HAVERHILL -- Mrs. Lillian F. (Sax) Coltin, 94, of Haverhill, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 30, 2006, at Baker Katz Nursing Home, Haverhill. She was born in Lowell on April 6, 1912, daughter of the late David and Sarah (Perleman) Sax. Educated in the Lowell School system, Mrs. Coltin graduated from Lowell High School. For several years she was employed as a bookkeeper in the local shoe industry. Prior to moving to Haverhill in 1998 she resided in Lewiston, Maine; Manchester, N.H.

James M. Burson, 82
SHIRLEY -- James M. Burson, 82, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at his home following an illness. Mr. Burson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marian E. (Mallinson) Burson; a son and daughter-in-law, James H. and Sandy Burson of Townsend; and a sister, Shirley Summers of Seattle, Wash. He also leaves four grandchildren, James H. Burson Jr., Jason Burson, Justin Burson, Jennifer Burson and six great-grandsons. He was predeceased by a brother, Daniel Burson of San Diego, Calif.

Ronzio, Charles A., 81
BRADENTON, Fla. -- Charles Anthony Ronzio, a former resident of Billerica and Townsend, who worked for the MBTA for more than three decades, died at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida on Aug. 8, 2006. He was 81. He was born in Cambridge, Oct. 27, 1924. Mr. Ronzio was the son of the late Vincent and Ida (Ledger) Ronzio. He was educated in the Cambridge schools and graduated from Ringe Tech.

Rimikis, Michael, 78
Rimikis needs a flag too TOWNSEND -- Michael Rimikis, 78, of Main St, Townsend, died Wednesday Aug. 16, at his home. He was the husband of the late Helen E. (Lowery) Rimikis, who passed away in 2001. Mr. Rimikis was born on May 11, 1928 in Wilkinsburg, PA, a son of Floyd and Emily (Magyarosh) Rimikis. He had resided in Pennsylvania until moving to Townsend in 1948 shortly before he was married.

King, Margaret, 89
GROTON -- Margaret King, 89, died peacefully at her home in RiverCourt Residences in Groton, Massachusetts on Aug. 20, 2006. She was born in Medina, New York on Aug. 24, 1916, daughter of the late Earl and Bertha Smith. She was the wife of the late Robert King who died in 1999. She grew up in the western New York area and was a graduate of Buffalo State College where she received a bachelor’s degree in education.

Brown, June B., 71
GLOUCESTER -- June B. (Forsberg) Brown, 71, wife of Richard E. Brown DMD, of 27 Souther Road, Gloucester, died on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Addison Gilbert Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born in Gloucester, MA on June 28, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Frank E.R. and Olga (Olson) Forsberg. Mrs. Brown attended Gloucester schools and was a graduate of Gloucester High School, class of 1953.

Ayott, James F., 56
TOWNSEND -- James F. Ayott, 56, formerly of 12 Joyce Street, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006 at the University Of Massachusetts Hospital, Worcester. Mr. Ayott was born in Lynn, Oct. 17, 1949, a son of Rita (Connor) Ayott and the late George Ayott and had resided in Townsend for over 30 years. Besides his mother of Lynn, he is survived by a son, Seth C. Ayott of Studio City, CA; a daughter, 2nd Lt. Cassandra N. [cut off]

Charles A. Giambusso, 81
AYER -- Charles A. Giambusso, Sgt. 1st Class (U.S. Army, retired) died Oct. 8, 2006, at Apple Valley Nursing Home in Ayer. He was born in East Boston on April 19, 1925, son of the late Charles and Carmella (Pasqualetto) Giambusso. He attended school in East Boston and entered the U.S. Army in 1943. Charles served in the Philippines, Germany, France, Greece and Vietnam and retired after 27 years of service. He moved to St. Augustine, Fla.

Marjorie M. Locke, 51
WARREN, Maine -- Marjorie M. (McDonald) Locke, 51, passed away while in the care of Maine Medical Center in Portland, on Sunday, July 2, 2006. Born Dec. 31, 1954, in Ayer, Mass., she was the daughter of Kenneth T. and Bertha Stanley McDonald. She was educated in Ayer schools. Marjorie had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was recently elected president of the Auxiliary at Post No. 37 in Thomaston, Maine.

Edyth Willson Mullen, 94
SOUTH DENNIS, Mass. -- Edyth Willson Mullen, 94, formerly of South Yarmouth and Ayer, Mass., died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at the Eagle Pond Rehabilitation Center in South Dennis, Mass. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Mullen and is survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins. Mrs. Mullen retired in 1973 as purchasing agent for the Army Air Force Exchange Service at Fort Devens, Mass.

Peter J. Davis, 63
GROTON, Conn. -- Peter Jonathan Davis, 63, formerly of Herndon, Va., died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Worcester, Mass. on Nov. 24, 1942, the son of Alfred P. and Phyllis K. (Milner) Davis. He was a graduate and class president of Spaulding Memorial High School, Class of 1960, in Townsend, Mass. He entered the U.S. Coast Guard in 1960, serving as a Petty Officer 1st Class, leaving the service in 1965.

Peter A. Matson, 60
TOWNSEND -- Peter A. Matson, 60, died unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at Health Alliance-Leominster Hospital, after being stricken ill at his home earlier that evening. Matson is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda J. (Oja) Matson; a son, Peter J. Matson of Townsend; a daughter and son-in-law, Caroline R. and Marty Drummond of Ashby; a sister, Susan T. Tait of Leominster; five brothers, Timothy L. Matson of Fitchburg, Jonathan W. Matson of California, Stephen T. [cut off]

Mary F. Pickard, 87
LITTLETON -- Mary F. (Condon) Pickard, 87, died at LifeCare Center of Nashoba Valley on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006. She was born in Harvard on Feb. 22, 1919, daughter of the late Patrick and Julia Ann (Herlihy) Condon and was the wife of the late Albert E. Pickard, who died in 2000. She grew up in Harvard and graduated from Bromfield Academy in 1935. She then graduated from Mt. Auburn Hospital School of Nursing in 1939. Mary worked at Mt. [cut off]

Sarah M. Bonaldi, 21
AYER -- Sarah Marie Bonaldi, 21, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester after injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She was 21. Born in Norwich, Connecticut, Ms. Bonaldi lived in James Island, S.C., and in Ayer and Shirley, Mass.

Robert E. Ordway, 68
WEST TOWNSEND -- Robert E. Ordway, 68, died unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at his home. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sheila M. (Allen) Ordway; a son, Robert H. Ordway Sr. of Ashby; two brothers, Edwin H. Ordway Jr. of West Townsend and Thomas A. Ordway of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters, Betty A. [cut off]

Roger L. Cooper, 75
PEPPERELL -- Roger L. Cooper died Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer. He was born in Patten, ME, on April 27, 1932, the son of the late Lewis and Estelle (Hanson) Cooper. He spent his very early years in Maine before moving to Pepperell at age eight where he attended the schools and later the B.F. Brown Technical School in Fitchburg. Prior to his retirement he had been employed at the Bemis Bag Co. in Pepperell and later at the James River Paper Co.

Doris E. Osborn, 79
MARLBORO, Mass. -- Doris Eleanor Osborn, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, from Whittier Rehab Hospital in Westborough. She was the wife of Abraham "Abe" Osborn for 20 years, until his death in 1995. She was born Oct. 12, 1927 in Arlington, Mass., to Warren and Virginia Hartwell. She grew up in Acton, graduating from Acton High School in 1945. She received her teaching degree from Bridgewater State Teachers College in 1949.

Viola C. Hachey, 84
LAKELAND, Fla. -- Viola Constance Hachey, 84, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at Palm Terrace Hospice from cancer. She was born July 24, 1922 in Greenville, N.H., to Phillip and Roseanne Sorette and moved to Lakeland in 1981. Viola retired from the George Frost Athletic Wear Co. in Shirley, Mass. She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lakeland. Viola is a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality and also the American Legion Post 183, all of Shirley.

Norman A. Lorden, 80
PEPPERELL -- Norman A. Lorden, 80, a longtime resident of Pepperell, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at Harris Methodist Hospital-Southwest, in Forth Worth, Texas, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Helen R. (Labonville) Lorden of Forth Worth, Texas, with whom he was married for 52 years, from Nov. 7, 1954.

PEPPERELL -- Norman A. Lorden, 80, a longtime resident of Pepperell, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at Harris Methodist Hospital-Southwest, in Forth Worth, Texas, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Helen R. (Labonville) Lorden of Forth Worth, Texas, with whom he was married for 52 years, from Nov. 7, 1954. He was born in Pepperell on Nov. 23, 1926, the son of the late Charles W. and Josephine (Gardner) Lorden. He was educated in the Pepperell school system.

Johannah 'Joan' Darling, 83
GROTON -- Johannah D. "Joan" (McGrath) Darling of Groton, age 83, died on Nov. 27, 2006, in St. Patrick's Manor, Framingham. Born in Kansas on Aug. 13, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Mullen) McGrath. She attended school and graduated from high school in Albert Lea, Minn. She furthered her education at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and became a registered nurse.

Miriam A. Johnson, 91
TOWNSEND -- Miriam A. (Hazelton) Johnson, 91, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at The Highlands in Fitchburg. Mrs. Johnson was born June 19, 1915 in Reading, the daughter of Albert and Gertrude Hazelton and had resided in Townsend since 1947. Mrs. Johnson was the wife of the late Henry K. Johnson, who died in August 1998.

Robert J. Carton, 68
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- Robert J. Carton, 68, of Samsula, Fla., died in Florida on Jan. 17, 2007. He was born in Ayer, Mass., on April 11, 1938, son of the late Joseph and Ida (McDowell) Carton. He grew up in Ayer and served in the U.S. Navy for several years on a destroyer escort.

Rita C. Szurley, 85
PEPPERELL -- Rita C. (Cote) Szurley, 85, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Mrs. Szurley was born Feb. 26, 1921 in Tewksbury, a daughter of Louis J. and Delia (Morrissette) Cote, and had lived in Pepperell for the past three years. She had been a resident of Tewksbury until moving to Albuquerque, N.M.

Norman R. Carkin Sr., 82
WEST GROTON -- Norman R. Carkin Sr. 82, died suddenly at Nashoba Valley Medical Center of Jan. 18, 2007. He was born in Pepperell on March 3, 1924, son of the late Sidney and Charlotte (Oldershaw) Carkin. A lifelong resident of Groton, Norman attended the Groton school system.

Henry R. Archambault, 88
MORRISTON, Fla. -- Henry R. "Archie" Archambault, 88, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 at the Hospice Care Center in Chiefland, Fla., after a shirt illness. He was born in Pittsford Mills, Vt., on Dec. 30, 1918, son of Henry and Charlotte Archambault. He attended school in Pepperell, Mass., and was a World War II veteran.

Robert H. Tedford Sr., 76
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Robert Harvey Tedford Sr., 76, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007. He was born May 30, 1930, in Danvers, Mass., to John J. and Clara B. (Risteen) Tedford. Mr. Tedford was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He worked as a technical writer for Digital Equipment Corp.

Ruth A. Shea, 80
SHIRLEY -- Ruth A. (Chesbrough) Shea, 80, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at her home after an illness. She was the wife of James J. "Joe" Shea, who died in May 2002. She is survived by a son, Robert D. [cut off]

David P. Paradis, 57
TOWNSEND -- David P. Paradis, 57, died on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was born in Groton, Mass., on Aug. 23, 1949, son of Norman and the late June (Jay) Paradis.
