Graveside services for Mr. Tim Carter, 68, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Whitehall Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mr. Carter, a native of Leton and a resident of Minden, Passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, in Minden. Formerly of Broken Arrow, Okla., he was a self-employed bookkeeper and tax service owner. He was also a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans and a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ezra S. Carter.
He is survived by his son, Myke Carter and wife Angela of Broken Arrow; daughter, Renee' La Viness and husband Gene of Broken Arrow; brother, Ezra S. Carter Jr., and wife Diana of Brighton, Mich.; mother, Mildred Lee Carter of Minden; grandsons, Jay, Tom and Jim, all of Tulsa, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Luevada Cotton
Funeral services for Mrs. Luevada Cotton will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church. Services are under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Mrs. Cotton Passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, at Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport. She was a longtime employee of Benevolent Life Insurance Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B.D. Cotton.
She is survived by her sons Raymond Cotton and Gerald Cotton of Shreveport; and daughter, Gloria Jean Cotton Davis of Mitchellville, Md.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church elevator fund.

Ernest Joseph Wallett
Graveside services for Mr. Ernest Joseph "Frenchy" Wallett, 77, were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Woodville, Texas , with Kenneth Cauthen officiating. Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville.
Mr. Wallett, a native of Natchitoches and a resident of Jefferson , Texas , Passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, at his residence. He was born Feb. 22, 1924 to Edward and Marie Grappe Wallett and a former longtime resident of Kingsland, Texas . He lived in Jefferson for the past year. He was a retired oil well driller and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Clotile Pittman and Edris Mitchell; and a brother, Morris Wallett.
He is survived by his step-son, Stan Tague of Indianapolis, Ind.; step-daughter, Shirley Hooks of Houston, Texas ; sisters, Marie Elmore of Haynesville, Mary Jones of Taylor , Ark., Ceal Brunson of Minden; and Hazel Blake of Calvin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clark J. Anderson
Funeral services for Mr. Clark J. Anderson, 64, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 27, 2001, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Steven L. Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 7 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Mr. Anderson, a native of Shreveport and a resident of Doyline, Passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, at his residence. He was a mechanic and a member of the Baptist church. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loy C. and Irene Hanna Anderson.
He is survived by Joyce Bascus of Doyline; sons, Robert C. Anderson and wife Suzie of Fort Sill, Okla., Ronald W. Anderson and wife Michelle of Minden; daughter, Dana A. Knight and husband Gary of Memphis, Tenn.; step-son, Ray Bascus and wife Susan; step-daughter Glenda Ebarb and husband Jason; brother, Rodger L. Anderson and wife Becky of Minden; grandchildren, Hannah and Carly Anderson, Devin, Hailey and Veronica Anderson, and Chase Knight; special niece, Robin A. Herman; special nephew, Eric C. Anderson; and four step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Pope, Sonny Watson, Ronald Jones, Gary Matthews, Ronald Bryan and Donald Sawyer.

Elizabeth Thompson Perritt
Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson Perritt, 95, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at First United Methodist Church in Minden with the Rev. Ryan Horton officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today, Nov. 27, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Perritt, a native of Oak Grove and a resident of Minden, Passed away Monday, Nov. 26, at Minden Medical Center. She was born June 20, 1906, and was the daughter of Mary Briggs Thompson and Jarman Stewart Thompson.
A long-time first and third grade teacher, she taught several generations of students. In 1925, she completed her two-year teaching certificate from the Normal, now Northwestern State University, and began her teaching career in January 1926 in Sibley, where she met and married Buren Perritt on Nov. 25, 1926. In 1940, the family moved to Minden where Buren was employed with the post office. She began teaching first grade in Minden in 1944. She returned to Louisiana Tech and completed her bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1953. In May of 1970, she retired from teaching. During her retirement years, she enjoyed traveling, handwork and gardening.
Mrs. Perritt was a member of First United Methodist Church in Minden for more than 60 years. She regularly attended church services and the Brown Shields Sunday school class as long as she was able. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women from a time when it was known as the Missionary Society. For many years, she was also an active member of the Eastern Star and the DAR.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 18, 1969; her parents; and sister, Elsie Thompson Wall.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Perritt Cooke of Minden and Margaret Ann Perritt Love and husband, Clifton B. Love Jr., of Bedford, Ind.; four grandchildren, Jan Cooke Williams, Cathy Cooke Tomlinson of Bossier City, Clifton B. Love III of Olathe, Kan., and David Buren Love of Phoenix, Ariz.; nine great-grandchildren, Jenny, Ashley and McKenzie Williams, Rachel, Lauren and Connor Tomlinson, and Jessica, Jordan and Mason Love.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Earle Cooke Choir Room Fund or the American Heart Association.

Clark J. Anderson
Funeral services for Mr. Clark J. Anderson, 64, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden.
Mr. Anderson, a resident of Doyline, Passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, in Doyline.

Thurman Wise Morgan
Funeral services for Mr. Thurman Wise Morgan, 76, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Emile Rousseau officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden.
Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. today, Nov. 26, at the funeral home.
Mr. Morgan, a native of Colquitt and a resident of Shreveport, Passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, in Shreveport. He was a former resident of Homer and Minden and was a county extension agent for the State of Louisiana , Claiborne Parish. He was a member of First Baptist Church Minden and a graduate of Shongaloo High School and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Morgan of Shreveport; son, Keith Morgan and wife Cynthia of Macau, China; daughter, Freda Jones and husband Ricky of Shreveport; sister, Carolyn Holley of Heflin; and two grandchildren, Micah Morgan and Erin Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Loyd Nelson, Andy Gilbert, Joey White , Mike Hosler, Robin Bridges and Jack Thigpen. Honorary pallbearers will be the Friendship Bible Sunday school class of First Baptist Minden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Center Shreveport or International Mission Board of Home Clinic Macau, China, P.O. Box 6767, Richmond VA 23230.

George D. Anders Sr.
Funeral services for the Rev. George D. "Andy" Anders Sr., 83, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at First United Methodist Church Minden with the Rev. Ryan Horton officiating and the Rev. Lynn Malone assisting. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Cemetery near Ringgold under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 10 p.m. today, Nov. 23, at the funeral home.
The Rev. Mr. Anders, a native of Shreveport and a resident of Minden for 49 years, Passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, in Minden after a long illness. He was a United Methodist Church Minister; a pipefitter and member of Pipefitters Local 141 in Shreveport. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and entered into the United Methodist Church ministry in 1969, serving churches in Athens, Bienville, Clay, Vinton, Montgomery, McIntyre and Marthaville.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmie Nolan Woods on Nov. 2, 1973.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nelma Crumpton Anders; son, the Rev. George "Dee" Anders and wife Brenda of Cullen; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bill Fields of New Orleans, Lucy and Kevlin Braun of Ponchatula, and Jackie and Jerry Roberts of Minden; grandchildren and spouses, Denise and Keith Craig, D'Ann and Terry Davis, Jeremy and Angie Anders, Jeff and Quinnon Anders, Brandon Anders, Jamee and Greg Reed, Jan and Jarrod Goudeau, Jill and Ray Balisteri, Bernie and Jessica Braun, Billy Fields and David Fields; and 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Drew Carter, Terry Davis, Brian Kendrick, Kevlin Braun, Dan Gonzales and Larry Woods .

Don E. Hasty
Funeral services for Mr. Don E. Hasty, 66, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Fairview Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas . Burial will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, Texas , under the direction of Beau-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today, Nov. 23, at the funeral home.
Mr. Hasty, a resident of Grand Prairie for 41 years, Passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20. He was born in Castor June 4, 1935. He was a retired manager over maintenance from Loral Missiles and Space, formerly L.T.V. in 1994 after 25 years. He served as a reserve police officer for the city of Grand Prairie for 10 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and truly enjoyed his trips to the boat. He was a member of the Thomas B. Hunter Masonic Lodge 1356 A.F. & A.M. and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason with the Valley of Dallas. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Myra Hasty; daughter, Becky Hasty, both of Grand Prairie; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Kathy Hasty of Grand Prairie and Douglas and Jennifer Hasty of Keller, Texas ; three grandchildren, Chad, Katie and Jacob Hasty; mother, Myrtis Hasty of Minden; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Robert Triplett of Minden; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Lynettie Hasty of Shreveport and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for children at 2222 Welborn Street, P.O. Box 190567, Dallas, TX 75219-0567.

Sandra Ann Crow
Funeral services for Mrs. Sandra Ann Crow will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Pilgram Rest Baptist Church in Sibley. Burial will follow at Pilgram Rest Cemetery under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.

Richard Leslie Pickerell Jr.
Memorial services for Mr. Richard Leslie Pickerell Jr., 68, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Oakmont Church of God in Shreveport with the Rev. Billy Franks officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mr. Pickerell, a native of Gladewater, Texas , and a resident of Doyline, Passed away Monday, Nov. 19, in Minden. He was a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Zola Pickerell of Doyline; sons, Randall Davis Pickerell and wife Dianne of Lawrenceville, Ga., and James Richard Pickerell and wife Darlene of Powder Springs, Ga.; daughters, Carol Miller and husband Rodney of Crown Point, Ind., and Patricia Davis and partner Bridgett Coker of Doyline; sisters, Patricia Essary of Decatur, Ga., and Marietta Taylor of Corinth, Miss.; brother, Robert Pickerell of Granite City, Ill.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Clarence Edward Bounds
Funeral services for Mr. Clarence Edward Bounds, 94, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Minden with the Rev. Joe Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, at the church.
Mr. Bounds, a native of Idabel, Okla., and a resident of Minden, Passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, in Minden. He was a former resident of McGehee, Ark., and a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opel Mary Bounds.
He is survived by his sons, Edward T. Bounds of Almyra, Ark., Walter R. Bounds of DeWitt, Ark.; Edith Bounds Jacobs of Ruston, Agnes Searcy of DeWitt, and Mary Francis Bounds of DeWitt; brothers, Thomas H. Bounds of Minden and Jackie Bounds of Benton, Ark.; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Mattie Davis Buckner
Funeral services for Mattie Davis Buckner, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Athens Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Mariah Cemetery near Arcadia under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia.
Mrs. Buckner, a native of Minden and a resident of Athens, Passed away Monday, Nov. 19, at Claiborne Manor Nursing Home. She was born July 30, 1911. She was a graduate of the Shreveport Charity Hospital School of Nursing in 1933. Her nursing employment included private duty, Claiborne Parish Public Health Unit and Homer Memorial Hospital before retiring as director of nurses at Bienville General Hospital in 1979. She was a dedicated caregiver who touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady D. Buckner; parents, Laura Dalton Davis and Thomas Lewis Davis; and siblings, Lewis Davis, Thomas Clay Davis, Susie Stephens, Myrtle Atkins and Vesta Holyfield.
She is survived by her daughter, Ina Claire Daniel; grandchildren, Stephanie Gantt and husband Vick, Dr. Ray Spurlock and wife Chris, Bucky Hemphill and wife Sissy; great-grandchildren, Rance and Chance Gantt, Chip, Emily and Rudy Spurlock, and Luke and Levi Richardson; sister-in-law, Myrtis Mulhearn and sister-in-law and friend Jeri Buckner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Memorials may be made to Athens Methodist Church, where she attended for 67 years.

Durwood Ermon Jordan
Funeral services for Mr. Durwood Ermon Jordan, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 14, 2001, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Billy Franks officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Mr. Jordan, a native of Bienville Parish and a resident of Minden since 1950, Passed away Monday, Nov. 12, in Minden. He was a self-employed auto mechanic. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific with the U.S. Army and owned and operated Jordan Auto Service in Minden for 30 years. He was a member of North Acres Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ermon John David and Alice Loretta Driskill Jordan.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois Hood Jordan of Minden; daughter, Christy J. Wrenn and husband Marvin of Bossier City; grandchildren, Christopher Jordan and Emelia Summer Wrenn; sisters, Naoma Brown and husband Vivian of Heflin, Myrtle Welch and husband Grady of Alexandria, Mary Alice Boyter and husband Dale of Atlanta, Texas ; brother, Gerald David Jordan and wife Mary Lou of Greenville, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
