Bariani

Calvin P. Bariani Sr. died on July 27 at Canon Hospice. He was 80.

Mr. Bariani was born in New Orleans and lived in Destrehan for the past 20 years. He graduated from Delgado Community College. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the United Food Commercial Workers Union. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lehr Bariani; a son, Calvin P. Bariani Jr.; a daughter, Deborah Bariani Hidalgo; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A funeral was held on Aug. 1 at Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home.

Baudoin

Alvina Comardelle Breaux Baudouin died July 18. She was 83.

Ms. Baudouin was a native of Bayou Gauche and a resident of Boutte.

She is preceded in death by her husband from her first marriage, Irby Breaux; her husband from her second marriage, Edwin Baudouin; her parents, Albert and Anna Dufrene Comardelle; one daughter, Norma Breaux; three brothers, Hyman, Expo, and Simon Comardelle; and three sisters, Zoe Dufrene, Lovinia Frickey, and Alverta Dufrene.

She is survived by three sons, Herbert J., Marion M., and Marty J. Breaux; three daughters, Malinda B. Rodrigue, Marion M., and Arlene Ann Breaux; one brother, Raymond Comardelle; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

A religious service was held July 21. Burial in Sunset Cemetery in Bayou Gauche.

Baudoin

Edwin J. Baudoin died July 6. He was 81.

Mr. Baudoin was a native of St. James and a resident of Boutte.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Sr. and Aurelia Pertuit Baudoin; two brothers, Albert Jr. and James Baudoin; and one grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Alvina Comardelle Baudoin; three sons, Herbert, John, and Marty Breaux; three daughters, Malinda Rodrigue, Marion, and Arlene Breaux; two sisters, Louise B. Melancon and Shirley B. Bergeron; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A religious service was held Saturday. Burial in Sunset Cemetery in Bayou Gauche.

Brocato

Daisy Butler Brocato died July 16. She was 83.

Mrs. Brocato was a resident of Raceland and a native of Woodworth. She was involved with Daughters, the A.A.R.P., Woodmen of the World, the Italian Society, and the Homemaker’s Club. She loved flowers and travel.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Vincent “Joe” Brocato; her parents, Richard and Clara Lacoze Butler; five brothers, Horace, J. Clarence, Charlie, Floyd, and Eugene Butler; and one sister, Beaulah C. Butler.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Clara and Donald Theriot and Linda and Glynn Rhodes; one sister, Pearl Maye Butler Rybiski; three grandchildren and their spouses, Jeffrey and Wendy Theriot, Annette and Victor Blanchard, and Donnell and Jason DeSandro; and seven great grandchildren, Justin, Brady, and Lauren Theriot, Claire Blanchard, and Collin, Devin, and Carly DeSandro.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held yesterday. Burial in St. Mary’s Nativity Church cemetery in Raceland.

Burch

Peggy Sue Creppel Burch died July 26 of a heart attack at her home. She was 45.

Mrs. Burch was born in New Orleans and lived in Paradis for two years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Marrero.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Wayne Burch; three sons, Terry Ray, Jason Paul and Dewayne Michael Burch; a daughter, Shannon Leigh Burch; a brother, Tilden Creppel Jr.; a sister, Linda Kay; and four grandchildren.

A funeral was held on July 29. Burial in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Westwego.

Cadard

Jason Matthew Cadard, a native of Metarie and resident of Ama, died on July 31. He was 24 years old.

He is survived by his father, Louis August Cadard III, mother Suzanne Henderson Moriarity, brother Brad Cadard, half-sister Kaitlin Cadard and grandparents Louis Cadard Jr. and Marie Kahael Cadard and Donald and Mary Spegal Henderson.

A funeral was held on Aug. 4 at Geisler Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, followed by burial at Sand Hill Cemetery.

Cadis

Michael Patrick Cadis died July 4 at St. Charles Medical Center in Luling of complications from a liver transplant.

Mr. Cadis was an account executive for Network Telephone. He was a Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Sylvester Cadis; a son, Nicholas Cadis; two daughters, Corinne and Rachel Cadis; his father, Clifford Cadis; and his stepmother, Gretta Cadis.

A Mass was said Thursday. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Cange

Kevin Michael Cange died July 16. He was 43.

Mr. Cange was a native of Belleville, IL and a resident of Luling. He was a great outdoorsman and conservationist.

He is survived by his wife, Holly Boagni Cange; his son, Jacob Martin Cange; his daughter, Grace Elizabeth Cange; his parents, Bill and Joan Cange of Ft. Meyers, FL; two brothers, Steven Cange of Seabrook, TX and Jeffrey Cange of Knoxville; one sister, and her spouse, Caroline and Timothy Keys of Ft. Meyers, FL; three siblings-in-law and their spouses, Bo and Lisa Boagni of Austin, TX, Scott and Carolyn of Opelousas, and Bret and Cheri Boagni of Opelousas; and nieces and nephews, Stefan, Max, Natalie, Alexander, Andrew, Kevin, Mary Margaret, Luke, and Taylor.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday. Burial was private.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The American Heart Association are preferred.

Capitano

Anthony "Tony" Capitano Jr. died July 12 of complications from sleep apnea at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was 23.

Mr. Capitano was born in Metairie, lived in St. Charles Parish and lived in Metairie for the past 20 years. He attended East Jefferson High School. He was a member of White Dove Fellowship and Celebration Church.

Survivors include his father, Anthony Capitano Sr.; his mother, Loretta Bourgeois; his stepfather, Leon Bourgeois III; his stepmother, Tammy Capitano; two brothers, Jon and Jared Capitano; two sisters, Candie and Suzann Capitano; a stepsister, Tori Ingegniero; and his grandparents, Eunice and Kemp Landry, Sandra and Leon Bourgeois Jr., and Shirley Davis.

A funeral was held yesterday. Burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

Champagne

Nancy Markey Champagne died July 19. She was 90.

Mrs. Champagne was born in New Orleans and lived in Luling. She graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge with a degree in elementary education. She worked as a teacher in the St. Charles Parish public school district for 35 years. She was the secretary at St. Mary Baptist Church in Luling and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysses "Buck" Champagne; her parents, Nancy Price and Leon Markey; 10 siblings, Anaise Williams, Florence Colly, Florestine Mitchell, Elenora Wright, Mary Turner, Leon Jr., Ernest, Dempsey, Joseph, and Ralph Markey; and one sister-in-law, Helen C. Markey.

Survivors include two sons; Ulysses Champagne Jr. of Las Vegas and Clyde Champagne; a daughter, Carolyn C. Jackson of Luling; a sister, Lillian M. Stevenson of Baton Rouge; a daughter-in-law, Betty Champagne; two siblings-in-law, Leontine Edgerson and Mathilda Matthews; six grandchildren, Arlene Jackson-Williams, Darlene A. Jackson, Wade Jackson, Darren, Kenneth and Danielle Champagne; one grandchild-in-law, Terri Dorothy; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew Murray, Cherie L. and Shantell P. Williams; and a host of nieces nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral was held Monday. Burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft.

Colbert

Willie Colbert died on July 5 at St. Charles Hospital. He was 96.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Pernellia Colbert; his parents, Mary Adams and Eddie Colbert, Sr.; two brothers, Eddie Colbert Jr. and Charlie Tolliver; and one sister, Donna Parker.

He is survived by a devoted cousin, Mable Hills, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service was held Saturday. Burial in Shell Mound Cemetery in Des Allemands.

Cornwell

Charles "Redd" M. Cornwell Jr. died July 22 of injuries suffered in a boating accident on Bayou Des Allemands. He was 59.

Mr. Cornwell was a native and resident of Des Allemands. He was an avid outdoorsman.

Survivors include a son, Charles "Chuck" Cornwell; his father, Charles Cornwell Sr.; his mother, Mary C. Cornwell; four brothers, Grover, Billy, Ben, and Robert Cornwell; two sisters, Margaret Jean Belford and Frances Ann Ponge; and three grandchildren.

A funeral was held yesterday. Burial in the Des Allemands Mennonite Church cemetery.

Creecy

Melvin Creecy died July 15 at his home. He was 92.

Mr. Creecy was a native and resident of Montz.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorethea P. Creecy; his parents, Carrie Porche and Mark Creecy; two siblings, Herbert Creecy and Velma C. Diggs; and one grandchild, Rochelle M. Larche.

He is survived by three children and their spouses, Gloria C. and Charles Larche, Melvin J. and Jacqueline Creecy, and Wendell H. and Earline Creecy; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Creecy; four grandchildren, Charlene Larche-Mason, Devin J. and Reynard A. Creecy, and Renate' T. Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday. Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan.

Dabney

Nikita Dabney died July 15 of a gunshot wound in Destrehan. He was 20.

Mr. Dabney was born in New Orleans and lived in Destrehan.

Survivors include his parents, Sharlene and Renard Dabney Sr.; two brothers, Renard Dabney Jr. and Terry Dabney; two sisters, LaShonda and Torey Dabney; and his grandparents, Alverda Dabney and Evelyn Lee.

A funeral was held yesterday. Burial Providence Park.

Gauley

Kelly Creal Gauley died July 20 at Belle Maison Nursing Home. He was 77.

Mr. Gauley was born in Slidell and lived in Holden. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include two sons, Stacy Gauley of Covington and Robert Gauley of Hammond; three daughters, Barbara Gauley of New Orleans, Glynda G. Hurm of Destrehan and Berma Gauley of Springfield; three sisters, Lolly Henry, Sandra Carona and Brenda Randle, all of Slidell; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held yesterday. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Slidell.

Guarino

Donald Anthony "Donny" Guarino died July 10 of a gunshot wound at his home. He was 26.

Mr. Guarino was born in New Orleans and lived in LaPlace for the past six years. He graduated from Destrehan High School. He was a self-employed contractor and owner of Honeydo Roofing.

Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Belle Guarino; his father, Harold Guarino; his mother, Charlotte LeBlanc Guarino; two brothers, Michael Paul and Robert Lovelle Guarino; and his grandmother, Alice Kairdolf Guarino.

A funeral was held Wednesday. Burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
