Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Ann Hassell, 33, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2004, at First United Pentecostal Church in Minden with the Rev. Jeff Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at Minden Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 p.m. today, June 24, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hassell, a native of Shreveport and a resident of Lonoke, Ark., Passed away Monday, June 21. She graduated from Minden High School and North Louisiana Vocational-Technical School in Minden. She was employed as a document research analyst for Central Registry in Little Rock, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her father, Terry Larkin; brother, Vincent Larkin and grandmother, Louise Morgan.
She is survived by her parents, Tommy and Louise Russell of Minden; mother, Arwilda Larkin of Gulfport, Miss.; daughter, Madison Larkin of Minden; two brothers, Brandon McEachern of Heflin, and Timothy Larkin of Dixie Inn; two sisters, Suzanne Shockley of Dixie Inn and Cindy Shelton of Lexington, Ky.
Pallbearers will be Casey Callender, Chad Callender, Justin Callender, Chuckie Rickman, Keith Rickman and Corey Plunkett.

Jessie Bradley
Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Ray Harris Bradley "Mamu," 73, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, June 24, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bradley Passed away Tuesday, June 22, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving mother and wife who did more for others than for herself.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Bradley; parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Harris; and her brother, J.C. Harris.
She is survived by her sons, David Bradley and wife Jana, Robert Bradley and wife Donna, John Bradley and wife Judy, all of Minden; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Terry Cox, Brian Bradley, John Lewis Bradley, Carey Salter, Jon Kirkham, Chris Curry, Buddy Skaggs and Bobby Reno.

Helga Lumley
Memorial services for Mrs. Helga Lumley will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2004, at St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Mrs Lumley Passed away on June 15. Her memory will always be in the hearts of her loved ones.
She is survived by her special friends, Racheal Beard, Catherine Miller, Natalie Frost, Richard Beard, Kyle Lacy, Martina Henson and Marco Henson, Her daughter, Patricia Ramsey, her grandchildren and 11 brothers and sisters.

Henry Lockhart
Funeral services for Mr. Henry Lockhart were to be held today at noon at Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church in Minden. Burial will follow at Sheppard Street Cemetery under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home.
Mr. Lockhart was born to the late William Amos and Clara Rice Lockhart on Feb. 17, 1938. He became a Christian at a very early age and joined Mt. Comfort Baptist church in Minden. Later he united with Jesus Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board.
He married Freddie Frazier. To this union, one child was born, Debra Lockhart Mims.
On April 27, 1979, he married Alma Faye Nolen.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two sisters, Mednesia Dukes and Geneva Nelson and two brothers, Cargie Lockhart and Major Lockhart.
On Tuesday, June 15, Mr. Lockhart departed this life to join his Savior, leaving to cherish his memory; wife, Alma Fay Lockhart, a daughter, Debra Lockhart Mims, two sons, Tery Lockhart and Michael Lockhart, four grandchildren; Anwand Lockhart, Damion Mims, James Mims and Hala Mims, six sisters, Mandy Washington (Pat Lyn) of Dallas, Clara Odom, Arstella Jiles, Gloria Green, Christola Walton and Vernell O’Neal (John), two aunts, Vera Williams and Vester Thornton and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Helga Lumley
Funeral services will be held Thursday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church for Mrs Helga Lumley.
She is survived by her special friends, Racheal Beard, Catherine Miller, Natalie Frost, Richard Beard, Kyle Lacy, Martina Henson and Marco Henson, her daughter, Patricia Ramsey, her grandchildren and 11 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Lumley Passed away on June 15. Her memory will always be in the hearts of her loved ones.

Juanita Sullivan
A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Juanita C. Sullivan on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Cullen. Funeral services will follow at the Garden of Memory Cemetery.
Family hour will be held at 2 p.m. at the church.
Mrs Sullivan was born on Jan. 10, 1921 to Mr. and Mrs Peter Cole.
She is preceded in death by her husband Adell Sullivan.
She is survived by one son, Keith M. Sullivan and his wife Diane Sullivan both from Berea, Ohio, grandchildren, Kala Sullivan, Willoughby Hills Ohio, Kimberly Kelly, Atlanta, Ga., Patrice Kelly, Tallulah, Oh. one brother Perry Cole of Kinder, sisters in law Lucy Sullivan, Minden and Odell Sullivan, Jonesboro and a host of other relatives.

Timothy Clark
Funeral services for Mr. Timothy A. Clark, 51, will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home in Northport, Ala., with Father Holloway of St. Frances Catholic Church officiating. Services will be with full military rites. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Phenix City, Ala.
Mr. Clark, a resident of Northport, Passed away Friday, June 18, at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Cherie F. Clark; grandparents, Andrew and Ada Fincher; and J.D. and Sarah Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Clark of Monroe; daughter, Jennifer Clark of Northport; son, Matthew Clark of Northport; sisters, Andrea Brown of Tierra Verde, Fla., Margaret Burke of Augusta, Maine; brother, John Clark of Mandeville; nine nieces and 12 nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Veterans Memorial Association, P.O. Box 62, Dixon, Ky. 42409

James Giddens
Funeral services for Mr. James Leon "Gid" Giddens, 94, will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 21, 2004, at Springhill Baptist Church near Ringgold with the Rev. Max Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Ringgold under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mr. Giddens, a native of Bienville Parish and a resident of Ringgold for the past five years, Passed away Friday, June 18, in Ringgold following a lengthy illness. He was a retired janitor for Chico School District of California and a member of Springhill Baptist Church. Although Mr. Giddens never had any children of his own, he cared for many children and foster children.
He was preceded in death by his wife Berneice Giddens; brother, Robbie Giddens and two sisters, Genevieve McCarley and Mattie Lee Lee.
He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Giddens of Ringgold, and Alene Pierce of Bartlesville, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Susan Gloer
Graveside services for Mrs. Susan Louise Gloer, 92, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004, at Holly Springs Baptist Church between Homer and Minden with the Rev. Ronnie Osborne officiating. Services were under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer.
Mrs. Gloer, a resident of Homer, Passed away Saturday, June 19, in Homer. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Homer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Gloer; and son, Charles Gloer.
She is survived by two nieces, Charlene Osborne and husband Vernon of Minden, Jo Ann Hutton and husband Lester of Haughton; two great-nephews, Ronnie Osborne and wife Tabitha and Michael Osborne and wife Heather; three great-great-nieces, Olivia Osborne, Megan Osborne and Anna Grace Osborne.

Henry Van Johnson
Funeral services for Mr. Henry Van Johnson , 69, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Elizabeth Full Gospel Baptist Church in Coushatta with the Rev. Richard Logan officiating. Burial will follow at Old St. Mary Cemetery in Red River Parish under the direction of Miller-Pioneer Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held today, June 18, at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson , a resident of Coushatta, Passed away Saturday, June 12, at Life Care Hospital.
He is survived by his mother, Annie Johnson ; sons, Melvin Johnson , Kevin Johnson , Don Johnson , and Keith Johnson , all of Houston, Texas ; daughters, Carolyn Johnson and Renae Johnson , both of Houston; brothers, Earskine Johnson of Houston, Walter Johnson , Willie Johnson and Billy Johnson , all of California; sisters, Gloria Speed and Lula Evans, both of Coushatta, Norma Ashley of California and Mary McDonald of Kansas City, Mo.

Glenda Weaver
Visitation for Mrs. Glenda Nix Weaver will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today, June 18, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Shreveport.
She was born Dec. 20, 1944, in Ringgold, and Passed away Wednesday, June 16, in Shreveport. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and was a longtime resident of Minden and Springhill, and had lived in Shreveport for the past 15 years. She was a Baptist.
A graduate of Minden High School, she received her degree as an LPN and RN. She worked at LSU Medical Center as a registered nurse. "Gen," as she was known to her family, extended family and many friends, lived a passionate and zestful life. A very generous, kind and giving person, she valued her many relationships. She enjoyed fishing, card games, cooking and music, especially Willie Nelson and Elvis Presley.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jennifer; and her parents, J.T. and Louise Nix.
She is survived by her son, James Weaver and wife Constance; grandson, Wiley James Berry Weaver; twin sister, Linda Nix Busbey and husband Bill; niece, Missy Keppler and husband Tom; nephew, Dan and his sons, Owen and Ethan; brother, Charles Kenneth Nix and wife Susan; and nephews, Stephen, Mat and Jack.
In lieu of flowers, Glenda's family would appreciate her being honored by memorials to a charitable organization of the donor's choice.

Aiden Paranuk
A Memorial service for Aiden Alexander Boyd Paranuk will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Jones Funeral Home in Crossett, Ark.
He was born in Crossett, on Feb. 23, 2004, and passed into the presence of God on June 7.
He is mourned by his parents Sasha and Lonnie Paranuk and his grandparents, John Paranuk Jr. and Joann Paranuk of Crossett and Jane Boyd of Alaska.
He is survived by aunts Spc. Karima Mares, stationed in Kuwait, Jessica Harris of Alaska and Lisa Overton and husband John of Keysville, Ga., and his uncles John Paranuk III and wife Kay Paranuk, Leon Paranuk, James Martin of Louisiana and Kyle Harris of Alaska.
The prayers of his many relatives and friends go with him to heaven.

Irene Mills
Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Webster Mills, 81, will be held at noon Saturday, June 19, 2004, in Wichita, Kan.
Mrs. Mills Passed away Thursday in Gladstone, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Givens Webster; husband, Robert Mills; two sisters; one brother and six sons.
She is survived by four daughters, Bobbie M. Clark of Minden, Vada U. Brown of Haynesville, Sara Keeler and husband Mike of Gladstone, and Gloria Mills of Norfolk, Va.; four sons, Johnny Mills of Minneapolis, Minn., Calvin Mills, Stan Patrick and Eddie Joe Mills and wife Flo of Wichita; 32 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

James R. Canterbury
Funeral services for Mr. James R. Canterbury, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Bailey Mortuary in Springhill with Dr. Burton Blair officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, June 16, 2004, at the funeral home.
Mr. Canterbury, a resident of Springhill for 56 years, Passed away Monday, June 14, following a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 19, 1923. He was an elder of Springhill Presbyterian Church and was attending Springhill United Methodist Church. He retired from Springhill Motor Company after 40 years of service as an accountant. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp. World War II veteran.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Canterbury; father, James L. Canterbury; and sisters, Lucille Wilks and Gladys Cox.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bobbie Galbraith Canterbury; nieces, Lynda Matthews and husband Carl; Patty Fuller and husband Don; Jan McDonald and husband Roger; Nellie Moreland and husband Joe; nephews, Larry Parker and wife Suzanne; John Cox and wife Tracey; 11 great-nieces and nephews and special friends, James and Jean Avera.
Pallbearers will be James Colvin, Bob Colvin, Carl Matthews, Don Fuller, Roger McDonald, Bob Matthews, Chris Matthews and Ryan Nunley.

Esther "Pat" Ellis Bailey
Funeral services for Mrs. Esther "Pat" Ellis Bailey, 91, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at Central Baptist Church in Springhill, with Dr. Ron Harvey and the Rev. Kenneth R. Everett officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Inc., in Springhill.
Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, June 15, and the family will begin receiving friends at 4 p.m.
Mrs. Bailey was born Feb. 14, 1913, in Princeton, North Carolina to Frank and Nora Lillian Johnson Ellis and Passed away Sunday, June 13, at her home in Springhill following a short illness. Bob and Pat Bailey founded Bailey Funeral Home in 1956. After the death of Mr. Bailey in 1968, Mrs. Bailey continued to carry forth the legacy of Bailey Mortuary. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Rotary Club, LA. Funeral Directors Association and Springhill Chamber of Commerce. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Springhill Chamber of Commerce for her continued dedication and service to the community. She was always active in various civic and social activities. Some of her favorite hobbies were playing Bridge; Spades; fishing; oil and china painting. Her dedication to families over the last 48 years was her gift from God.
Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 36 years, R.A. "Bob" Bailey and three sons-in-law, Howard W. "Howdy" Grant, Daniel Dayton and Kirk Roberson.
She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Neel and husband, Leon of Coldsprings, Texas , Eloise Grant of Magnolia, Ark., Wanda Kay Farrington and husband, Aubrey of Benton; seven grandchildren, Joy Austin and husband, David, Danna Stokes and husband, Don, Candy Sigust and husband, Lee, Steve Grant and wife, Amanda, Lydia Smith and husband, Connie, Russ Farrington and wife, Lucinda, Jennifer Berry and husband, Paul; 15 great grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, four sisters, Geneva Ellis of North Carolina, Edna Moore of Florida, Marguerite Miller of Iowa, Ann Hall of Washington , D.C., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Ed Grant, Heath Grant, Cody Grant, Brice Stokes, Joseph Austin, Chris Golden, Tate Smith, Dayton Stokes, Danny Austin and Zachary Grant.
