Harry M. Thompson Jr., 91, of Ashby
ASHBY: Harry M. Thompson Jr., 91, of 1058 Foster Road, died Monday, September 08, 2008 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was the husband of Ruth Thompson who died in 1980.
Mr. Thompson was born in Pittsburg, PA. October 4 1916, a son of Harry M. and Mary (Jones) Thompson Sr., and resided Pennsylvania and Florida before moving here 18 years ago. He was a graduate of Langley High School, Pittsburg, PA.
For over 30 years Mr. Thompson worked as a crane operator at the J & L Steel Company in Pittsburg, PA before retiring in 1972. Following his retirement, he moved to Florida where he worked as a housepainter.
He is survived by a son; Dan Thompson of Venice, Florida, two daughters, Elaine M. Tucker with who he resided in Ashby and Sharon Armes of Arlington, VA. He leaves four grandchildren, David Tucker, Serina Thompson, Amber Teitgen, Heather Leahey, seven great grandchildren; Sabrina Leahey, Abigail Leahey, Hannah Tucker, Sam Tucker, Grace Tucker, Hailey Mae Thompson and James Teitgen.
Mr. Thompson was an avid reader and through the years had become a scholar of the Bible. He built and flew model airplanes and was a member of the Pittsburg Based Airplane Club. He was a member and graduate of the Ambassador College Spokesman Club and was an accomplished marathon walker having walked over 20 miles a day through his 70's.
A funeral service will be held 11AM Friday, September 12th at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main Street, (Rte 119) Townsend Center. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Ashby.
A visitation period will be Friday from 10AM until the time of the service.

Masako S. (Sukae) Gordon, 81, of Shirley
Shirley- Masako S. (Sukae) Gordon, 81, of 5 Pamela Drive died September 10 at her residence.
Mrs. Gordon was born in Yokohama, Japan on March 20, 1927 a daughter of Rin No and Waka (Suenaga) Sukae and has resided in Shirley for the past 35 years.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by her former husband; John F. Gordon of Shirley.
Mrs. Gordon was the mother of the late James S. Gordon who died in 1975.
Mrs. Gordon was employed for 15 years at the former Digital Computer Company in Westminster as a quality control inspector.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Shirley.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, September 15 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 14 Phoenix Street, Shirley. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours are from 3-5 Sunday, September 14 at the T. J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road (Rt.2A) Ayer.

Jennie Bourgeois, 98, formerly of Fitchburg
FITCHBURG: Jennie (Robichaud) Bourgeois, 98, formerly of 24 Amiott Street, died Saturday, September 13th at the Life Care Center of Leominster.
She was the wife of Andrew Bourgeois who died in 1972.
Mrs. Bourgeois was born in Madison, Maine, July 13, 1910, a daughter of Philip and Alvina (Richard) Robichaud and resided in Fitchburg for most of her life.
She attended St. Joseph Church in Fitchburg.
She is survived by a brother, H. Joseph Robichaud of West Boylston, three sisters; Terry Heaney of Westminster, Elsie M. Collette of West Boylston and Lena Frontin of Ashburnham. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Francis Robichaud, Guy Robichaud, Thomas Robichaud, Nora Lucia, and Phyllis Tarbell.
A memorial Mass will be 9 AM Saturday September 20th at St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg.
There are no calling hours.

Tony J. Silva, 43, of Townsend
TOWNSEND: Tony J. Silva, 43, of 445 Main Street, died Saturday, September 13th from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident in Sterling earlier that day.
Tony was born in Worcester, November 18, 1964, the son of Lt. Col. Manuel J. and Barbara A. (Coffey) Silva and grew up in Pepperell. He has resided in Townsend for the past 13 years.
Besides his parents of Pepperell, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Robin M. (Dromgoole) Silva, his daughter; Kaitlyn M. Silva of Townsend, his son; Daniel J. Silva also of Townsend, two sisters; Deborah M. Ouellette of Lincoln, NH, Sharon M. Hunt of Marietta, Georgia, as well as his father in law and mother in law; Richard P. and Janice L. (Brown) Fiorentino of Townsend. He also leaves nieces and nephews.
For the past 13 years Tony worked as manager of Hobart Village and other properties that he and his family owned in the area.
Tony was a a 1982 graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend and in 1986 received his bachelor's degree in International Relations from Boston University.
Boy Scouts and the scouting experience played a large part in Tony's life. He became involved in scouting with Troop # 26 in Pepperell and ultimately attained the level of Eagle Scout.
Following his graduation from college, he remained active in scouting and for 10 years worked as a Scout Executive at the Lancaster, Massachusetts based Nashua Valley Council Headquarters of the Boy Scouts of America.
Most recently, he and his son, Daniel, have been active members of the Townsend Boy Scout Troop # 81.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, skiiing and hiking and traveling with his family. On three occasions he ran the Boston Marathon and the Montreal Marathon once. He was a member of the Townsend Business Association. He had attended St. Joseph's Church in Pepperell and St. John's Church, Townsend
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Church, 1 School Street, Townsend. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Townsend.

Joseph J. Lisio, Sr., 67, of Townsend
TOWNSEND : Joseph J. Lisio, Sr., 67, of 28 Ash Street, died Sunday, September 14th at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, after an illness.
Mr. Lisio was born in Arlington, April 12, 1941, a son of John Lisio and Mary (D'Errico) Christiansen and grew up in Arlington. He was a graduate of Arlington High School where he played both hockey and baseball. In 1952 he was recognized as the Jimmy Fund's " Little Leaguer of the Year" by the then Boston Braves baseball organization.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Susan M. (Ingegneri) Lisio, five children; Michele Lisio and her husband James O'Halloran of Arlington, Rhonda Lisio and her husband Michael Richard of Lunenburg, Joseph J. Lisio, Jr. and his wife Martha of New Ipswich, NH, Louise Lisio of Townsend and Leanne Jackson and her husband Douglas of Townsend. He leaves a brother David Christiansen of Pepperell, a sister; Louise Price of Woburn, five grandchildren, Sydney Jackson, Chad Jackson, George Lisio, Joseph Lisio and Rachael Richard.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother; John Lisio and his stepfather; Kurt Christiansen both of Woburn.
Joe was an avid Boston Sports fan and enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Bruins and New England Patriots. Locally, he coached hockey at the Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School in Fitchburg as well as the PAT Hockey program.
For many years he coached and had been active in the Townsend Little League Program His favorite pastime, however, was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
For the past 20 years, Joe owned and operated Patriot Barber Shop in Pepperell. Prior to that he worked as a salesperson in the Burlington Sears Automotive Department.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Wednesday, September 17th at St. John's Church, 1 School Street, Townsend. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.

Francis M. Woelfel, 81, of Ayer
AYER: Francis M. Woelfel, Jr., 81, of 18 Pond Street, died Thursday, May 28th at the Apple Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Ayer.
His wife of 54 years, Elsbeth 'Elsie' (Ranft) Woelfel, died in July of last year.
Mr. Woelfel was born in South Boston, August 16, 1927 a son of Francis M. and Rose (Towle) Woelfel and has resided in Ayer for 40 years.
He is survived by a son, Michael P. Woelfel of Pepperell; two daughters; Elke I. Shepard of Ayer, Rosemary A. Pecukonis of Pepperell; a brother, John Woelfel of Whitman, three sisters, Patricia Woelfel of Concord, NH, Ann Faherty-Scheles of Natick, Judi Donahoe of Randolph; seven grandchildren, Christy Shepard, Nicholas Pecukonis, Lauren Pecukonis, Timothy Woelfel, Andrew Pecukonis, Sarah Woelfel, and Julie Pecukonis. He also leaves a great grandson; Jake Driscoll.
For over 24 years Mr. Woelfel served his country in the United States Army having served during WW II, Korean and Vietnam eras. He retired in 1969 at the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his retirement from the armed forces, Mr. Woelfel worked and an electronics tester for 16 years at Warren Communications in Littleton, retiring in 1980.
He was a life member of the Ayer Gun & Sportsman's Club where he was instrumental in many of the charitable programs there including volunteering his time as a caller in the bingo program, assisting in the organizing of cookouts for the Disabled American Veterans as well as children with special needs. He was a life member of the Ayer American Legion Post. Frank was active in the Ayer Boy Scout Troop # 2 and served as their treasure for many years. Several years ago he was publicly recognized for his many years of service to the troop.
A funeral service will be held 4 PM Sunday, May 31st at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte 2A) Ayer. A visitation period will be Sunday from 2 PM until the time of the service. Please see www.andersonfuneral.com for additional information.

Winifred "Wini" Blair
Winifred (Williams) 'Wini' Blair of Kissimmee, Fla. and formerly of Nantucket, died on Dec. 17, 2003 at Celebratier Hospital in Kissimmee. She was 81.
Wini was born on March 16, 1922 in Framingham, Mass., the daughter of Thomas and Winifred Williams who lived at 21 Federal Street, Nantucket. She attended school in Nantucket and graduated from Nantucket High School with the Class of 1939.
Wini was a retired physical therapist, a veteran of the Army in World War II, a member of Makinson-Carson Post 10 American Legion, life member of American Physical Therapist AAPR, Good Samaritan Red Hots Club, and a graduate of Northeastern University's Bouve College. Survivors include a son, Michael Thomas Werry of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters Gail W. Lawhorn of Kissimmee and Pam Ann Carmen of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 20 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Kissimmee, where she was a member.
Some of her ashes will be spread at Arlington National cemetery and some on the outgoing tide at Brant Point.

Arthur Edward Dyson
Arthur Edward Dyson died on Feb. 15, 2004 at the Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in West Los Angeles, Calif., after a long illness. He was 68.
He was born to Arthur and Mary Dyson on Nov. 6, 1935 in Harlem, N.Y. He was raised by his grandmother Ella on Nantucket and showed early signs of success by excelling in academics, sports and music.
Arts military career took shape once he joined the Air Force in 1955 as an aircraft mechanic. He quickly moved up in ranks to staff sergeant until his honorable discharge in 1964.
After serving his country, Art dabbled in sales before becoming a cosmetologist. It was his drive to control his own destiny that propelled him to great heights in the hair industry. Art competed in prestigious competitions that took him across the world. Throughout Arts early career he entered competitions to be judged, but his talent ultimately landed him the role as a judge and later an industry icon.
Art converted to Christianity in the late 1980s. He attended Grace Community Church and earned an associate's degree in theology at Carolina University. He had a passion for studying the Bible and debating controversial issues.
In the course of his life, Art was married three times to Florence Armstrong, Betty Miles and Paula Shelton, all of Los Angeles, Calif. He is also survived by 10 children: Arthur Dyson-Gresham, Sheri Jean Dyson, Teri Denise Dyson, Donna Marie Dyson, Arthur Edward Dyson Jr., Duane Schiele, Billie Edward Dyson, Lisa Marie Dyson, Nicole Talia Shelton Dyson and Maryella Marie Shelton Dyson, all of Los Angeles; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Kevin Dyson of Los Angeles; his sisters Betty, Bella and Rosie, all of Los Angeles; and his cousins Ruth, Frank and Bette Spriggs of Nantucket. He was predeceased by his sister Audrey Harris.
