephens of Jonesboro; sons, Michael Rison and wife Kim of Dubach, Roy Rison and wife Kim of Rocky Branch and Billy Rison of Jonesboro; brothers, Gary Harper of Dallas and Robert Harper of Baton Rouge; sister, Judy Diaz of Shreveport; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bruce Jones, Ben Clifton, David Neatherland, Brad Rison, Kenneth Elkins and Dale Golden.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Long
Jan Long, 70
Funeral services for Jan Morrow Long, 70, of Jonesboro were held Nov. 11 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joey Bignar officiating. Burial followed in the Hodge Cemetery.
Mrs. Long died Nov. 9 at the Jackson Parish Hospital.
Born, Jan. 4, 1933 in Hodge, she was a homemaker and a member of Centerpoint Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kelcy and Dollie Smith; and husbands, Billy Morrow and Marvin Long.
Mrs. Long is survived by daughters, Kelly Staples and husband Tim of Weston and Angie Copeland and husband Steve of Ruston; brother, Don Smith and wife Elsie of Lady Lake, Fla.; five grandchildren, Josh Staples, Jessica Staples, Jordan Staples, Caleb Copeland and Kelci Copeland; and special friend, Detryoce Moffett of Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were Bobby Joe Folks, Verlon Rowe, Jerry Rowe, Jack Bond, A.C. Ledford and Ronnie Madere.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Taylor
Wayne Taylor , 82
Funeral services for Wayne Wardell Taylor , 82, of Dodson were held Nov. 9 at the Siloam Springs Church in Gansville with the Revs. Charles Hammons and Ronnie Taylor officiating. Burial followed in the Gansville Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor died Nov. 7 at the V.A. Medical Center in Pineville.
He was a long-time member and deacon of the Siloam Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Coleman Taylor and Mattie Burnum Taylor .
He is survived by his wife, Janis L. Taylor of Dodson; daughters, Joy T. Shively and husband Simon of Shreveport, Barbara T. Bryan and husband William of Monroe and Rita T. Caskey and husband David of Dodson; sons, Kenneth W. Taylor of Dodson, George E. Taylor and wife Pamela of Fayettville, Ga. and buddy W. Taylor and wife Dianne of Dodson; brother, Travis Taylor and wife Gladys of Winnfield; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were Lynn Taylor , Jim Tinsley and David Caskey.
Pallbearers were Larry Wayne Taylor , William Griffin Taylor , Jonathan David Taylor , Joel Everett Taylor , Christopher Michael Taylor and Daniel Glenn Caskey. Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Beaubouef
Rachel Beaubouef
Services for Rachel Ann Beabouef were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24 at Weston Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Dark Jr., Willie Beaubouef and Wayne Dunn officiating. Burial was in the Henson Cemetery near Chatham under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beaubouef died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 at Jackson Parish Hospital in Jonesboro. Visitation was held 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 at Southern Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beaubouef was a homemaker and a member of Weston Baptist Church.
Mrs. Beaubouef was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Burlene Smith; sister, Dorothy Lee Horton; and brother, G.W. Smith.
Mrs. Beaubouef is survived by her husband, the Rev. Hudey Beaubouef; son, Colin Beaubouef and wife Dana, all of Jonesboro; brothers, J.C. Black of Fruitvale, Texas , Lonnie Black of Farmerville, Charlie Smith and wife Pat of Ruston, Joey Smith of Jonesboro; sisters, Audrey Burch and husband Burley, Mary Alice Allen and husband Homer, both of Eros, Vivian Springfield and husband Jerry of Weston, April Smith of Swansboro, N.C, Sue Thornburg of Wilberton, Okla.; and future granddaughter, Sadie Beaubouef.
Pallbearers were Lee McCain, Jackie Potts, Bobby Dillon, Dewine Hennigan, Bo Johnson and Barry Johnson .
Honorary pallbearer was Devin Parker.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Caraway
Faye Caraway, 88
Faye Allene Peevy Caraway, 88, of Jonesboro, La, Passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003 at the Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Ruston, La. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the Jonesboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stuart Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral home. The family greeted friends, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jonesboro United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
Faye was born Dec. 21, 1914 in Jonesboro to John Pleasnat Peevy and Kate Moore Peevy. She graduated from Jonesboro-Hodge High School and attended business school for several years in Shreveport before returning to Jonesboro and starting to work for Southern Advance Paper Mill. She retired from Continental Can Company after 30 years of service in the main office and paper mill offices. She was a member of the Company’s Veterans Club. Faye was a very active member of the Jonesboro United Methodist Church for many years and was a member of the Victory Sunday School class.
Faye was first married to Alfred Fredieu of Colfax, La. After his death, she married George W. Caraway of Jonesboro. Family gatherings were always an important part of her life. Due to her warm personality, beautiful smile and special sense of humor, she had a way of leaving a lasting impression on all she met. Faye assumed the role of full-time caregiver to her sister, Willene Moorhead of Jonesboro. She maintained a constant devotion to her for many years until the mid 1990s, when she started to show the onset of Alzheimer’s disease. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Winnie Stuckey and Ann Stuckey for their special love and care for both Willene and Faye for many years. Faye had been a resident of Forest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since May of 2001. The family thanks the entire staff and Dr. John Overby for their caregiving and friendship.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, John and Kate Peevy; husband, George W. Caraway; sister, Willene Moorhead; brother, John Louis Peevy; and brother, Geral Adrian Peevy. She is survived by her stepson, Charles Caraway; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
