Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Jones will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at New Home Baptist Church in Ada Taylor . Services are under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Family hour will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home.

Gilliam Mims
Funeral services for Mr. Gilliam Mims will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Mt. Comfort Baptist Church in Minden. Burial will follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Family hour will be held from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 18, 1915 to the late Gilliam Mims Sr. and Mary Mims. He joined Mt. Comfort Baptist Church at an early age, where he served faithfully. He married Beatrice Mims and they had one son.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alberta Mims and Glover Mims; three sisters, Ida Eason, Mary Ellen Mims and Louise Greer; and one son, Eddie James Mims.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice of Minden; one brother, Willie Mims and wife Ellen Wee of Minden; two sisters, Kathelean Jackson of Minden, and Lucille Jones of Pine Bluff, Ark.; one grandson, Eddie James Mims Jr. and wife Rosie Mae of De Soto, Texas ; one granddaughter, Carolyn Cosby and husband Buck of Minden; one great-granddaughter, Keonte Mims; one great-grandson, Eddie James Mims III and wife Toya; an adopted son, Gilliam Morris; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Linda Moore
Funeral services for Ms. Linda Faye Moore will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Northwest 14th District Building in Minden. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery in Minden under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home.
Family hour will be held from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home.

Eva Nell Phillips
Graveside services for Mrs. Eva Nell Phillips, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden. Services will be under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Phillips Passed away this morning, Feb. 9, in Minden, after a brief illness.

David Thornton Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. David G. Thornton Jr. will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at New Light Baptist Church in Minden. Burial will follow at Old Athens Cemetery in Minden under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home.
Family hour will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home.

Robert James
Funeral services for Mr. Robert "Bobby" Keith James, 65, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Brian Danese of Minden Seventh-day Adventist Church, and the Rev. Morris Robe of Baptist Tabernacle in Sibley officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today, Feb. 8, at the funeral home.
Mr. James Passed away Monday, Feb. 7, in Sibley after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Canualou, Mo., on Feb. 14, 1938. He was a U.S. veteran in the Air Force at Barksdale Air Force Base. He retired from Riely Beaird and was owner and operator of Commercial Pest Control for the past 20 years. He enjoyed working with children at Minden Seventh-day Adventist School and hunting with Wesley and traveling with his wife. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #2239.
He was preceded in death by two infant daughters; parents, Nelson and Lucille James; brother, Jimmy Dale James; and lifetime friends, Clyde Chreene, Dale and Jill Hodges and Joe Goodwin.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maude James; sons, Thomas N. James of Pensacola, Fla., and L. Keith James and wife Tina of Pace, Fla., Wesley James of Sibley; daughters, Cheryl James and spouse Nacho Banales of Winston, N.M., Kari LaFeat of Houston, Texas ; grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon James, Brian M. James, Krystin LaFeat and Chris Barnes and wife Deanna; brothers, Gary N. James and friend Debbie of Sibley, Terry James and wife Nita of Bossier City; sisters, Pat Benton and friend Steve of Bossier City, Sandra Wells and husband Buddy of Brownwood, Texas , and Donna Edwards and husband Bill of Rolls, Mo.; and he had many beloved extended family and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Drs. Carlos and Kathy Irizarry, Evelyn Young, the nursing staff at Northwest Regional Hospice and especially Joann DeLoach and Pam Grice.
Pallbearers will be Thomas James, Keith James, Wesley James, Terry James, Gary James and Chris Barnes. The honorary pallbearer will be Henry Arant.

John Cupples
A memorial service for Mr. John Henry Cupples, 74, were held Friday, Feb. 4, in Kawhnawake, Quebec in Canada.
He Passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, in Kawhnawake. He was born April 6, 1930 in Winnsboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Minnie Cupples; sister, Evonne Fiering; and his brother, Robert Cupples.
He is survived by his sister, Irene Albritton; brothers, Doug Cupples and Ed Cupples, all of Minden; wife, Edith; sons, Darroll, Keith and Wayne; and a daughter, Gloria, all of Canada.

Daniel Graham Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Daniel C. Graham Jr., 25, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Antioch Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas , under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home in Dallas. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, at Sheppard Street Cemetery under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held Sunday at the funeral home until time of services.
Mr. Graham was born July 30, 1979 to Daniel C. Graham Sr. of Dallas, and Cynthia Wyrick of Chicago, Ill.
He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Rosie Brantley and R.B. Brantley, uncle, who is the twin brother of Graham's father, Daniel Sr., Donald Graham; aunts, cousins, and a host of friends.

Linda Lofton
Funeral services for Ms. Linda Lofton will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Miller-Pioneer Funeral Home with Minister Hay officiating. Burial will follow at Sheppard Street Cemetery in Minden.
Ms. Lofton Passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, at Minden Medical Center.
She is survived by one sister, Amita Jones; one daughter, Tina Lofton; two granddaughters, Brittany Lofton and Sierra Lofton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Daniel Graham Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Daniel C. Graham Jr., 25, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Antioch Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas , under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home in Dallas. Aldon Shirey
Funeral services for Mr. Aldon W. Shirey, 78, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Johnny Pistole officiating and the Rev. Charles Hamilton. Burial will follow at Summerfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. today, Feb. 2, at the funeral home.
Mr. Shirey, a resident of Summerfield, Passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, in Summerfield. He worked for Ludlow Company. He was born Jan. 23, 1926.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mamie Shirey; and his son, Ricky Shirey.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Ruth Shirey of Summerfield; son, Gary Shirey of Summerfield; and two daughters, Pamela Ann Scriber and husband Larry of Lisbon, Paula Jan Farley and husband Donald R. of Summerfield; nine grandchildren, Melissa, Jason, Allen, Leeann, Jessie, Erik, Dawn, Shane and Alex; and three great-grandchildren, Haley, Camryn and Zachary.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Iree Rowe
Funeral services for Mrs. Iree Ellen Rowe will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Evening Star CME Church in Cullen. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Cullen under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Family hour will be held from 6 until 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 4, at the funeral home.

Grady Lee McFarland
Graveside services for Mr. Grady Lee McFarland, 93, were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Earhart officiating. Services were under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mr. McFarland, a native of Kemper County, Miss., and a resident of Minden, Passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, in Minden. He was a retired painter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice McFarland.
He is survived by his two sons, Harvey McFarland and wife Louise of Sibley, Alfred McFarland and wife Elaine of Minden; two daughters, Dorothy McFarland of Minden, and Kalon Davis of Mexico; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Doris Cunningham
Funeral services in memory of Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Merchant Cunningham, 97, were to be held at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 31, 2005, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Cunningham, a native of Ballston Spa, N.Y., Passed away Friday, Jan. 28. She was born Aug. 16, 1907. She grew up in upstate New York, where she graduated from high school and business college. After marrying her husband, George, they lived in northern Minnesota and Jackson , Miss., before moving to Minden in 1949. She was a resident of Live Oak Retirement Community in Shreveport at the time of her passing.
She was a member of Minden Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Woman's Department Club, and the Minden Garden Club. Mrs. Cunningham also enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and volunteering in the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Cunningham; three sisters; two brothers; a son-in-law, Ray Davis; and a granddaughter.
She is survived by her children, Dean Cunningham and wife Barbara of Edmond, Okla., Kay Davis of Shreveport, Bette Lou McClure and husband Dennis of Kingwood, Texas ; and her loving family includes, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Minden Presbyterian Church or to Live Oak Retirement Community.

Mary Semple
Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Harper Semple, 79, were to be held at 11 a.m. today, Jan. 31, 2005, at Weaver Cemetery near Campti.
Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mrs. Semple, a native of Chestnut and a resident of Shreveport, Passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, in Minden.
She was a retired school teacher. She taught 40 years in Louisiana public schools and the last 12 years at J.S. Clark in Shreveport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, B.G. and Kate Harper; and her husband, Thomas O. Semple.
Memorials may be made to any charity of the donor's choice.

Jesse DeLoach
Funeral services for Jesse DeLoach will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Charles Pate officiating.
Burial will follow at Minden Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 p.m. at today, Jan. 27, at the funeral home.
Mr. DeLoach, a lifelong resident of Minden, Passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, in Shreveport following a lengthy illness. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Gifford Hill, and was a member of Minden Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chris DeLoach
He is survived by his wife, Carrie P. DeLoach of Minden; two daughters, Cathy Jernigan and Gwen DeLoach, both of Minden; eight sisters; one brother; grandchildren, Nicole Jones, Tony Hayes, Greg DeLoach, Blaine Pittman III, Nancy Maxwell and Marcia Maxwell, all of Minden; and one great-grandchild.

Mary Ellen Fountain
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Fountain, 88, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bradley, Ark.
Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Bradley under the direction of Miller-Pioneer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fountain was a resident of Plain Dealing.
