Graveside services for Mr. A.K."Kit" Tuggle Sr., 88, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at Tuggle Cemetery on Hwy. 146, near Homer. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Jan. 13, at the funeral home.
Mr. Tuggle, a resident of Minden, Passed away Monday, Jan. 12, at Town and Country Health and Rehab in Minden. He was born March 8, 1915.
He was preceded in death by his five brothers, W.S. Tuggle, L.M. Tuggle, R.C. Tuggle, Jimmy Tuggle, and Jake Tuggle.
He is survived by one son, A.K."Sonny" Tuggle Jr. and wife Gail of Minden; two daughters, Jan Faulk and husband Bill of Athens, and Donna Black and husband Gus of Frierson; three sisters, Della Kramer of Mobile, Ala., Mary Cook of Daphne, Ala., and Mable Wren of Minden; three grandsons; six granddaughters; 15 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Terry Blagg, Jackie Blagg, Clint Faulk, Paul Meeks, James Roberts and Dennis Price. Alternates are Rock Tuggle, Glen Wren, Gus Black and Jimmy Lay.
Memorials may be made to the Tuggle Cemetery Fund in c/o Rock Tuggle, 1361 Hwy. 146, Homer LA 71040.

Mary McFarland
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Alice Mason McFarland, 83, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Earhart officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Jan. 12, at the funeral home.
Mrs. McFarland, a native of Hinds County, Miss., and a resident of Minden for more than 50 years, Passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, in Minden. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her brother, G.S. Mason; and her grandson, Randy McFarland.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Grady McFarland of Minden; sons, Harvey McFarland and wife Louise of Sibley, Alfred McFarland and wife Elaine of Haughton; daughters, Dorothy McFarland of Minden, and Kalen Davis of Woodland Hills, Calif.; sisters, Elizabeth Howell of Jackson , Miss., Ella Mae Lay of Seviervill, Tenn., and Jeannie Chishlom of Lexington, Miss.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Welch, Ray McFarland, Billy McFarland, Raymond Goolsby, Michael Humphreys, Kurt Humphreys and Lanny McWilliams.

Wiley C. McLemore
Funeral services for Mr. Wiley C. McLemore, 68, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Ruple Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Gill officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held all day today, Jan. 12, at the funeral home.
Mr. McLemore, a native of Pelahatchie, Miss., and a resident of Shongaloo, Passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, in Minden. He was a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Dewayne McLemore; and daughter, Laura McLemore; and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Hattie Lunsford McLemore of Shongaloo; sons, Mikel McLemore and wife Melissa of Donaldsonville, Donald Ray McLemore of Springfield, Mo., Phillip Ray Lunsford and wife Nikki of Springhill, Daniel Lee McLemore of Shongaloo; daughters, Lori Ann Taylor of Donaldsonville, and Rhonda Lynn Boyce and husband Nick of Shongaloo; sisters, Sue Chamblee of Doyline, Rita Holloway of Haughton, Berkey Garner of Newellton, and Annie Belle Carney and husband Harvey of Bastrop; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Grace Gribble
Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Staggs Gribble, 80, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. David Morgret officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Springhill.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. today, Jan. 12, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gribble, a native of Pottsville, Ark., and a resident of Minden, Passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, in Shreveport. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Gribble II of Marshall, Texas ; son, Gary Gribble and wife Glenda of Marshall; daughter-in-law, Gloria Martin of Hall Summit; sisters, Lois Jones of Little Rock, Ark., and Carrie Helen Coulter of Arkadelphia, Ark.; four grandchildren, Karen Turner of Minden, Stephanie Keefe of Longview, Texas , Cynthia Gribble of Marshall, and Angela Gribble of Longview; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Peri, Alexis Turner and Tara Welch.

Brenda Grelle
Funeral services for Ms. Brenda Joyce "B.J." Grelle will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 9, 2004, at Bailey Mortuary in Cotton Valley with the Rev. Jim Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Cotton Valley Cemetery.
Ms. Grelle, a native of Missouri and a resident of Dallas, Texas , Passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, in Jasper, Ala., following a lengthy illness. She was a former resident of Cotton Valley. She was born Nov. 9, 1941.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A.B. and Coy Panell Hicks; and three brothers, Bertie Hicks, Leroy Hicks and A.B. Hicks Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Kerry Grelle and wife Torrie of Jasper, Kory Grelle and wife Stephanie of Cedar Park, Texas ; grandchildren, Colby Grelle, Kenzie Grelle, Kody Grelle, Kaitlin Grelle, Kaleb Grelle; brothers and sisters, Harold Hicks and wife Dawna of West Memphis, Ark., Delane Hicks and wife Jolene of Sarepta, Paulette Lee and husband Don of Bossier City, Miles Hicks and wife Lynn of Cotton Valley, Judy Maxwell and husband Sidney of Cotton Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Trey Maxwell, Trent Maxwell, Kevin Hicks, Kenny Rozelle, Jose Campos and Mark Patten.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice or another charity of choice.

Jeannette Chumbley
Funeral services for Mrs. Jeannette Johnson Chumbley, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Tom Carlton officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visitation was to be held at 10 a.m. until, today, Jan. 7, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Chumbley, a native of Leslie and a resident of Doyline, Passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, in Monroe. She graduated from Doyline High School, attended LSU and Louisiana Tech. She retired with 33 years of service with the government. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Doyline.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert H. Johnson and Eugenia G. Johnson ; husband, Clinton Chumbley; and son Jason Chumbley.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jeanette Causey and husband Milton of Monroe; grandchildren, Paulette Causey Grube and husband Paul of West Monroe, Jeff Causey of Dallas, Texas , Clint Causey of Monroe, Melissa Chumbley Fisher and husband Josh of Shreveport, and Mandy Chumbley of Bossier City and Ruston; one great-grandson, Jason Causey of West Monroe; two brothers, Billy Johnson of Doyline, Herb Johnson of Doyline; two sisters, Margaret Lynn and husband Bruce of Belcher, and Jettie Jane James and husband George of Waterproof; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wilkerson and husband (RET.) Col. Charles W. Wilkerson of Virginia Beach, Va.; brother-in-law, Montgomery Chumbley of Miami, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Causey, Clint Causey, Bolton James, Orrin James, Bruce Lynn Jr. and Brad Johnson . Honorary pallbearers will be Howell Perritt, Eugene Francis, Bob Shelton, Frank Pellitier, Loyd Pearce, Robin Rowland, and Charles W. Wilkerson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Doyline, or Fillmore Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 1144, Shreveport, LA 71166-1144.

Frances Cramer
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Cramer, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 7, 2004, at Hebron Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Nutt and the Rev. Robert Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Bernice.
Mrs. Cramer, a resident of Summerfield, Passed away Monday, Jan. 5, in Bernice, following a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Summerfield and a longtime member of Hebron Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Curtis Cramer of Summerfield; daughters, Charlotte Moring and husband Joe of Summerfield, Diane Thompson and husband Carl of Minden; grandchildren, Gerald Wayne Moring and wife Debra of Summerfield, Mickey Moring Turner and husband Jason of Summerfield, Kim Nugent and husband Wynn of Bossier City, Stacey Crawford and husband Brian of Bossier City; great-grandchildren, Luke Moring, Ashlyn Turner, Jacob Moring and Landon Crawford; sisters, Flora Bell Roberts of Ruston, Daisey Cramer of Poyner, Texas , and Betty Green of Bernice.
Memorials may be made to Hebron Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.

Allen Tomlin, DDS
A memorial service for Dr. Allen J. Tomlin, 80, was to be held at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 6, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. George Dyer officiating. Burial was to follow at Springhill Cemetery.
Dr. Tomlin, a native of Mansfield, Passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, at Grace Home in Shreveport. Known as "Poppy" to his beloved family and friends, he was born Oct. 25, 1923. Most of his young life was spent in Springhill. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force in World War II, prior to graduating in pre-dental from Baylor University and from Loyola Dental School. He later graduated from Ohio State University in anesthesia.
He was a kind, compassionate and gentle oral surgeon for 31 years in Shreveport, Minden and Ruston before taking a medical retirement in 1983. While serving as an oral surgeon, he was a distinguished member of several organizations including Delta Sigma Dental Fraternity; Northwest Dental Society, president 1959; Louisiana Dental Association; American Dental Association; Louisiana Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, president 1980-81; Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons; American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons; and the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology.
Dr. Tomlin was preceded in death by his parents, Allie Dennis Tomlin and William L. Tomlin; three sisters, Mabel Tomlin Turner and husband Perry L. Turner, Sybil Tomlin Stephenson and husband Bob, and Mildred Tomlin.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary Rockett Tomlin; sons, Dr. Thomas A. Tomlin and wife Pam of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Jarrel T. Tomlin of Milledgeville, Ga., Dan T. Tomlin of Milledgeville, Danny Wilson and wife Melinda of Minden, and Tim Wilson and wife Robbie of Minden; daughters, Sue Tomlin of Milledgeville, Laura Tomlin Cumbest and husband Randy of Warrenville, S.C., and Laura Wilson Humphrey of Minden; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a number of beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and special friend, Leslie Humphrey.
Poppy loved life, family, friends, fishing, flying, laughter, and he loved and trusted in the "Good Lord."
Pallbearers will be Gordan Jarnagin, Dr. William Haynie Sr., Dr. Glenn Pittman, Russell Adams, Dr. J.V. Jones, Jim Brown, William Reyenga, Hal Jackson and J.C. Johnson .
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Home in Shreveport, or to the American Cancer Society.

Loffie C. Allen
Funeral services for Mrs. Loffie C. Allen, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at St. Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. B. J. Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Shepherd Street Cemetery under the direction of Kennon's Mortuary, Inc. in Minden.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 2, at the funeral home.
Loffie Caldwell Allen was born May 24, 1913, to Mr. Elias and Mrs. Loffie Theus Caldwell. She Passed away on Dec. 30, 2003.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy Allen; her parents; her siblings, two brothers and a sister.
She is survived by an aunt, Elmira Luckett of Los Angeles, Calif.; nieces and nephews, Mary L. Stringer of Ruston, Elizabeth Berry, Willie C. Caldwell, and Charlene Caldwell, all of Midland, Texas , Mary Lou Calloway and James Edward Calloway, both of East Palto, Calif., Maetta Toliver of Shreveport, and Eliza Sanders of Los Angeles, Calif.; cousins, Edna Wynn of Oakland, Calif., Henrietta Jones of Los Angeles, and Jessie B. Collins of Hayward, Calif.; godchildren, Tiffany L. Miles, Kenrett Jefferson , and Ashley Frazier; adopted children, Jai Doyle, Lucille Cooper, Truvesta Johnson , Fayrine Kennon-Gilbert, Grover and Laverne Cleveland, Verna Walker, Travis and Gladys Critton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Billy Ray Caskey
Funeral services for Mr. Billy Ray Caskey, 68, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 2, 2004, at Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold with the Rev. Ronnie Whitlock officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Castor.
Mr. Caskey, a native of Bryceland and a resident of Castor, Passed away Tuesday, Dec. 30. He was born March 31, 1935.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen P. and Veria G. Caskey; and sister, Fayrene Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Caskey of Castor; sons, Randy Caskey and wife Debbie of Castor, Gerry Caskey and wife Ann of Dublin, Ga., Robert Caskey and wife Jenifer of Castor; daughter, Peggy Pedroza and husband Mike of Sibley; brother, Grover Melvin Caskey and wife Hester of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Pat Sandifer and husband Glynn of Bossier City; grandchildren, Craig Caskey, Hayley Caskey, Emily Caskey, Hannah Caskey, Ryan Caskey, Sarah Caskey, Sydni Caskey, Michelle Pedroza and Allie Pedroza; and a host of other relatives and friends.

James Davis
Funeral services for Mr. James A. Davis Sr., 76, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 2, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Frank Davis officiating and the Rev. Gerald Davis assisting. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Mr. Davis, a native of Kennsett, Ark., and a resident of Minden, Passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, in Minden. He was a civil engineer for Barksdale Air Force Base.
He was preceded in death by his mother, A.E. Davis; and sisters, Evelyn Lively and Frances Lightsey of Sterlington.
He is survived by his wife Ellen "Miss Polly" Davis of Minden; two sons, James A. "Buddy" Davis Jr. and wife Chris of Chesapeake, Va., and Jeffrey Alan Davis and wife Natalie of Bossier City; two daughters, Ellen "Kay" Davis Dornier and husband Joseph of Metarie, and Pam D. Davis of Minden; grandchildren, Joey and Taylor Dornier of Metarie; brother, the Rev. Gerald Davis and wife Rae of Welch; sister, Martha Stratton of Minden; sister-in-law, Lorraine Clark of Wesson, Ms.; brother-in-law, Thomas E. Murry and wife Barbara of Brookhaven, Ms., and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Johnny Hightower
Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Hightower, 57, will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Miller-Pioneer Funeral Home with Dr. B.J. Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Sheppard Street Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. today, Jan. 2, at the funeral home.
Mr. Hightower, a resident of Minden, Passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Minden Medical Center.
He is survived by his father, Johnny Hightower Sr.; mother, Mildred Davis of Minden; wife, Lillie Todd of Denver, Colo.; former wife, LaDell Broadnax of Longview, Texas ; sons, Johnny Hightower III, Johnard Hightower, Travodus Hightower, all of Denver; daughters, Paula Chance of Marshall, Texas , Thelma Hightower of Valencia, Calif.; brothers, Matthew Hightower and Donald Hightower, both of Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Shirley Wigley and Lelia Lang, both of Detroit; and seven grandchildren.

Katie Lazarus
Funeral services for Mrs. Katie Louise Lazarus, 89, were to be held at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 2, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Troy Parker officiating. Burial was to follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Lazarus, a native of Athens and a resident of Minden, Passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, in Minden. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise Austin and husband Eddie of Minden; brother, Alfred Mosley and wife Chris of Minden; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ethel Mathes
Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Cummings Mathes, 83, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 p.m. today, Jan. 2, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mathes, a native of Greenville, S.C., and a resident of Doyline, Passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, in Doyline.
She was a medical secretary for a hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie E. Mathes; and daughter, Linda Gail Mathes.
She is survived by one son, James E. Mathes of Doyline; two sisters, Jonnie Rae Bartlett of Roswell, N.M., and Lois Allen of Haughton.
