Dana Botzong Beckworth
Funeral services for Mrs. Dana Botzong Beckworth, 87 of Minden will be held at 11 a.m., Friday Aug. 9 at Rose-Neath Minden Chapel. The Rev. Wayne DuBose is officiating. interment will follow at the Minden Cemetery under the direction of Rose Neath. Visitation begins today a 5 p.m.
Mrs. Beckworth Passed away on Aug. 6 at her residence, following a sudden illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. and Delta Jones Botzong; one sister, Alice Botzong Voorhies; a brother, Johnny Botzong and her husband Joe B. Beckworth.
She worked as a claims supervisor with the Louisiana State Employment Office, retiring after 47 years of service. At the time of her retirement, she was the only remaining staff member of the six appointed to the Louisiana State Employment Office. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Minden and was once listed "Who's Who" among American Women.
Survivors include: nephews, Larry W. Botzong, Jack and Jimmie Lou Voorhies, Jerry D. and Bobble Voorhies, all of Minden; a dear, devoted friend and caretaker, Lucille Shine of Minden. And a number of great nieces and nephews.

Arthur Calton
Funeral services for Mr. Arthur Red Calton will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at Harrison Chapel Baptist Church in Springhill. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Homer under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Family hour will be held from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the church.

Emma Lee Bell
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Lee Bell will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at May Flower Baptist Church in Minden. Burial will follow at May Flower Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. prior to services.

Aubria L. Disotell
Funeral services for Mr. Aubria L. Disotell, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. M.L. Moore, pastor of Haughton United Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will follow at Old Sarepta Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Mr. Disotell, a native of Webster Parish and a resident of Minden, Passed away Sunday, Aug. 4, in Minden. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his sisters, Flavia Kenesson and husband Robert of Bossier City, and Faye Meunier of Haughton; brother, Earl Disotell and wife Janice of Haughton; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Florence Dillon
Graveside services for Mrs. Florence Dillon, 88, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 31, 2003, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Ichter officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mrs. Dillon, a native of Sabine Parish and a resident of Minden, Passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, in Minden. She was a retired public health nurse.
She is survived by her special friend, Jeannine Miller.

Odessa Watson
Funeral services for Mrs. Odessa Ward Watson, 94, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Mt. Zion CME Church in Minden with the Rev. Charlie Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Doyline under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Homer.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today, Jan. 31, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Watson, a resident of Doyline, Passed away Monday, Jan. 27. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit and dedication to family, church and her community. She served as a faithful member of New Zion Baptist Church until her death. She was honored as one of the oldest members of her church. Her meekness and service to her family, church and community will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roosevelt Watson; and daughters, Neva Anderson and Othello Jones.
She is survived by her daughters, Castoria Patterson of Inglewood, Calif., and Levion Gandy of Minden; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 34 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family, friends, nephews and grandsons.

Eddie Lewis
Funeral services for Mr. Eddie "Big Ed" L. Lewis, 44, were to be held at 11:30 a.m. today, Jan. 30, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Jim Phillips officiating. Burial was to follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis, a native of Leachville, Ark., and a resident of Minden, Passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28 in Minden. He worked for Universal Compression, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and June Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Rupert Lewis; son, Drew Lewis; daughter, Jennifer Sanders; sister, Anna Jo Morgan; granddaughter, Taylor Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were to be Frankie Chanlor, Jared Timmons, Gary Sexton, Patony Morrow, Terry Rupert and Steve Rupert.

Lucille Miller
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Miller, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Jeff Saxton officiating. Burial will follow at Brushwood Cemetery in Dubberly.
Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. today, Jan. 30, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Miller, a native of Rayville and a resident of Dubberly, Passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, in Minden. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Duncan Miller; and son, Curtis Miller.
She is survived by her sons, Cleva and wife Gaye Miller of Minden, Billy and wife Sue Miller of Dubberly, Duncan Jr. and wife Tammy Miller of Minden, and Willie F. "Fat" and wife Debbie Miller of Dubberly; daughters, Alma and husband James Aultman of Dubberly, Helen and husband John Swilley of Minden, and Eunice and husband Verlon Arinder of Dubberly; sister, Bulah Lee of Minden; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dallas Walker Sr.
Funeral services for Deacon Dallas Walker Sr., 86, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Faith Memorial Baptist Church in Gibsland with the Rev. Preston Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery in Gibsland.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home with family hour from 6 until 8 p.m. at Springville United Baptist Church of Gibsland, where he faithfully served as the deacon of his church.
Mr. Walker, a native of Gibsland, Passed away Friday, Jan. 24, in Minden. He was born Feb. 5, 1916, to Jerry Wilson and Minerva Walker.
He is survived by five sons, Carnell Brown Sr. of Sacramento, Calif., Dallas Walker Jr., of Sacramento, James Edward Walker of Monroe, Titus Mage Walker of Gibsland, and Ezra Rogers Walker of Bossier City; five daughters, Flora Dale Goree of Alexandria, Emma Lee Smith of Gibsland, Jerelean Phillips of Sacramento, Diane McGlothen of Rialto, Calif., and Naomi Walker of Gibsland; one sister, Essielean Bailey of Lufkin, Texas ; 28 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Samuel Foster
Funeral services for Mr. Samuel Douglas Foster, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Larry Hatcher officiating and the Rev. Mark Eakin assisting. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. today, Jan. 29, at the funeral home.
Mr. Foster, a native of Gibsland and a resident of Minden, Passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, in Minden. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Minden and was a past member of Woodman of the World.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Foster; and son, Billy Foster.
He is survived by his sons, Donald Foster and wife Bobbie of Minden, John Foster and wife Linda of Shreveport, and Bobby Foster and wife Sheila of Shreveport; daughters, Betty Ware and husband Ramon of Minden, Sarah Page and husband Roy of Castor and Sandra Foster of Minden; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Lula Belle McKinney
Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Belle McKinney, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Tom Brown and the Rev. Glen Crow officiating. Burial will follow at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sibley.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Jan. 29, at the funeral home.
Mrs. McKinney, a resident of Yellow Pine, Passed away Monday, Jan. 27. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit and dedication to family, church and her community. She served as secretary/treasurer for Yellow Pine Christian Church until her death and was honored for 52 years of service as an elections commissioner. Her service to family, friends and community will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene McKinney.
She is survived by her son, William McKinney and wife Mary of Yellow Pine; grandchildren, Bryan McKinney of Yellow Pine, Michael McKinney and wife Jessica of St. Louis, Mo.; of 12 siblings, one sister, Opal Corbin of Minden; and many well-loved nieces and nephews.
The family hopes that they remember her as fondly as she remembered them.
Pallbearers will be P.M. Alexander, B.M. Lemay, Horace Gale Alexander, Tommy Alexander, Roger Poole, and Kinkley Alexander.
The family requests that family, friends and neighbors remember her in a way most meaningful to her - flowers, an act of kindness, a gentle thought.

Ruth Gordon
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Smith Gordon, 86, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. today, Jan. 28, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gordon, a native of Gilbert and a resident of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, in North Port, Ala. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Tom Gordon of Tuscaloosa; daughters, Jimmie Adams of Gary, Texas , and Diane Shaw of Arlington, Texas ; sister, Callie Lofton of Minden; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Jimmie Gray Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Jasper Gray Sr., 57, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 28, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with Michael Gray and the Rev. Leo Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Minden Cemetery.
Mr. Gray, a native of Minden and a resident of Winona, Texas , Passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, in Winona. He was a welder for Goodwin Welding Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Doris Gray, and brothers, Garvin and Richard Gray.
He is survived by his son, Jimmie J. Gray Jr. and wife Lottie of Winona; daughter, Crystal Kervin and Billie Bostwick of Sibley; sisters, Melba G. Sanders and husband Sherwood of Pittsburgh, Texas , Susie G. Perry of Wyllie, Texas , Robbie G. Monroe and husband Walter of Minden; sister-in-law, Margaret Gray; brother, Sammy Gray and wife Cynthia of Wyllie; grandchildren, Abbie Gray, Matthew Kervin, Kimberly Kervin, Colby Slayton, Jacob Gray, and Brodi Bostwick.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Michael, Mark, David, Russell, Aaron, and Kevin.

Sue Murtishaw
Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Childs Murtishaw, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Evergreen Baptist Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Ichter officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Jan. 28, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Murtishaw, a native of Evergreen and a resident of Minden, Passed away Monday, Jan. 27, in Minden. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie Childs; and husband, Samuel W. Murtishaw.
She is survived by her son, Edward Murtishaw of Spurger, Texas ; step-daughters, Marion Bridges of Baton Rouge, and Janice Malone of Houston, Texas ; sister, Patsy Lowe of Minden; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Regina Doty
Funeral services for Mrs. Regina Doty, 75, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Sibley with the Rev. James Landfair officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Cemetery in Sibley under the direction of Miller-Pioneer Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Doty, a resident of Sibley, Passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Willis Knighton Health System in Shreveport.
She is survived by her mother, Zolar Mae Butler of Sibley; son, Roger Heard and wife Brenda of Houston, Texas , five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

David Bazer
Funeral services for Mr. David Gene Bazer, 57, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at First United Methodist Church in Minden with the Rev. Terry Willis, the Rev. Bill Moon and the Rev. Terral Lowe officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at Walton Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Jan. 23, at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held from 2 until 3 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Carthage, Texas .
Rev. Bazer, a native of Carthage and a resident of Doyline, Passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Christus Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, following a short fight with cancer. He was a member of the Lions Club where he served as district governor and in multiple other offices, the Masonic Lodge, Sons of the Confederate Vets, and Pastfinders Treasure Hunting Club.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was serving as pastor of Evergreen Union Church, Colquitt United Methodist Church and Whitehall United Methodist Church.
He will always be remembered for his quick wit and never-ending sense of humor. He had a passion for his family and the people who called him "Pastor."
He is survived by his parents, the Rev. A.P. Bazer and Eugenia Bradley Bazer of Carthage; his wife, Judith Boyd Bazer; two sons, Robert Bazer and wife Shonda of Monroe, and Matt Bazer of Doyline; two grandchildren, Jessie Bazer and Chapman Bazer; two brothers, Jerry Bazer and wife Martha of Carthage, and Gary Truett Bazer and wife Hope of Keithville; and special friend, Scooter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
