She was the mother of Kelli Ann Brockway of CA and Lynne Marie Gilcoine of South Boston; the grandmother of Bobby Gilcoine, Kaitlyn Pyne, Haley Gilcoine, Nicholas Leavitte and Kassidy Gilcoine; the sister of Sandra Ronca of South Boston, Mary Connors of Randolph, Kathie Leech of Quincy and Carl Lehto of South Boston and the sister-in-law of Lynne Marie Gilcoine of Holbrook. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

HELENA HOLLY

A funeral mass was said Wednesday, August 4, 2004 in St. Monica's Church for Helena T. Helen (Kempa) Holly. She was the wife of the late William R., Sr.; the mother of William R., Jr. and his wife Marjorie of South Boston, Jeremiah and his wife Karen of Scituate, Michael Holly, Laura Dolly and her husband Carl Sutera of the North End, Loreen Lori Culp of Quincy and the late Maureen, Monica and James Holly and the sister of the late Stanley Kempa. She also leaves 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchilden.

JAMES JOYCE

A funeral mass was said Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in St. Brigid's Church for James M. Joyce. He was the son of Helen (Horan) and the late Det. Coleman M. Joyce (Div. 3-BPD) and the brother of Patricia A. Flaherty and her husband Kevin of Quincy and Michael Joyce and his wife Mary of Falmouth. He also leaves 5 nephews, 1 niece, his favorite uncle James M. Horan of Squantum and many devoted and loyal friends especially Dorothy Rickus.

CLAIRE O'TOOLE

A funeral mass was said Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in Gate of Heaven Church for Claire Alice (Pierce) O'Toole. She was the wife of the late John P. O'Toole; the mother of Ellyn of San Mateo, James of San Francisco, Laurence and his wife Julie of Malden, Claire of South Boston and the late John M. O'Toole; the grandmother of Thorin, Kevin, Ryan, and Larkin and the sister of Frances Loncich of Boston and Sheila Stevens of Wrentham.

HUGH SPICER

A funeral service was held Friday, July 30, 2004 for Hugh F. Spicer, formerly of South Boston. He was the son of the late Hugh C. and Victoria A. (Szydlowski) Spicer and the brother of William S. and his wife Patricia of Dedham and Joseph C. and his wife Susan of Chelmsford. He also leaves several nephews, nieces and cousins.

PETRAQ XHAXHKA

A funeral service was held Saturday, July 31, 2004 at the Albanian Orthodox Cathedral of St. George for Petraq Xhaxhka. He was the husband of Zhaneta (Piluska); the father of Ilda and her husband Paul O'Brien of Malden and Genci and his wife Ann Jajka of South Boston; the grandfather of Shawna, Tommy and Audrey and the brother of Sofika Pina of Greece and Victoria Xhono of Tirana, Albania.

NICHOLAS ZAFERAKIS

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 2, 2004 at St. John the Baptist Church for Nicholas Zaferakis. He was the son of the late Soterios Sam and Efstathia Stella (Panousakis) Zaferakis; the husband of Maria (Bichekas) Zaferakis; the father of Tia Zaferakis of South Boston, Terry and Dawn Zaferakis of Revere, Nicholas Zaferakis, Jr. of South Boston and Pamela and Tom Gratiano of Northboro and the grandfather of Michael Gratiano, Stephanie Gratiano and Justin Zaferakis. He also leaves several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

JULIA ARLAUSKAS

A funeral mass was said Friday, September 10, 2004 at the Marian Manor for Julia J. (Platukis) Arlauskas. She was the wife of the late Joseph Arlauskas; the mother of Joseph Arlauskas and his wife Anne Arlauskas of South Boston; the sister of the late Joseph Platukis and Mary Skiendel and the grand-mother of Carol Arlauskas, Joseph, Jr., Mike, Anni Spence, John, Mark and Jonathan. She also leaves 10 great grandchildren and loving family from Marian Manor.

JAMES CURRAN

A funeral mass was said Wednesday, September 15, 2004 in St. Vincent Church for James V. Curran. He was the husband of the late Anna (Gannon); the father of Brian, James, Jr., Mary, Stephen, Joseph and his wife Carol (Reynolds), Mark and his wife Christina (Mooney); the grandfather of Anna, Aua and Tess; the brother of Mary W. and her husband Frank Higgins and the late Joseph, Patrick, Martin, Edward, Theresa and Robert; the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Powers) Curran and the uncle of Joseph T., Louise, Paul and Kathy Clark. He also leaves 3 great nephews, 2 great nieces and many cousins, friends and caring neighbors.

MICHAEL CURRAN

A Mass of Christian Burial was said Friday, September 10, 2004 in St. Augustine's Church for Michael M. Curran, formerly of South Boston. He was the husband of Marie J. (Rossetti); the brother of Barbara A. Curran of South Boston, John P. Curran and his wife Betty-Lou of Solomons, MD, John Canavan of Quincy, Anna C. Calnan and her husband Donald of Braintree and the late Joseph Curran and Mary C. Duquette and the brother-in-law of Joseph Rossetti of Malden. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

JOSEPH FONDANOVA

A funeral mass was said Thursday, September 16, 2004 in St. Monica's Church for Joseph Fondanova, formerly of South Boston. He was the son of Sam and Estelle (Hennessy) Fondanova; the brother of Louis of Ohio, Donna Perella of Mansfield and Michael of NY and the dear friend of Lisa Pinnell of Melrose. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

CATHERINE FRITCH

A funeral mass was said Saturday, September 11, 2004 in Gate of Heaven Church for Catherine E. (McDonald) Fritch. She was the wife of the late Arthur G. Fritch, Sr. and the mother of Leslie A. Coffey of South Boston, Arthur G. Fritch, Jr. and his wife Rita of South Boston, Keith R. Fritch of Monponsett, Grace and her husband Alvaro Quigua of Sudbury, and the late Pamela Waddie of Stoughton. She also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 great great grand-child.

STEPHEN HOLMES

A funeral mass was said Wednesday, September 15, 2004 in St. Vincent's Church for Stephen Anthony Holmes Ret. B.P.D. Ladder 19. He was the husband of Jean M. (Cannizzaro) Holmes; the father of Jean Andrews of Braintree, Debra Holmes of South Boston, Sharon Holmes of Quincy, Brandi Perry of Weymouth; the brother of Elizabeth Costello of South Boston, Jean DeBruyne of Michigan, John Holmes of FL and the late Edward Holmes; the grandfather of Stephen, Bobby, Amy. Crystal, Ashley and Robert and the devoted friend of Mr. and Mrs. Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Casey. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

INOCENIO KELLY

Interment will take place in the Dominican Republic for Inocenio Kelly. He was the husband of Digna. He leaves 9 children, 3 stepchildren, 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

PATRICIA KELLY

A funeral mass was said Friday, September 10, 2004 in Gate of Heaven Church for Patricia A. Kelly. She was the daughter of Frances L. (Alessi) and the late Richard P. Kelly and the sister of Richard F. Kelly of South Boston and Robert W. Kelly of Rochester, NH. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

RAE MAHONEY

Private services were held for Rae (Fini) Mahoney. She was the mother of Francis Mahoney of South Boston, Patricia Mahoney Butler of South Boston, Kevin Mahoney of Revere and Margaret Mahoney of South Boston; the sister of Theresa Fini of Cape Cod and the grandmother of Thomas Mahoney, William Louberry, Kevin, Edward and Michael Mahoney all of South Boston She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

THOMAS SCARLATA

A funeral mass was said Friday, September 10, 2004 in St. Francis Xavier Church, South Weymouth for Thomas J. Scarlata, formerly of South Boston. He was the husband of Antoinette Dolly (Sciaba) Scarlata; the father of Nathan J. Scarlata of Dorchester, Steven J. Scarlata of Braintree, Linda Murphy and Lisa Scarlata both of Weymouth and the brother of Dr. Robert Scarlata of CA, Jeanette Meuse of Wakefield and Mary Spinazzolo of Middleboro. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was said Friday, September 17, 2004 in St. Mary's Church, Dedham for John Barry, formerly of South Boston. He was the husband of Anne T. (Kane) Barry; the father of Karen Carter of Westlake, Ohio, John K. Barry of Malden, Brian C. and Timothy E. both of Boston; the grandfather of Ryan J. Carter, the son of the late Edward H. and Blanche (Manuel) Barry and the brother of Frank E. Barry of Hyannis, Elizabeth Connolly, Patrick Barry, Kathleen Amami all of South Boston, Nancy Logan of Dorchester, Linda Marcaurelle of Peabody and the late William and Robert Barry.
