Funeral services for Mrs. Tishey Hampton Nicholson will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Heflin.

Margaret Nielsen
Funeral services for Ms. Margaret Pitman Nielsen, 86, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Bethel Baptist Church in Midlothian, Va.
Services were under the direction of Woody Funeral Home in Midlothian.
Ms. Nielsen, of Powhatan, Va., Passed away Monday, August 8.
She was an assistant chief nurse at McGuire Hospital, a registered nurse serving in World War II in the Army Nurse Corps, and chief of nursing service at Veterans Hospital in Huntington, W. Va.
She was a Powhatan representative to the Capital Area Agency for the Aging, volunteer medical missionary to Tanzania, East Africa, and a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Clara Mae Pitman.
She is survived by her son, James Claton Nielsen Sr. and wife Christie Lee Nielsen; brother, R.J. Pitman and wife Earlene of Louisiana ; sisters, Bettye Lowe of Louisiana and Ida Mae Yarbrough and husband Ralph of Texas ; grandchildren, James Claton Nielsen Jr., April Lee McWilliams, Abigail Nielsen and Josephen Neilsen, all of Richmond, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Alex Michael Nielsen and Micah Andrew Nielsen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WMU of Bethel Baptist Church.

Aiyanna Owens
Funeral services for infant Aiyanna Sheria Owens will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at Jenkins Community Cemetery in Doyline.
Services are under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.

Thomas Rambo
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Rambo will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at Carter Memorial Baptist Church in Heflin.
Burial will follow at Theus Cemetery in Ringgold under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.

Elizabeth Richardson
Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Wilfred Merritt Richardson will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today, Aug. 18, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Richardson Passed away Tuesday, August 16, in Minden.
She was born in Gibsland on Oct. 12, 1911.
She graduated high school in 1928 and attended Louisiana College, graduating in 1932.
She returned to north Louisiana to teach school in Gibsland and Arcadia, until her marriage in 1938 to Dr. Thomas Allen Richardson.
“Mrs. Rich,” as she was known by her friends, was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Minden for 67 years, where she taught Sunday school for 40 years and vacation Bible school for 27 years.
Her faith in the Lord is evident through her writings, her support of the church, missions and Christian education through Louisiana College.
She was a member of the Department Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a cub scout den mother.
She was creative in her hand-work and loved to make clothes for her children.
She gave her children every opportunity she could to enrich their lives and eventually the lives of others through education, music instruction, and the appreciation of art, literature, drama, dance and history – especially family history.
She was always well-dressed, and was the true example of a “lady.”
She enjoyed getting out every day with the help of her companions, Cynthia Roden and Faye Ferguson to eat at local restaurants, shop and go exploring with her brother, Frank.
She took joy in the beautiful colors of fabrics, plants, animals and even yellow cars.
She loved to watch things grow, even the daily visit of her flock of pigeons and squirrels at her house, where she delighted in watching them eat.
She loved tea parties in the afternoon, trips to the beauty shop, traveling, the sound of laughter and her independence.
She will be missed by special friends, Sandra Sparkman, Mary Francis Roberts, Sue Kettler, Dr. Randy Clemons, Marsha and Charlie Andrews and patrons of the Gibsland Grill.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, E.W. and Maggie Petty Merritt; her sisters, Ada Merritt and Marguerite Merritt and one brother, E.W. Merritt Jr.
She is survived by her beloved brother, Cyr Frank Petty Merritt of Gibsland; four children, Mary Elizabeth Richardson Bevill and husband Bob, their children, Becky and Robert Bevill and their seven grandchildren; son, Thomas Allen Richardson Jr. and his wife Linda, two sons, Thomas Allen Richardson and wife Jennifer, and Edward Bradley Richardson and wife Amber, and their three grandsons, one born on the day of Mrs. Richardson’s death; daughter, Sue Ann Richardson Kinsey and husband Gene; and daughter, Cindy Lou Richardson Madden and husband Jerry, and their children, Jennifer Ann Madden Benamati and husband Scott, and their five grandchildren; son, David C. Madden and fiance Megan Edwards, son Kevin D. Madden, and son, SPC Joshua B. Madden, United States Army, and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy Calhoun
Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Carol Calhoun, 69, were to be held at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 17, 2005, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Don McCormick and the Rev. Richard Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Minden Cemetery.
Mrs. Calhoun, a native of Shreveport and a lifelong resident of Minden, Passed away Monday, August 15, in Minden.
She was an insurance agent for First National Life Insurance Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Vera Mathews; her son, James B. Calhoun Jr.; brother, Gary Mathews; and her mother and father-in-law, Willie and Bessie Calhoun.
She is survived by her husband, James B. Calhoun of Minden; daughters, Monnie Heard and husband Tony of Doyline, Susan Baugh and husband Steve of Minden, and Kayla Gorham and husband Stephen of Minden; sister, Gayle Crowell and husband Bob of Mexia, Texas ; sisters-in-law, Ruby Mathews, Marcia Vedross and Artemis Busby and husband Percy; her grandchildren, Peyton Gorham and Paige Gorham; and step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Tamra and Justin Baugh, and Lindsey and Drew Heard.
Pallbearers will be Morris Busby, Robert Smart, Don Mathews, Kenneth Greer, Tom Shirey and Jamie Walker.

Roberta Bailey Mims
Funeral services for Mrs. Roberta Bailey Mims, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at Galilee Baptist Church with the Rev. James Smith officiating.
interment to follow at Moore Cemetery under the direction of Kennon’s Mortuary.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 19, in the chapel of Kennon’s Mortuary.
Roberta Coleman Bailey Mims was born April 24, 1920, to the late Sam Coleman and the late Delia Bryant Coleman in Webster Parish.
She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, August 10, at Minden Medical Center.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three grandchildren, Vondrick Jenkins of Los Angeles, Calif., Veronica Jenkins Nelson of Sibley, and Elviun Jenkins of Sibley; eight great-grandchildren, Breonica Green, Albert Taylor IV, and Aldravious Taylor , all of Sibley, Cori Linder, Kalia Jenkins, Kina Jenkins, Kamauri Jenkins, and Keria Jenkins, all of Los Angeles; godchildren, Dock Odom of Los Angeles, and Jayda Odom of Doyline; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Erica Neil
Funeral services for Ms. Erica Neil, 37, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, at Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church.
Ms. Neil Passed away Friday, August 12, at Baton General Hospital after a long battle with sickle cell anemia.
She was the daughter of the late Ivory Neil II and Bobbie Specks Neil.
She was the granddaughter of the late Willie and Bessie Specks.

Mary Ellen Andrews
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Andrews, 63, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at Union Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Alvin Shelton officiating. interment to follow at the St. Matthews Cemetery under the direction of Kennon’s Mortuary.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 19, in the chapel of Kennon’s Mortuary with family hour from 6 until 7 p.m.
Mary Ellen Jackson Andrews was born Sept. 16, 1944, to the late Webster Jackson and the late Rosa Law Jackson in Ansely.
She departed this earthly life on August 11, at Christus Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Matthew Andrews of Vero Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Versola Andrews of Kansas, Mo.; four sisters, Emma Lee Major of Sibley, Roxie Ann Jackson , of Minden, Lurlene Jackson of Sibley, and Thelma Jackson , of Houston, Texas ; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Nancy Calhoun
Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Carol Calhoun, 69, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Don McCormick and the Rev. Richard Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Minden Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, August 16, at the funeral home.

Kerlin Chatman
Funeral services for Mr. Kerlin Chatman, 78, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at Springhill CME Church with the Rev. Lonnie Sneed officiating.
Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Winnfield Funeral Home in Shreveport.
Visitation will be held at noon until time of services at the church.
Mr. Chatman was born to the late Allen Chatman Sr., and Pinkie Moore Chatman.
He Passed away Saturday, August 6, at his daughter’s home at 2:15 a.m.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ossie on Feb. 27, 2004; his parents; six brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Delores Chatman and Jennie Shine; one step-daughter, Dorothy Small; four sisters; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Charles Land
Funeral services for Mr. Charles “Bo” M. Land, 71, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 16, 2005, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Richard May officiating and the Rev. Ronnie Whitlock assisting. Burial will follow at Gilgal Cemetery in Minden.
Mr. Land, a native of Homer and a resident of Minden, Passed away Sunday, August 14, in Minden.
He was a maintenance supervisor for the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Land of Minden; three sons, W.T. “Bodie” Land of Haughton, C.M. “Skip” Land and wife Nadine of Aberdeen, N.C., Lenny Paul St. Germain and wife Nancy of Sibley; brother, Bobby Land of Reidheimer; grandchildren, Mark, Chris, Eric and Traeson Land, Jason and Michael St. Germain, Amber Lacoste, and Ryan and Clay Patterson; and his great-grandchildren, Colin and Brenden Patterson.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Clary, Joe Clary, Albert Green Jr., David Murphy, Eddie Cox and Ray Guy.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gilgal Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Mildred Hampton
Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Hampton will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Bienville.
Burial will follow at St. Duty Cemetery in Arcadia under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Family hour will be held from 7 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Audrey House
Funeral services for Mrs. Audrey Idale Johnson House, 82, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Crain officiating.
Burial will follow at Welcome Cemetery just north of Springhill.
Visitation will be held beginning at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 15, at the funeral home.
Mrs. House, a native of Big Creek, Ark., and a resident of Webster Parish for most of her life, Passed away Friday, August 12, at Minden Medical Center.
She was a housewife and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack House; her parents, Allen and Ruth Johnson ; brothers, Duffy and R.A. Johnson ; sisters, Ona Lee, Cleo Thompson, Nola Reeves and Opal Green; her grandsons, Chris House and Jimmy Sanders; and one great-grandson, Benjamin Sewell.
She is survived by her two daughters, Pat Peevy and husband Raymond of Minden, Donna Sewell and husband Eugene of Mansfield; two sons, James House and wife Kathryn of Stamps, Ark., Danny House and wife Judy of Springhill; four granddaughters; 10 grandsons; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Weemes, David Sewell, Dennis Sewell, Danny Sewell, Tony Wynne, Cody Weemes and Larry Weemes.
