MOODY, GEORGE F. JR. -- George F. Moody, Jr., 89, died Wednesday morning at a nursing facility in Lenox following a brief illness. He was the husband of Agnes F. (Bellefleur) Moody, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.
Born in Glen Rock, NJ on Feb. 20, 1916, he was the son of the late George and Emma (Burrage) Moody. He was raised and educated in Danvers and Swampscott and was a 1934 graduate of Swampscott High School. He went on to earn a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University.
Mr. Moody was employed for many years at Thompson Engineering in Boston where he retired as president. He also worked for several years at Raytheon.
Mr. Moody was a communicant and founding parishioner of St. Richard Church in Danvers and was a longtime Danvers resident. He was an avid photographer and model railroad enthusiast; he also enjoyed stamp collecting.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two children and their spouses: Richard D. and Christine Moody of Danvers and Carol A. and Richard Stockmal of Norfolk, CT; a brother, Robert Moody; a sister, Barbara Kent; six grandchildren: David, Scott, Amy Lynn, and Christina-Marie Moody, Steven Stockmal, and Sarabeth Grant; and five great-grandchildren: Jacob, Michael, Matthew, and Mark Moody, and Kassondra Stockmal. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Moody.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., West Peabody. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. EATON, WILLIAM G. -- William G. "Billy" Eaton, 69, died Thursday afternoon, Dec. 15, 2005 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Patricia (Briggs) Eaton, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on March 14, 1936, he was the son of the late Harold and Marion (Edwards) Eaton. He was raised and educated in Danvers and resided in Danvers for many years. He lived in California for more than 20 years and had resided in Beverly for the last five years. He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving in the Corps of Engineers. His granddaughter Patricia followed his example and served our counrty well in operation Iraqi Freedom.
Billy was a heavy equipment operator for several construction companies until his retirement.
Billy was former member of the First Baptist Church of Danvers and in his younger days enjoyed racing at the former West Peabody Speedway. He was an accomplished swimmer known for swimming from Danversport to Salem Willows. He loved watching NASCAR, working on old cars and spending time with friends at Sam & Joes and the former Vics Drive-in.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Sue-Ann Dunlop and her husband Donald of Beverly, Diane Eaton of Beverly, Patti-Ann Eaton of Beverly, Ann Marie Eaton and her husband Robert Sisco of CA, and Kerry Eaton and her husband Bill Trobaugh of CA; a sister, Donna Porter and her husband, Billy's best friend Warren; two brother, Carl Eaton and Paul Eaton and his wife Jan; two sisters-in-law and their husbands: Sandra and Arthur Craveiro and Ellen and Leonard Morrison; 24 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. He was the father of the late William H. Eaton and grandfather of the late Monica Nieto.
His Funeral Service will be held Monday evening Dec. 19, 2005 at 7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. An hour of visitation will precede the service from 6-7PM. Relatives and friends are invited. Donations in Billys memory may be made to Hospice of the No. Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.

GRINNELL, ELEANOR C.-- Eleanor C. (Everett) Grinnell, 78, died Wednesday morning at Beverly Hospital. She was the wife of Donald C. Grinnell, with whom she shared nearly 56 years of marriage.
Born in Braintree on October 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Medley and Irene Everett. She was raised and educated in Portsmouth and was a graduate of Portsmouth High School. She was also a graduate of the Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing. She had been a Danvers resident since 1950.
For many years she was employed as a registered nurse at Beverly Hospital. She also worked as a private duty nurse at the Salem Hospital and as a nurse in the office of Dr. Nat MacDonald. One of her fondest memories was working at the Nurses Station at the Topsfield Fair.
Mrs. Grinnell was a longtime member of the Danvers Garden Club and a longtime member of the Maple Street Congregational Church. She enjoyed her summers as the unofficial Mayor of West Beach for over 50 years.
Elly's greatest joy was spending time with her daughter Pattie and her two grandchildren, Tim and Becky. She looked forward to her grand daughters musicals and to her grandsons baseball games. She received several awards for being one of Haverhill baseballs biggest fans.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Michael Gregg of Bradford, and two grandchildren, Timothy and Rebecca Gregg, also of Bradford, and two sisters: Nancy and Lillian.
Her Funeral Service will be held Monday at 10:00AM in the Maple Street Congregational Church, 90 Maple St., Danvers. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Sunday from 3-7 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Donations may be made to Mayhew Island, P.O. Box 120 Bristol NH 03222. Elly has supported this program for over 30 years.

RYDGREN, MARYANNE E. -- Maryanne E. (Shepherd) Rydgren, 72, died Thursday morning at Beverly Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife of Norman V. Rydgren.
Born in Swampscott on August 11, 1933, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Innis) Shepherd. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1950. She was a longtime Danvers resident.
Mrs. Rydgren had been employed at the G.E. RiverWorks Plant in Lynn for several years. She was also employed for the Marblehead School Department as a clerk and accountant, and at Higginsons Book Company in Salem as a genealogist and secretary. She was a charter member of the Cytenney Club of Peabody.
She was a member and past president of the Danvers JayCees and a member of the Lynn Historical Society. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Hogan Regional Center and the Topsfield Box Top Thrift Shop.
Besides her husband, she is survived by 3 daughters: Erika Rydgren of NH, Lauren Cummings and her husband Bob of Danvers, and Kristin Rydgren of Danvers, her grandchildren: Aliyah and Alexandra Mekelatos, Alicia, James, and Rebecca Cummings, and Branden and Tobin Rackliffe; a brother, William Shepherd and his wife Marlene; a brother-in-law, Dana Rydgen; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Baldwin.
Her Funeral Service will be on Monday at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Wadsworth Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-8 PM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Care Network, 5 Federal St., Danvers, MA 01923.

DEFRANCESCO, ANDREW -- Andrew DeFrancesco, 88, died Tuesday evening, December 13, 2005 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers following a lengthy illness.
Born in Danvers on June 28, 1917, he was the son of the late Donato and Josephine (Digiovanni) DeFrancesco. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a lifelong Danvers resident.
For over forty years, Mr. DeFrancesco was employed by the Town of Danvers Water Department. He was well-known for his mobile sound system and participated in many local parades.
He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Thomas E. Power Council #1505. Mr. DeFrancesco was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed square dancing.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Ella DeFrancisco of Salem and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank DeFrancesco, Anthony DiFrancisco, and Geraldine Morose.
His Funeral Mass will be Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 9AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. JANES, RICHARD D. -- Richard D. Janes, 52, died Wednesday morning, December 14, 2005 at Beverly Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Salem on January 10, 1953, he was the son of Hedwig Elsie (Nicgorski) Janes and the late Robert E. Janes Sr. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1971.
Mr. Janes was employed for more than thirty years for the Town of Danvers Electric Division.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne (Dimmick) Janes of Danvers, two daughters: Courtney Janes of Falls Church, VA and Megan Janes of Danvers, and a brother, David Janes of Florida. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert Janes Jr. and William Janes.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 11:30AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Those who prefer may make donations in his name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

STORM, RICHARD G. -- Richard G. Storm, 84, died Saturday, December 10, 2005 in a local nursing facility following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Ada V. (Bucy) Storm, with whom he shared fifty-six years of marriage.
Born on September 11, 1921 in Springfield, OH, he was the son of the late Paul and Olive (Guay) Storm. He was raised and educated in Springfield and was a graduate of Springfield High School. He went on to further his education at Kenyon College where he earned a bachelors degree in 1943. He earned and additional degree in 1947 from Carnegie Mellon University. A resident of Yardley, PA for more than 40 years, he lived in Chagrin Falls, OH for nearly 10 years, and had lived in Peabody since 2003.
For 35 years, Mr. Storm was employed at U.S. Steel as a metallurgical engineer.
Mr. Storm was a former deacon, trustee, and elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Morrisville, PA. He was a member of Syria Temple in Trenton, NJ and Blue Lodge 776 in Fairless Hills, PA. A lover of the outdoors, he particularly enjoyed fishing, golf, woodworking, and gardening.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Paul J. Storm II of GA, a daughter, Candace E. Martinez of Wenham, MA, a daughter-in-law, Judith Miedema of OH, and a granddaughter, Maia Nicole Storm of GA. He was predeceased by a son, Richard G. Storm, Jr.
His Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 15th at 11AM in the Brooksby Villege Chapel, Brooksby Village Dr., Peabody. There are no visiting hours. Donations may be made in Richards memory to the Alzheimers Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. Arrangements are by C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.

BRIGANDI, BRO. BORGIA, C.F.X. -- Brother Borgia Brigandi, a member of the Congregation of the Brothers of St. Francis Xavier for fifty-six years, died after a long illness on December 10 at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly.
The son of the late Salvatore Brigandi and Mary Mobilia Brigandi, he was born in Somerville, MA, on February 13, 1931.
After attending Boys' Catholic High School in Malden, Arthur Brigandi entered the Xaverian Brothers in 1949 and was given the religious name Borgia. He was a teacher of mathematics for forty-four years, thirty-nine of which were spent at Flaget High School and St. Xavier High School in Louisville, Kentucky. His last teaching assignment was at St. John's Prep in Danvers.
Since 2002 Brother Borgia had been a member of Xaverian House, the Brothers' retirement facility on the Prep campus.
Brother Borgia was preceded in death by his sister Constance. Besides his brothers in religion, he is survived by his step-mother and two brothers and their families.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17th, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Administration Building of St. John's Prep on Spring Street in Danvers. Burial will follow in the Xaverian Brothers' Cemetery. A period of visitation will precede the Funeral Mass from 9:30-10:15 in the Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of C.R. Lyons and Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.

RITA MARGARET (Legere) CHANNELL, 84, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005 at Beverly Hospital. She was the wife of William Channell.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada on Sept. 29, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Bourque) Legere. She was raised and educated in Revere and graduated from The Immaculate Conception High School in 1941. She had been a resident of Danvers since 1953 and a communicant of St. Richard Parish. She was also a member of Our Ladys Sodality.
She is survived by her husband William with whom she shared 62 years of marriage, a son and daughter-in-law Bill and Kathleen Gerard of NH; a daughter and a son-in-law Linda and Domenic Biello of NH; two sisters Theresa Copello of Chelsea and Eleanor Schoonover of AZ and two grandchildren Christopher and AnnMarie Biello of NH. She was predeceased by Gerard Legere.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Sat. Dec. 10, 2005 in St. Richard Church, Forest St., Danvers. No Vst. Hrs., arrangements are made by C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers

McCRANN, HELEN G. -- Helen G. (Griffin) McCrann, 93, died Friday afternoon in a local nursing facility following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late James J. McCrann, with whom she shared nearly fifty years of marriage.
Born in South Boston on December 10, 1911, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Ellen (Downey) Griffin. She was raised and educated in South Boston and was a graduate of South Boston High School. A longtime resident of Quincy, she resided briefly in Peabody and Danvers before becoming ill.
Mrs. McCrann was employed for twenty years by the U.S. Postal Service as an administrative assistant in the Postal Inspection Services Department. She was a member of the Natl. Assoc. of Federal Employees.
A former communicant of Sacred Heart Parish in Quincy, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the Castle Island Association. Mrs. McCrann enjoyed sewing, knitting, bowling, dancing, and walking.
She is survived by four daughters: Mary McGrath and her husband Sean of PA, M. Jane Burch of FL, Ruth DeLisio and her husband Tony of Danvers, and Helen ORourke and her husband Kevin of Billerica, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, especially Edward Grenke. She was the sister of the late John Griffin, Sr. Mary Damien Smsm, Anna Grenke, and Josephine Houseman.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10AM in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will be Wednesday at 1PM in Pine Hill Cemetery, Willard St., Quincy. An hours of visitation will precede the funeral from 8:45 to 9:45 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 120 Wall St., 19th fl., New York, NY 10005 or the Marist Missionary Sisters, 349 Grove St, Waltham, MA 02453.
