Norris
Neotha "Mama Dota" Johnson Norris, a homemaker, died Tuesday at River Region Hospice House. She was 91.
Mrs. Norris was born in Sellers and lived in New Sarpy. She attended McDonald 35 School in New Orleans. Survivors include two daughters, Delores Price and Joyce Wilderson, both of New Sarpy; a brother, Lawrence Johnson of New Sarpy; three sisters, Hattie Parquet, Viola "Cootie" Wilson and Beatrice Cherie of New Orleans; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held on May 21 at St. Matthew's Baptist Church in New Sarpy.
Senia
Yvonne Duffy Senia died May 26 of congestive heart failure at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was 73.
Mrs. Senia was born in Greenfield, Mo., and lived in Destrehan for the past 35 years.
Survivors include her husband, Rocco A. Senia; three sons, Steven and Danny Cox and Robin Cole; a daughter, Vickie Barthel; a stepdaughter, Rhonda Watson; a brother, Max Duffy; two sisters, Phyllis Hunt and Kay Meyers; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held May 31.
St. Amant
Dennis J. St. Amant Jr., a retired lieutenant with the St. Charles Parish sheriff’s office, died Sunday of a heart attack. He was 70.
Mr. St. Amant was a lifelong resident of Luling. He was the husband of the late Catherine Lagattuta St. Amant. Survivors include two sons, Michael A. St. Amant and Dennis J. St. Amant III; five daughters, Cathy S. Jones, Susette S. Higgins, Wendy S. Gomes, Yvette S. Israel and Sheila S. Jacobs; two sisters, Mary S. Norfleet and Margaret S. Fiegenschue; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass was held on May 11 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1 Rectory Lane in Hahnville.
Tamburello
Norman G. Tamburello died on May 26.
He is survived by wife, Helen T. Tamburello; two sons, Philip and wife Lorraine Tamburello and Michael J. Tamburello Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila T. and Mickey Cadow; brothers, Joseph and Victor Tamburello; sisters, Mary T. St. Martin, Lena T. Smagacz, and Carrie T. Bourque; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on May 28. Entombment is at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum. H.C. Alexander Funeral Home of Norco was in charge of arrangements.
Varvaro
Lena Mae Alleman Varvaro of Destrehan died on May 17.
She was born on September 8, 1932 in White Castle and lived in Destrehan most of her life. Mrs. Varvaro was a homemaker and involved in politics for over 50 years.
She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond (Cider) Varvaro, Sr. Loving mother of Ray and Rita Varvaro. Daughter of the late Albert and Lucille Millet Alleman. Sister of Lois Naquin, Albert Alleman Jr., and the late Evans Alleman, Audrey Alleman, and Marie Lauve. Grandmother of Missy Rome, Craig and Kenny Perrier, Derek, Michelle, and Kristin Varvaro. Also survived by beloved friend, Pam Morrissey who helped her in good times and sickness.
Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend the visitation at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home of Norco on May 20 from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial took place at 12 noon at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan. Interment in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.

Washingon
Pastor Echete Washington Sr., pastor of Metropolitan Church of God in Christ, died May 12 of a heart attack at Life Care Hospital. He was 46. Pastor Washington was born in New Orleans and lived in St. Rose before moving to New Orleans. He graduated from Destrehan High School. He was a member of Warriors for Christ Men's Outreach and had worked for U Park Parking Garage.
Survivors include his wife, Qwendolyn Wilson Washington; two sons, Ezra Washington and Echete Washington Jr.; three daughters, Myoshi Robinson, Shekener Obianwu and Shamyar Washington; three brothers, Mark and Joseph Washington Jr., and Jason Farlough; two sisters, Jennifer Keeling and Elita Washington; a grandfather, Charles Wiggs; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral was held on May 21 at Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Weber
Perrin Joseph Weber died May 15 in Norco. He was 72.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Duhe Weber; son, Duane Weber; sisters; Merlene St. Pierre and Deanna Maus; and 4 grandchildren: Walker and Jadelynn Brignac, Dustin and Dylan Weber. Preceded in death by parents; Peran and Clementine Dupuy Weber; daughter, Karen Weber Brignac; son, Derrin Weber; brothers and sister, Marlvain Weber, Glynn Weber, and Margaret Laurent.
Visitation was on May 17 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on May 18 from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Mass of Christian Burial took place on May 18 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norco. Entombment in St. Peter’s Mausoleum in Reserve.

Williams
Junious "JW" Williams, a retired employee of St. Charles Grain Elevator in Destrehan, died May 12 at his home. He was 80.
Mr. Williams was born in New Orleans and lived in New Sarpy for 55 years. He graduated from Lowery Training School in Donaldsonville and attended Leland College in Baker. He was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Williams; a son, Kenneth Williams; three daughters, Cheryl Cloudet, Gail Baudy and Karen Hawthorne; a brother, Leroy Williams; a sister, Octavia Johnson; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held on May 19 at St. Matthew's Baptist Church, in New Sarpy, followed by burial at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.
Woods
Kylyn Reneé Woods died May 20 at Charity Hospital of injuries suffered in a hit-and-run. She was 4.
Kylyn was born in Metairie and lived in Luling. She attended P.K. Boutte Christian Academy, where she was on the honor roll. She also received the Phonics Award, the Numbers Award, the Music Appreciation Award, the Physical Education Appreciation Award and the Personal Respecting Award.
Survivors include her father, Edmond R. Woods; her mother, Hope Reneé Woods her grandparents, Debbie and Tom Clark and Edmond and Connie Woods; and her great-grandfather, Chuck Clark.
A Mass was said May 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan. Visitation began at 10 a.m. Burial took place at All Saints Mausoleum. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Aubert
Louis Aubert Jr. died June 9 of a heart attack at St. Charles Parish Hospital. He was 47.
Mr. Aubert was born in Lutcher and lived in Destrehan.
Survivors include his wife, Aletea Stewart Aubert; a daughter, Lacy Aubert; a stepdaughter, Richon Jones; a stepson, Richard Jones IV; five sisters, Octavia Bright, Claudia Robertson, Lilly Francis, Jennifer Thompson and Jacquelyn Michaels; seven brothers, Lloyd Jackson, Robert Aubert Sr., Kenneth Aubert Sr., and Alvin, Gerald, Tremille and Calvin Aubert.
A funeral was held Saturday. Burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Brazier-Watson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Becnel
Etiennette "Net" Jeanne Steib Becnel died on June 19. She was 84.
Mrs. Becnel was a native of Vacherie and a resident of Luling.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond G. Becnel, Sr.; her parents, Etienne and Elizabeth Falgout Steib; a daughter-in-law, Maisy Hymel Becnel; a son-in-law, Darwin Guillory; a child, Berris Becnel; four brothers, Berris, Rene, Adolph, and Albert Becnel, one sister, Josephine Reulet; one great granddaughter, Kaylie Barras; and one great-great grandson, Colby Falcon.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Terry, Raymond, and Chris Becnel, Marlene Guillory, Carolyn and Harry Millien, Sr. of Donaldsonville, Beverly and George Borne, Jr., and Susanne and Gerald Zeringue; one sister, Prudent Steib of Vacherie, 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on June 22. Burial in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church's cemetery in Vacherie.
Becnel
Joseph Eno Becnel died June 3. He was 79.
Mr. Becnel was a native of Vacherie and a resident of Luling. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Church and a member of the VFW Post 3750 of Luling and the American Legion of Luling.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Dupont Becnel; parents, Bernard Becnel Sr., and Aimee Steib Becnel; four brothers, Bernard Jr., Pierre, Albert, and Ray Becnel; and two sisters, Marie Antoinette Reulet and Genevieve Labat. Survivors include two sons, Lyle and Pierre Becnel; three daughters, Amanda Campbell, Lisa Becnel Edwards, and Sarah Thigpen; and six grandchildren, Joshua, Kara, and Jessica Becnel, Blaine and Wesley Thigpen, and Garrett Campbell.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on June 6. Burial in St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.
Arrangements were under the direction of Falgout Funeral Homes, Inc. of Raceland.
Blanchard
Edna Jean Little Blanchard died June 11 at Ormond Nursing and Care Center. She was 85.
Mrs. Blanchard was born in Wellington, New Zealand, and lived in Destrehan. She was a baker at St. Lawrence the Martyr School.
Survivors include a son, Louis Blanchard; a daughter, Robyn Blanchard Buccola; and five grandchildren. A private service was held. Landry Funeral Home of Thibodaux handled arrangements.
Brown
Florence "Madea" Brown died June 14 at Universal Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. She was 89.
Mrs. Brown was born in Yazoo City, Miss., and lived in New Sarpy, LaPlace and Jackson. She served as head deaconess and Mother of the church at Wayside Church of Deliverance in Jackson.
Survivors include three daughters, Emma Narcisse of LaPlace and Minnie and Bernice Green; four sons, Percy Hollins Sr. of LaPlace, James Blount of Metairie, Ben Blount and Lynell Brown; a stepsister, Mary Lee Barker; 44 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Saturday. Burial in Marl Grove Church Cemetery in Byram, Miss. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Catanzano
Felicie D. Catanzano died June 26 at Waldon Health Care Center. She was 91.
Mrs. Catanzano was born in Sunshine and lived in St. Rose for the past 80 years. She was a retired employee of TG&Y Department Stores. She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and was a member of its Altar Society and the St. Rose Rosary Group. She was a member of the St. Charles Parish Council on Aging and American Legion Post No. 366 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary C. Bader and Lena C. Leggio.
A Mass was said Friday. Burial will be in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.
David
Yvonne Molaison David died June 2 of a pulmonary embolism at Kenner Regional Medical Center. She was 73.
Ms. David was born in New Orleans and lived in Kenner for the past 33 years. She graduated from Redemptorist High School. She worked at St. Charles General for more than 20 years and was a former receptionist at Touro Infirmary.
Survivors include two sons, Christopher and Roland David Jr.; two daughters, Karen D. Holmack and Sheryl D. Brown; and six grandchildren.
A Mass was said on June 13. Burial in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.
Davis
Larry Davis died June 19 of renal failure at St. Charles Hospital. He was 62.
Mr. Davis was a native and resident of Boutte.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Evelina Bourgeois and Joseph Davis, Sr.; four sisters, Joyce Campbell, Theresa Fiest, Louisa Pinkney, and Dolly Davis; and three brothers, Jacob, Lawrence, and Larry Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Colly Davis; a stepson, Ricky Sandolph; three stepdaughters, Andrea Reynolds, Shelly Young and Sonya Cummings; four brothers, Otis, Isaac, Edwards and Joseph Davis; three sisters, Elizabeth King, Bobbie Sandolph and Evelyn Alexander; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral was held June 24. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
