Rose M. (Gallati) Zecco
June 26, 1918 - October 16, 2006

NORTHBORO - Rose Marie (Gallati) Zecco, 88, of 41 Sewell St, Shrewsbury died Monday, October 16th, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Antonio Galliti and Frances M. (Buffone) Gallati. Her husband of 64 years, Rocco P. Zecco, predeceased her in 2002.

Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, family gatherings and traditions, were very important to her, throughout her life, and she especially enjoyed summer cook-outs with her children, and grandchildren in the "screen house" Her love and interests in cooking, which began as a young woman later became her profession. For many years she provided catering services throughout the area.

She is survived by her children, Carol A. Hester, Jane M. Ashe and her husband, Edward D. Ashe all of Shrewsbury, her son-in-law, James J. Hester, of Worcester, her son, Robert P. Zecco and his wife, Paula M. Zecco, of West Boylston. She also leaves seven grandchildren, James J. Hester, Jr., Mark P. Hester, and Susan M. Hester of Shrewsbury, Christopher E. Ashe of Worcester, Kelly J. Ashe-Dailida of Rutland, Michael P. Zecco of Westborough, Jane K. (Zecco) Ellis of Melbourne, Australia, and eleven beautiful great-grandchildren. Rose leaves a sister, Yolanda DiMonopli, a brother, Joseph Gallati, her devoted twin sisters, Gladys Quitadamo and Dolores Mazzone, a sister-in-law, Nancy Zecco, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Bruno Gallati, Antoinette DiPierro, Samuel Gallati, Rita Langone and Bruno "Frank" Gallati.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 4-7pm on Thursday, October 19, at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street. Her funeral will be held Friday October 20, 2006 from the funeral home, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff of The Coleman House of Northborough for the professional and compassionate care given to our loving mother. Donations can be made to The Coleman House Family Support Group, 112 West Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532.

Ernest T. Billiel

FITCHBURG - Ernest T. Billiel, 63, of 35 Day St., died Saturday (7-27-2002) at home following an illness.

Born in Colrain, Nov. 20, 1938, he was the son of Alfred and Dorothy (Armitage) Billiel. He was a longtime resident of Spencerport, N.Y., before returning to Fitchburg six years ago.

Billiel was a truck driver in Spencerport for many years.

He was a member of the North American Hunting & Fishing Club and was a collector of memorabilia of the late race car driver Dale Earnhardt.

Survivors include three sons, Shayne Jordan and Brian Cormier, both of Fitchburg, and Mitchell Jordan of Leominster; two daughters, Lori Allison of Littleton, N.H., and Anne-Marie Cormier of Fitchburg; two brothers, Donald of Buckland and Edward of Athol; two sisters, Margaret Miller of Colrain and Beverly Bisson of Fitchburg; five grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services and burial were private.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

STANLEY MASON
May 5, 1918 - October 12, 2007

Auburn - Stanley Mason, 89, of Auburn passed away at Auburn Life Care after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Lillian (Price) Mason who died in 1978. He is survived by two daughters, Christine and her husband Peter Swanson of Leicester, April and her husband Lou Savas of Dudley; his brother William Mason of Auburn; his sister Lillian Hackett of Auburn; and three grandchildren, Adam Swanson, Julie and Natalie Savas. He also was the brother of Daniel Mason who died in 2004.
Stanley was born in Worcester. MA and was the son of George and Katherine (Bliss)
Mascinskas. After attending South High School and serving his country during World
War II he began a long and successful career as a master machinist at Norton Company and later Warner & Swazey.
He had a passion for hunting and fishing. He was an avid skier and member of the Norton ski club for many years. Stanley was also an accomplished woodworker and built many fine pieces of furniture for his daughters and grandchildren. He was a member of North American Martyrs church in Auburn.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Wednesday from 9:30 10:30 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. Auburn. His funeral will be held Wednesday from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 11:00 AM in the North American Martyrs' Church, 8 Wyoma Drive Auburn. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.

E. Henry A. Campoli

DALTON - E. Henry A. Campoli, 85, formerly of Pittsfield, died Tuesday (7-30-2002) at Craneville Place of Dalton. He was the father of the Rev. Timothy J. Campoli, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church in Greenfield.

He was born in Pittsfield, April 27, 1917, the son of Joseph and Marietta (Scurpa) Campoli.

A lifelong resident, he attended local schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Campoli was employed by General Electric Co. Ordnance Systems plant for 39 years, the last of which he spent as a planner and methods man, retiring in 1979. He was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church and its Holy Name Society.

He married the former Yvonne L. Daverin on Oct. 24, 1939. She died Feb. 13, 1998.

Besides his son of Greenfield, he leaves two other sons, Peter H. of Bedford, and James P. of Tamarac, Fla.; two daughters, Suzanne L. White of Tucson, Ariz., and SallyAnne M. Hitt of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a brother, Alexander Campoli of Pittsfield; a sister-in-law, Celestine Campoli of Pittsfield, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11 in St. Francis Xavier Church with his son, the Rev. Timothy J. Campoli, as principal celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Avenue, Pittsfield MA 01201.

Harlow W. Churchill

SHELBURNE - Harlow W. Churchill, 80, of 1127 Mohawk Trail died Wednesday (7-24-2002) at Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland, N.H.

He was born in Heath July 2, 1922, the son of Wallace E. and Laura Jane (Harris) Churchill.

Churchill was a 1940 graduate of Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls.

He was World War II Navy veteran. His tour of duty included the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was the recipient of the Philippine Liberation Medal, the American Theater Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Prior to his retirement in 1986, Churchill worked for A.R. Sandri Inc. in Greenfield for 13 years. Previously he worked for the former Millers Falls Tool Co. for several years.

He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, the former Rosemarie H. Hunkler, two sons, Gary and his wife, Karolyn, of Antioch, Calif., and Collin and his wife, Abigail, of Montague; two daughters, Audrey Davis and her husband, Saad, of Derby, Vt. and Pamela Whyte and her husband, Bradley, of Newark, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Diane Putnam and her husband, Kenneth, of Scarborough, Maine; a stepson, Douglas Turner of Northfield; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be Aug. 2 at 11 a.m. at Arms cemetery in Shelburne Falls with the Rev. David Neil, pastor of Trinity Church, officiating.

There are no calling hours.

It is suggested donations be made to Maplewood Nursing Home TLC Unit, 201 River Road, Westmoreland, N.H. 03467.

Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home in Shelburne Falls and Greenfield is in charge of arrangements.

Lena C. Walsh

GREENFIELD - Lena C. (LaPointe) Walsh, 83, of 42 Adams Road died Wednesday (7-24-2002) at the Franklin Medical Center.

She was born in Greenfield on Jan. 12, 1919, the daughter of Raymond and Sophie (Pigeon) LaPointe. She attended local schools in Greenfield.

Walsh was an inspector at the Greenfield Tap and Die Corp., retiring in 1964. She also was a sales clerk at the former Ann August Store in Greenfield.

She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.

She enjoyed porcelain dolls, sewing, crocheting, traveling and watching senior golf on television.

Her husband Clifford M. died in 1985.

Among her survivors are a son, Charles and his wife, Beverly, of Bakersfield, Calif.; four daughters, Shirley LaShier and her husband, Donald, of Greenfield, Patricia Ozdarksi and her husband, Paul, of Turners Falls, Judith Reipold and her husband, Paul, of Turners Falls and Merry Lombard and her husband, Charles, of Granville; a sister, Elaine Terranova of Brooksville, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Timothy Campoli, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenfield Area Animal Shelter, PO Box 786, Greenfield, MA 01302.

Michael W. Laskey

GREENFIELD - Michael W. Laskey, 55, of 9 Holly Avenue, died Monday (8-6-2002) in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.

He was born in Greenfield, Oct. 7, 1946, the son of Walter and Eileen (OKeefe) Laskey.

He was a graduate of Holy Trinity School and Greenfield High School, class of 1964. He was also a graduate of East Coast Aero Tech in Lexington.

In September 1964 he enlisted in the Air Force, serving until July 1967. He was an Airman First Class during the Vietnam War, at one time stationed in Germany.

On May 31, 1969, he married the former Ellen Falvey.

Laskey was employed by Lunt Silversmiths for the past 25 years. Most recently he was a buffer in the finishing area.

He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church.

Besides his parents of Greenfield, and his wife of 33 years, he leaves two daughters, Elizabeth Lau and her husband, Alex, of Derry, N.H., and Eileen Quattrochio and her husband, David, of Westbrook, Maine; two brothers, Patrick Laskey of South Hadley, and Walter Laskey Jr. of Greenfield; two grandsons, Tyler Lau and Alexander Quattrochio, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church. The Rev. Ronald Yargeau, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Calling hours will be today from 3 to 7 p.m. at Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St.

Rachel G. Abar

REDDING, Calif. - Rachel Glibbery (Crowley) Abar, 75, formerly of Greenfield, Mass., of 500 Hilltop Drive, died Tuesday (10-1-2002) in Canyonwood Nursing and Rehab Center after a brief illness with cancer.

She was born in Derby Line, Vt., Oct. 28, 1926, the daughter of Alfred and Anita (Chartier) Fournier. She was adopted by John J. and Anita (Chartier) Crowley.

She attended schools in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1945. She graduated from Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing in 1948.

Abar was employed by several hospitals as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts, New York and Vermont.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, G. Gilman Abar; three sons, Eric and his wife, Janice, of Costa Rica, Mark and his wife, Katherine, of Ohio, and Carl of Michigan; two step-children, Nathan and his wife, Janilee of New York, and Winona and her husband, Michael of Connecticut, and five grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Richard D.

There will be no services, but a celebration of her life will be at a time and place to be announced.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard D. Glibbery Scholarship, in care of Brattleboro Union High School, Fair Grounds Road, Brattleboro VT 05301.
