Funeral services for Mr. Ira F. Gamble, 95, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Richard May officiating. Burial will follow at Gilgal Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Sept. 23, at the funeral home.
Mr. Gamble, a native of Webster Parish and a resident of Minden, Passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, in Arcadia. He was a carpenter and a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Mae Gamble.
He is survived by his daughter, Vergie May Teschendorf of Taft, Texas ; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Loyce Gamble of Minden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be George Gamble III, Ben Gamble, Clay Gamble, Kelly Gamble, Joe Gamble, and A.K. "Sonny" Tuggle.

Elva Anders
Funeral services for Mrs. Elva Ann Anders, 72, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Adrian DeLukie officiating. Burial followed at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Anders, a native of Minden and a resident of Houston, Texas , Passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, in Houston. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cullon and Anne Thompson and a son, Jay Anders.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Anders of Houston; daughter, Cara Lynette Anders of Richmond, Texas ; and grandson, Aaron James Anders of Houston; and a host of other relatives, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Lawson Gray
Funeral services for Mr. Lawson James Gray, 83, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at First United Pentecostal Church in Minden with the Rev. T.W. Barnes officiating and the Rev. Gerald Trammel and the Rev. Tom Murphy assisting. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. today, Sept. 20, at the funeral home.
Mr. Gray, a native of Dubberly and a resident of Minden, Passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, in Minden. He was the owner of Gray's Jewelry Store in Minden.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Gray; six sisters; and five brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Gray of Minden; sons, Benny Lawson Gray of Minden and Gregory Dan Gray of Minden; daughters, Aundria Ann Hunter of Texarkana, Ark., Lona Gail Murphy of Spring, Texas , and Reba Denise Dawson of Kerrville, Texas ; sister, Marion White of Minden; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Gloria Weatherton
Funeral services for Ms. Gloria Dean Weatherton, 54, were to be held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 18, 2002, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. John Cole and the Rev. Elijah Weatherton officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Miller-Pioneer Funeral Home in Minden.
Ms. Weatherton, a resident of Oakland, Calif., Passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, in Oakland.
She is survived by her son, Julius Bailey Jr.; daughter, Denise Bailey; brother, Elijah Weatherton Jr.; sisters, Louise Weatherton, Linda Parker; granddaughters, Julia Bailey, Juliana Bailey, and Keidra Bailey; nieces, Tanyan Weatherton, Regina Weatherton; sister-in-law, Addie Weatherton; nephew, Anthony Weatherton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Glen Holcomb Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Glen Holcomb Jr., 73, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Mike Crimp officiating. Burial will follow at Brushwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 9 p.m. today, Sept. 17, at the funeral home.
Mr. Holcomb, a native of Homer and a resident of Dubberly, Passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, in Shreveport. He was a security guard for Mid-South Security Firm.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Holcomb.
He is survived by his son, Glen Holcomb Jr. and wife Becky of Minden; daughter, Gloria H. Sullivan and husband Johnny of Minden and Sharon H. Watts and husband Danny of Ocean Springs, Miss.; sisters, Edith Simpson and husband Joe of Minden, Margie Plunkett and husband Marvin of Minden, Irene Richey and husband Leon of Dubberly, Helen Edmonson of Bossier City, and Sue Hunter and husband Bobby of Minden; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Sullivan, Jake Watts, Glen Holcomb III, Michael Holcomb, Joshua Jones and Marvin Plunkett.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Shriner's Hospital.

Crichton McCrary
Funeral services for Mr. Crichton E. McCrary, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Ronald Prince officiating. Burial will follow at Minden Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Sept. 16, at the funeral home.
Mr. McCrary, a native and resident of Minden, Passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, in Minden. He was the owner and operator of McCrary Gulf Service Station and co-owner and partner of McCrary's Men's Store.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Chrystelle McCrary and brothers, S.H. "Pat" McCrary and Leonard McCrary.
He is survived by his son, Douglas McCrary and wife Dee Dee; daughter, Mary Nell McCrary Batton; grandchildren, Douglas C. McCrary Jr., Paula McCrary Keith, Chris McCrary, Marty McCrary, Jody Batton Baker, and Carla Batton Horner; eight great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Melba McCrary.
Pallbearers will be Chris McCrary, Mary McCrary, Harry McInnis Jr., George McInnis, Sherb Sentell, John Horner and Keith Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Sanders, Carlus Morgan, Bo Maddry, David Williams, Harry McInnis Sr. and C.D. Cockrell.

Paul Cummings
Graveside services for Mr. Paul Ray Cummings, 45, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 13, 2002, at Garden of Peace Cemetery on Walter Lyons Road in Minden. Military rites will be conducted by the 12th District, Department of Louisiana , Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard. Services are under the direction of Centuries Funeral Home in Shreveport.
Mr. Cummings, a resident of Greenwood, Passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, at his residence, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Eureka, Calif., and resided here for the last 25 years. He was a truck driver for 20 years and had driven for G.W. Leary of Minden. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Cummings and brothers, Chuck, Don, Herman and Clint.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie; mother, Lois Cummings; stepdaughter, Misty Smith-Brown and husband Ronald of Bethany; sister, Carolyn Lilly of Shreveport; brother, Richard Kenneth Cummings of Minden; granddaughter, Rayann Nichole Smith-Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

Lucille Sneed
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Sneed will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Bienville. Burial will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Gibsland under the direction of Patterson Funeral Home.

Brandon Becnel
Funeral services for Mr. Brandon Braviante Becnel were held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 12, 2002, at St. Rest Baptist Church.
Mr. Becnel was born Jan. 21, 1984, to Cheryl and George Becnel Jr. He accepted Christ and joined St. Rest Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Audry L. Day.
He is survived by his parents; one sister, Marnisha Rochelle Becnel; one brother, George Earl Becnel III; two nephews, Jordan Terrell Becnel and Tyjalan Chatman; grandparents, Irene Day of Minden and Mr. and Mrs. George Becnel Sr. of Plaquemine; aunts, Gwendolyn and husband Calvin, Cynthia and husband Kenneth of Minden, Wanda and husband Delbert of Alexandria, Francine, Kimberly, Patrice and Carmelita of Plaquemine; uncles, Donald and wife Alice of Floresville, Texas , Cedric Sr. and wife Janet of Fort Worth, Texas , Mike of Plaquemine; great-aunts, Verna Lee Walker, Estelle Halligan, Christelle Harris of Minden; great-great-aunt, Lillie Mae Flucas of Minden; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mildred Burns
Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred O'Bier Burns will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Walter Fred Bailey and the Rev. Ronnie Whitlock officiating. Burial will follow at Old Shongaloo Methodist Church Cemetery at noon.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Sept. 12, at the funeral home.
Georgia Mildred O'Bier Burns, a resident of Shongaloo, Passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport. She was born May 25, 1914. She was a lifelong resident of Shongaloo and a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church where she served as musician and church clerk. She was a retired school teacher, having taught first grade at Shongaloo High School for 31 years. After retiring, she became an accomplished artist.
Mrs. Burns was a graduate of Shongaloo High School, attended Baptist Bible Institute (now New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary) and graduated from Normal College (now Northwestern State University) with a degree in education.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Katie Adkins O'Bier and Jim Fred O'Bier; and husband, A.J. Burns.
She is survived by her three sons, Kerry Oliver Burns and wife Elaine of Minden, Henry Lee Burns and wife Lynette of Haughton, A.J. Burns Jr. and wife Jolynn of West Monroe; three sisters, Irene O'Bier Swan of Corpus Christi, Texas , Linda O'Bier Thigpen of Shreveport, Lavinia O'Bier Walker and husband Truman of Minden; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of wonderful friends and former students.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kevin Burns, David Burns, Al Blount, Jason Burns, Chris Burns, Jamie Burns, and A.J. Burns III.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Alton Harrington
Graveside services for Mr. Alton Harrington, 46, were to be held at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 12, 2002, at Minden Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Pate officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mr. Harrington, a native and resident of Minden, Passed away Monday, Sept. 9, in Shreveport. He was a carpenter.
Mr. Harrington is survived by his parents, Curtis and Inez Harrington of Minden; brother, Julius Marvin Harrington of Minden; uncles, Cecil Harrington and wife Viola Harrington of Haughton, Denton McEachern and wife Lottie of Minden; Benny McGrew and wife Altee of Denham Springs, Texas .; one niece, April Lynn Harrington of Minden; and a host of other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Harrington, Denton McEachern, Steve McEachern, Michael McEachern, Randy Burrows, and Don McGrew.

Elbert Wilkerson
Funeral services for Mr. Elbert Wilkerson, 93, were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Bobby McGee and the Rev. Randy Hales officiating. Burial followed at Salem Cemetery in Dubach.
Mr. Wilkerson, a resident of Minden, Passed away Monday, Sept. 9, in Shreveport. He was a farmer.
He is survived by is wife, Eunice Elaine Napper Wilkerson of Minden; sons, Bobby Wilkerson and wife Nelda Kay of Stonewall, Terry Wilkerson and wife Penny of Read Oak, Texas , and Danny Wilkerson and wife Diana of Midlothian, Texas ; daughters, Louvonia Haynie and husband Revis of New Caney, Texas ; and Nelda Grace Martin of Friendswood, Texas ; sister, Maudell Blassich of Tyler, Texas ; grandchildren, Ruth Haynie, Robin Gentry, Scott Martin, Emily Wilson, Sabrina Wilkerson, Mandy Wilkerson, Tommy John Wilkerson, Tony Dobbs, Tim Dobbs, and Josh Dewey; great-grandchildren, Hailey Gentry, Amanda Martin, and Trevor Dobbs.
Pallbearers were Lonnie Simpson, Jim Cox, Lee Walker, Dan McMahone, Ralph Whitlock and Brian Mixon.

Louise Perkins
Graveside services for Ms. Louise A. Perkins, 77, were to be held at 10 a.m., today, Sept. 10, 2002, at Minden Cemetery with the Rev. Judy Bazer officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Ms. Perkins, a native of Shreveport and a resident of Minden, Passed away Monday, Sept. 9, in Minden.
She was a retired material manager with P & S Hospital.
She is survived by special friends, Faye Walker and family of Minden; Joyce Duck and family of Minden; and Debbie Miller and family of Dubberly.

Joe Booth Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Joe Robert Booth Jr., 25, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 9, 2002, at Texarkana Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Dehart officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Texarkana.
Mr. Booth, a native of Shreveport and a resident of Texarkana, Passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, in Coffee City, Texas . He was born April 21, 1977. He worked in the construction force and was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by one son, Zachary Booth of Minden; his parents, Joe and Janet Booth of Texarkana; two brothers, Clint Booth and Sean Booth of Texarkana; two sisters, Chasity Macon of Haughton and Patricia Booth of Texarkana; his grandparents, Charles and Caroline Prestridge of Plain Dealing; and a number of aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Lisa Garms
Funeral services for Mrs. Lisa D. Garms will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Sept. 9, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Garms Passed away Friday, Sept. 6, in Humble, Texas .
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Atascocita in Humble.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cecile "Tootsie" Patterson.
She is survived by her husband, Alan B. Garms; son, William B. Garms; father, Leroy Patterson; brother, Byron and sister-in-law Kim Patterson; and numerous family and friends.
