Norman J. Perry
Services for Norman Jesse Perry, 58, will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Runner officiating. Interment will be in Robert's Cove Church of Christ cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A native of Rayne and a resident of Montgomery, Ala., Mr. Perry died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at his sister's residence in Crowley.
Mr. Perry was a member of the Church of Christ of Robert's Cove.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Meaux Perry of Montgomery, Ala.; six sons, Michael D. Perry of New Iberia, Mark Keith Perry of Nashville, and Jeffrey Wayne, Derwin Keith, Gregory Paul and Randy Paul Perry, all of Montgomery, Ala.; four daughters, Donna Lynn Heaton, Sharon Ann Ream and Amanda Nicole Perry, all of Montgomery, Ala., and Monica Lynn Kelley of Baytown; one brother, Charles Calvin Perry of Alexandria; two sisters, Wilma Smith and Ola Magnon, both of Crowley; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Perry was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin Wayne and Troy Wayne Perry; his parents, Leslie Arnold and Sarah Morgan Perry; one brother, Leslie Arnold Perry Jr.; and his grandparents, Hampton and Elise Perry.
Pallbearers will be Michael D., Mark Keith, Jeffrey Wayne, Derwin Keith, Gregory Paul and Randy Paul Perry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Heaton, Roy Kelley, Ronnie and Cody Ream, and Chris Terrell.

DELCAMBRE - Services for Lillie D. Roy, 91, the former Lillie Decuir, will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas Voorhies and Rev. Alvin Dixon officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. today with an 8 p.m. rosary at the church, which will reopen Friday from 7 a.m. until the time of services.
A resident of Delcambre, Mrs. Roy died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at East Ridge Medical Center in Abbeville following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Roy was a member of St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Society of Delcambre.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Roy of Delcambre; one stepson, Loveless Roy of Hillister, Texas; one daughter, Shirley Roy of Delcambre; three stepdaughters, Melder Thomas of Beaumont, Texas, Joyce Vallot of New Iberia, and Eva Roy of Delcambre; one son-in-law, Frank Thomas of Delcambre; two daughters-in-law, Sylvia L. and Una Pearl Roy, both of Delcambre; one sister, Lellia Decuir of Port Arthur, Texas; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Roy was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Roy; her parents, John and Celestine Schello Decuir; her infant daughter, Gloria Roy; her stepson, Preston Roy; three brothers, Clarence, Lawrence and Clyde Decuir; two sisters, Lally Comeaux and Lillian Darokey; and her son-in-law, Leroy Vallot Sr.
Pallbearers will be Joey and Ceith Roy, Aaron Trahan, Howard Robertson, Darrell Allen and Larry Vallot.

A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Lydia, Mrs. Broussard died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at her residence.
She is survived by one daughter, Geraldine Perez, and her husband, James, of Lydia; five grandchildren, Pam Cypel, and her husband, Steve, and Tim Perez, all of Lydia, Christina Derouen, and her husband, Dwight, and Todd Perez, all of New Iberia, and Cecil Perez of Avery Island; four brothers, Ulysse, George and Ned Broussard, all of New Iberia, and Leroy Broussard of Valdosta, Ga.; and three sisters, Avie Segura of Baldwin, Sylvia Barrilleaux of Charenton, and Doris Haydel of McComb, Miss.
Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence V. Broussard; her parents, Aymar and Noame Broussard; two brothers, Sullie and Tarleton Broussard; and three sisters, Mae Bourgeois, Avia Landry and Annette Barrilleaux.

Services for Mrs. Lawrence D. "Larry" Custer, 73, the former Kathleen "Katy" Holliday, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at David Funeral Home, Trotter Street, with the Rev. Ed Downs, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen Saturday from 8-11 a.m.
A native of Marion, Ohio, a former resident of New Iberia, and a resident of Dadeville, Ala., Mrs. Custer died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at her residence.
Mrs. Custer was the former owner of Katy's Hallmark and was former queen of the Krewe of Andalusia. She was a member of the Fortnightly Three, the Women's Club, Eastern Star and the Krewe of Iberians.
She is survived by her son, Larry R. Custer of Slidell; her daughter, Pam Custer of Dadeville, Ala.; her sister, Nancy H. Eubanks of Jacksons Gap, Ala.; one grandson, Michael J. Churchman of Denver; three granddaughters, Amy C., Becky E. and Katie W. Custer, all of Slidell; her daughter-in-law, Vicki Custer of Slidell; her granddaughter-in-law, Suzane B. Churchman of Denver; and her brother-in-law, J. Norris Eubanks of Jacksons Gap, Ala.
Mrs. Custer was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence D. "Larry" Custer; her parents, Raymond H. and Ruth Anderson Holliday; and her brother, Richard O. Holliday.

A resident of Abbeville, Mrs. DeJean died at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at University Medical Center in Lafayette following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. DeJean was a member of Mount Triumph Baptist Church, where she was a member of the senior choir and the Home Mission Society. She also was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the singing convention.
She is survived by her mother, Julia Harrison Levine of Abbeville; two sons, Howard Keith DeJean of Fort Sill, Okla., and Harold James DeJean of San Diego; her stepson, George Anthony DeJean of Dallas; two stepdaughters, Elsby Neal of Mesquite, Texas, and Vanessa DeJean of Houston; five brothers, Rev. Lawerence Levine of South Bend, Ind., Lloyd Levine of Port Arthur, Texas, Alton and Lennis Levine, both of Dallas, and Wilmer Levine of Crowley; one sister, Alma L. Guidry of Abbeville; her daughter-in-law, Sharon DeJean of Fort Sill, Okla.; five godchildren; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. DeJean was preceded in death by her father, Howard Levine Jr.; her husband, George DeJean; two brothers, Wallace and Dennis Levine; and one sister, Beatrice Petry.

Willie "Spook" Mitchell

LOS ANGELES - Services for Willie "Spook" Mitchell, 61, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at New Mount Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. John L. Hunt officiating. Interment was in Rose Hills Memorial Park cemetery in Whittier, Calif.
A native of Weeks Island and a resident of Carson, Calif., for many years, Mr. Mitchell died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at his home following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Mitchell was a member of the U.S. Navy and the American Legion Post 352. He was founder of the 40s and 50s Social Club of Carson, Calif., and was a copier repair technician with Copy Fax Communications until he retired in 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Williene Mitchell; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Mitchell of Houston, and Jonathan "Jon" Mitchell of Carson, Calif.; one daughter, Stephani Mitchell of Carson, Calif.; two brothers, John Raney Mitchell, and his wife, Sylvia, of Inglewood, Calif., and Carroll Joseph Mitchell, and his wife, Gerri, of Hawthorne, Calif.; two sisters, Dorothy M. Johnson, and her husband, Obie, of Los Angeles, and Stella Faye M. Johnson, and her husband, Van, of New Iberia; and three grandchildren, Danyelle, Keasia and Kelsie.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, John Mitchell Jr. and Thelma Villery Mitchell; one brother, James "Ham" Mitchell; and his grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers were his nephews and friends of the family.

Services for Ceola Mitchell, 80, the former Ceola Youman, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Syrie officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Baptist Church cemetery No. 1 in Freetown.
Visitation will be Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
A native of New Iberia and a resident of Jennings for many years, Mrs. Mitchell died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.
She is survived by three brothers, Wilbert Youman of New Iberia, James Youman of St. Martinville, and Leonard Youman of Olivier, N.C.; three sisters, Joyce Brown and Ella Youman, both of New Iberia, and Alma Roy of Port Arthur, Texas; one uncle, Issac Simon Sr. of Coteau; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Mitchell; her parents, Willie and Thelma Simon Youman; her stepmother, Mary Youman; her sister, Beatrice Harris; and four brothers, Joseph, William, Thomas and Telpher Youman.

A native of Haynesville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Sale died at 8:10 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center.
Mr. Sale was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II as a paratrooper. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Silver Star Medals.
He is survived by two sons, Austin T. Sale of New Iberia, and Owen K. Sale of Sunset; three daughters, Ouida Jackson of New Iberia, Charlotte Mason of Breaux Bridge, and Tenley Olivier of Arnaudville; and seven grandchildren, Rachel Jackson Schwing, John Jackson, Christopher Mason, Thad and Paige Olivier, and Lindsey and Elliot Sale.
Mr. Sale was preceded in death by his wife, Crystal Troell Sale; one son, Curtis Roy Sale; his parents, Reginold and Mary Lou Greer Sale; and three brothers, Joseph Russell, Austell Greer and Marion McClendon Sale.

A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Esteve died at 9:15 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center.
Mr. Esteve was employed by Acadiana Profile as a commercial artist for over 18 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Hollier Esteve of Jeanerette; and two sisters, Bernice E. Romero of New Iberia and Lucille E. Trimble of Jeanerette.
Mr. Esteve is preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Ella Durocher Esteve; a sister, Hortense De-Bois-Blanc; and three brothers, Arthur and Leonard Esteve and Harry Esteve Sr.
