Burson
Dave Patrick Burson, 51
Funeral services for Dave Patrick Burson, 51, of Jonesboro were held at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey Bignar and Steven Bordelon officiating. interment followed at Ebenezer Cemetery. Mr. Burson died Thursday, December 2, 2004, after a courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy, Chronic Heart Disease and congestive heart failure.
He was at home surrounded by his family. He was born October 14, 1953 in New Orleans. He received an Honorable Medical Discharge from the Army in 1973. He worked in the automotive industry for 30 years until he retired in August of 2001. He loved fishing and hunting. Mr. Burson was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. He was a very loving and caring husband, father, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Denise Burson of Jonesboro; daughter, Jennifer Jones and husband Bill of West Monroe; son, Joshua Patrick Burson of Jonesboro; mother and father, Jackie and Dan Burson of Jonesboro; sister, Teresa Dezendorf and husband Roy of Baton Rouge; brother, Michael Burson and wife Yolanda of Ruston; grandchildren, Emily, Zachary, and Hannah Jones of West Monroe; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ladean and Houston Robertson of Jonesboro; sister-in-law, Debbie Robertson of West Monroe; grandmother-in-law, Katie Peel of Jonesboro; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Rick McDow, Wesley Horton, David Roberts, Roy Dezendorf, Joey Davis, and Dinky Williamson.
Honorary pallbearer was Benjamin Dezendorf. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Burson’s memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to the American Heart Association. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Greer
James Bradley Greer, 37
Funeral services for James Bradley Greer, 37, of Jonesboro were held November 30 at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Elton Gunter officiating. Burial followed in Beulah Cemetery in Calhoun. Mr. Greer died on Saturday, November 27, 2004. He was born February 3, 1967. He was employed as a laborer.
Mr. Greer was preceded in death by his mother, Dewanna Bryan Davis. He is survived by his sons, Bryan Greer and Caleb Greer both of Jonesboro; fathers, Jimmy Greer and stepmother, Lorri Greer of Jonesboro and Lowell Mize of Homer; sister, Joey Hanna of Quitman; brothers, Jay Greer of Quitman and Brent Mize of Jonesboro; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Bryan of Hodge; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Melton Mize of Jonesboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Pallbearers were Todd Kelley, Tommy Holbrook, Richard Mize, Rod Mize, Jay Greer, and Heath Hanna. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Gaines
Mary Louise Gaines, 96
Funeral services for Mary Louise Gaines, 96, of Jonesboro were held Dec. 8 at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Perry Lassiter, Rev. Dwayne M. Boudreaux, and Rev. Bill Strawbridge officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories.
Ms. Gaines Passed away Dec. 6 at Jackson Parish Hospital. Born Dec. 15, 1907, she was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter, Betty A. Rogers and husband Robert W. of Jonesboro; sons, Robert K. Gaines and wife Charlene of Rowlett, Texas , Roy E. Gaines and wife Gerri of Jonesboro, and Billy Gaines and wife Nita of Quitman; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Eddie Gaines, Scott Rogers, Marty Folden, Kent Gaines, Stephen Lewter, Tim Gaines, Wesley Lockhart, and Oliver Lockhart. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Jones
Mae Janette Jones, 69
Funeral services for Mae Janette Jones, 69, of Heflin were held Jan. 17 at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. M. D. Owen officiating. interment followed in the Gayla Traina Cemetery. Mrs. Jones Passed away Jan. 14 at Minden Medical Center. Born Jan. 11, 1936 in Bienville, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Loffie and Lorene Caskey; and three sisters, Pat Jones, Nancy McManus, and Wilma Jones.
She is survived by her husband, Willie D. Jones, Jr. of Heflin; sons, Tommy Harper and wife Donna of Jonesboro, Joey Harper and wife Tammy of Jamestown; Bruce Harper and wife Patricia of Heflin, Charles Harper and wife Carmen of Casper, Wyo., and Leonard Harper and wife Karen of Jamestown; sister, Shirley Austin and husband Thomas of Nacogdoches, Texas ; brothers, George Caskey and wife Pat of Quitman, and Edward Caskey and wife Ann of Bossier City, eighteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearer was Les Harrell. Pallbearers were Harry Caskey, Kevin Norred, Charles Caskey, James Womack, Rickey Womack, and Johny Mac Boyd. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Walker
Margie V. Walker, 73
Funeral services for Margie V. Walker, 73, of Jonesboro were held Jan. 12 in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Herb Dickerson officiating. Burial followed in the Gayla Traina Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker Passed away Jan. 10 at Lincoln General Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Dewey “Bo” Walker of Jonesboro; daughters, Beverly Ann Brown of Quitman and Donna Lynn May of West Monroe; sister, Ethel Williams of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Beverly Dawn Runyan, Janna Lynn May and Stephen Edward May.Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Sarah O. Jones, 90
Funeral service for Sarah O. Jones, 90, of Clay were held Jan. 16 at the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston with Revs. Mike Milstead, Wayne Morrow, and Donald Rudd officiating. interment followed in the Mt. Zion cemetery near Clay. Mrs. Jones Passed away Friday, Jan. 14 in Ruston following a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of the Clay/Vernon area and a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank P. Jones, three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Jones and wife Lisa; a sister, Willie Mae Harris, grandchildren, Mitchell and Ashley Jones, Philip Jones, Amy and Corey Rowe, and Caitlin Jones; great-grandchildren, Bryce Jones and Shane Rowe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Chad Bates, Jeffery Robison, Allen Hanna, Jerry Harris, Donny Edminston and Jerry Robison.Services were under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.

Donald R. Rison, 80
Funeral services for Donald R. Rison, 80, of Dodson were held at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Moore officiating. interment followed in the Springhill Cemetery. Mr. Rison Passed away Jan. 22 at Willis Knighten. He is survived by his wife Renate Rison of Dodson; sisters, Ida Mae Lowrey of Jonesboro, Joe Etta Caskey of Jonesboro, and Lucille Truelove of Springhill; and brother, Leonard Rison and wife Mary of Spokane, Wash.

Dark
Billie Katherine Dark, 77
Funeral services for Mrs. Billie Katherine Dick Dark, 77, of Winnfield were held Feb. 12 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Winnfield with Rev. Bill Moore, Rev. Craig James, and Rev. Lindsey Burns officiating. Burial followed in the Harmony Grove Cemetery in Dodson. Mrs. Dark Passed away Feb. 9 at the Winn Parish Medical Center. She was retired from the Winn Parish School System and Billing Supervisor of the Gaars Mill/ Hudson Water System.
Mrs. Dark was preceded in death by her husband, Zachary Taylor “ZT” Dark; her parents, William Luther Dick, Sr. and Leatha Ruth Davis Dick; sister, Bronis Havarda; brothers, Clifford Dick and William Luther Dick, Jr. She is survived by daughters, Judy Jordan and her husband Bobby of Winnfield, Linda Nugent and her husband Leon of Shongaloo, and Kathy Watson and her husband Tommy of Dodson; grandchildren, Donna Kirkland, Mike Spangler, Brandi Watson, Leatha Watson, Curtis Nugent and Jason Nugent; great-grandchildren, Chad Cockerham, Dustin Spangler, Lauren Kirkland, Will Kirkland, and Hunter Spangler; sisters, Louise Wilson of Mt. Union, Pa. and Patsy James of Verda; brothers, Carl Dick of Atlanta, Jerry Dick of Birmingham, Ala., Charles Dick of Winnfield, and Harold Dick of Conway, Ark. Pallbearers were Adrian James, David James, Stanley James, Ty James, Alan Dick, Roger Dark, William Edward Dark, and Tony Dick. Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Ozie Walsworth Folse, 95
Graveside services for Ozie Walsworth Folse, 95, of Jonesboro were held Feb. 9 in the Jonesboro Cemetery with Father Bob Leonhardt officiating. Mrs. Folse Passed away Feb. 6 at Lincoln General Hospital. Born Aug. 28, 1909, she was a homemaker. She is survived by son, Michael G. Folse of La Veta, Colo.; sisters, Marie Bolls and Idora Parker both of Jonesboro; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Lemmons
Samuel David Lemmons, 55
Funeral services for Samuel David Lemmons, 55, of Jonesboro were held Feb. 5 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Jinks and Rev. Buddy Ellington officiating. Burial followed in the Zion Rest Cemetery. Mr. Lemmons Passed away Feb. 2 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. He was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church of Shreveport. He was also a member of Eastern Star Lodge #151 F & AM of Winnfield. He was the son of the late Buster Lemmons and Mae Coleman Lemmons.
Mr. Lemmons was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Lemmons. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hall Lemmons of Jonesboro; daughters, Samantha Webb of Dodson and Abby Rozelle of Winnfield; stepdaughter, Dana Shoemaker of Quitman; sisters, Shirley Randle of Houma, Delores Gillespie of Shreveport, and Karen White of Winnfield; grandchildren, Drew Webb and Jolie Rozelle; and step-grandchild, Katelyn Shoemaker.Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
