Graveside services for Mr. Bobby Joe Ward Sr., 46, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Point Chapel Cemetery in Doyline with the Rev. Lee Nunley officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mr. Ward, a native of El Paso, Texas , and a resident of Doyline, Passed away Monday, June 6, in Doyline. He was a maintenance worker in the food industry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett W. Ward.
He is survived by his son, Bobby Ward Jr. of Doyline; daughter, Ginger Sue Ward of North Carolina; mother, Elvira Ward of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Helen Cove of Shreveport; and brothers, William W. Ward of Haughton, and Johnny A. Ward of Doyline.

Evie Conly
Funeral services for Mrs. Evie Mae Flora Conly, 89, will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 6, 2005, at Bailey Mortuary with the Rev. Ronald Morgan officiating and the Rev. Joe Warden assisting. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ringgold.
Mrs. Conly was born Feb. 10, 1916, in Grand Saline, Texas , to George Washington and Lona Morse Flora, and Passed away Friday, June 3, in Shreveport. She was a resident of Springhill, a member of First Baptist Church and retired from International Paper Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Wilson Conly; her parents; two sisters; and six brothers.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Conly and wife Barbara of Atlanta, Texas ; two daughters, Mavis Smith and husband Ray of Springhill, Janie Sandidge and husband C.D., of Minden; five grandchildren, Steve and wife Genyne, Freda and husband C.L., Scott and wife Geniece, Mike and wife Carol, Shawn and wife Kim; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five great-great-step-grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Daniels of Springhill; and one sister-in-law, Jean Flora of Cullen.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Doris Taylor
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Taylor , 88, were to be held at 10 a.m. today, June 6, 2005, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Crain officiating and the Rev. Don McCormick assisting. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today, at Union Cemetery in Rye, Ark., under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mrs. Taylor , a resident of Minden, Passed away Friday, June 3, in Shreveport. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin F. Taylor ; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Reap; son, Gaylon Taylor ; great-granddaughter, Sommer Taylor ; and son-in-law, the Rev. Wayne Watson.
She is survived by her son, Rayburn and wife Eloise Taylor of Warren, Ark.; daughters, Patsy and Tommy McDaniel, Debbie and John Waters, all of Minden; grandchildren, Bruce Taylor , Stacey Ferguson, Mark Taylor , Mike Taylor , Marie Robinson, Toni Ingle, Tina McCormick, Amber Mosely and Alanna Waters; great-grandchildren, Blake Taylor , Rusty Ferguson, Taylor Ferguson, Tamara Taylor , Lee Taylor , Kristen Taylor , Haley Taylor , Chance Robinson, Blake Ingle, Brooke Ingle, Jacob McCormick, Joshua McCormick and Macey Mosely; great-great-grandchildren, Brady Taylor and Peyton Ingle.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Alan Borne and the staff at Schumpert Hospital, the Staff at ICU and The Grace Home.

Donna Crumpler Beshea
Funeral services for Donna Crumpler Beshea, 42, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005, at the Bailey Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Charles Woolley officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today, July 29, at Bailey Mortuary.
Donna, a native and lifelong resident of this area, Passed away Wednesday, July 27, near Arcadia, following an automobile accident. She was a member of the Baptist church and was employed as an LPN with Arcadia Health Care.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Beshea, on April 29, 2004, and by her father, James Crumpler, on Feb. 25, 2001.
She is survived by her sons, Jeremy Crumpler, of Bossier City, Jason Beshea and his fiancé, Penny Ratliff, of Sarepta; a step-son, Jeffrey Beshea, of Sarepta; mother, Rita Russell Crumpler of Cotton Valley; sisters, Carolyn Moss and husband, Tim, of Cotton Valley; Johnnie Sims and husband, Larry, of Sarepta; nieces and nephew, Jamie Crumpler, Gina Sims, Dillon Sims and Brandi Sims; her maternal grandmother, Margie McDonald; paternal grandfather, Joe Crumpler, both of Sarepta, and a number of other relatives and friends.
Donna was loved and will be missed by the residents and staff of the Arcadia Health Care where she had been employed for the last 10 years.
Pallbearers will be Tim Moss, Larry Sims, J.W. Shows, Gary Ratliff, Dustin Howell, and Lenn Simmons.

Clifford Green
Funeral services for Mr. Clifford “Toot” Green will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Bright Star Baptist Church in Minden. Burial will follow at Bright Star Cemetery in Minden under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Family hour will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. today, July 29, at the funeral home.
Mr. Green Passed away Wednesday, July 20. He was born July 4, 1937, in Webster Parish to the late Emmett Green and Edith Jenkins Green.
He joined New Home Baptist Church in Gibsland at an early age, and often visited Bright Star Baptist Church. He received his education in the Webster Parish School System, and was a hard worker. He retired after 40 years of services at the Willamette Industries in Gibsland.
He had a very loving heart and a special love for people. He cherished all of his relatives and loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Lula Hicks of Princeton; his mother, whom he compassionately called “Edie,” of Minden; five sisters, Madgeline Mims of Minden, Laura Faye Hardy and Mauricesteen Stubblefield and husband Alvin of Houston, Texas , Gradie Wheeler of Shreveport, Catherine Crosby of Manhattan, N.Y.; one son, David of Los Angeles, Calif.; six step-children; three young men and three young ladies; 12 grandchildren; one aunt, Beatrice Johnson of Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Johnson of Princeton, Viva Pickens of Shreveport; two brothers-in-law, Delonza Hicks of Denver, Colo., Charles Hicks Jr. of Princeton; and many special cousins, friends and loved ones.
“Toot” and the loving spirit that he always possessed wherever he went will be missed.

Mirrie O. Mingo
Funeral services for Ms. Mirrie O. Mingo, 86, will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 31, 2005, at Israelite Baptist Church in Ringgold. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery in Homer under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Ringgold.
Ms. Mingo Passed away Monday, July 25.

Kattie Oliver
Funeral services for Mrs. Kattie Oliver, 93, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Plain Dealing with the Rev. Kenneth Leonard officiating. Burial will follow at Caldwell Cemetery in Plain Dealing under the direction of Miller-Pioneer Funeral Home in Minden.

Iona Richardson
Funeral services for Mrs. Iona Mae Thomas Richardson will be held at noon Friday, July 29, 2005, at Mt. Calm Baptist Church in Minden. Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery in Gibsland under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Mrs. Richardson Passed away Friday, July 22. She was born to the late M.J. Thomas and Ollie Williams-Diggins on March 4, 1939.
She is survived by her husband Willie G. Richardson; her mother, Ollie Diggins; one brother, John A. Diggins Jr. and wife Sandra of Hephzibah, Ga.; two daughters, Frenzella E. Richardson-Boakai and husband Eric of Pittsburgh, Pa., Dierdre D. Richardson; two sons, Shannon U. Richardson and wife Teresa of Philadelphia, Pa., Clifton N. Richardson of Minden; a special uncle, Leroy Williams and wife Beatrice of Minden; seven grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Thomas Lynn Cummins
A private family service for Mr. Thomas Lynn Cummins, 53, of Shreveport, will be held, and per his wishes, he will be cremated.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, July 28, 2005, at Osborn Funeral Home in Shreveport, from 4 until 7 p.m.
Mr. Cummins Passed away Sunday, July 24, 2005. Thomas was born March 30, 1952 in Minden, to Leland Haygood and Aubrey Taunton Cummins. He was a graduate of Northwestern State University and was a financial service advisor with AIG Valic. He previously had been with Morgan Stanley, and as a district manager with Arkla Gas/ Noram for 22 years.
Before moving back to Shreveport in 1990, Thomas was very involved in activities in New Boston, Texas , including the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Zoning and Planning Commission, Little League Baseball and the Military Affairs Committee.
His parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carol; sons, Leland K. Cummins and Ashley Mercer, Lt. Matthew H. Cummins (USAF) and wife, Amy; granddaughter, Madelyn Michelle Cummins, who Tom loved dearly; brother, Richard L. Cummins of Bentonville, Ark.; and a host of other family and friends.
Thomas enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, playing golf with his sons, going flying, and treasured his time with his granddaughter.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the caregivers at Christus Schumpert-Highland Hospital and Peggy Cheney for the loving and compassionate care Thomas received.
Tom gave the gift of life through organ donation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency, 3501 North Causeway Blvd., Suite 940, Metairie, Louisiana 70002.

Estelle Heflin
Funeral services for Mrs. Estelle “Puddle” O’Rear Heflin, 95, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005, at North Acres Baptist Church in Minden with the Rev. Roy Strother officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, July 27, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Heflin, of Minden, Passed away Tuesday, July 26, at Christus-Schumpert Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 2, 1910, in Center, Texas . She was a lifelong resident of Minden, and was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was a charter member of North Acres Baptist Church, formerly Southside Baptist Church, and a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Heflin Sr.; parents, Lee and Iva O’Rear; seven brothers, Ellis O’Rear, J.B. O’Rear, John O’Rear, Robert L. O’Rear, James L. O’Rear, W.L. O’Rear and Ernest O’Rear; and two sisters, Opal Streety and Lucille Leon.
She is survived by her son, James A. Heflin Jr. and wife Agnes of Dubberly; two granddaughters, Lisa Mouser and husband Kenneth of Shreveport, and Lana Worley and husband Loren of Houston, Texas ; three great-grandchildren, Sydney Mouser, Logan Worley and Landry Worley; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Heflin and Anita O’Rear; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Logan Worley, Kenneth Mouser, John McCann, Bud Sandidge, Shelby Edwards and William McCann. Honorary pallbearers will be David Monk, Claude Reeves, Sonny O’Rear, Alex Kirk and Tom Kirk.
Estelle was dearly loved by her family and friends. She was a fine Christian lady and loved her Lord. Her faith was never-ending. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
Memorials may be made to North Acres Baptist Church building fund.

Bessie F. Fizer
Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie F. Fizer will be held at noon Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at Valley Springs Baptist Church in Minden. Burial will follow at Israelite Cemetery in Ringgold under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Mrs. Fizer Passed away Friday, July 22. She was born June 18, 1925, to the late Robert and Eulalia Fritz of Ringgold. She joined Israelite Baptist Church in Ringgold at an early age. On Aug. 19, 1942, she married John L. Fizer, and later moved to Minden. She joined Valley Springs Baptist Church, where she became an active member serving as president of the deaconess’ and a member of the choir. She enjoyed attending special church activities at other community churches as well.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, a brother, son and a granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley F. Walker and Gloria J. Fizer of Minden; sons, Lenzon Fizer and wife Kyon of Houston, Texas , Ronnie R. Fizer and wife Linda of Shreveport; sisters, Willie Walker and Lesile Morrison of Ringgold; Marcile Hines of Oakland, Calif., and Betty Ashley of Toledo, Ohio; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Judy Ann Paul
Funeral services for Miss Judy Ann Paul, 46, were to be held at 10 a.m. today, July 25, 2005, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. J. Roddy Taylor officiating and the Rev. Bill Ichter assisting. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Miss Paul, a lifelong resident of Minden, Passed away Saturday, July 23, in Minden. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Minden.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Mary Jo and Derald Kirkland of Minden; father and step-mother, Jerry Wayne and Betty Paul of Heflin; sisters, Patricia Lynn Ackerman of Covington, Jo Ellen Paul of Bossier City, and Jena Paul of Bossier City; step-sister, Renee Larroux of Baton Rouge; brothers, Lemuel Grigsby III of Heflin, and Steven Paul of Minden; step-brother, Derald Kirkland Jr. of Baton Rouge; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Patricia Daniel Hicks
Patricia Daniel Hicks Passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Livingston on July 5, 2005, after an extended illness.
Ms. Hicks was born Nov. 12, 1941, in Alexandria. Her family moved to Minden in 1945 where she spent her entire childhood, graduating from Minden High School in May 1959.
She is preceded in death by her father, A.J. Daniel.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Lee Daniel; brothers, J.D. Daniel and Ranny S. Daniel, both of Minden; sister, Barbara Chandler of Haughton; two sons; two daughters; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Valley Methodist Church, c/o the Rev. Joe Hunter, 1202 Drake Drive, Minden, LA, 71055.

Carlton Wayne Merritt
Graveside services for Carlton Wayne Merritt, 59, were to be held at 11 a.m. today, Friday, July 22, 2005, at Gardens of Memory cemetery in Minden under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Mr. Merritt, a native of Springhill, a lifelong resident of Minden and resident of Town and Country Nursing Home, Passed away July 21 in Minden. He was a truck driver.
He is survived by his parents, Paul and Myrtle Casselman of Minden; sister Tonia Casselman Wells of Ohio; and brother, Mark Casselman, also of Ohio.

Vera “Toat” Young Morrison
Funeral services for Vera “Toat” Young Morrison, 88, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2005, at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church in Ivan with Dr. O.P. Bazer officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Mount Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary of Cotton Valley.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Bailey Mortuary in Cotton Valley.
Mrs. Morrison was born April 8, 1917 and Passed away July 20, 2005 in Springhill. She was a lifelong resident of Ivan, member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, David M. Morrison.
She is survived by daughters, Ruby Edmiston of Ivan, Emilie Hill and husband Ed of Las Vegas, Ludie Baker and husband Phil of Sarepta; sister, Lois Johnston and husband Dalton of Ivan; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be deacons of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church.
