GAGNON, JAMES V. -- James V. Gagnon, 70, a retired pharmacist, died Friday morning, October 6, 2006 at a local nursing facility following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Carole (Griffin) Gagnon, with whom he shared over 30 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn on March 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Alfred and Marguerite (Emmith) Gagnon. He was raised and educated in Peabody, and was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1953.
Mr. Gagnon owned and operated the former Lloyds Pharmacy and then the former Danvers Pharmacy, both in Danvers Square, until his retirement in 1993.
A Topsfield resident for over forty years, he loved working in his yard. He was an avid fisherman and had a thoughtful, generous personality.
He is survived by three children: Susan Slaton of Hudson, James Gagnon II of Danvers, and Julie Zwicker and her husband James of Danvers; two brothers: Joseph Gagnon of Marblehead and Richard Gagnon of Louisiana; a sister: Mary McDermott of Peabody, and four grandchildren: Griffin Zwicker, Timothy and Andrew Condon, and Collin Rankin.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10AM in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Donations in James memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Fl., Brookline, MA 02445.

CARPENTER, LOUISE JEANNETTE -- Louise Jeannette (Weaver) Carpenter, 45, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, October 2, 2006 after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Sheila Marie Carpenter.
Jeannette was born in Tampa, the daughter of the late Archie L. and Jean E. (Newlands) Weaver. She was raised and educated in Tampa and she resided there until relocating to Danvers in April. She was an enthusiastic fisher, an extremely talented craftsman, a lover of animals, and a fanatic of Spongebob Squarepants. She was affectionately known in some circles as Spongebob herself.
In addition to her wife, Mrs. Carpenter leaves a daughter, Natasha Weaver, her son-in-law, Denver Lee, a granddaughter, Cheyenne Lee, and her sister, Robyn Frazier. She also leaves behind her beloved Chihuahuas: Cuppie, Lala, and Wawa. She was predeceased by her son, Robert J. McCalister, and her twin sister, Nannette Weaver.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at 1:30PM in the Northshore Unitarian Universalist Church, 323 Locust St. (Rte. 35), Danvers. In lieu of flowers, it was Jeannettes wish that donations be made in her name to the New England Organ Bank, 1 Gateway Center, Suite 202, Newton, MA 02458.

BOYNTON, PHILIP -- Philip E. Boynton Jr. of Wenham died suddenly at his home on Friday, Feb. 22, 2006. He was 82. He was the husband of the late Cecilia M. (Sikora) Boynton, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.
Born on Jan. 2, 1924 in Brookline, he was the son of the late Philip and Melba (Proctor) Boynton. He graduated from Beverly High School and served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II.
Following the war, Mr. Boynton pursued a career in model building, a passion he developed in his youth when he spent countless hours building and flying large model airplanes across the fields and marshes of the North Shore. Several of his models were recognized in local competitions.
As a professional model engineer, Mr. Boynton built models for corporations such as General Electric and for public agencies, including NASA. His full-scale model of a Mercury space capsule was used by NASA for training exercises.
Mr. Boynton also had a love of sports cars, especially the British make, MG.
He is survived by two stepsons, Chester E. Leonard of Northborough, Mass., and Richard A. Leonard of Oakton, Va.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services are private and there are no visiting hours. Arrangements by C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.

WELENC, FRANCES -- Frances Welenc, 92, died Saturday morning, September 23, 2006, at Beverly Hospial.
Born in Salem on April 16, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Anthony snd Anastasia (Szalkowska) Welenc. She was raised in Danvers and attended Danvers schools.
Ms. Welenc was employed for several years as a fancy stitcher at the former Ideal Baby Shoe factory in Danvers, and then until the time of her retirement as an assembler at the former United Shoe Manufacturing Co. in Beverly.
She was a communicant of St. Richard Church in Danvers. Frannie enjoyed spending time with friends and family, dining out, and shopping.
She is survived by two sisters: Sophia McLaughlin of Beverly and Rose Grady of Lowell, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Joseph, James, Walter, William, Edward, and Alice Welenc, and Bertha Bourassa.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 9AM in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday from 6-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Donations may be made to the Perkins School for the Blind, 175 No. Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472.

CLIFFORD, LORRAINE M. -- Lorraine M. (Covino) Clifford, 71, of West Peabody, died Saturday evening in the Salem Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Walter Clifford with whom she had shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Ermina ( Gianantonio) Covino. She was raised and educated in Everett and was graduate of Everett High School Class of 1953. She had been a resident of West Peabody for over 40 years and was a part time resident of Lake Suzie, Florida.
Mrs. Clifford enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a Communicate of St Adelaides Parish in West Peabody.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons and daughters-in law, Kevin and Brenda Clifford of Danvers, Paul and Anna Clifford of Bradenton, FLA. And Mark and Kris Clifford of Eldorado Hills, CA; a daughter, Linda Clifford of Norwell; eight grandchildren: Michael, Emily, Vincent and Elena Clifford all of Danvers, Natalie, Daniel and Monica Clifford of Bradenton, Fla., and Sam Clifford of Eldorado Hills, CA.; three sisters: Mary Rampon of Burlington, Lucielle DiGloria of Boca Raton, Fla., and Dorothy Martinetti of Burlington. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00AM in St Adelaides Church, Lowell St., West Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be on Thursday from 4-7PM at C.R.Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Sqaure. Memorial contributions in Lorraines name may be made to the Sjogrens Syndrome Foundation, 8120 Woodmont Ave., Suite 530, Bethesda, MD 20814-2771.

PICILLO, AMELIA -- Amelia Picillo, 88, died Saturday evening, September 23, 2006 at a local nursing facility following a lengthy illness.
Born in Danvers on January 16, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Eugenia (Magliacane) Picillo. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1937. She was a lifelong resident of Danvers.
For many years, Ms. Picillo was employed at the former Empire Clothing in Danvers. She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church and active at the Danvers Senior Center, where she enjoyed water coloring.
She is survived by two brothers, Peter Picillo and his wife Elizabeth, and Vincent Picillo and his wife Shirley, all of Danvers, and a sister, Edith Fitzsimmons of Newport News, VA. She was the sister of the late Trento and Stephen Picillo.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at 8:30AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial was held privately in Annunciation Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Mary of the Annunciation Chuch Sanctuary Fund, 24 Conant St., Danvers, MA 01923 or the Danvers Senior Center, 25 Stone St., Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements are by C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.

CLARK, RON E. -- Ron E. Clark, 70, died Wednesday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the husband of Sharon (Jackson) Clark, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.
Born in Wilmington, NC, he was the son of the late Edwin and Katherine (Thornton) Clark. Ron received a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Masters Degree in Divinity from Starr King School for the Ministry.
Ron was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He served at Edwards A.F.B. as an electrical engineer. He had been a resident of the North Shore since 1976 and a Danvers resident since 1983.
In his service as a Unitarian Universalist minister, Ron first served as Associate Minister at the May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Society in Syracuse, NY, where he also served as a chaplain at Syracuse University. He then served as Minister at the First Unitarian Church in Salt Lake City. For eight years, he worked as Director of Extension and then as Director of Church Staff Finances for the Unitarian Universalist Association in Boston.
In 1978, Ron and his wife founded the Clark School. Ron served as the school's business manager as well as math and science teacher.
Ron was a longtime member of the Northshore Unitarian Universalist Church in Danvers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses: Kristen and Ned Leone of Newbury; Kevin Clark and Deborah Raible of Seattle, WA; and Jeffrey and Amy Clark of Beverly; five grandchildren: Christopher Leone, Nathan and Caleb Raible-Clark, and Aidan and Ronin Clark; and a sister-in-law, Marian Clark of NM. He was predeceased by a brother, Edwin P. Clark Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at 1:30P.M. in the Northshore Unitarian Universalist Church, 323 Locust St., Danvers. Donations in Rons memory may be made to the Ronald Clark Scholarship, c/o the Clark School, 487 Locust St., Danvers, MA 01923.

MADISON, LAWRENCE M. -- Lawrence M. Madison, 79, died Saturday at a Hospital in Florida near his home.
Born in Danvers on October 28, 1926, he was the son of John and Rachel (Fish) Madison. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1944. He served honorable in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He lived in Framingham for many years, then in Marblehead and Fort Lauderdale.
Mr. Madison was retired from the banking industry. He had been employed at both the Framingham Trust and the Bank of Boston. He was a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club of Framingham.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Laurie Madison of Salem, six grandchildren: Michel, Maura, Angela, and Abigail Madison, Theresa Monteiro, and Sarah McGee, and a sister, Joan Adamson of Peabody. He was the brother of the late John Madison and Rachel Beck.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 9AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Sylvan St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 6:30-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.

BAKIS, DORIS E. -- Doris E. Bakis, 68, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 11, 2006 after a sudden illness. She was the loving wife of Louis J. Bakis, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.
Born in Medford on January 4, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Hanify) Clemens. She was raised and educated in Medford, and was a 1955 graduate of St. Clements High School in Somerville. She was also a graduate of Bryant & Stratton College in Boston, Class of 1957.
Primarily a homemaker, Doris had worked as an assistant recruiter of management in human resources at General Electric in Lynn and also for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at North Shore Community College as an administrative assistant.
Doris was a former member of the St. Williams Guild at St. Johns Preparatory School and a member of the former Sodality at St. Richard Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and was awaiting the birth of her first great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children and their spouses: Sharon and Kevin Thurston of Danvers, Arlene and John Barbieri of Danvers, Kelly and Jeff LaCross of Danvers, John and Karin Bakis of Harvard, and Maureen Bakis and Rob Hayes of Danvers; 14 grandchildren: Erin and Sean Thurston, Jacqueline, Cameron, and Samantha Barbieri, Matthew Kreschollek, Tara and Kate LaCross, Johnny and Alicia Bakis, and Jack, Shea, Regan, and Riley Doyle. She was the sister of the late Carol Clemens.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10AM in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. FIORILLO, CHRISTOPHER J. -- Christopher J. Fiorillo, 28, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, September 9, 2006. He was the beloved son of Gerard and Nina (Romagnoli) Manning.
Born in Danvers on February 14, 1978, he was raised in Danvers and attended Danvers Public Schools. He was a longtime resident of Danvers and also lived in Haverhill.
Chris loved music and playing guitar.
In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his grandparents: Peter and Jeanne Romagnoli of Danvers, Robert Fiorello of Everett, and James Manning of Haverhill, two brothers, Jason Romagnoli and his wife Kelly of So. Portland, ME, and Joshua Manning of Danvers, a niece, Samantha Romagnoli, a nephew, Henry Romagnoli, and a loving extended family. He was the grandson of the late Susan Fiorillo and the late Jeanette Manning.
At the request of the family, funeral services are private. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Alliance for Research of Schizophrenia and Depression, 60 Cutler Mill Rd., Suite 404, Gret Neck, NY, 11021. Arrangements are by C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
