Family hour will be held from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. today, Monday, July 28 at the funeral home.
Nadia Passed away Wednesday, July 23 after a serious car accident.
She is survived by her son, KaDarious "Tyreke" Phenix; parents, Shelia B. Phenix of Minden and Gregory Manning of Dallas, Texas ; one sister, Daniell Phenix of Minden; one brother, Tamerion Phenix of Minden; grandmothers, Ethel S. Phenix and Mary Ann Manning, both of Minden; aunts, Gloria Shyne (Larry), Debra E. Phenix, Dorothy "Evone" Phenix and Martha Joe Crow, all of Minden; uncles, Elijah "Sonny" Phenix III, Ricky L. Phenix, Chris Manning, all of Minden, and Keith B. Phenix of Monroe; best friend and cousin, Kanisha "PeeWee" Phenix; special friend, Adrian Combs; cousins, Kiah Davis, Franscios Phenix, LaTonya Phenix, Ashley Shyne, Gabriella Phenix, Kendall Burrel and Keith B. Phenix; and many other relatives and friends.

Jeff Wiltcher
Memorial services for Jeff Wiltcher, 32, will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 28, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with Dr. David Peterson of Pleasure Point Baptist Church officiating.
Mr. Wiltcher Passed away Saturday, July 26, in Minden.
He is survived by his mother, Laverne Foster, and step-father, Joseph Lamar Foster of Claiborne Parish; daughter, Tori Lynn Wiltcher of Bossier City; sister, Lori Ann Wiltcher of Heflin; and three nephews, Eric, Heath and Caleb Williams.

John D. Jackson
Funeral services for Mr. John D. Jackson , 55, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Growing Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Growing Valley Cemetery under the direction of Kennon's Mortuary, Inc., in Minden.
Visitation will be held today, July 25, with family hour from 6 until 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Jackson Passed away Saturday, July 19, in Middletown, Ohio.
He is survived by two sons, Clinton Jackson and Derek Jackson , both of Middletown; two sisters, Vera Hawkins of Dallas, Texas , and Clara Russell of Los Angeles, Calif.; three brothers, Clint Jackson Jr., Nolen Jackson , and Abner Jackson , all of Dallas; two aunts, Vester Thornton and Vera Williams, both of Minden; nieces, Nethel Jackson of Dallas, and Catherine Armstrong of Austin, Texas ; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Herbert McCauley
Funeral services Mr. Herbert McCauley, 74, will be held at noon Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Lewisville, CME Church in Plain Dealing with the Rev. Harry Davis Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Clarks Cemetery in Plain Dealing under direction of Miller-Pioneer Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 7 until 8 p.m. today, July 25, at Calhoun CME Church.
Mr. McCauley Passed away Sunday, July 20, at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport.
He is survived by his wife Mamie McCauley of Plain Dealing; two sons, Garland McCauley and Herbert T. McCauley, both of Plain Dealing; daughter, Bridgett McCauley Scott of Las Vegas, Nev.; four brothers, Marshall McCauley of Houston, Texas , Huey P. McCauley of Lewisville, Ky., Earl C. McCauley of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jack McCauley of Gilam; sisters, Deloris Johnson of Inglewood, Calif., Beverly Jackson of Los Angeles, Shirley Smith of Seaside, Calif., Evelyn Wilson of California; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Jeremy Priest
Funeral services for Mr. Jeremy Wayne Priest, 19, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, at Whispering Pines Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Carter officiating and the Rev. Pat Windham assisting. Burial will follow at Whispering Pines Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at the church.
Mr. Priest, a native of Minden and a resident of Dubberly, Passed away Thursday, July 24, in Shreveport. He was a clerk for Circle K Stores. He Passed away due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident early Wednesday morning.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ernest and Sallie Mae Priest; and uncle, Eugene Priest.
He is survived by his parents, Wayne and Sharon Priest of Dubberly; maternal grandparents, A.L. and Johnnie Hicks of Dubberly; fiancé, Rebekah Sullivan of Minden; one sister, Jennifer Priest of Dubberly; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jerry Hamm
Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Milton Alexander Hamm, 47, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with Dr. Morris Robe officiating. Burial will follow at Sibley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 9 p.m. today, July 24, at the funeral home.
Mr. Hamm, a native of Shreveport and a resident of Sibley, Passed away Wednesday, July 23, in Shreveport.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Gussie Seegers; aunt, Joy Seegers Shelton and uncle, Floyd Seegers Jr.; and nephew, Michael Haynie.
He is survived by his mother, Maxine Seegers Rosier of Ringgold; one daughter, Danielle Hamm; one son, Christopher Hamm of Rayne; sister, Judy Chandler and husband Allen Ray of Sibley; niece, Dianna Smith of Castor; nephew, Tony Chandler of Houston, Texas ; three very special cousins, Danny and Rusty Roton of Haughton and Dianne Chandler of Salt Lake City; and one very special person, Romona Hamm of Rayne.

Windy Thomas
Funeral services for Ms. Windy Jacob Thomas will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Living Word Worship Center in Minden. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the funeral home.
Ms. Thomas, a native of Shreveport, Passed away Sunday, July 20. She was born May 18, 1957, to Cleller Jacob and Elie Taylor of Minden. She was a member of Living Word Worship Center, where she was active in the choir. She graduated from Minden High School and Northwest Louisiana Technical College with a computer specialist degree, and was pursuing a degree in office systems technology.
She is survived by her daughter, Vatishala Thomas; son, Johnnerick Thomas; her mother, Cleller Jacob; her father, Elie Taylor ; devoted sisters and brothers, Patsy Williams, Larry Jacob, Jeffery Jacob, Venika Jacob, Luther Jacob, Shelia Johnson , Timothy Taylor , Mary Rigsby, Marie Spivey, Regina Lawson and Deidra Al-Mubd; nieces and nephews, Chondrick Lofton, Amber Jacob, Cameron Eason, and Chondrick Jr.; and numerous cousins, relatives and friends.

John D. Jackson
Funeral services for Mr. John D. Jackson , 55, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Growing Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sheppard Street Cemetery under the direction of Kennon's Mortuary, Inc. in Minden.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 25, with family hour from 6 until 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Jackson Passed away Saturday, July 19, in Middleton, Ohio.

Dale Reynolds
Military graveside services for Mr. Dale Reynolds, 53, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Mt. Sterling Cemetery with the Rev. Don Tinsley officiating. Services are under the direction of Hopkins County Military Coalition.
Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. today, July 23, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas .
Mr. Reynolds, a resident of Sulphur Springs, Passed away Sunday, July 20, at Veterans' Hospital in Dallas. He was born Nov. 25, 1949 in Sulphur Springs to Haskell W. and Geraldine Stanley Reynolds. He married Vickie Kay Thomason in Cotton Valley on Sept. 18, 1970. He was a member of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Jason Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Tim Reynolds, Micah Reynolds, both of Sulphur Springs; three brothers, Robert Reynolds of Sulphur Springs, Joe Reynolds of Pittsburg and Randy Reynolds of Terrell; four grandchildren, Brittany Kay Reynolds, Tiffany Ann Reynolds, Katelyn May Reynolds, and Kelsey Nicole Reynolds.

Evelyn Franklin
Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Franklin will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Blue Run Baptist Church in Minden. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Minden under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Family hour will be held from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the funeral home.

Cheryl Robinson
Graveside services for Mrs. Cheryl Stewart Robinson, 50, were held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2003, at City Cemetery in Minden following a memorial service held in Dallas. Services were under the direction of Restland Funeral Home in Dallas.
Mrs. Robinson, a resident of Garland, Texas , Passed away Friday, July 18, at her residence. She was born Nov. 3, 1952, in Abbeville, but was raised in Minden. In 1970, she graduated from Minden High School. While attending Louisiana State University, she met John Robinson. The two were married on Aug. 11, 1973. The following year, she graduated from LSU. In 1976, the couple moved to Dallas, Texas .
She worked for Aetna Investment Services for 19 years. She also volunteered her time to help recruit students for LSU. While her daughters were young, she participated in various roles at school. She will be most remembered for her incredible creative talents. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Richardson, Texas .
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Webster Stewart III.
She is survived by her husband, John Charles Robinson; daughters, Catherine Stewart Robinson of Garland, Lauren Robinson Hickey and husband Russell Thomas Hickey of Kansas City, Mo.; brother, David Dougald Stewart of Houston, Texas ; niece, Claire Morgan Stewart of Leeds, Mass.; brother, Dr. Robert Webster Stewart; sister-in-law, Lisa Martinez Stewart; nieces, Julianna Nicole Stewart and Reagan Danielle Stewart of Bossier City; and her mother, Barbara Stewart Shaffer and husband Vernon Shaffer of Minden.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Susan G. Komen foundation of Minden.

Ethel Sanderson
Graveside services for Mrs. Ethel Marie Sanderson, 69, were to be held at 10 a.m. today, July 22, 2003, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Carter officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mrs. Sanderson, a native of Shongaloo and a resident of Heflin, Passed away Monday, July 21, in Heflin. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, James C. Sanderson; sister, Sarran Miller and Doris Potts, both of Minden; brother, Bobby Faircloth; and a host of friends.

Roy Mason
Funeral services for Mr. Roy Amos Mason were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Chapel of Memorial in Homer. Burial followed at Hightower Cemetery in Homer under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.

Zell Parish
Funeral services for Mrs. Zell Brown Parish, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Weldon Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Davis and the Rev. Neil Everett officiating. Burial will follow at Weldon Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, July 21, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer.
Mrs. Parish, a native of Bernice, Passed away Saturday, July 19, in Minden. She was a lifelong member of Weldon Baptist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born May 28, 1918.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Fannie Brown; one son, James Allen Parish; seven brothers, Clyde Brown, Raford Brown, Bill Brown, Perry Brown, Bud Brown, J.B. Brown and J.C. Brown; and two sisters, Odell Brown and Euna Foster.
She is survived by one daughter, Nila Johnson of Minden; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Judy Parish of Minden, Roger and Linda Parish of Shreveport, and Bob and Joann Parish of Houston, Texas ; one sister, Dorothy Bertrand of Homer; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Simpson, Mike Hollenshead, Richard Flurry, Nicholas Sadler, Donny Odom and Danny Lee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Weldon Baptist Church Building Fund.

Ernest Young
Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Edward Young, 84, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003, at Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Shongaloo with the Rev. Whitlock of Minden officiating. Burial will follow at Old Shongaloo Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary of Springhill.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. today, July 18, at the funeral home.
Mr. Young, a resident of Shongaloo, Passed away Tuesday, July 15. He was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church since 1981. He was an active member of Masonic Lodge #352, becoming a perpetual member in the recent past. Having joined the Masons almost 50 years ago, he has been recognized in leadership as a master in 1986, a Junior Deacon and a senior deacon in the District Lodge.
He was born on May 22, 1919, in Gordon, Neb., to parents, Ernest Gideon and Stella Violet Young. Weighing only two pounds at birth, he truly was a gift from the Lord for all who knew and loved him. His maternal grandfather, Burton White , was a school teacher in Washington , who moved to Nebraska to open a mercantile store. Customers arrived in covered wagons and bought "everything from clothing to ice cream."
Mr. Young spent his childhood and adolescent years "plowing corn for 50 cents a day," then left Nebraska in 1936 at age 16, during a family relocation to south Texas . In San Perlita, Texas , he worked digging water wells, and was a member of the team who dug the first Artesian water well on the famous and historic King Ranch.
A class of 1937 graduate of San Perlita High School, he set out to make life for himself and got into the oil field, working as a young man, eventually moving to New Iberia in 1956. He loved working on offshore oil rigs and eventually retired to farming, gardening and canning in Shongaloo, after a lifetime of service in the oil industry.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy, and his wife of 25 years, Myrtis Elizabeth Newsom Rodriguez Young of Shongaloo; his daughter, Sue Annette Rodriguez Hensley and his nephew, Roland Young Jr.
A beloved father, husband, and grandfather, he will be missed by his three grandchildren who survive him, Roy Austin Hensley of Plano, Texas , Elizabeth Annette Joy of Bailey's Prairie, Texas , and Maria Patience Rose of Milan, Italy; siblings, Fern Smith and husband Willard, Roland Ray Young and wife Jean, and his nieces and nephews, Carla and Clark Young, and Larry and Gary Smith.
Pallbearers will be Waldo Fuller, Bill Strange, Clay Strange, John Stanley, Jim Baugh and Robert Charles. Honorary pallbearers will be Urel Cox, Donnie Morgan, Marvin Cockrell, M.D. Adkins and the members of Shongaloo Lodge #352 F&AM.

Alvin J. Royer Sr.
Graveside services for Mr. Alvin J. Royer Sr., 76, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003, at Doyline Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Carlton officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 18, at the funeral home.
Mr. Royer, a native of Lafayette and a resident of Doyline, Passed away Tuesday, July 15, in Minden. He was a Mason and a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice "Bea" Royer; children, Alvin Royer Jr., Vickie Anderson, Shirley Cramer, and Eddie Turner; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
