VARNADO - The funeral service for Mrs. Wilma Moses Lewis, 90, a life-long resident of Varnado, is scheduled for tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Varnado.

Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. today at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home. A wake service will be today from 7-9 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Lewis died Saturday in the Bogalusa Community Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lewis; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel (Letha) Moses; a daughter, Viola Cotton; three sisters, Beulah Foster, Sarah Mondy and Lillie Mae Morris; three brothers, Albert Moses, Marvin Moses and Tom Moses; three grandchildren, Aron Jefferson , Ronald Lewis, Donald Lewis; three great-grandchildren, DaVonda Lewis, Mallory Henry and Baby Jefferson .

Survivors are her children, Cleother (Minnie) Lewis, Lonnie (Helen) Lewis, Varnado, Clarissa (Clarence) Jefferson , Mae B. (J.B.) Herrington, Jackson , MS and Chester (Gwen) Lewis, Detroit; three sisters, Mary Peters, Arnecia Morris, Varnado and Evie (Willie) Foots, Bogalusa; three sisters-in-law, Armelia Moses, Tessie Lewis and Laura Lewis, Varnado; 48 grandchildren; 116 great grandchildren; 66 great-great grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, other family, relatives, and friends.

HARVEY, LA - The funeral service for Allean Pierce Lewis, 79, is scheduled tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness, with Eld. Washing Drake and Eld. David Hollins officiating.

Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton, with a family hour from 6-8 p.m. Burial will follow in the Sweet Home cemetery.

Survivors include two brothers, Victor Pierce, Lake Charles and Shelby Pierce, Grambling; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be today from 5-10 p.m. at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home and will continue tomorrow after 8 a.m. Funeral services will be tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. interment will follow in Ponemah Cemetery.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bill (Helen) McNabb, Bogalusa, Sandra Carroll, Simmsport, LA and Amy Carroll, Bogalusa; 10 grandchildren, Amanda, Rebecca and Monica McNabb, Michael Carroll, Denise, Samantha, Virginia, and Timothy Williams, Toni, Brandy and Tiffany Carroll, all of Bogalusa; three great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brent Williams and Erica Carroll of Bogalusa; a brother, James Haga, Raleigh, NC; a sister, Connie Collins, New Orleans; a sister, Connie Collins, New Orleans; a devoted friend and companion of 18 years, Kenneth Wells, Bogalusa.

She was preceded in death by her husband by first marriage, Jack Carroll and by second marriage Benjamin Creel and her parents, Roger Cooley and Helen Haga Cooley.

He is survived by three sons, Jerry (Brealan) Wells, Richard (Joann) Wells, Bogalusa and Roger (Mae) Wells, Chicago, IL; a sister, Clemetine, Chicago, IL; three brothers, Thomas Wells, Amos Wells, Chicago, IL and Richard Wells, Monticello, MS; three children he raised, Ora Sartin Bickham, Bogalusa, Lynell Sartin, Gary, IN and James Sibley, Bogalusa; a step-son, Attie Sartin, Bogalusa; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 31 step-grandchildren; 53 step-great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; a special friend, Maybell Page and her children.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ida and Ambrose Wells; five brothers, Q.B., Theodore, Jack, Essie and J.D. Wells; four sisters, Jane , Carlean Phillips, Annie Mae, and Authurine Finner; three step-sons, the Rev. Jacob Sartin, Joseph and Charles Sartin.

He is survived by his wife, Bernita Cox Phelps of Franklinton; two sons and daughters-in law, William E. and Robin Phelps, Charles Wayne and Pam Phelps all residents of Franklinton; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Wayne Hunt of Franklinton; two brothers, Curtis Ray Phelps of Mandeville and Martin John Phelps of Gulfport; five sisters, Geneva Nelson Bell of Bogalusa, Betty Carnegie of Pine, Mary Jane Allen of Folsom, Joyce Creel and Gail Espinoza both of Franklinton and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Blackwell; her parents, Howard and Ethel Guy; and a brother, Tommy Daryl Guy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mallie Vance, and a brother, Craig Vance.

BOGALUSA - Curtis Stanford Sumrall, age 61, died yesterday at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. He was a member of Lee's Creek Baptist Church, Center Lodge No. 244, F&AM, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Louisiana National Guard, and a retired Captain for the Bogalusa Fire Department.

Visitation will be today at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 5-10 p.m., with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue tomorrow at 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. The Rev. He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae DeLaughter Sumrall, Bogalusa; a son, William Stanford Sumrall, Bogalusa; a daughter, Shan S. BATON ROUGE Austin E. Passman, age 76, died yesterday. He was a native of Washington Parish and a veteran of World War II. He was a deacon at Winbourne Baptist Church, a member of American Legion and retired Rabenhorst Life Insurance agency of 38 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Passman Hoy of Baton Rouge; two sons, Joseph "Butch" Passman and William "Andy" Passman, both residents of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Mildred Stafford, Franklinton, and Ester Allison, Bogalusa; four grandchildren, Kristel Hoy, Jonathan Hoy and Garron Passman, all residents of Baton Rouge and Joseph "Jay" Passman, Pensacola, Fla.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be at Rabenhorst East today from 5-9 p.m. and tomorrow from 10:00 am to 1 p.m. Services will be in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. tomorrow with the Rev. Jim Nicholos officiating. interment will be in Greenoaks.
