Funeral services for Lynn Edward Taylor , 58, of Winnfield were held Sept. 23 at Siloam Baptist Church in Gansville with the Revs. Charlie Hammons ,Ronny Taylor and Bro. Donnie Sneed officiating. interment then followed at Siloam Cemetery. Mr. Taylor died on Sept. 21 at Willis Knighton Hospital. Born March 20, 1946, he was a retired welder from Smurfit-Stone Container.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Avery Taylor of Dodson; daughter, Cristy Posey and husband Pat of Dodson; son, Lynn Taylor and wife Lori of Dodson; mother, Gladys Chandler Taylor of Dodson; and four grandchildren, Jarred Lynn Taylor , Chelsea Elizabeth Taylor , Nathan Tyler Posey, and Ashton MaLin Posey. Honorary pallbearers were the machine shop workers of Smurfit-Stone Container, Tyler Posey, Jim Dunigan, the deacons of Siloam Baptist Church, Rodger Jones, Dordell Taylor , Larry Avery, Harold Harvey, and Travis Young. Pallbearers were Donnie Sneed, Hayward Shively, Garland Taylor , Jarred Taylor , Kenneth Taylor , and Harold Earls.

Templeton
Lamomte Lawson Templeton, 84
Funeral services for Lamonte Lawson Templeton, 84, of Jonesboro were held Sept. 27 at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Shreve officiating. interment then followed at Jonesboro Cemetery. Mr. Templeton Passed away Sept. 24 at Lincoln General Hospital. Born Sept. 16, 1920, he was a retired rural mail carrier. He was an Army Air Corps veteran having served his country during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawson and Esta Templeton and brother, John Templeton. He is survived by his wife, Raye Thornton Templeton of Jonesboro; daughter, Kay Austin and husband Larry of Monroe; son, Gary Templeton and wife Ginger of Neeses, S.C.; grandchildren, Jill Templeton, Alan Templeton, Ryan Austin, Adam Templeton, and Jessica Austin; great-grandchildren, Michael Templeton, and Carter Templeton; a very special nephew, Johnny Templeton and wife Janice of Jonesboro; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers included Alan Templeton, Ryan Austin, Adam Templeton, Brad Black, Barney Nash, and Bobby Lyles.

Pearlie Fay Friday, 70
Funeral services for Pearlie Faye Friday, 70, of Bienville were held Oct. 5 at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Staples, Rev. Gene Cumpton, and Bro. Jerry Smelley officiating. interment then followed at Springhill Cemetery in Jonesboro. Mrs. Friday Passed away Oct. 2 at Lincoln General Hospital. Born July 21, 1934, she was a housewife. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Ora Mae Clary, and one sister, Vivian.
She is survived by husband, Otto Friday of Bienville; daughters, Teresa Wood of Friendship, Marie Johnson of Friendship, Trish Albritton and husband Dick of Choudrant, and Peggy Smelley and husband Jerry of Mt. Olive; sister, Mary Ethel Greer of West Monroe; grandchildren, Jennifer Adney, David Smelley, Heather Smelley, Shane Bell, Amanda Fallon, Allison Johnson and Jamie Bell; great-grandchildren, Aaron Fallon, Madison Bryan, and Anna Elise Adney. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends and family. Pallbearers were Shane Bell, Jamie Bell, David Smelley, Jerod Fallon, Terry McDonald, and Ronnie Wood. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Adcock
Lurline T. Adcock, 91
Funeral services for Lurline T. Adcock, 91, of Quitman were held Oct. 7 at Quitman Baptist Church with Revs. Wayne Morrow and Donald Rudd officiating. Mrs. Adcock Passed away Oct. 4 at her home. Born August 6, 1913 in Quitman, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Gilbert Adcock; son, Henry Stanley Adcock and her parents, Floyd and Katherine Thomas. She is survived by her daughters, Doris Walsworth and husband Robert of Quitman, Jeannie Jordan and husband Dwain of Downsville, and Patricia Ann Vail and husband Jerry of Lawrenceburg, IN; son Royce Adcock of Shreveport; daughter-in-law, Faye Adcock of Shreveport; sisters, Olline Wilkerson and husband George of Highlands, TX and Janice Dingler and husband Bernise of Quitman; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.Honorary pallbearers were Billy Joe Adcock and David Denton. Pallbearers were Johnny Templeton, Ronald Landry, Jerry Dingler, Eddie Rasbury, Donnie Freeman, and Mickey Wilkerson. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Myrna Peel DeCou, 63
Funeral services for Myrna Peel DeCou, 64, of Jonesboro were held at First Baptist Church on October 6 with Dr. Matthew Wohlfarth and Rev. Stuart Toms officiating. interment followed at Gayla Traina Memorial Cemetery. Myrna Passed away October 4 at Lincoln General Hospital. Born August 10, 1940, she was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, a homemaker, and a substitute teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy DeCou, and her father, Murray Peel. She is survived by her mother, Vivian Peel of Jonesboro; son, Mitch DeCou and wife Kim of Cabot, AR; daughters, Lesley Simmons and husband Al of Jonesboro, and Mary Lauren Lowe of Quitman; grandchildren, Ryan and Alison DeCou, Megan Bryant, Daniel and David Simmons, and Zach Lowe; brother, Maurice Peel and wife Pat of El Dorado, AR; sister-in-law, Kay Bond of Haynesvlle, LA; brother-in-law, Bill DeCou and wife Betty of Jonesboro; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Pallbearers were Benjamin DeCou, Don Essmeier, Jedd Essmeier, Billy Lowe, Bruce Thomas, and Stephen Treadway. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Jonesboro Building Fund, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or a favorite charity. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Wanda Clark Turner, 87
Funeral services for Wanda Clark Turner, 87, of Jonesboro were held Oct. 12 at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Perry Lassiter and Dwayne M. Boudreaux officiating. interment followed in the Antioch Cemetery in Quitman.
Born November 4, 1916 in Hodge, she was a housewife. Mrs. Turner is survived by daughter Glenda Lindsey of Shreveport; sons, Dude Turner of Hot Springs, Ark. and Stevie Turner of Jonesboro; sisters, Elaine Stewart and husband Frank of Shreveport and Wilda Boone of North Hodge; brother Delbert Clark of Quitman; ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers included Joey Boone, Gary Boone, Woody Clark, Tommy Wayne Holbrook, Troy Smith, and Dutch Garner. Honorary Pallbearers were the Parcway Industry Guys. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Rev. Herbert S. Johnson , 95Funeral services for Rev. Herbert S. Johnson , 95, of Jonesboro were held Nov. 5 with Rev. Frank Shields and Rev. Phil Milstead officiating. interment followed in the Antioch Cemetery in Quitman. Mr. Johnson Passed away Nov. 2 at Forest Haven Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 12, 1909, he was a retired minister. Rev. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi “Toni” Johnson . He is survived by daughter, Linda Hogan and husband Davis of Jonesboro; son, Keith Charles Johnson and wife Rose Ann of Minden; six grandchildren, Tim Hogan, Dana Bollier, Molly Bell, Toni Johnson , Sara Johnson , and Scott Johnson ; and five great-grandchildren, Jordan Alford, Brock Bollier, Hannah Hogan, Gina Hogan, and Chance Hogan.
Pallbearers were Tim Hogan, Bill Bollier, Jordan Alford, Scott Johnson , Jessie Stripland, Jesse Pyle. Honorary Pallbearers were Chance Hogan and Brock Bollier.Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Jimmie Lee Lowrey, 91
Funeral services for Mrs. Jimmie Lee Lowrey, 91, of North Hodge were held Nov. 7 at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stuart Toms officiating. interment followed in the Sweetwater Cemetery. Mrs. Lowrey Passed away Nov. 5 at Jackson Parish Hospital. Born Sept. 26, 1913, she was a housewife. Mrs. Lowrey was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Lowrey.
She is survived by daughter, Murline Fitzpatrick and husband Leon of Jonesboro; sons, Henry E. “Hank” Lowrey and wife Dorothy of Jonesboro and Walter L. Lowrey and wife Phyllis of North Hodge; sister, Vickie Turner of Gilmer, Texas ; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Will McConathy, Winston Allen, Travis Reed, Eric Hinton, Roger Young, and Michael Heard. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Alexander
G.E. "Buddy" Alexander, 90
Funeral services for G. E. “Buddy” Alexander, 90, of Jonesboro were held Nov. 15 at First Church of God with Revs. Steven Nelson and Stuart Toms officiating. interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery. Born July 14, 1914, he was employed as a truck driver. Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his wives; Mattie Bell Hinton Alexander and Nellie Ruth Bell Alexander; and two daughters, Billie Faye Alexander and Mary Yvonne Gresham.
He is survived by daughter, Gayle Cavett and husband DeLee of Quitman; stepson, Larry Freeman of Jasper, Texas ; sisters, Mary Bell of Jonesboro and Lettie Patton of Jonesboro; brother, H. V. Alexander of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Renee Pickens and husband Gilbert of Quitman, Pamela Buckelew and husband Tim of Quitman, Paula Brown of Jonesboro, Shannon Rodebaugh and husband Don of Shreveport, Sonia Cavett of Quitman, Eric Winthrop, and Suzette Montes; and thirteen great-grandchildren.Pallbearers were Paul Gresham, Tim Buckelew, Gary Bell, Larry Alexander, Charlie Brown, and James Moore. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Barnard
Charles B. Barnard, 72
Charles Buddy Barnard, age 72, a retired operator at the James River Paper Mill with 35 years of service Passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at his residence in Central, Louisiana . Barnard was a native of Quitman, Louisiana . Following service in the U. S. Navy he lived in Jonesboro and worked at Continental Can Company in Hodge before moving to St. Francisville.
He is survived by two sons, Chuck and Bill Barnard; three daughters, Janis Landry, Ava Sellers, and Jacqueline Barnard; four sisters, Francelia Jimmerson, Pat Staggs, Ann Shields, and Nan Casciola, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Barnard was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Walton Barnard and his parents Harold and Corrine Barnard of Quitman. Charlet Funeral Home of Zachary was in charge of arrangements with burial at Antioch Cemetery in Quitman.
