David Cunha

WESTFORD - David J. Cunha, 63, a well known local businessman and resident of Westford, beloved father and papa, died Sunday, June 20th, following a long, courageous battle with leukemia at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

He was born in Lowell on March 14, 1947, and he was a son of the late William F. Cunha and Cecile A. (Cantin) Cunha. He received his education in Lowell schools.

David served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

A very successful entrepreneur, he was part owner of the former Old Oaken Bucket in Westford and owner of Country Club USA and Reflections Lounge, both in Chelmsford.

In his free time David enjoyed playing pool and tending to his gardens and koi ponds. He was also an avid Boston sports fan.

He is survived and deeply missed by his six daughters, Nadine Morin and her husband Richard of Tyngsboro, Amy McClure and her husband Robert of Chelmsford, Robin Cunha and her fiance' James Kennedy of Nashua, NH, Maria King and her husband Chris of Chelmsford, Monica Cunha and her fiance' Derek Schmitke of Chelmsford, and Nadia Cunha of Westford; his two loving and caring former spouses, Dolores Cunha of Chelmsford and Naima Cunha of Nashua, NH; five cherished grandchildren, Arthur Voutselas, Kayla Ball, Dylan McClure, Kyle King, and Sarina Schmitke; nine brothers and sisters; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

David's family would like to thank all the staff at MGH and Spaulding Rehab for all their kindness, passion, and special care during the last two years.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 3 until 8PM at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9 o'clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.

David Meppelink

CHELMSFORD – David J. Meppelink, age 50, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Pamela M. (Walter) Meppelink to whom he was married for 27 years.

He was born in Norwalk, CT on September 28, 1963, and was the son of Rev. Harvey J. Meppelink of Worcester and the late Frances “Jean” (Hussey) Meppelink. He was a graduate of Lexington High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Evangel University in Springfield, MO and his master’s degree from University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

Dave was employed for many years as a software engineer, most recently at aPriori in Concord. He was an active member of Highrock Covenant Church in Arlington. In his free time Dave enjoyed fixing up used computers and donating them to non-profits. His gentle spirit, quick wit, and sense of humor will be missed.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his two adoring children, Amanda and Douglas Meppelink, both of Chelmsford; two sisters, Rev. Deborah Kerr of Worcester and Denise Larson and her husband Donald of West Boylston; and many nieces and nephews.

It being his request, there will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11am at Highrock Covenant Church, 735 Massachusetts Ave., Arlington, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of David Meppelink to the Cancer Center Fund at the MGH. Marjorie Gordenstein

NEWTON – Marjorie (Courtois) Gordenstein, 80, of Newton for the past 25 years and formerly of Worcester, passed away on April 16, 2013 following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Gordenstein.

She was born in Worcester on August 9, 1932 and was a daughter of the late George A. and Irene M. (Burke) Courtois.

Prior to her retirement, Marjorie was employed for over 30 years as an executive secretary for Raytheon Corporation. She was a wonderful cook and hostess, always making people feel welcome.

Marjorie is survived by her step-children; Lisa Solomon of Wayland, Beth Kroner of Newton, and David Gordenstein of Sudbury, 6 step-granddaughters, 1 step-grandson; and one step great-granddaughter. She also leaves two sisters; Eileen Sheldrick of NE, and Kathy Brough of Chelmsford. Marjorie was much loved by her many nieces and nephews; Michael, Mark, Marty, Debbie, Billy, Bobby, Susan, Michelle, Michael, Janet, Susan, Peg, Mary, Doug, Rob, Chris, Dana, Jeremy, Marge, Chuckie, and Emilie.

She was predeceased by her niece Maureen.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 9 to 10 am at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD followed by her Funeral Service at 10 o’clock.

Private interment in Sharon Memorial Park.

Dorothy Harrison

CHELMSFORD - Dorothy Marie “Dot” Harrison, 87, a longtime (47 years) resident of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her large, loving family, on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts. Dot was married for 61 years to the love of her life, the late, Colonel Francis X. Harrison who passed away in 2012.

Dorothy was born on April 15, 1927 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late William Cosmos and Anne Marie (Walsh) Syple. She was a graduate of Cambridge High School.

Dot and Fran “Colonel” enjoyed raising their family in the military (U.S. Army) for 23 years, which included numerous deployments and assignments both stateside and overseas. Fran and Dot, who moved to Chelmsford, MA from Ft. Knox, KY in 1968 to be closer to family, where Fran retired from active duty in 1970, after a final deployment to Vietnam. They continued to raise and educate their children in Chelmsford. Dorothy will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Dot and Fran were at the center of their children’s lives and the children the center of theirs. Dot’s life was full and rich as she lived and loved each day with her husband, Fran and her 8 children by her side. Together Dot and Fran cheered on their children and grand children at high school and college sporting events barely missing a game, very proudly attended every graduation and milestone, loved family gatherings at home, down the Cape and up at the Lake in NH and cherished their travels and adventures with their best friends, from the military, Pat and Edna Flores of Oregon. Dot also traveled extensively overseas with her family during her husband’s vast military career and has special memories of a family trip with many children and grandchildren to Ireland to visit Fran’s family homestead. Dot was an excellent cook, crossword puzzle whiz, and avid reader. She enjoyed bingo, following political news and was a fabulous, devoted and loving mother. Dorothy coached softball, was involved in her children’s scouting events, and loved camping trips with her young family and friends. She also loved her “girl trips” with her sisters to Foxwoods. Dot and Fran always modeled to their children the sacrifices made by military families, and raised their family with great emphasis on the values of faith, love of country, education, hard work, helping and loving one another, and family first.

Dorothy is survived by six children; Dennis Harrison and his wife, Mary, of Scituate, MA, MaryAnn Solis and Brian McGettrick of Tewksbury, MA, Ellen Finn and her husband, Dr. R. Thomas, Jr., of Laconia, NH, Francis X. “Rocky” Harrison, Jr. and his wife, Jeanne, of Chelmsford, MA, Colleen Parrish and her husband, Branch, of West Falmouth, MA, and Kevin Harrison of Chelmsford, MA; and by her 14 adored grandchildren of whom she was most proud; Gaye Lindsay(William), Glenn Ghidoni, Chad Ghidoni, of Plymouth, MA, Jennifer, Dennis and Brendan Harrison of Scituate, MA, Atty. Sean Solis, (Courtney) of Weston, CT, Atty. Nicholas Solis (Meghan) of Litteton, MA, Jeff Solis of Stoneham, MA, Dr. R. Thomas Finn, III (Dr. Avni) of Boston, MA, Dr. Kiirsten Finn Murphy, (Tom) of Portland, ME, Lauren Finn of Walla Walla, WA, Michaela Hagerty Petersen (Tom) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Trevor Harrison of Chelmsford, MA. She was the blessed great-grandmother of 8; Ryan, Cody, Haley, McCauley, Mason, Hamptin, Reed, and Sam. Dot is also survived by 4 loving sisters, Ellen Shea of Woburn, MA, Corrine Tuells of Westwood, MA, Mary Ranelli of Billerica, MA and Agnes Evans of Arlington, MA; and 19 nieces and nephews. In addition to her large, wonderful family, Dorothy was predeceased by 3 children; an infant daughter, Dorothy. M. Harrison, a son, William E. Burnes, and a daughter, Sandra McCauley Herterick.

It being her wish, there will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 9am, at St. Mary’s Church, Chelmsford, MA.

Private Family Interment to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watertown, MA.

Pamela Simard

CHELMSF0RD – Pamela A. (Boley) Simard, age 52, a resident of Chelmsford and former resident of Lowell died unexpectedly Monday, March 16, 2015 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Simard, Jr., to whom she was married for 24 years.

She was born in Richmond, VA on April 14, 1962, and was a daughter of Doris B. (Prud’homme) (Boley) Norwood of Bedford, NH and the late Paul Norwood. She was also the daughter of the late Reginald L. Boley. She received her early education at the Bartlett school in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1980. She earned an associate’s degree from Middlesex Community College.

Pamela had been employed for many years as an assistant administrator by Cisco Systems in Boxboro.

In her free time she enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and her faithful companion Riley. Her greatest joy was spending time with her cherished granddaughter Chloe.

In addition to her husband and mother, Pamela is survived by her three children, Robert E. Simard, III and his wife Jennifer of Ashby, Kristin Simard of Chelmsford, and Courtney Simard of Chelmsford; her granddaughter, Chloe Simard; two brothers, Leonard Boley and his wife Mary of Lynnwood, WA and Christopher Norwood of CA; three sisters, Kathleen Frechette of Lowell, Linda Linehan and her husband Paul of Auburn, NH, and Anita Santiago of Lowell; her father-in-law, Robert A. Simard, Sr. of Chelmsford; her stepsiblings, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was also the daughter-in-law of the late Phyllis Simard.

Visitation will be held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford, on Friday from 4 until 8 pm.

Her Funeral Service and interment in St. Joseph cemetery in Chelmsford will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Pamela’s memory to Habitat for Humanity, 124 Main St., Westford, MA 01886.

Sheila Keene

CHELMSFORD - Sheila Bauer Keene, 46, died suddenly on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at her home in Chelmsford.

Sheila was born in Melbourne, Florida on April 6, 1966. She was the daughter of David M. Bauer, of Chelmsford, and the late Barbara Secchiaroli Bauer. She grew up in Chelmsford and graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1984 and Burdett College in Boston in 1985.

She worked at Raytheon Company in Burlington, MA and then BK Medical Company in Peabody, MA. She was a lifelong fan of Steven Tyler and Aerosmith. A committed fan, she attended countless shows.

Sheila was a beautiful, fun, loving, kind-hearted woman with a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh and make others laugh too. She loved spending time outside camping and communing with nature. Constantly by her side, was her faithful companion and beloved dog, Perry. Hanging out with her father, sisters, brother-in- law, nieces and nephew was how she enjoyed spending her time the most. Her family was very important to her. The tragic loss of her mother impacted her deeply. She is now with her mom, and together they are in a better place.

Sheila leaves her loving father, three heartbroken sisters, Kathy Osborn of Chelmsford, Marybeth Williams of Cape Cod and Nancy Pelletier of Chelmsford and her brothers-in-law, John Osborn and Mark Williams. She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephew; Julia, Mimi, and Jenna Osborn; Carly and Marissa Williams; Nicholas and Stevie Pelletier; her faithful dog, Perry; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves her stepchildren Kris, Shanna and Keila Keene and their father, Kevin.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 12 to 3 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 o’clock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery.

James Fedele

CHELMSFORD - James Michael Fedele, 65, a longtime resident of Chelmsford and former resident of Somerville passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at Tufts Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Mary C. (O’Connell) Fedele to whom he was married for 33 years.

He was born in Somerville on February 13, 1950, a son of the late Louis and Giovanina (Giordano) Fedele Sr. He attended schools in Somerville and completed his undergraduate degree at Wentworth Institute before going on to receive his Masters Degree at Lesley University.

Jim spent a great deal of his time volunteering for a variety of local organizations, including Table of Plenty, Easter Seals, Alternative House and the Lowell Folk Festival. He was an avid golfer, a sports fanatic, he always followed the Boston teams and he loved music, especially the Grateful Dead. Above all, Jim loved the time he spent with his wife, Mary.

In addition to his loving wife, Jim is survived by a brother, Louis Fedele Jr., three brothers- in-law, James O’Connell and his wife Kimberly, Vinny O’Connell and his wife Patty and Michael Nowak and a nephew, Peter O’Connell and his wife Giselle. He was predeceased by his brother, John Fedele and a sister-in-law, Jane Nowak.

Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St. CHELMSFORD. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 o’clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd. Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to Table of Plenty in Chelmsford, 18 St. Andrews Way, North Chelmsford, MA 01863.

Thomas DeJesus

Thomas A. DeJesus, 67, a resident of Westford and a former longtime resident of Lowell passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill. He was the beloved husband of Laura (Polli) Capone.

He was born in Lowell, MA on August 14, 1946 a son of the late Antonio DeJesus and Mary (Garanito) DeJesus and was educated in Lowell schools. Tom served for 6 years in the United States Army Reserves as a medic.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Delta Realty in Lowell.

Tom was an avid sports fan and loved the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed working in his garden and most of all he loved to spend time with his family and always enjoyed his yearly trip to Las Vegas with his wife.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Thomas DeJesus; five grandchildren; David and Jacqueline DeJesus, Alyssa, Alaina and Joseph Capone; two great granddaughters; Julianna and Olivia DeJesus; two stepsons, Paul Capone and his wife Julie and Steven Capone; a sister Kathleen Guaraldi and her husband Edward and two brothers; Edward DeJesus and his wife Janet and Antonio DeJesus and his wife Deborah.

Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St. CHELMSFORD on Sunday from 4 to 7 pm.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 o’clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd. Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery.

Carl Theodore

WESTFORD - Carl E. Theodore, 53, a resident of Plymouth, died February 23, 2013 from natural causes. He was born on February 13, 1960, the son of the late Theodore P. and Anita (Carlstedt) Theodore, and brother of the late Peter C. Theodore. He was the husband of Donna (Kinan) Theodore.

Carl received his education in Quincy Schools and was a graduate of Boston College High School, Class of 1978 and the University of Lowell, Class of 1982, earning a B.S. in Plastics Engineering. He was a brother of the Sigma Phi Omicron fraternity. Carl was employed as a Plastics Engineer by DePuy, a division of Johnson & Johnson in Raynham, MA. He was previously employed for many years at Millipore Corporation in Bedford, MA.

In his free time, he loved being outdoors. He enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, skiing, waterskiing, ice skating and raking. He was well known for his horseshoe skills and his love of music – particularly Sinatra Saturday Night with Ron Della Chiesa.

In addition to Donna, he is survived by his children Carl B. Theodore of Newton, NH, and Gina M. Theodore of Westford, MA, his father and mother-in-law Edmund and Lucy Kinan of Plymouth, MA. He was the cousin of Susan and Jack Blease of Natick, MA and Kathy Mahoney of Ludlow, VT. Carl is also survived by several dear nieces and nephews and his best friend Tom Bannister of Ogunquit, ME.

Family and friends are invited to attend a service in celebration of his life on Saturday, March 2 at 10:30AM at the Grace Community Church, 275 Billerica Rd, Chelmsford, MA. Service will be followed by a Tribute to Carl at 12:30 PM at the Westford Regency, 219 Littleton Road, Westford, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl’s name may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Northern New England Chapter, a charity he has supported for over 20 years, c/o 114 Perimeter Rd, Unit G&H;, Nashua, NH 03063.

Franklin Warren

CHELMSFORD - Franklin Emerson Warren, 79, a lifelong resident of Chelmsford passed away on May 9, 2015 at Life Care Center of Acton. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (Lewis) Warren to whom he was married for over 55 years.

He was born in Lowell on May 25, 1935 a son of the late Edwin and Helen (Pearson) Warren.

Prior to his retirement in 2006, Franklin was the Animal Control Officer in Chelmsford for nearly 20 years. He worked at Eastern States/Agway for 32 years. Franklin also managed the Warren family farm, which has been in his family since 1699. He enjoyed spending the summer months in the hayfields with his family driving the same Farmall tractors used by his father in producing bales of hay. He and his wife Mary spent their time tending to the farm, from cutting brush along stonewalls to keeping the walking paths clear.

Franklin enjoyed traveling the area in his travel trailer including summer visits to Lake Willoughby in Vermont and with organized caravans with a local trailer club.

In addition to his loving wife, Franklin is survived by four children, Rebecca A. Warren and her partner Sue E. Andrews of Pepperell, Martha E. Cyr and her husband John of Biddeford, ME, Franklin M. Warren of Lowell, and David E. Warren and his wife Sally of Chelmsford; four grandchildren, Abigail S. and Emily R. Warren of Chelmsford and Adam J. and Jason R. Cyr of Biddeford, ME; a sister, Martha L. Pohl and her husband David of Chelmsford and a brother in law, David W. Lewis of Lowell.

Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St. CHELMSFORD.

His Funeral Service will be Thursday at 12 o’clock at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Franklin’s memory may be made to the Chelmsford Land Conservation Trust, P.O.Box 216 Chelmsford, MA 01824 or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 60 Walnut St. Wellesley Hills, MA 02481.
