Patricia Snaddon Hines

November 1, 1934 - June 2, 2013
Resided in Lynn, MA

Patricia "Pat" (Snaddon) Hines, age 78, of Lynn, died Sunday, June 2, 2013, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Archie and Eileen M. (Tremblay) Snaddon. Born and raised in Lynn, Pat was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1952. She then went on to graduate from the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1955. She was a Registered Nurse and her career spanned more than 50 years. She started her career as the cruise ship nurse from New York to South America on the Grace Lines. She worked for Lynn and Union Hospitals for over 45 years, most of those years as a supervisor. Pat also worked as a school nurse for the Lynn and Peabody School Departments.

She was a loyal communicant of St. Pius V Church in Lynn, a former Lynn English High School Booster, a former member of the Navy League in Boston, secretary of the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association for thirty years, where she also helped to run the children's Christmas party, and a member of St. Pius Social Committee. Her grandchildren were the greatest delight of her life. Her interests were many, including watercolor painting, cooking, and traveling.

Pat is survived by her three children, Maura Hines Clouser and her husband James of Lynn with whom she resided, Thomas P. Hines and his wife Tracie of Lynn and David J. Hines and his wife Kathleen of Lynn, and her six grandchildren, John, Catherine, Audrey, Teagan and Brody Hines, and Tim Clouser and his wife Natalie

Her funeral will be held from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN & RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean Street, (Rt1A) Lynn on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 9:30AM, followed by a funeral mass in St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 10:30AM. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2PM – 7PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be private. Rose Elena (Festa) O'Meara

July 5, 1917 - June 3, 2013
Resided in Lynn, MA

Mrs. Rose Elena (Festa) O' Meara, age 95, of Lynn, died on Monday June 3, 2013, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Cornelius O'Meara.

A lifelong resident of Lynn, Rose was the daughter of the late Louis and Augustina Festa. She attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School.

Rose had worked at the former Security National Bank in West Lynn, for many years.

She was a longtime Communicant of Sacred Heart Parish in Lynn. Rose enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family. In her retirement years Rose had done disaster relief work for FEMA; travelling to Guam, Hawaii, St. Croix, and several other US destinations.

She is survived by a daughter Linda Abernathy and her husband Walter, of Topsfield, a son Robert O'Meara and his wife Kit, of Bedford, NH, and two grandchildren Lauren M. Fitzgerald and her husband Brian, of Stoneham and Ryan O'Meara, of Bedford, NH. She was also the sister of the late William and Anthony Festa.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:30am in Sacred Heart Church, Lynn. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart School Scholarship Fund 581 Boston St. Lynn, MA 01905. Douglas Finlay Allen

May 7, 1926 - May 22, 2013
Resided in Salem, MA

Douglas Finlay Allen, of Salem, formerly of Swampscott, passed away after a short illness on May 22, 2013. He was born in Boston on May 7, 1926, son of Clarence E. Allen and Elizabeth L. Allen. He was also the son of Katherine B. Allen. He attended Camp Chewonki of which his father was the founder, Rivers School and graduated from, Deerfield Academy'43, Harvard, AB'47, Harvard Business School'49, and received an ALM Degree'89, also from Harvard. He served as a lieutenant (jg) in the Navy in the Pacific.

Doug was for many years a partner of Farquhar & Black in Lynn and a Director of the Eastern Bank. He served as President of the Board of Trustees of Lynn Hospital, as well as President of the Board of Trustees of Tower School in Marblehead. He received the Silver Beaver Award, the highest Boy Scout Council Award. His greatest public service commitment was to the Town of Swampscott, which he served in several capacities, as head of the Finance Committee, Town Moderator, and Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, serving all together for 47 years. As a Justice of the Peace, he performed many marriage ceremonies. He was an avid fly fisherman and accomplished gardener.

He was a long standing member of the Whiting Club of Swampscott and a member of Rotary Club with a perfect 50 year attendance record. He was also a member of the R.O.M.E.O.S.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Louise Breed Allen; by their children Doug Jr., Pitch (Richardson) and Tapley Sheresky, daughter in law Lisa Fulweiler Allen, and son in law Steven Sheresky; and his grandchildren, Douglas F. Allen III, Spencer P. Allen, Kenneth T. Sheresky, and Lucy B. Sheresky. His brother John L. Allen predeceased him.

Funeral Services under the direction of the Solimine Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home 67 Ocean St. (RTE1A0, Lynn are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Chewonki Foundation, 485 Chewonki Neck Road, Wiscasset, Maine 04578.

William F. "Bill" Curtis

October 15, 1935 - May 23, 2013
Resided in Lynn, MA

William F. "Bill" Curtis, age 77, of Lynn, died on Thursday May 23, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, where he had been supported by his loving family.

William was born in Lynn, MA. On October 15, 1935, the son of the late Alfred and Ruth (Darling) Curtis. He attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn Trade High School.

Prior to his retirement in 2006, Bill had been a machinist at the General Electric Co., Riverworks Plant in Lynn for 44 years.

He was a Past Master of Mount Carmel Masonic Lodge, of Lynn. He was also a member of Chapter Lodge and was a Past Grand Warden of Commandery. He was also a Past Commander of Olivet Commandery #36 in Lynn.

He enjoyed playing golf with his brother, camping out west, and vegetable gardening in Raymond, NH.

Bill is survived by his brother Richard Curtis, of Dover, MA, as well as Richard's family; his nephew Rick Curtis, of Sandestin, Florida, his niece Lori Krusell and her husband Eric, and their children Paul, Carina, and Ian, of Dover, MA, his niece Lisa Wilson and her husband Steve, and their children Sean and Caroline, of Perth, Australia, his cousins Phyllis (Darling) Brewster and her husband Frank, and their daughter Melissa and her husband Joe, and their children Madyson and Eva, and Phillip Brewster and his wife Susan and their children Lily and Evan, as well as his cousin Lyman Doane and his wife JoAnn.

His Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10am from the SOLIMINE LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME 426 BROADWAY (RTE129), LYNN. Burial will be in Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield at 11am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hour's Tuesday form 4pm-8pm. A Masonic Service will be held on Tuesday at 7pm in the Funeral Home.

Evgenia (Nikolopoulos) Dimitrakopoulos

November 13, 1927 - May 22, 2013
Resided in Lynn, MA

Evgenia (Nikolopoulos) Dimitrakopoulos, age 85, of Lynn, died Wednesday May 22, 2013, in a local nursing home, with her family by her side, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Dimitrios Dimitrakopoulos, and the daughter of the late Nicholas and Eleni (Papagiorgakopoulos) Nikolopouilos. Born in Kastorion, Sparti, Greece, she moved to the United States in 1967 and lived in Lynn most of her life. She was educated in Greece, and was a homemaker to her family as well as a production worker at Old Neighborhood Foods in Lynn for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, sewing and taking care of her family. Evgenia was an active member of St George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn and was active with the Ladies Society.

She is survived her three children, Arthur Dimitrakopoulos and his wife Teddy of West Peabody, Christina Gomatos and her husband Dimitrios of Lynn and Nicholas Dimitrakopoulos and his wife Sofia of Lynn, six grandchildren Olga & George Gomatos, Dimitrios & Christopher Dimitrakopoulos, and Dimitri & Gia Dimitrakopoulos. She also leaves her two brothers, George Nikolopoulos and his wife Gale of Salem and Chris Nikolopoulos and his wife Eleni of Swampscott, sister-in-law Eleni Nikolopoulos, several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Chrisostomos and Elias Nikolopoulos.

Her funeral will be held in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 54 South Common St. Lynn on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 9:00 AM followed by services at 10:00AM. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours will be held in the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN & RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St. (Rt1A) Lynn on Tuesday from 4-8PM. Somkid (Chaiyarat) Phrasayavong

August 14, 1964 - May 10, 2013
Resided in Lynn, MA

Somkid (Chaiyarat) Phrasayavong, age 48, of Lynn, died on Friday, May 10, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. She was the wife of Phanxay "Chan" Phrasayavong with whom she shared over 16 years of marriage.

Born in Yasothon, Thailand in 1964, she was the daughter of the late Boun and Yhong Chaiyarat. She was raised and educated in Thailand and came to the United States in October of 1997. She has worked as an assembler at 2492 Amphenal PCD in Beverly since June 13, 2000. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her son and husband.

In addition to her husband Chan, Somkid is survived by her son Timothy Phrasayavong of Lynn; her siblings Somjit Chaiwan, Mail, Samanmith, Nid, Somlist, Samone and Gayson Chaiyarat all of Thailand; her aunt and uncle Mali and Don Liberge of Lynn and several other close family and friends.

Her Funeral will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 9 AM in the SOLIMINE LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 BROADWAY (RT 129), LYNN followed by cremation at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be Thursday 4-8 PM.

Margaret Seward Ames

October 14, 1934 - May 18, 2013
Resided in Peabody, MA

Margaret R. (Seward) Ames, age 78, of Lynn, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, in a local nursing home, after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Gertrude (Powers) Seward. Born and raised in Lynn. Margaret lived most of her life in Lynn before moving to Peabody in 2002. A graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1953, she also attended Burdett Junior College and Marion Court. She worked as a bookkeeper for Premier Shoe Goods for fifteen years and later in human resources for twenty six years at Union Hospital until her retirement in 2000. She was a volunteer at Union Hospital, an active communicant of Sacred Heart Parish where she was involved in CCD, CYO, the parish council and Bingo. She was also active with St. Mary's High School, Pop Warner where she was a coach and cheerleading coach and played for the Caggiano softball and baseball teams. She was a lifelong Red sox fan and a lunch aid at the Drewicz School.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Lisa Sylvester and her husband Charlie of Peabody, three grandchildren, Thomas, Daniel and Bethany, her sister Frances Breueu and her husband Robert of Duxbury and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Kay Wheeler, Theresa Poither, Mary Legault and Pat Seward.

Her funeral will be held in the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN & RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt129) Lynn on Thursday at 11AM. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8PM. Kurt Kelly

WESTFORD – Kurt D. Kelly, 32, a resident of Westford and former Chelmsford resident died Friday, September 21st from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was the beloved husband of Amy E. (Zimmerman) Kelly, with whom he would have celebrated his third wedding anniversary in October.

He was born in Cambridge on June 1, 1980, and was a son of Paul Kelly and Anita (Buchaniec) Kelly of Chelmsford. He received his education in Chelmsford schools and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School, class of 1998. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT, class of 2004.

Kurt worked alongside his father and brothers as the financial officer for the family business, Specialized Plating, Inc. in Haverhill.

In his free time he enjoyed watching and playing sports, especially hockey, which he played in a local men’s league with his father and brothers.

Time spent with his family was what Kurt treasured most in life. He was a loving and devoted father, husband, son, brother, and uncle. He was also a very loyal friend who always could be counted on.

In addition to his wife and parents, Kurt is survived by the pride and joy of his life, his four month old son Brady. He is also survived by his three brothers, with whom he had a special bond, Eric Kelly and his wife Leigh of Northborough, Dean Kelly and his wife Andrea of Oakland, CA, and Brad Kelly and his wife Billie of Chelmsford; his nieces and nephews, Grace, Olivia, Kate, Elizabeth, Finn, Claire, Maddie, Jack, Leo, and Ella; his mother-in-law, Jane Smith of Bridgewater; many close friends; and his faithful black lab Henry.

Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Wednesday from 4 until 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 o’clock at St. Irene Parish, 181 East Street, Carlisle. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment in Heart Pond Cemetery, Chelmsford.

John G. Reddy, Jr.

September 24, 1933 - May 20, 2013
Resided in Lynn, MA

Mr. John G. Reddy, Jr. 79 years of Lynn died Monday, May 20, 2013 at the home of his son and surrounded by his family. He was born in Lynn, the son of the late John G. and Helen Marie( McCarthy) Reddy. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. He was a graduate of North Shore Community College. He was a resident of Lynn all of his life with the exception of time he served in the Air Force.

He was an Air Force Veteran of 22 years and served as a Technical Sergeant in the Korean and Viet Nam Wars. He served a s a communication s specialist. While serving in the Air Force he was also involved with entertaining troops as a Master of Ceremonies, loved to sing and awarded "Tops in Blue". He was past President of the Lynn Veterans Council, co-founder of Vietnam Veterans of Greater Lynn, past President of the Vietnam Veterans of Massachusetts, Air Force Sergeants Association, American Legion, AmVets, Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign War, Franco-American War Veterans and the PLAV.

After serving in the Air Force, John inspected nursing homes for the Department of Veterans Services. Prior to this he served as a manager in a shelter for veterans, he was a telecommunications manager at Hanscom Air Force Base, and the Chief of Radio Operations at Fort Devens.

Mr. Reddy is survived by his sons, Steven E. Reddy and his wife Tamara of Nashua NH, John G. Reddy III and his wife Teresa of North Reading, Jason C. Reddy of Lynn, Jeremy W. Reddy and his wife Karen of Moncton, New Brunswick, and Jeffrey F. Reddy and his wife Jennifer of Methuen, his daughters Susan Thibodeau and her husband James of Kitchener, Ontario and Allison McConnell of Las Vegas NV. He leaves 23 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is the brother of Thomas Reddy of Lynn, James Reddy of Lynn, Nancy Grimmer of Beverly, and the late June MacEachern, Margaret Foster and Laura MacDonald. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He is the former husband of Joyce M. Newman and Charlotte Danserau.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 9:30 AM from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME. 426 Broadway (Rte 129) Lynn followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Lynn at 10:30 AM Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Mary J. (Kneen) Lynch

April 19, 1942 - May 19, 2013
Resided in Bernardston, MA

Mary J. (Kneen) Lynch, age 71, of Bernardston, formerly of Lynn, died unexpectedly at her home on May 19. Born in Burlington, VT, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence K. and Hazel A. (Melbourne) Kneen. She was raised in Burlington, VT, and lived in Lynn for many years before moving to Bernardston after her retirement.

A bookkeeper, Mary retired from the Lynn Police Department. She was always active in her local community, and spent time volunteering to help the elderly. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and making stained glass. An independent woman, she also loved to travel.

She is survived by three sons; John F. Lynch and his wife Lisa, Christopher L. Lynch and his wife Diane, and Michael T. Lynch, all of Lynn; one daughter; Mary Jo of Spring Grove, PA; 2 brothers; John B. Kneen and William G. Kneen; 3 sisters; Elizabeth Huard, Ann Twohig and Teresa Thibodeau; as well as 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her dog, Buddy. She was the sister of the late Lawrence K. Kneen, Jr. and former wife of the late John F. Lynch, III.

Her memorial visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 3-7PM in the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St. (Rt 1A), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Virginia Victoria (Gerardi) White

May 5, 1921 - May 23, 2013
Resided in Wenham formerly of Lynn, MA

Virginia Victoria (Gerardi) White, age 92, of Wenham and formerly of Lynn, died on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at North Shore Medical Center, Union Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Eugene D. White, Sr.. Born in Lynn in 1921, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Clelia (Benedetti) Gerardi. She was educated in Lynn Public Schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, class of 1939. She lived in Lynn for over 84 years and has lived in Wenham for the past 8 years.

Virginia worked at the General Electric in the 1940's where she met her future husband Eugene. The couple was married on April 8, 1951 and after her children were grown, she worked at the Wyoma Card Center with her friend Olga Betopoulos for many years. She was a communicant of St. Pius V Church and a member of the St. Pius V Ladies Sodality. She married at Holy Family Church, her childhood parish. She enjoyed cooking and was famous for her Italian Pizelle cookies. She loved to sew, enjoyed walks, word-search books and in her later years watching the daily Mass and Rosary on Catholic TV. Virginia especially enjoyed being with her family, most especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to travel and made trips to Italy and Ireland with her granddaughters.

Virginia is survived by her son Eugene D. White, Jr. and his wife Frances (Matthews) White of Lynn; her daughter Claire White of Wenham; her sister Claire Gerardi of Lynnfield; her 2 granddaughters Elizabeth Bates and Kathleen Melanson and her husband Brian all of Lynn; her great granddaughters Hannah, Kayleigh and Meaghan Bates; her great grandson Matthew Melanson; several cousins, nieces, nephews; and members of the Matthews family who she considered family. In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia was predeceased by her son Francis White; her brothers Francis and Alfred Gerardi and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Daniel and Agnes (Daly) White.

Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:30AM from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 10:30AM. Frances A (Graciale) Elswick

May 24, 1957 - May 23, 2013
Resided in Lynn, MA

Frances A. (Graciale) Elswick, age 55, of Lynn, died on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Massachusetts General Hospital with family by her side, after a brief battle with Leukemia. Born in Lynn in 1957, she was the daughter of Joyce (Camp) Graciale and the late Joseph Graciale. Frances attended Lynn schools and was a resident of Lynn all of her life.

Frances loved working out, kickboxing, Tae Bo, jogging, and bike riding. She especially liked working out with Master Lou Hopkins of East Coast Karate Academy. She was known as TiTi by all the kids. Frances helped her good friend Lee Barrett at Barrett's Bullpen for years. She loved Lee like a brother. She had a cleaning business and had developed a great friendship with all of her clients. Frances was a member of Holy Family Church in Lynn.

In addition to her mother Joyce Graciale, Frances is survived by her husband Dana Elswick of Maine; her daughter Jeanine Elswick and her boyfriend Michael Lugo of Lynn, her son Andy Elswick and his wife Diana Irizarry of Lynn, her stepdaughter Brandy Sequeira and her husband Maurice of Lynn; her 4 grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren Angelik Elswick who was like a daughter to her Anthony Elswick, Tianna Melendez, Marissa Thomas and great grandchild Josiah Morales; her brothers Adolph Graciale and his wife Amy of Nahant, Anthony Graciale, Donald Graciale and Joey Graciale all of Lynn; her sisters Mary Spinny of Lynn, Louise Owens and her husband Jim of Lynn, Jeanine Graciale of Danvers, MA, Hazel Borassa of NH and Joyce Guovia and husband Dave of Dighton, MA.

Frances was predeceased by her father Joseph Graciale, brother Leslie Graciale, and stepdaughter Wendy Elswick.

Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 9 AM from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN & RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Family Church, Lynn at 10 AM. Cremation will follow at Harmony Grove Crematory, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
