Christopher Cochrane
Funeral services for Mr. Christopher Joe Cochrane, 27, were held Monday, March 15, 2004, at First Baptist Church in Brinkley, Ark., with the Rev. David Thomas and the Rev. Jim McDaniel officiating. Burial followed at Cotton Plant Cemetery under the direction of Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley.
Mr. Cochrane, a native of Sherwood and a former resident of Brinkley, Passed away Friday, March 12, in an automobile accident on I-40 near Hazen, Ark. He was born in Little Rock, Ark., on Dec. 30, 1976, to Robert Joe and Debra Thomas Cochrane. He lived in the Brinkley, Cotton Plant area, and Minden until a year ago, when he moved to Sherwood. He was a graduate of Brinkley High School, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Brinkley. He was a journeyman plumber with Comfort Systems of Little Rock. He enjoyed hunting with his father and tinkering with a 1984 Chevrolet he had purchased.
He is survived by his parents of Cotton Plant and Cordova, Tenn., respectively; special friend, Leila Spurlock of Sherwood; half-sister, Lauren Johnson of Baton Rouge; stepbrother, Heath Johnson and wife Amy of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandparents, Catherine Cochrane of Cotton Plant, and John and Helen Thomas of Brinkley; two uncles, John Thomas Jr. and wife Janie of Brinkley, and David Thomas and wife Tammy of Olive Branch, Miss.; and a cousin, Chrystal Cochrane of Jonesboro, Ark.
Pallbearers were Sage Thomas, Josh Sally, Heath Johnson , Charles “Son” Johnson , Brandon Medford, Kevin Sheffer and Justin Bethell.
Memorials may be made to Cotton Plant Cemetery Association, Cotton Plant, Ark., 72036.

Helen Mason
Graveside services for Mrs. Helen Jeanette Mason, 78, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Whispering Pines Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Carter officiating. Services were under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mrs. Mason, a native of Grayson and a resident of Couchwood, Passed away Friday, March 12, in Couchwood. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dillon Mason.
She is survived by her children, Peggy Louise Howell of Couchwood, and Elvin G. Pauley; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mary Kendrick
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Kendrick, 94, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer. Burial will follow at the family cemetery in Christie’s Chapel, Ark.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today, March 16, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kendrick, a native of Kurlin, Ark., Passed away Saturday, March 13, in Des Moines, Iowa, following a short illness. She was born to Hosie and Elizabeth Christie on Aug. 17, 1909. She married Arthur W. Kendrick in 1928, and they made their home in Homer. They were blessed with four children, Thomas, Marion, Kenneth and Betty. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, attending at Union Grove, Academy Road and Homer congregations.
She was the Railway Express agent in Homer for many years. She was very involved in community activities including 4-H, Home Demonstration Club, police jury, AARP and the Council on Aging. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crafts, ceramics and sewing. She also enjoyed traveling with family. She always said her middle name was “Go.”
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur in 1967, and her second husband, Coy Beavers in 1995, after two years of marriage; her two sons, Thomas and Kenneth; her parents; brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her two daughters, Marion Huntoon of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Betty Bailey of Des Moines; two daughters-in-law, Sue Kendrick and Wanda Ballard, both of Minden; nine grandchildren, Linda Parham, Tommy Spate, Debbie Huntoon, Pam Edwards, Dan Bailey, Lisa Spillers, David Bailey, Ken Huntoon and Jennifer Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Homer Church of Christ.

Frances Perkins
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances G. Perkins, 89, will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 16, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer with the Rev. Jerry Gill officiating. Burial will follow at Minden Cemetery.
Mrs. Perkins, a resident of Homer, Passed away Sunday, March 14, at Homer Memorial Hospital. She was retired from the La. Ordinance Shell Plant, and she was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.E. Perkins; her parents, Anthony and Gertie Garriga; three sisters, Mary Fuller, Bea Wooten and Edna Garriga; and one brother, Ed Garriga.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Thomas and husband Ray of Rowlett, Texas ; one grandson, Todd Allen and wife Dion of Maybank, Texas ; one sister, Margaret Bays and husband Glen of Homer; two brothers, Joe Garriga and wife Betty of Homer and Jimmy Garriga and wife Kathy of Wylie, Texas ; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Warren Arthur Smith, David Bays, mark Poss, J.E. Hunter, Denny Wayne Bays and Dean Busby.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ruple Baptist Church.

Ava Lewis
Funeral services for Mrs. Ava “Sissy” Lewis, 46, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Whitehall Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. today, March 15, at First Baptist Church in Gibsland.
Mrs. Lewis, a native of Dallas, Texas , and a resident of Kennewick, Wash., Passed away Thursday, March 11, in Seattle, Wash. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Lewis of Kennewick; two daughters, Rachel and Kristen Lewis of Kennewick; mother, Dorothy Tyler Morris of Haughton; five sisters, Janice Willaredt of Hall Summit, Jeanette Hodges of Ponder, Texas , Deborah Powell of Norman, Ark., Diane Tyler of Chestnut, and Sandra Beene of Haughton; one brother, John Carl Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her family members.

Keith Mangrum
A memorial service for Mr. Keith Brandon Mangrum, 25, will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 15, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. J. Roddy Taylor officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mr. Mangrum, a native of Shreveport and a resident of Minden, Passed away Thursday, March 11, in Springhill. He was a welder for a construction company. Mr. Mangrum was named after his great-grandfather, Keith James.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.L. and Susie Mangrum; step-grandfather, Robert F. Burns; and great-grandparents, Keith and Frances James.
He is survived by his son, Hunter Mangrum of Minden; mother, Rebecca Clement White and husband Roger of Minden; father, George Mangrum and wife Lea of Akin, S.C.; grandparents, Joan and Joe Luck of Minden, and Guy and Evelie Clement of Lake Charles; great-grandmother, Orris Clement; sister, Georgia Mangrum of Akin; brother, Gary Seegers of Minden; one niece, Rebekah Seegers; one nephew, Ryan Seegers; special cousin, Ben Ware of Minden; aunts, Cyndy Gay and husband Kenneth of Minden, and Amanda Barber and husband Ron of Comanche, Texas ; uncles, Mark Clement and wife Lindie of Fordoche, John Mangrum and wife of Lake Charles, Robert Mangrum and wife Charlotte, J.L. Mangrum and wife Gloria, Milton “Bear” Mangrum and wife Susan, Richard Mangrum, all of Minden, Billy Don Mangrum and wife Bessie of Sibley; and numerous cousins and other relatives.

Sue Guenzler
Graveside services for Ms. Sue Davis Guenzler, 82, will be held Friday, March 12, 2004, at Forst Park Cemetery.
Ms. Guenzler, a resident of Town and Country Health and Rehab, Passed away Wednesday, March 10, in Minden.
She is survived by her sister; three sons; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Sue Guenzler
Graveside services for Ms. Sue Dairs Guenzler, 82, will be held Friday, March 12, 2004, at Forst Park Cemetery.
Ms. Guenzler, a resident of Town and Country Health and Rehab, Passed away Wednesday, March 10, in Minden.
She is survived by her sister; three sons; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Joe Bryant
Graveside services for Mr. Joe Barnett Bryant, 74, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Fuller Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 p.m. today, March 9, at the funeral home.
Mr. Bryant, a native of Shreveport and a resident of Minden, Passed away Monday, March 8, in Minden. He was a retired operations manager for Texas Gas Exploration.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sadie Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Youngblood Bryant of Minden; one son, Barry G. Bryant of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters, Jo Ellen Walley and husband Ben of Bullard, Texas , and Donna Bryant of Minden; his step-father, M.J. Lee; brothers, Alvin Bryant of Minden; three grandchildren, Candace, Jarod and Brandi; two step-grandchildren, Charlotte and Toni; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Tommy Collums
Funeral services for Mr. Tommy Curtis Collums, 60, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Bill Crider officiating. Burial will follow at Minden Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, at the funeral home.
Mr. Collums, a native and resident of Minden, Passed away Monday, March 8, in Minden. He was in retail sales. He was born Nov. 25, 1943.
He was preceded in death by his father, Byron Collums, mother Ruby Jean Jossey and step-father, Bill Jossey.
He is survived by his brother, Ronny Collums and wife Glenda of Minden; nephew, Mike Collums and wife Janna; niece, Ronda Jean Collums and fiancé, Jeremy Baldwin, all of West Palm Beach, Fla.; niece, Amy Thornhill of Minden; and numerous family members and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Joe MacIsaac, Greg Fox, Jimmy Williams, Doug McCrary, Don West and Chris McCrary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.

Lilly Martin
Funeral services for Mrs. Lilly H. Martin, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 9, 2004, at Christ the King Catholic Church with Carson LaCaze and Father Derrick Pawlowski officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park under the direction of Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton.
Mrs. Martin Passed away Saturday, March 6, at Christus Schumpert Grace Home in Shreveport after a battle with cancer. She was a homemaker, a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Gold Wives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Martin; parents, Henry and Clemie Holleman; and two brothers, George Holleman and Edward Holleman.
She is survived by her four children, William S. “Bill” Martin Jr. of Bossier City, Henry N. Martin and wife Renee of New Orleans, Lilly “Kay” Watts and husband Michael of Heflin, and Clemy L. Moore and husband Todd of Bossier City; one sister, Kathryn Johnson of New Iberia; grandchildren, Myles Martin, Jenna Martin, Brandon Moore, Mikey Watts, Martin Watts, Lilly R. James; and one great-granddaughter, Dannielle R. James.
Pallbearers will be William S. “Bill” Martin Jr., Michael Watts, Mikey Watts, Martin Watts, Todd Moore and John Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Christus Schumpert Cancer Center or Christ the King Catholic Church.

Charlie Miles
Funeral services for Mr. Charlie P. Miles were held on Monday, March 1, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Emile A. Rousseau Jr. and the Rev. Randy Brown officiating. Burial followed at Woodard Cemetery in Taylor .
Mr. Miles, a native of Gibsland, Passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, after suffering two strokes on Jan. 1. He was born on Aug. 4, 1911, and was a member of Taylor Baptist Church. He was retired after 40 years with Woodard and Walker Lumber Co., and several years at Willamette Industries. After retirement, gardening was his favorite past time. Sharing with his friends and family, passing on canned goods he made himself until his stroke in January.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 70 years, Mary Lee Brewer Miles; a very special little angel, grandson Johnathan Kevin Blank; three brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by a daughter, Margaret Lee Miles Blank; two grandchildren, Christopher and Celeste Blank; one little dog, Danny; and a few chickens; very special friends, William Still, Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Lamkin, Bo and Sue Scott; and many friends and family.
Pallbearers were William Still, Skipper Lefeaux, Claud Walker, Chad Still, Brian Still and David Ogwyn.

C.C. Cozby
Funeral services for Mr. C.C. “Buster” Cozby, 77, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church in Ivan with the Rev. O.P. Bazer officiating. Burial will follow at Emma Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church after 4 p.m. today, March 8.
Mr. Cozby, a native of Golddonna and a resident of Ivan for 45 years, Passed away Sunday, March 7, in Springhill. He was a retired iron worker and a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Cozby; son, Ronnie Cozby; two daughters, Tina and Janie; grandson, Gary Billups; and granddaughter, Heather White .
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Cozby of Ivan; two children, Frances Billups of Ivan, Jerald Cozby of Dayton, Texas ; sister, Anita Lee of Livingston, Texas ; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
