Dorilla B. Ducharme

WARE - Dorilla B. (Bleau) Ducharme, 99, formerly of Meadow Road, died Sunday (7-21-2002) at Quaboag On The Common, West Brookfield. She was the grandmother of Robert Wyngowski of Bernardston and Andrew Wyngowski and Lisa Murphy, both of Greenfield, and the great-grandmother of Randi Wyngowski and Amanda Murphy, both of Greenfield.

Born in Three Rivers, July 26, 1902, she was the daughter of Peter and Delima (Dugas) Bleau. She was a 60-year resident of Ware.

Ducharme was a stitcher at the former Ware Knitters Inc.

She was a communicant of All Saints Church and a member of its Ladies of St. Anne.

She was a member of the Springfield Chapter of the Massachusetts Association for the Blind.

Her husband, Elphege Ducharme, died in 1969.

Survivors include a son, Rene of Warren; three daughters, Rosemarie Rogers of Ware, Madeleine Ostiguy of New Braintree and Rita Emerson of North Brookfield; a brother, Henry Bleau of Belchertown; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Dolores Wyngowski, predeceased her.

Services will be Saturday from the Charbonneau Funeral Home, followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in All Saints Church, North Street. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Mass. Commission for the Blind, 888 Kingston St., Boston, MA 02111, or the Ware Lion's Club, in care of Country Bank, Main Street, Ware, MA 01082.

Kenneth M. Stratton

GREENFIELD - Kenneth M. Stratton, 56, of 83 Pickett Lane died Friday (7-12-2002) at Holyoke Hospital.

Born in Springfield, he was the son of Jean (Samson) Stratton of Hatfield and the late Russell M. Stratton. He was educated in Springfield schools and graduated in 1964 from the former Technical High School and in 1975 from Western New England College, Springfield, with a bachelors degree in business administration. He lived in Springfield most of his life, moving to Greenfield in 1976.

Stratton was a 28-year employee and former vice president of Richco Products Inc. of Springfield.

He was an active member of the International Sanitary Supply Association and a member of the New England Sanitary Supply and the National Executive Housekeepers associations. He was also a former member of the Greenfield Lodge of Elks.

Stratton played semi-pro baseball in Springfield.

He enjoyed the beaches in Maine and gambling in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Hinsdale (N.H.) Greyhound Park.

Besides his mother, he leaves his wife of 24 years, the former Katherine Dunican; four children from a previous marriage to Elizabeth (Zarlengo) Miller; a son, Russell M. of Southwick; three daughters, Michelle C. Fournier of Glens Falls, N.Y., Denise E. Moccia of Springfield and Sharry A. Kudas of Kennebunkport, Maine; two brothers, Glen of Greenfield and Dan Goggins of Springfield; two sisters, Kathy Foley of Deerfield and Debbie Young of Hatfield; six grandchildren, Kenneth, Joseph and Clare Stratton and Isabella, Olivia and Gabriella Kudas; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal St., with the Rev. Larry Riddle officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Turners Falls.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kenneth M. Stratton Memorial Fund, in care of Greenfield Co-operative Bank, 63 Federal St., Greenfield, MA 01301, or the American Heart Association, Berkshire/Western Service, 1111 Elm St., Suite 9A, West Springfield, MA 01089, or the American Diabetes Association, One Bromfield St., Boston, MA 02108.

Victor J. Coolidge

ATHOL - Victor J. Coolidge, 90, formerly of 303 Sanders St., died Thursday (7-25-2002) in Quabbin Valley Healthcare, following an illness.

He was born in Athol, Jan. 2, 1912, a son of Simon and Mykalana (Lebesky) Coolidge, and was a lifelong resident of town. He was a graduate of Athol High School.

Coolidge was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was employed at the L.S. Starrett Co. for 25 years until his retirement.

Cooldige was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

He a member and past secretary of the American-Lithuanian Naturalization Club, and the Edward H. Phillips Post 102, American Legion.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an ornithologist and raised quail.

He leaves four cousins, Helen Burchell of New York City, Andrew J. Lashenske of Natick, Paula Burgess of Durham, N.C.; and Sonya Barnette of Gaithersburg, Md.; two nieces, Lauretta Coolidge of Hartford, Wis., and Vilma Cingiene, and family in Lithuania.

The funeral, with military honors, will be held Monday from the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 105 Main St. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.

A calling hour will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund, 105 Main Street, Athol, 01331; or to Athol Veterans Park Development Corporation Memorial Program, 134 Chestnut Hill Ave., Athol, 01331.

Anna M. Betz

TAUNTON - Anna M. (Almquist) Betz, 95, of Taunton died Wednesday (7-31-2002) in Morton Hospital.

She was born in the former town of Dana, the daughter of Charles and Amanda (Johnson) Almquist. She attended Dana and Petersham schools and was a graduate of Westfield Normal School, now Westfield State College.

Betz was a retired school teacher. She taught in the town of Rehoboth for 25 years, retiring in 1970. Previously, she taught in the Southworth Mills School in Hardwick and in Boylston and Fitchburg schools.

She attended St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

She was a member of Rose Croix Chapter Eastern Star, Oakland Senior Citizens, Old Colony Historical Society and the Rehoboth Retired Teachers Association.

Betz had traveled with her husband, Joseph W. Betz, to North and South America and to Europe. He predeceased her.

Survivors include a son, Joseph C. of Raynham and his wife Barbara; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 111 High St. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 149, Taunton, MA 02780, or to the charity of the donors choice.

Harold H. Fournier

CONWAY - Harold H. Fournier, 93, of 40 Fournier Road died Thursday (7-25-2002) at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield.

Born in Fairview, Feb. 13, 1909, he was the son of David E. and Lillian J. (Legare) Fournier. He was educated in Chicopee schools.

Fournier was the former proprietor of Fourniers Market.

He married to the former Edwina Guay in Nativity Church, Willimansett, May 30, 1934. The early part of their married lives was spent in Fairview. They moved to Conway in 1939. Both he and his wife operated the market until his retirement in 1973. She died March 18, 1999.

Fournier was a member of St. Marks Church.

Survivors include a sister, Alva Paquette of Holyoke and several nieces and nephews including David E. Fournier III of Belchertown.

Services will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the Wrisley Funeral Home, South Deerfield, followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Marys Church. Burial will follow in Howland Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Ann T. (Diggins) Morin
August 8, 1931 - November 1, 2007

AUBURN, MA - Ann T. (Diggins) Morin, 76, of Burnett St. and formerly of Boyce St., died Thursday November 1st, All Saints Day, in the UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Amos J. Morin. Their life together was a joy to both of them and to all who knew them.

She also leaves her daughter, Patricia Roszko and her husband Paul of New Fairfield, CT; her two sons, Stephen Morin and his wife Cathy of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada, and Francis Morin and his wife Lynn of Auburn; her sister, Doris O'Connor of West Yarmouth; nine grandchildren and a great grandchild. She was predeceased by her son, James Morin in 1998.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Stephen and Maude (Westwood) Diggins and has lived in Auburn for many years. She graduated from the former Saint Stephen's High School, and attended the former Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Morin retired in 1994 from Hahnemann Hospital, where she had worked as the office manager of the Urology Department for 20 years.

She was a communicant of Saint Joseph's Parish in Auburn for over 50 years. Ann enjoyed traveling and crossword puzzles, and cherrished the time she spent with Amos. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend who will be terribly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, November 6th from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 AM in Saint Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.

DOROTHY R. (RAMSDELL) CREELMAN
May 18, 1910 - August 8, 2006

Auburn - Dorothy R. (Ramsdell) Creelman, 96, a resident of The Woods at Eddy Pond, died Tuesday, August 8th in her home.

Her husband, Orland A. Creelman died in 1973.

She leaves her two sons, O. Warren Creelman of Auburn and David B. Creelman of Worcester; 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her three sons, Robert, Richard and Howard Creelman.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Leon W. and Lillian C. (Oliver) Ramsdell and has lived in Auburn for many years.

Mrs. Creelman worked for several years for the Reed & Prince Company in Worcester prior to her retirement.

Family and friends will gather for visitation at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn on Friday, August 11th from 9:30 -10:30 AM A funeral service will follow at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Auburn District Nursing Association, 191 Pakachoag St., Auburn, MA 01501.

Lois A. Marini

LEYDEN - Lois A. Marini, 58, formerly of 24 South County Road, died Sunday (7-28-2002) at the Buckley HealthCare Center in Greenfield.

Born in Greenfield, July 30, 1943, she was the daughter of Frank F. and Elizabeth L. (Irwin) Marini. In earlier years, she had lived in Boston and Vermont returning to Greenfield. She graduated in 1961 from Greenfield High School and attended Greenfield Community College.

Marini was a secretary in the advertising department at the Brattleboro (Vt.) Daily Reformer from 1967 to 1970. From 1970 to 1974, she operated a sewing fabric shop in Brattleboro. She then worked in the engineering department of the New England Telephone Co. in New Hampshire and Boston, and from 1974 to 1978 was manager at Carroll Travel Bureau and later travel agent for Valley Travel. From 1985 to 1987, she was a Realtor for Gerry Johnson Real Estate. From 1987 to 1995, she was a loan officer for the former United Bank. From 1995 until this year, she was the manager for Uniglobe Valley Travel of Greenfield.

Over the years, she was involved with the Big Sister Association, costume designer and handler for the Arena Civic Theater, Gill Conservation Commission, Gill Finance Committee, Montague Finance Committee, Association of Finance Committee Members, panel speaker for the Association of Finance Committee meetings, Montague Housing Partnership, Montague Landfill Advisory Committee, Franklin County Charter Commission, Deerfield Street Study Committee, former elected town meeting member of Montague and the United Way Allocation Committee.

She was a communicant of St. Marys Church in Turners Falls.

She enjoyed interior decorating, gardening and landscaping, sewing, traveling and history.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Judy K. Marini of Turners Falls; a nephew, Michael Marini and his wife Sharri of Hermitage, Pa.; a niece, Jennifer Katz and her husband Lee of Glen Allen, Va.; and a great-niece, Jesslyn Katz of Glen Allen.

Calling hour at the Walker Funeral Home, 14 High St., Greenfield, will be Wednesday at 10 a.m., followed by a service at 11. The Rev. Ronald G. Yargeau, pastor of Holy Trinity Church, Greenfield, will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Warm the Children, in care of The Recorder, P.O. Box 1367, Greenfield, MA 01301.
