Glenn Burnette Fleming (11-21-2006)
Funeral services for Glenn Burnett Fleming, 73, of Farmerville, and Ferndale, Wa., were held at 2 p.m., Fri., Nov. 17, 2006 at the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, with Rev. David Carter officiating.

Burial followed at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.V. (Virgil) Fleming, Sr., his brother C.V. Fleming, Jr., and sister, Dale Fields.

Mr. Fleming was born in Pampa, Texas ., on May 15, 1933, and died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital after a brief illness. He spent his early childhood in Bastrop, later moving to Monroe, and was a 1951 graduate of Ouachita Parish High School. He served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy. Glenn retired as an insurance agency owner in Blaine, Wa., as well as owner of an RV park on the Snake River in Ontario, Or. After retirement, Glenn returned to Lake D’Arbonne in Farmerville to continue his life long enjoyment of fishing.

He also enjoyed traveling the country in his motor home, although travel for Glenn wasn’t just a trip; it was an adventure.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Illene A. Fleming; three children, Denille Fleming of Puerto Penasco, Mexico, Deonne Remillard and husband, Dennis, of Monroe, and Jeff M. Fleming of Seattle, Wa.; sisters Sara L. Merkle of LaConner, Wa., Carolyn Holt and husband, Ron, of Farmerville; three grandchildren, Raleigh Rogers and husband, Rob, of Monroe, Soren Fleming of Puerto Pensaco, Mexico, and Shawnee Fleming of Seattle, Wa.; two great-grandchildren; and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Serving as pallbearers are Ron Holt, Billy Fleming, Ronnie Stark, Sonny Bernice, Dam Humphries and Dennis Remillard with Jimmy Smith and Robert Mulligan serving as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 16 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion.

Rabun Lee Hicks (11-29-2006)
Funeral services for Rabun Lee Hicks, 78, of Farmerville will be held at 11 am, Wed., Nov. 29, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Farmerville, with Bro. Woodrow Hudson officiating. interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Farmerville.

Mr. Hicks was born on July 26, 1928 in Farmerville and Passed away at his residence on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Hicks was known to his friends as “Foots.” He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved working in his garden. His favorite pastimes was sitting under the red plum tree chatting with his brothers and friends and watching the Saints and Atlanta Braves.

Mr. Hicks was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from IMC Chemical Plant in Sterlington, LA in 1991. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Emma Hicks, brother, J.D. Hicks, sister, Ila Mae Hampton and infant grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Josephine K. Hicks and his children, Kay Carroll and husband, Pat, Terry Hicks and wife Lynn, Vickie Bryant and husband, Mike all of Farmerville and Tracey North and husband Jordan of Linville; Grandchildren-Kim Booth, Wendy and Marc Holden, Joe and Casy Spatafora, Greg Hicks, Alexandra Hicks, Shannon Bryant, Jason and Jessica Bryant, Emily and Chris Mike, Alison North and Jordan Lee North; Great grandchildren-Torri Booth, Abigail Holden, Lexie Holden, Chase Spatafora, Kinslee Spatafora, Leah Bryant and Cadence Rabano; Brothers, Roland Hicks, Jesse J. Hicks, and Zane Hicks; Sister, Lunnie Anderson; Canine Companions-Smoky, Candy and Ashley.
Pallbearers will be Joe Spatafora, Greg Hicks, Jason Bryant, Marc Holden, Billy Anderson, Leonard Hicks, Ryan Hicks, J.N. Williams and Booby Earl Hicks.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gerald Savage, Virgil Ramsey and Jerry Ramsey.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tues., Nov. 28, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Farmerville.

Memorials may be made to Liberty Hill Cemetery Fund.

Thomas K. Kaheiki, Jr. (11-29-2006)
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas K. Kaheiki, Jr. 68, of Farmerville were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26 at Conway Baptist Church with Bro. Daniel Hall and Bro. Jerry Adkins officiating. interment was in the Conway Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.

Mr. Kaheiki, a retired 1st Sgt. with the United States Army, died Wednesday November 22, 2006. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of Conway Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Kaheiki and parents Thomas K. Kaheiki, Sr. and Harriet Kaheiki.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Thomas K. Kaheiki, III and April Kaheiki of Conway and a host of other relatives.

Pallbearers were: Arthur Paschal, J. W. Bunn, George Pall, Shawn Simpson, Kenny Simpson and Gary Canterberry. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Farrar Funeral Home, 312 Smith St., Farmerville 71241.

Linda Green Wade (11-29-2006)
Funeral services for Linda Green Wade 57, of Bernice, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Beulah Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA. Officiating will be Bro. Jeff Hurst. Graveside services will be held in Barbaur, County, Ala., at Pine Level Cemetery.
Linda was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Farmerville she is preceded in death by her mother Olivia Julene Green.

She is survived by her daughters, Priscilla LaRoe and husband Brandon of Bernice; Julie Coleman and husband Ron of Birmingham, Alabama; Olivia Wade and Alana Wade of Farmerville; brothers, Larry Green, Jimmy Green and Carl Green of Montgomery, Ala. grandchildren; Hunter and Avery LaRoe of Bernice; Madison and Grayson Coleman of Birmingham, Ala.

Memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Susie Reed (11-29-2006)
Susie Reed, a homemaker, age 47, Passed away Nov. 21, 2006. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Doyle James Conville and Sylvia Hale; and a brother, D. J. Conville, II.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Perdue of Downsville; 2 sons: Wayne Weeks and Shane Weeks both of Carthage, Texas ; 2 daughters: Angela Weeks of Carthage, Texas . and Christina Reed of West Monroe; 4 brothers: Doyle Festerman of Shreveport; John Shelby Conville of Farmerville; Jeff Wayne Conville of Hodge and David Farel Conville of Hodge.
5 Grandchildren: Lindsy Weeks, Patrick Weeks, Tommy Weeks, James Roberts & Hope Reed.

Mack D. Cox, Jr. (11-30-2006)
Funeral Services for Mack D. Cox Jr. 75, of Downsville, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 at Holmesville Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Whitman. interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Cox was a resident of Union Parish for the past 40 years and a member of Holmesville Baptist Church. He was a U.S.A.F. veteran and retired from Riverwood International Paper Company after 40 years of service. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Amber Cox, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Maxie Elliott Cox of Downsville; sons, Rickie Cox and wife Susan of Downsville; Mickey Cox and wife Marilyn of West Monroe; grandchildren, Andrew and Emily Cox of West Monroe, LA; 2 sisters, Earline Cox Odom of West Monroe; and Ella Mae Cox Fuller of West Monroe; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Holmesville Baptist church, Holmesville cemetery or the charity of donor’s choice.

Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Earl Cox, John Evans Jr., Curtis Gray Allen, Larry Cash, David Taylor and Tommy Coleman.

Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Joe L. Brown (12-01-2006)
Graveside Services for Joe L. Brown, 64 of Farmerville, will be held at Friday, Dec. 1 at 2:30 p.m. at Wards Chapel Cemetery in Farmerville. Jay McCallum will be officiating, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville.

Mr. Brown was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography and marksmanship. He had worked in the roofing industry his entire life and had served at one time as a consultant for the La. State Roofing Association. He was a member of the Brown Recreation Association Hunting Club and a member of The Church of Christ. He had been a member of the Ruston Lions Club. Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his son Joe A. Brown.

He is survived by his wife Linda Anderson Brown of Farmerville, LA; daughters Terry Baker and husband Tommy Baker of Farmerville, LA; Aleia Harbour and husband Jim of Farmerville, LA; sister, Anita C. Brown of Farmerville LA; brother, David O. Brown and wife Sue of Farmerville, LA; 5 step children, Krista Duty and husband Mark of Sterlington, LA; Chris Satterwhite and wife Nicole of Rocky Branch, LA; Samantha Satterwhite of Farmerville, LA; George Satterwhite and Tommy Satterwhite, both of Farmerville, LA; grandchildren, Cody, Ashley, Danna Jo, Austin, Zane, Shelby, Christopher, Cory, Alissa, Matt, Lane, Tommy, Angela, Jason, Ben and Stephanie. 1 great-grandchild Tailen.

Pallbearers will be: Cody Newcomb, Chris Satterwhite, Zane Duty, Bob Armer, Michael Payne, Robin Pace, Jeff White and Andy Neely.

Honorary Pallbearers: Lane Terral, Billy Floyd Pearson, Wayne Dring and David Burns.
Visitation will be held prior to services Friday, December 1, 2006 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Tommy J. Dollar (12-06-2006)
Tommy Passed away on Nov. 29 following a long illness contracted after a blood transfusion in 1976.

He was preceded in death by his one daughter, Mary Gale Dollar, his father, William J. Dollar, and his mother Doris J. Dollar. He is survived by: one daughter, Sarah Dollar and one granddaughter, Ainsley-both Montana; two sisters: Dianne Lightsey of West Monroe, and Janice Trichel of Farmerville; three brothers, William G. Dollar of Conway, Herbert D. Dollar of Farmerville and Johnny E. Dollar of Marion; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is also survived by his fiancé, Barbara Wall who filled his last months with love, peace and contentment. His twin niece and nephew, Cayten and Carmen, will miss their “Uncle Paw Paw”.

Tommy was a talented craftsman, musician and vocalist. He will be deeply missed.
Mlitary service: United States Navy- late 1960s.

Visitations commenced at 5 p.m. Friday at Liberty Baptist Church near Linville. Funeral services will also be at Liberty Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday with interment following in the church cemetery, under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Pallbearers were Brian Perkins, Justin Perkins, Michael E. Dollar, Michael D. Dollar, Tyrone McPherson, Ronnie Stripling, Clifton Snell and Benny Ford.

Memorials should be made to appropriate foundations to further research relating to liver disorders.

Visitation was Nov. 25, 2006 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Alma Mae Duncan Fife (12-06-2006)
Funeral services for Alma Mae Duncan Fife, 67, of Haile, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville. Officiating will be Rev. Ron Lowe Chaplain. interment will be held in Liberty at Linville Cemetery.

Mrs. Fife Passed away after a brief illness at her residence on Dec. 1, her favorite past time was fishing and hunting with her husband.

She is survived by her husband Bryant Fife of Haile; daughter, Jackyln Robbels of Glendale, Calif.; son, Martin Sebits of Springtown, Texas ; daughter Pam Swindell of Lakeworth, Texas ; daughter, Tracy Sebits of Springtown, Texas ; step –son Paul Duncan of Springtown, Texas ; step-daughter, Tracy Williams of Springtown, Texas ; step daughter Lorettta Fife of Hail; step-son, Chester Fife of Haile; brother Robert Dixon of Maryville; Joel Dixon, David Dixon and James Dixon, sister, Imgene Law all of Maryville, Tenn. 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were: Dudly Brown, David W. Cox, Doyle Scarborough, Chester Fife, Wayne Mitcham and Kenneth Mitcham.

Honorary pallbearer: Shelton Fife.

Dr. Lily Stoppleworth (12-13-2006)
B.A., M.A., M. Ed., Ed.D.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dr. Lily Stoppleworth, age 35, of Ruston, La. will be held on Dec. 10, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
Lily was born on May 24, 1971 in El Dorado, Ark. and Passed away on Dec. 7, 2006 in Shreveport, La. following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She grew up in Spearsville.

Lily was a loving and beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and teacher who spent countless hours in service to others. She was generous with, and fiercely protective of, those she loved - and each loved on knew how she felt about them because she communicated it so often and in so many ways. Lily was the rare soul who lived life in the moment and de-emphasized the material things. She had a true talent for finding beauty in the unlikeliest of places (and people). While Lily didn’t remain material possessions for herself, she adored finding “treasures” and was addicted to garage sales and Ebay. She delighted in locating a 10 cent item and re-selling it for a dollar.

As a teacher, Lily believed that character education was vital and sought everyday to remind students of their potential. While she received recognition for her achievements in character education, Lily wanted to do so much more and had planned a book on the subject.

Survived by: her husband Rob Stoppleworth; her son Justin Stoppleworth; her father Don Hogan, and wife Barbara of Downsville; her mother Glenda York of Spearsville; four sisters, Carie Hogan of Spearsville; Tammy Jerry and husband Mac of Junction City, Ark., and their children Chase and Kayla; Donna Rockett and husband Josh of Spearsville, and their children Jackson and Julie; Terri Cousins and husband Ron of Denton, Texas , and their children Meagan and Josh; paternal grandparents D.J. and Maxine Hogan of Glemora; maternal grandparents Edna Albritton and husband Harold of Spearsville and the late Gleen Bryan; and an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and students.

John M. Miller ‘Buck’ (12-13-2006)
Funeral services for Mr. John M. Miller “Buck,” 70, of Point-Wilhite, were at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 at Farrar Funeral Home with Bros. Clyde Kelley and Donovan Saunders officiating. interment will be in Eros at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.

Mr. Miller, a retired oilfield platform supervisor, died Dec. 8.

2006. He was a Korean War Veteran, a member of the NRA, an avid hunter and outdoorsman, a loving husband of 48 years, as well as a loving father and grandfather. He was their hero.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Miller of Point-Wilhite; 6 children: Sherri Henderson and husband, Joe of Calhoun; James Miller and wife, Angela of Holmesville; Donna Saunders and husband, Donovan of Sterlington; Evelyn Tatum and husband, James of Farmerville; David Miller and wife, Christy of Point-Wilhite; and Danyal Loftin and husband, Michael of Shreveport.

3 brothers: James Miller of Shreveport; Glenn Miller of West Monroe.; and Kenneth Miller also of West Monroe.

4 sisters: Mae Griffith of West Monroe; Maudie Gibson of West Monroe; Patricia Castleberry of Texas and Virginia Hemphill of Alexandria

16 Grandchildren: Joseph Henderson, Mickie Crawford, Tabitha Henderson,
James Ray Miller, Jr., Kelly Miller, Natalie Saunders, Diana Saunders,
Kristy Saunders, Cody Tatum, Hunter Tatum, Chelsea Long, Shelby Loftin.

James R. ‘Bud’ Loe (12-13-2006)
Funeral services for James R. “Bud” Loe 58 of Downsville, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville.

Officiating was Rev. Joe Brown. interment followed in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Downsville.
Mr. Loe was born on April 2, 1948 and Passed away on December 4, 2006 in Farmerville. He is survived by his wife Melanie Loe, children; Shelby Loe, Damon Martin and wife Lisa, Lyndsey Martin and Fiance Danny Pool, Jamie Dees and husband Corey, Jeffery Loe, Jenny Loe, mother; Estelle Loe, mother in law and father in law, Chap and Sue Lockhart, brother and sister in law Mike Lockhart and wife Clementine, brother Junior Loe, Quitman Loe, Wayne Loe and Travis Loe. Sister Lucille Mason, Sue Floyd and Dorothy Loe, 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were: Michael Lockhart, Danny Pool, Shelby Loe, Damon Martin, Corey Dees and George Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be: Byron Thomas and Peyton Dowell. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville from 5 to 8 p.m.

Virginia Wall Lewis (12-13-2006)
Funeral services for Virginia Wall Lewis, age 84 of Point will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 at Providence Baptist Church in Point with interment following at Acree Cemetery in Point under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville. Revs. Jerry Brossett, Billy Carter and Johnny Sanders will officiate.

Mrs. Lewis was born in Amory, Miss. on Sept. 22, 1922 and went to be with the Lord on Dec. 5, 2006 after a brief illness.

She was a homemaker after moving to Point in 1959, following her husband’s Air Force career.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lewis; a brother, Oscar Leroy Wall and her sister, Eugenia Wall. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Gene Abbey; daughter and son-in-law, Tamara and Ernie Bruce; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Donna Lewis all of Point; one sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Joe Himes of New Baltimore, Va.; 5 grandchildren: Laura Abbey of Luling; Lance Bruce of Point, and fiancée, Wende Joyner of Meridian, Miss.; Megan Reeder and husband, Brandon of Point; Aaron Lewis and wife, Amber of Farmerville; Tara Lewis of Patterson; 2 step grandchildren: Derek and Lane Mims of Point; and 1 great grandchild: Abigail Reese Lewis.

Pallbearers are Lance Bruce, Aaron Lewis, Brandon Reeder, Benny Wink, Barry Antley and Roger Antley.

Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of service. Special thanks to Patient‚s Choice Hospice services, Wanda Barkley, Merle Harper, and Lynette Wade, C-FNP. Memorials can be made to Providence Baptist Church or to a charity of choice.
