Funeral services for Clois Fowler Cook, 83, of Jonesboro were held Dec. 8 at the Zion’s Rest Cemetery with Elder Jesse Stripland officiating.
Mrs. Cook died Dec. 6 at her residence.
Born April 30, 1920 in Joyce, she was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.H. Cook.
She is survived by sons, John Harley Cook and wife Donna of Wickenburg, Ariz. And Freddy Cook and wife Montez of Jonesboro; daughter, Nelwyn Noland and husband Frank of Spring, Texas ; brother, Everett Fowler of Hobbs, N.M.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Jordan
Brealon Jordan, 22
Funeral services for Brealon Shane Jordan, 22, of Castor were held at the Ebenezer Cemetery on Dec. 5.Mr. Jordan died Dec. 2.He is survived by his father, Jackie Jordan of Jonesboro; mother Flora Jackson and husband John of Greenwood, Miss.; sisters, April Jordan of Castor and Harley Jordan of Jonesboro; niece, Destiny Jordan; nephew, Dakota Jordan; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Flora Bolyer of Ringgold; paternal grandparents, Julia and Leland Stanford of Jonesboro; aunt, Lilly Rushing and husband Randall of Ringgold; uncles Jimmy Jordan and wife Debbie of Jonesboro, Joey Jordan and wife Melanie of Jonesboro and Jolly Jordan and wife Patricia of Jonesboro.
Services were under the direction of Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold.

McConathy
A.P. McConathy Jr., 81
Funeral services for A.P. McConathy Jr., 81, of Jonesboro were held Dec. 7 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Robert K. Leach, Billy Mac McBride and Ed Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Zion’s Rest Cemetery.
Mr. McConathy died Dec. 4 at Jackson Parish Hospital.Born Jan. 17, 1922 in Quitman, he was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. He also worked in sales and service.
He is survived by his wife Mary McBride McConathy of Jonesboro; daughters, Carolyn Kelly and husband Phillip of Jonesboro and Greta Hutchinson and husband Leonard of Quitman; son, Louis McConathy and wife Marlene of Hodge; sister, Mary Evelyn McConathy of Jonesboro; brother, James Lemoine McConathy and wife Edith of Jonesboro; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were the Danville Deacons.
Pallbearers were Benjamin Hutchinson, Douglas Hutchinson, Seth Riser, Clay Osbon, Reggie Pardue and Chris Smith.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Warren
Merle Warren, 74
Funeral services for Merle Glen Warren, 74, of Saline were held Dec. 6 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert K. Leach officiating. Burial followed at the Riverside National Cemetery on March Air Force Base in California.
Mr. Warren died Dec. 3 at the V.A. Medical Center.
Born Aug. 19, 1929 in Jonesboro, he was a retired maintenance mechanic and a veteran of the Untied States Navy in World War II.He was preceded in death by his parents, Authur and Clotheld Warren.
He is survived by his soul mate, Eva Jo Dye of Saline; daughter, Linda Sue Hillman and husband Lonny Sucgang of Downey, Calif.; sons, Richard Lee Warren and wife Pamela Jean of Apple Valley, Calif. and Ronald James Warren and wife Alba of Hesperia, Calif.; sisters, Marie Cooper and husband Billy of Quitman, Betty Autrey of Friendship and Jeanette Gray and husband Calvin of Shreveport; brothers, John Thomas Warren and wife Virginia of Jonesboro, Donnie Paul Warren and wife Barbara of Jonesboro and Arthur Ray Warren and wife Laverne of Soso, Miss.; grandchildren, Andrea Hillman, Jason Hillman, Kimberly Warren, Jonathan Warren and Shirley Warren; and great-grandchildren, Mathew Hillman and Daniel Hillman.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Lambright
Dawson Lambright, 79
Funeral services for Dawson W. Lambright, 79, of Winnfield were held Nov. 29 at the Bethel Church of Christ with Mr. Joe Owen officiating. Burial followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Calvin.
Mr. Lambright died Nov. 27 at Jackson Parish Hospital.
Born Jan. 20, 1924 in Calvin, he was a retired sawmill employee and a veteran of the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by nephews, Sonny Stephens of Jonesboro, Donald Stephens of Jonesboro and Gary Stephens of Jonesboro; and niece, Peggy Smith of Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were Jessie Dyson, Perry Holmes, Frederick Bonnette, Spencer Kieffer, Jamie Stephens and John Stephens.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Rhodes
James Rhodes, 68
Funeral services for James Lynwood Rhodes, 68, of Chatham were held Nov. 26 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Revs. Randy Lee and Marty Wright officiating. Burial followed in the Ebenezer Cemetery.
Mr. Rhodes died Nov. 23 at Willis Knighton Hospital.
Born Jan. 24, 1935 in Chatham, he graduated from Northwestern State College and the University of Arkansas. He was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and a neighbor to all who knew him.
Mr. Rhodes was a teacher in the truest sense of the word. While he officially taught business at Springhill High School for 30 years, he taught much more important lessons in character and wise living. These lessons in life, which he taught as well by example, were instilled into a generation of students and parents who are scattered all over, but who never forgot “Mr. Rhodes.”
He is survived by one sister, Nadine Tarver and husband Rudolph of Chatham; one brother, Keith Rhodes and wife Carolyn of Chatham; niece, Sandra Burk and husband Drew; nephew, Russell Rhodes and wife Sandra; two great-nieces, Carlie Creese and Haley Burk; three great-nephews, William, Elijah and Avery Rhodes; and a host of friends, relatives and former students who will also miss his wit, his candor and his smiling face.
Honorary pallbearers were Drew Burk and the senior adult men Sunday school class of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Russell Rhodes, William Rhodes, Elijah Rhodes, Joe Hicks, Billy Ray Peters, Mike Whitlow, Dr. Ray Burnham and Wayne King.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Sims
Barbara Sims, 69
Funeral services for Barbara Linn Sims, 69, of Jonesboro were held Nov. 26 at the Jonesboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stuart Sherman officiating. Burial followed in the Gayla Traina Cemetery.
Mrs. Sims died Nov. 24 at Jackson Parish Hospital.
Born Jan. 9, 1934 in Clinton, Ark., she was a retired teacher who taught piano to many children in Jackson Parish. She was a long-time member of the Jonesboro United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was also a former member of Les Beau Arts Club.
She is survived by her husband, Don Sims of Jonesboro; daughter, Cindy Cole of Jonesboro; son, David Sims of Monroe; and one grandchild, Brandon Cole of Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were Bill Jimmerson, Kimble Thompson, Sam Ledbetter, Joseph Howard, Marty Folden and Kenneth Folden.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Griggs
Harold Griggs, 71
Funeral services for Lt. Col. Harold Gene Griggs (retired), 71, of West Monroe were held March 31 at the McClendon Baptist Church in West Monroe with the Revs. Rick Crandall and Herman Savoie officiating. Burial followed in the Zoar Cemetery in Chatham.
Lt. Col. Griggs died March 28 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
Lt. Col Griggs was a retired business manager for Surgery Associates. He was a member of McClendon Baptist Church where he served as deacon, a member of the Gideons, a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve and a member of the Retired Officers Association. He held a bachelor of science degree from Louisiana State University, and he was the former pianist for the Masters Quartet, former choir director for several Baptist churches and vice president of the Louisiana State Singing Convention.
Lt. Col. Griggs was preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years, Nelda Mae Griggs; parents, Elva and Sydney Griggs; and brother, Richard Griggs.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea Griggs of West Monroe; daughters, Kay Bishop and husband Wade of West Monroe and Kathy Griggs of West Monroe; son, Jay M. Griggs Sr. of Chatham; step-daughter, Cindy McKinney and husband Randy of Monroe; step-son, Wayne Heckford and wife Lisa of West Monroe; grandchildren, Ashley and Jason Bishop, Rachael, Jeremy and Jay M. Griggs Jr. and Crystal Carter; step-grandchildren, Brandy, Jacob and Annalee Heckford and Mallorie McKinney; brothers, William P. Griggs of West Monroe and Jesse Griggs and wife Reva of Hitchcock, Texas ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were deacons of McClendon Baptist Church and the men of Jim Merriweather and Ralph Owens Sunday school classes.
Pallbearers were Andy Bishop, Jerry Bishop, Gary Davis, Rick Griggs, David Massey, Buzzy May, Emerson Oaks and Melvin Whitlock.
Memorials may be made to the McClendon Baptist Church, the American Cancer Society, the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home or the Gideons.
Services were under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.

Liles
Estella Liles, 90
Funeral services for Estella M. Liles, 90, of Jonesboro were held March 9 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joey Bignar officiating. Burial followed in the Liles Cemetery.
Mrs. Liles died March 6 at Forest Haven Nursing Center after a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Liles and daughter, Mona Alexander.
Mrs. Liles is survived by sons, Tracy Liles and wife Bobbie of Jonesboro and John Paul Liles and wife Wanda of Shreveport; daughter, Vera Posey of Shreveport; brothers, William Morris and Elwin Morris, both of Bossier City; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and host of other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearer was Charles W. Raborn.
Pallbearers were Eric Alexander, Skip Amidon, Jeff Liles, Jim Liles, Elwin Liles and A.J. Liles.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
