Funeral services for Gerald Williams, 57, of Saline were held March 21 at the Strange Methodist Church in Saline with the Rev. Ron Perry and Sister Carol Heard officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Williams died March 19 in Coushatta.
He is survived by his wife Becky Williams of Saline; son, Steven Williams of Saline; mother, Claribel Riddle Williams of Jonesboro; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anita and Jeff Cheatwood of Saline; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Audra and Hezzie Stevenson of Saline; and niece and nephew, Amelia and Chase Cheatwood of Saline.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Dark
Joseph Dark Jr., 75
Funeral Services for Joseph W. Dark Jr., 75, of Jonesboro were held March 6 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Wayne Morrow, Gene Cumpton and Michael Whitman officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories.
Mr. Dark died March 2 at Lincoln General Hospital.
Born Oct. 12, 1928 in Walker, he was a retired hydrologist and a veteran of both World War II and Korea, serving in the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Dark of Jonesboro; daughter, Tina Santifer and husband Randy of Butte, Mt.; sons, Joe C. Dark and wife Marlene of Jonesboro, Kirby Mack Dark and wife Donna of Maurice, Sam Dark of Jonesboro and Kevin Lynn Dark and wife Valerie of La Place; sisters, Lois Shively and husband Louie of Jonesboro and Wanda Allen and husband Bobby of Shreveport; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Dark, Amanda Dark, Seth Dark, J.D. Santifer, Terri Dark, Jeffrey Dark, Nichol Dark and Andrea Dark; and one great-grandchild, Ashley Dark.
Honorary pallbearers were Otis Walsworth, Jerry Ayres, Ray Ayres, J.E. Townley, Van Beasley, David West, Michael Whitman and Bill Weeks.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Dark, Seth Dark, J.D. Santifer, Jeffrey Dark, Thomas Harris and Jason Turner.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Howard
Ruth Howard, 93
Services for Ruth Howard, 93, of Quitman, were held Feb. 23, at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with the Rev. Donald Rudd officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery near Quitman. Mrs. Howard, a homemaker, died Feb. 21 in Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston following a lengthy illness. She was a faithful member of Quitman Baptist Church and a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B.F. Howard.
Mrs. Howard is survived by a son, Ted Howard of Beech Springs; daughter, Barberlene Pipes of Choudrant; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Tom Goss, Butch Goss, Eugene Norred, Bobby Gresham, Daniel Howard and Lavon Atkins. Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Watkins
Ruby Watkins, 88
Funeral services for Ruby O. Watkins, 88, of Jonesboro were held March 14 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ronnie Burns and Malcolm Self officiating. Burial followed in the Siloam Spring Cemetery.
Mrs. Watkins died March 12 at Jackson Manor Nursing Home. Born March 3, 1916 in Wyatt, she was a retired lunchroom supervisor. She is survived by three sons, Bobby Watkins and wife Gloria of Jonesboro, Harold Watkins and wife Sharon of Pollock and Johnny “Lump” Watkins of Jonesboro; sister, Dorothy Faye Sawyer of West Monroe; brother, Willie Lee Gordon of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Chanda Peterson, Brandon Watkins, Glen Watkins, Melissa Schexnaydre and Suzanne Greer; and eight great-grandchildren, Seth Peterson, Kayla Watkins, Travis Watkins, Joseph Greer, Holden Greer, Emily Schexnaydre, Megan Schexnaydre and Avery Schexnaydre.
Honorary pallbearers were Joseph Greer, Holden Greer and Travis Watkins. Pallbearers were Douglas Harper, Johnny Ray Gordon, Mark Gordon, Glen Watkins, Ricky Gordon and Jason Davis. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Bruce
Bernice Bruce, 91
Funeral services for Bernice Bruce, 91, of Lindsborg, Kansas, were held March 9 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Beloit, Kansas. Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit.
Mrs. Bruce died March 3.Born June 7, 1912 in Tipton, Kansas, she was a retired teacher.She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Bruce; sister, Alvis Hook; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Howard Bruce of Lawrence, Kansas; daughters, Lois Obert of Olympia, Kansas, Neola Wohlbrandt of Marysville, Kansas, Carol Brown of Lindsborg, Nancy Joyner of Quitman, Sheila Pfeifer of Hays, Kansas and Vicki Fasulo of Augusta, Kansas; sisters, Roberta Albrecht of Cookeville, Tenn. And Jean Albrecht of Stockton, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Hays-Christians Funeral Home of Lindsborg.

Driskill
Opal Driskill, 91
Funeral services for Opal M. Driskill, 91, of Ruston were held March 3 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Hawley officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery.
Mrs. Driskill died March 1 at her home.
Born April 17,1912 in Quitman, she was a housewife.
She enjoyed helping others, sewing, crafts and caring for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was truly a “lady.”
The family wishes to thank her Pecan Villa family for their love and support. You were very special to her.
Mrs. Driskill was preceded in death by her husband, Chlotez “Red” Driskill; parents, Dolphus and Annie McMillan; brother, Colvin McMillan; sisters, Clytie McMillan and Mucille Downtain; and grandson, Patrick M. Graham.
She is survived by daughters, Nell Graham and husband George of Ruston and Ann Sims and husband Blake of Olla; sister, Louie Womack of Quitman; grandchildren, Kristy Curry and husband Kelly of West Lafayette, Tenn. And Joel Sims and wife Jackie of Olla; and five great-grandchildren, Josh Sims, Macie Sims, Hunter Sims, Kelsey Curry and Kendall Curry.
Pallbearers were Gilbert Pickens, Johnny McMillan, Terry Driskill, Kent Wimberly, Shawn McMillan and Blake Sims.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Dunham
Glenda Dunham, 67
Funeral services for Glenda Ann Bigelow Dunham, 67, of Quitman were held March 9 at the Fellowship Baptist Church with the Revs. Don Doughty, E.D. Morris and Danny Stevenson officiating. Burial followed in the Fellowship Cemetery.
Mrs. Dunham died March 7 at her home.
Born Sept. 19, 1936 in Delhi, she was a retired florist.
She is survived by one daughter, Daphne Smith and husband Charlie of Jonesboro; sons, Larry D. Dunham of Dallas and Jay Dunham of Quitman; sisters, Belva Bullock of Delhi and Charlotte McDonald of Delhi; grandchildren, Sam Lester and wife ShuanTay, Casey St. Clair and husband Jeff, Heather Dunham and Ryan Dunham; great-grandchildren, Madelyn R. St. Clair, Cody Lester, Grayson St. Clair and Eli Lester; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Johnson and Josh Odom.
Pallbearers were Jerry Foote, John DeBarge, Benny Stanley, Billy Don Stanley, Michael Don Stanley, Kenneth Thornton, Jason Odom and Dennis French.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Durbin
David Durbin, 59
David Quinton Durbin, 59, entered into rest Monday, March 1, 2004 in Shreveport, LA. Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, March 5, 2004 at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel. Reverend Floyd Johnson , pastor of Huntington Park Church of Christ officiated. interment followed in Forest Park West Cemetery, Meriwether Road.The family received friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 4, 2004 at the funeral home.
David was born January 3, 1945 to Douglas and Pauline Durbin in Winn Parish, LA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas D. Durbin; nephew, Lyndon Kirkham and niece, Nicole Savannah Heydens.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Linda Upshaw Durbin; sons, Craig Durbin and Brian Durbin, both of Shreveport, LA; mother, Pauline Durbin, of Gansville, LA; brother, Russell Durbin, of Gansville, LA; sisters, Deanna Page and husband, Mike, of Houston, TX, Brenda Shively and husband, Thomas, of Jonesboro, LA, Nelda Shows and husband, Randy, of Jonesboro, LA, Teresa Kirkham and husband, Randy Bill, of Bienville, LA; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers were Michael Page, Jason Shively, Rodney Shows, Jon Durbin, Nelson Cole, Harry Allen, Harold Zern, III and Dave Stewart.
Honorary pallbearers were Ardis Phillips, Brice Patrick, Fred Strozier, Mitchell Page, Matthew Page and Jacob Shively.
The family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to Dr. Paul Schuler and staff and to Willis-Knighton Pierremont and Life Care Hospital.

Elmore
Mary Elmore, 81
Funeral services for Mary Lue Elmore, 81, March 1 at the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Don Calloway and Alphonse Lee officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Elmore died Feb. 26.She was born March 15, 1922 to James and Viola Hamilton in Calhoun. She was a member of the Greater Jonesboro C.O.G.I.C.
Mrs. Elmore was preceded in death by her parents and three children, John, Donnia and Donelle.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Webb Elmore Sr.; children, Ora Wiley of Quitman, Margaret Washington of Dallas, Wilma Wattts and husband Gary of Waco, Texas , Mary Leonard and husband Roosevelt of Jonesboro, Lillie Turman and husband Billy of Dallas, Catherine Butler and husband Benny of Rochester, N.Y., Elsa Jones and husband Mark of Jonesboro, Webb Elmore Jr. of Jonesboro and Joseph Elmore and wife Sandra of Wichita, Kansas; one step-son, Willie Lee and wife Arnetta; sisters, Verna Lee Hamilton of Ruston and Sadie Ethridge and husband Roy of Monroe; 37 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Honorary pallbearers were sons, grandsons and sons-in-law.
Pallbearers were Carl Bradley, James Gray, James Morgan Jr., Vernon Spinks Jr., Calvin Moore, Eddie James Bradford and Hal Mims.
Services were under the direction of Simmons Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
