John P. Sullivan, Jr.
John P. Sullivan, Jr., 70, of Littleton, Ma died February 7th, 2010 after a brief illness. He was born in Cambridge, Ma. He was a graduate of Littleton High School. He worked as a Lithographer at Murray Printing (Courier) of Westford and Goodway Graphics of Burlington, MA. He was discharged honorably after service in the United States Air Force. Mr. Sullivan was an automobile and aeronautic enthusiast.
He is survived by his loving companion of 20 years, Barbara Dunn of Littleton, MA, His three sons from his first marriage to Catherine Coulter Sullivan, Former Littleton Selectman Daniel M. Sullivan of Natick, MA, John W. Sullivan of Boston, MA and James P. Sullivan of Groton, MA., as well as Barbara’s children, Terri Rock of Littleton, MA, Daniel Dunn of Arlington, MA, Steven Dunn of Littleton, MA, Keith Dunn of Ayer, MA and Brenda McCurdy of Littleton, MA., as well as 9 Grandchildren.
Mr. Sullivan was predeceased by his parents John P. Sullivan, Sr., and Ann Sullivan, as well as two sisters, Ann “Dixie” DeMartin and Christine Sullivan.
Visiting Hours will be Friday 5-8 p.m. at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Anne's Church, 75 King Street, Littleton on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Marjorie “Midge” (Comstock) Klein
Marjorie “Midge” (Comstock) Klein, 90, of Bolton Road Harvard, died on February 22, at Brooksby Village in Peabody with her family around her after a long illness. She was born in Hartford, CT on August 9.1919, daughter of the late Howard and Olga (Nelson) Comstock and was the wife of the late J. Lester Klein who died in 1985
She grew up in West Hartford, Ct, and graduated from Children’s Hospital Nursing School. She married her husband Lester in 1941 and the made their home in Pennsylvania, Greater Boston and finally Harvard since 1960. Midge worked as a nurse at Nashoba Community Hospital in Ayer for many years.
Mrs. Klein worked into her 80s at Fruitlands Museum in Harvard as an interpreter of the Hudson River School of Art. She was a very active community volunteer in the Harvard Unitarian Church and its Caring Community. An award winning craftswoman and weaver, she created original designs and worked in many fabric mediums. Midge was a loving and involved grandmother to her grandsons.
Her survivors include a son Joseph and his wife Linda of Pine, Colorado, a daughter Jane and her husband Nelson Bright of Marblehead. She is also survived by a sister Carol Griggs of Raymond, Maine and 2 grandsons Will Bright of Santa Cruz, CA and Ross Bright of Seattle Washington.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Harvard Unitarian Church, Harvard Common of Wednesday February 24th at 11 am. A Private Burial was held at Bellevue cemetery in Harvard.

Janet (Wolfangel) Morgan
Janet (Wolfangel) Morgan, 81, of 239 Ayer Road, Littleton died at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center on February 17, 2010. She was born in Hillsdale, NJ on May14, 1928. Daughter of the late John and Margaret (Wandell) Jr. and was the wife of the late Nelson H. Morgan who passed away in 1986. She grew up in Hillsdale, NJ and was a graduate of Park Ridge High School, Park Ridge, NJ, Class of 1945. During WW2 she was a member of the U.S. Air Force Observer Corps. Janet worked for the telephone company in NY City for a number of years, and also worked for several years in the coffee shop of what is now Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
She was married on April 14, 1955 and owing to the fact that her husband was in the U.S. Air Force they lived in many different areas of the country, finally settling in Littleton in 1985.
She was a member of the Littleton Council on Aging and an avid part of their Mahjong Group, a member of the DAV Auxiliary, Gold Star Wives, and a member of the Nabnassett American Legion Post #437. She was a former member of the United Methodist Church of Westford. She also loved her trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, and was keenly interested in her family’s history through genealogy.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her daughters, Stacey M. and her husband Michael C. Perron of Westford, and Randee L. and her husband Christopher M. Polubinski of Lowell, 2 grandchildren Michael Nelson Perron and Jacob Daniel and his wife Heidi Targ. She is also survived a by a great grandson, Evan Jacob Targ.
Funeral Services will be held at the Badger Funeral Home 347 King Street, Littleton on Monday, February 22 at 11:30 a.m. Visiting Hours will be from 10 -11:30 a.m. prior to the Service. Burial at Fairview Cemetery, Westford. In lieu of flowers contributions in her name may be made to Littleton Council on Aging Van Fund, P.O. Box 1305, Littleton, MA 01460 or your local American Heart Assn.

Harriette B. Eggleton
Former Maine and Massachusetts Resident
HUBBARDSTON – Harriette B. Eggleton, Age 60 beloved wife of the late Terrence Eggleton, died Sunday February 21, 2010 from an extended illness.
Born in Quincy on November 6, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Robert W. Hudson of Littleton and the late Vera G. Ross of Marlborough.
Harriette was employed by Home Staffing, LLC of Worcester. She was a former graduate from Littleton High School. Recently residing in Hubbardston she was also a 20 year resident in Maine.
Harriette loved the outdoors and especially gardening, but most of all she was a devoted mother who cherished her two boys and her family.
Survivors include her two sons, Derek Eggleton of Acton, Justin “Lee” Eggleton of Hubbardston, Stepfather William Ross of Marlborough, Loving sisters Linda L’Esperence of Lunenburg, Pamela Nichols and her husband Lawrence of Acton and Deborah Hudson of Bridgewater. She is also survived by her loving brothers Robert H. Hudson of West Concord, Thomas H. Hudson IV and his wife Rhyanne of Westford and William B. Hudson and his wife Susan of Douglas. She was also a sister to the late Scott D. Hudson of Maynard.
Harriette also leaves her beloved 14 Nieces and Nephews and 13 Great Nieces and Nephews.

Willamena Rosenberger
Rosenberger, Willamena Parks, of Concord, NH, formerly of Groton, MA, April 7 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the Reverend Andrew Rosenberger of Concord, NH, formerly of Groton, MA. Devoted mother of Wilhelmina Gustavson of Exeter, NH, Eric Rosenberger of Concord, NH, Karl Rosenberger North Hampton, NH, and Leif Rosenberger of Tampa, FL. Brother of the late Charles Parks. She is also survived by 10 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. A Private Family Burial will be held. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Parish Church Unitarian, Powderhouse Road, Groton, MA on Saturday April 24, at 1 pm. In Lieu of Flowers contributions may be made to the First Parish Church of Groton.

Carl Badstubner 1931-2010
Made test equipment for the Lunar Excursion Module for Apollo 13
Carl Badstubner of Groton, MA passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday morning. Carl graduated in the class of 1949 from Fitchburg High School, worked at various jobs; Bailey's Candy Store, Murnick's Restaurant, and as a surveyor’s assistant for Alden Marble Associates, a job that helped him find his niche in the military.
He was drafted in September of 1952 and completed his basic training at Ft. Dix. He was then assigned to the 3rd Battalion Heavy Mortar Co. 351st Infantry Regiment. Following that, he was sent to Trieste, Italy for a tour of duty from Jan. 1953 to Sept. 1954. He was able to travel during that time to Switzerland, France, Germany and Italy where he enjoyed skiing in Cortina. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal in September of 1954.
He met his wife, Barbara in 1955 at Intervale, NH on a ski trip with The Floppenaufen Ski Club. They married in 1958 in Milford, NH. A Blessing of the Wedding was celebrated at Christ Church, Fitchburg on April 12, 1958. After he graduated from Worcester Jr. College with an Assoc. of Electronic Engineering, he held various positions as a senior tech and electronic engineer at Frequency Sources, RCA, GTE, and Digital.
While he worked at RCA, he won the technical excellence team award and a personal award for his work in designing test equipment for The LEM, lunar excursion module, for the nation's space program's Apollo missions, working with aero-space engineers and scientists to help win the space race against the Soviet Union.
He worked to adjust to new technology, making the transition from analog to digital engineering and moving into the world of computers and television. During this time, Carl began building his own television set from a kit in the 60's, a process that led him to work for research and design with Digital. He enjoyed keeping up with technology; "Grandpa Gadget, " as the nine grandchildren called him. He enjoyed seeing their latest gadgets. He was always fascinated with GPS and digital television and the latest capabilities of cell phones. He enjoyed woodworking and was a lay reader at Christ Church, Fitchburg, MA for many years. He was also a member of Pepperell Christian Fellowship.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his sister Lois Lamb of Engelwood, Florida, his daughter Beth and her husband David Koopman of West Newbury, MA, his son Kurt Badstubner and his wife Eileen of Shrewsbury, MA his daughter Heidi and her husband Peter Pierce of Amherst, NH and his nine grandchildren; Chelsea, Greta, Hannah, Peter, Samuel, Jared, John, Jefferey and Anna. A wake will be held at Badger Funeral Home in Groton from 5-8 pm on Sunday. A memorial service will take place at Pepperell Christian Fellowship on Monday at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1878 Merrifield, VA 22116-8001, or to Pepperell Christian Fellowship, 17 Main St. Pepperell, MA 01463.

Linda M. (DeSilvio) Farnsworth
Linda M. (DeSilvio) Farnsworth, of Shirley, formally of Littleton died at her home on March 30, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Ayer on December 3, 1944 daughter of Samuel and Viola (LaPierre) DeSilvio of Littleton. She grew up in Littleton and was a graduate of Littleton High School, Class of 1962. Linda then graduated from Regis College in Weston with a Bachelors Degree in English. She moved to El Segundo, California where she taught at the high school level. Linda returned to the Littleton area and worked as a Publishing Director for PennWell Publishing Company for over 30 years. Most recently she owned and operated the Generous Heart gift shop in Groton.
Mrs. Farnsworth was a devoted member of St. Anne’s Church in Littleton where she was a lector, Treasurer of St. Anne’s Sodality and a member of the Church Council.
She loved to read, garden and spend time with her grandchildren. Linda always spread warmth, wisdom and kindness and faced her illness with enormous courage, dignity and grace.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband Thomas Farnsworth of Shirley, former husband James Wright and his wife, Patti of Chandler, Arizona, a Son Brian and his wife Merlilee Wright of Littleton, 2 Stepchildren Tara Farnsworth of Windham, NH and Brent Farnsworth of Phoenix, Arizona, 2 Sisters Vilena and her husband Gilbert Friberg of Littleton and Sandra and her husband Ron Hinckley of Littleton. She is the Grandmother of Lucas T. Wright and Rory Gates. She is predeceased by her nephew Craig Hinckley and is survived by many nieces, nephews and beloved relatives.
Funeral will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. Littleton on Tuesday April 6 at 9 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne’s Church, 75 King Street, Littleton at 10 a.m. Visiting Hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Burial at Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

David (Dave) J. Dakin
David (Dave) J. Dakin, 71, of Ayer, MA and long time resident of Harvard, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on Monday, March 15, 2010 after a courageous battle withcancer.
Dave was born on June 28, 1938 in Stoneham, MA, the son of the late Norman and Julia (Joy) Dakin. He was a graduate of Arlington High School, attended the University of Maine (Orono) and received an Associates Degree from Fisher Junior College. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962 and thereafter commenced a 33 year career with the Algonquin Gas Transmission Company where, as an Engineering Project Leader, he was responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of natural gas transmission pipelines across the north-east United States.
Dave was a devoted member of his community, while living in Woburn, MA he was a member and President of the Woburn Jaycees and was elected to the Jaycee Senate. After moving his family to Harvard, MA in 1972, he was an active member of the Ayer Rotary Club, the Harvard Snowmobile Club, and the Harvard Garrison. He coached softball and was significantly involved in the Boy Scouts where he mentored numerous Eagle Scouts in Harvard and many other communities. In 1974, he joined the Caleb Butler Masonic Lodge. A dedicated Mason, like his father and brother, he twice served as Master of his lodge (1982 and 1992) and held many other offices in the lodge. He established and was devoted to the Ayer Masonic Association’s Widows Program, and in 2009 he was awarded the Joseph Warren Service Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts for Community, Charity, and Lodge Service.
Dave was a craftsman and devoted father, dedicated to improving the world, whether by building pipelines, restoring old buildings, building new ones or supporting numerous community activities. He could fix most anything and loved cars, in his youth and through-out his years he took pleasure in working on and restoring many vehicles. In his “retirement” he could often be found performing small construction projects and home repairs for friends and family. Throughout his life, and until the very end, he was surrounded by his friends and family which provided him much joy and comfort. Dave was particularly grateful to the members of his lodge who provided him fraternity during his illness as well as numerous life-long friends who provided great joy in his life.
Dave is survived by his cherished wife of 50 years Nancy (Lopez) Dakin, as well as five children Stephen Dakin of Harvard, MA; Helene Dakin and her partner Tara Howe of Brockton, MA; David Dakin and his wife Eve (Russell) Dakin of Leominster, MA; Julie (Dakin) McLeish and her husband Dominic (Tony) McLeish of Dedham, MA and Michael Dakin and his wife Anne Maka of Dubai, UAE. He was also the proud grandfather of and is survived by five grandchildren, Zachary Dakin, Madelyn and Kathryn McLeish and Lucia and Olivia Dakin. He is also survived by his bother Norman Dakin and his wife Judy (Hughes) Dakin of Addison, ME, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and beloved relatives.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 19 from 3 to 7 PM at Caleb Butler Masonic Lodge, 11 Scully Road, Ayer, MA. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at St Theresa’s Catholic Church in Harvard, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Ayer Masonic Association Widows Fund, P.O. Box 330, Ayer, MA 01432, Nashoba Nursing Service and Hospice, 2 Shaker Road, Suite D225, Shirley, MA 04164, Holy Trinity Parish Building Fund, P.O. Allan A. Ludwig
Allan A. Ludwig of Brookline Street, Pepperell, died on March 27 at Emerson Hospital in Concord. He was born on October 26 1928, son of the late Albert and Fannie (Sawyer) Ludwig of Chelmsford. He was 81 years of age. He attended the Chelmsford School System and graduated from Atlantic Air Academy in Rye Beach, NH where he played in all major sports. Al also served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
His entire career was spent in the construction business. He built homes in the Greater Lowell aria and spent many years at San-Vel Concrete Corp as a Superintendents. Mr. Ludwig retired from Colonial Gas Co. while working in the Maintenance Department Office. He spent three years on Chelmsford Planning Board serving one year as chairman. He was also a member of the Chelmsford Fire Department, Box 7, a volunteer group.
Surviving him are his wife Susanne (Powers) (Harris) Ludwig of Pepperell, A daughter Cheryl Ludwig, a son Glenn Ludwig, a nephew Phillip Ludwig of Kennebunk, ME, 2 stepdaughters An nVisiting hours will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 45 School Street, Groton on Thursday 9-11 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Lowell cemetery in Lowell.

Gladys (Hulbert) Upson
Gladys (Hulbert) Upson of Littleton died in Branford, CT on April 26, 2014 at the age of 99. She was born December 31, 1914 in Mobile, Alabama, daughter of the late Maurice and Katherine (Martin) Hulbert and was the wife of the late Neville U. Upson who died in 2002.
She married Neville on October 15, 1941 and they traveled the world through both the military and retirement where they lived in Japan and Germany. She was a Registered Nurse by profession graduating from the Mather School of Nursing, New Orleans, Louisiana, with The Academic Prize.
Gladys was a stay at home mother while rearing her two daughters. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Littleton for more than 58 years, enjoyed playing bridge, was a great cook and a compassionate friend and neighbor. She was involved in the community and especially with the Littleton Lyceum. She also played the piano, was a soprano and enjoyed singing with her husband who was a baritone. She possessed a fighting spirit in adversity and also showed kindness and love.
Mrs. Upson is survived by two daughters, Linda Upson Rasmussen and her husband Dr. Roger Rasmussen of Los Angeles, CA, and Patricia King and her husband The Reverend Stoddon King of Orange, CT. She has three grandchildren Paul Rasmussen, Dr, Carolyn Rasmussen and her husband Dr. Michael McCarthy, and Stuart King and a great grandchild Desmond McCarthy.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at 11 am.
The family requests no flowers, but any memorial contributions may be made in Gladys name to First Baptist Church, Littleton, MA 01460 or The Womens Memorial, Dept. 560, Washington, DC 20042-0560.

Thelma Pattee
October 13, 1921 - April 28, 2014
Thelma L. Pattee, 92. Of Littleton, formerly of Vermont passed away Monday April 28, 2014. She was the wife of late Howard Pattee and the mother of the late Timothy Pattee who passed in 1985. . She is survived by her sister Alberta Makarewicz of East Hampton, MA, her four granddaughters Jennifer L. Pattee of Leominster, Heather Pattee of Manchester, CT. Gretchen Faford of Westminster and Katrina Klee of Baldwinville, Also there is 9 great Grandchildren and 8 great- great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a great niece Sara Weeks and husband Charlie of Acton, a great nephew Jeff Cress and wife Diana of Charlton, A great-great niece Vanessa Barisano of Leominster and niece Lara Laurie of St. Albans, VT, She deeply touched all she came in contact with.

December 22, 1931 - May 3, 2014
Constance (Burk) Trachim, died on May 3, 2014 at Apple Valley Center in Ayer, MA, she as born in Boston, MA on December 22, 1931 daughter of the late Harry and Mildred (Peachey) Burk and was the wife of the late Walter Trachim, Her survivors include 2 sons, Jay Trachim of Nashua, NH, Walter Trachim, of Goffstown, NH, 2 daughters Gail Norton of Nashua, NH, Claudia Dellovo of Bedford, a foster brother Robert McCann, of Raymond, NH, 11 grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. Littleton, MA on Wednesday May 7 from 10- 11 with a Funeral Service at 11 am. Burial at Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton.
