GERTRUDE T. (IACOVONE) ANDERSON
February 16, 1927 - December 15, 2005

SHREWSBURY - Gertrude T. (Iacovone) Anderson, 78, of 96 Harriett Avenue, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14th in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, after a long battle with heart disease.

She leaves her beloved husband of 59 years, Herbert T. Anderson; a sister, Bernadette Ostromecki of Worcester; a foster sister, Mary Brooks of Shrewsbury. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Iacovone. She was born in Worcester, and along with her brother, was raised as foster children of the late Mr. & Mrs. George Fournier of Worcester. She attended Worcester Schools, and has lived in Shrewsbury for 46 years.

Mrs. Anderson worked for the former Telechron Incorporated of Worcester for many years before retiring in 1961. Following her retirement, she and her husband owned and operated Herb's Restaurant in Holden for 17 years.

Private funeral services will be held on Saturday. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

AUBURN - Louise A. (Terrien) Archambault, 81, of Auburn died Monday, December 19th in the Life Care Center of Auburn, after an illness.

Her husband, Albert J. "Archie" Archambault died in 1992.

She leaves her sister, Dorothy, wife of John Tomlinson of Auburn; her niece, Deborah Almstrom; her nephews, Joseph, James and John Tomlinson as well as many friends.

She was born in Whitinsville, daughter of the late Leon and Adrienne (Brule) Terrien and lived in Auburn for many years. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1942, then she served in the US Coast Guard from 1944-1946.

Mrs. Archambault worked as a maintenance worker at the Worcester Post Office main branch for many years before retiring. She also worked as a real estate broker for several years, and as a cashier for Hodes Market in Worcester.

She was a former member of St. Joseph's Church and the Auburn Senior Center.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, December 21st from 2-3 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn, with a prayer service to be held at 3 PM. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Life Care Center of Auburn Patient Activities Fund, 14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, MA 01501

Francis K. Beckwith, Jr.
February 26, 1927 - April 22, 2006

WORCESTER - Francis K. Beckwith, Jr. 78, of Worcester and formerly of Shrewsbury, died Saturday, April 22nd in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

His wife of 54 years, Beatrice M. (Alexander) Beckwith died in 2004

He leaves his son, Francis K. "Buddy" Beckwith, III, and his wife Terry; three daughters, Linda, wife of David Doyle, LouAnn, wife of Philip St. John, and Judy, wife of Larry DeFosse; his sister, Carol, wife of David Annunziata; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Carol Ann Tracy, and his siblings, Thomas and William Mawdsley, and Flora Duff.

He was born in Worcester, so of the late Francis K. Beckwith, and Mary (Martin) and William Mawdsley and was raised in Shrewsbury. He attended Shrewsbury High School and entered the US Navy during his junior year. He served faithfully during World War II aboard the USS Flint in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre.

Mr. Beckwith retired on October 31, 1985 from the Heald Machine Division of Cincinnati Milacron, Worcester, where he was a supervisor in Raw Stores.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 25th from 6-8 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, April 26th at 1 PM in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Mountain View Cemetery

Donald D. "Don" Beeso
October 1, 1943 - March 31, 2006

AUBURN - Donald D. "Don" Beeso, 62, of Auburn, died Thursday, March 30th in Saint Vincent Hospital after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 26 years, Barbara M. (Whitney) Beeso; a son, Raymond Beeso of Worcester, a daughter, Ann Marie Morales of Worcester, a brother, Ronald Besso of Worcester; also survived by one granddaughter. Mr. Beeso was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Richard Beeso and a sister, Rita Caisse.

Donald was born in Worcester, son of the late Arthur S. Beeso, Sr. and Iola M (Raymus) Beeso and had lived in Auburn for the past 26 years.

Mr. Beeso had been employed by the City of Worcester Sanitation Department for 35 years before he retired. One of Don's favorite things to do was to watch car racing of any kind.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Don's family on Saturday, April 1st, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn a funeral service will follow at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 350 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01604.

VIRGINIA E. (GOULD) IVESON PERKINS
June 2, 1912 - September 7, 2007

Place of Death: Holden, MA

Paxton - Virginia E. (Gould) Iveson Perkins, 95, of Camp Street and formerly of Auburn, died Friday, September 7th in the Holden Nursing Home.

Her husband, Holmes Iveson died in 1977. Her second husband, Donald R. Perkins died in 1998.

Virginia is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four siblings.

She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late William and Mary E. (Rollins) Gould. She graduated from North High School, and Becker College. She retired from the Paul Revere Insurance Company, Worcester, and had also worked for New England Telephone. She was a founding member and Past Worthy Matron of the Pakachoag Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She also was active in the 224th Club.

Services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be private. There are no calling hours.

Robert P. Alekshun

Auburn - Robert P. Alekshun, 70, of Auburn, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007
He is survived by his wife Virginia R. (Luikey) Alekshun, a daughter Bonnie A. Mousseau and a son Steven D. Alekshun, 5 grandchildren, a brother Joseph J. Alekshun, Jr. and niece and nephews.
He is predeceased by a son Gary J. Alekshun, and a brother James B. Alekshun.
He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Joseph J. and Mary (Waskelavich) Alekshun. He was educated in Worcester schools. He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Air Force, S.A.C.
He is a graduate of WPI with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He owned and operated Superior Engraving and Stamp Works for over 30 years.
He was also a freelance photographer. Mr. Alekshun was a member of the New England Woodcarvers Association and the Singletary Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid fisherman, and he enjoyed hiking and biking.

ANGELA J. ALICANDRO

AUBURN / SHREWSBURY - Angela J. Alicandro, 25, of Auburn formerly of Shrewsbury died Thursday May 24th in Saint Vincent Hospital.

She leaves her mother and step-father, Deborah (Kondrot) Congdon and Matthew Congdon of Auburn; her father and step-mother, William P. Alicandro, Sr., and Darlene A. Alicandro of Shrewsbury; her brother, William P. Alicandro, Jr. of Auburn; a sister, Staff Sgt Stephanie A. Alicandro, USAF; maternal grandparents, Frank M. and Dolores Bottcher of Shrewsbury; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Valente of Shrewsbury; a step-brother, C.J. Lavallee of Worcester; two step-sisters, Kimberly Lavallee of Hardwick and Sherrie Lavallee of Rutland.

Angela was born in Worcester and had lived in Shrewsbury for several years before moving to Auburn. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1999. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, baking, cooking and held at job at Wendy's Restaurant in Worcester. She also loved all kinds of animals, especially dogs and cats.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Angela's funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 30th at 11 A.M. in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Memorial contributions in Angela's memory can be made to MSPCA of Massachusetts, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130. Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury is assisting Angela's family with arrangements.

Jan Altif
December 10, 1927 - May 11, 2007

Auburn - Jan (Gillen) Altif, 79, of Auburn, a homemaker, died Friday surrounded by her loving family in her home after a long illness.
She is survived by her loving Husband of 57 years, Ralph Altif, her daughter Sharon Lindsey of Auburn, her two grandsons; John Arcure of Shrewsbury and Brian Lindsey of Worcester
She was born in Boston, and educated in Saugus Schools.
Mrs. Altif was an avid golfer and was formerly president of the Women's league at Heritage Country Club. Jan was secretary of the Tuesday morning bowling league at Auburn Ten Pin for 25 years. She also enjoyed reading and playing cards.
Her funeral and burial were held privately.

Fritz Altman
April 24, 1923 - March 7, 2007

AUBURN - Frederic G. "Fritz" Altman, of Coolidge Street, died peacefully in his home after an illness.
His Wife Sarah (Bell) Altman, died in 2001.
He is survived by his Son, Michael Altman, his daughter-in-law Sheryl Altman, and his Grandson, Christopher Altman, all of Auburn.
He is also survived by two nieces, Connie Hassburg, of Bronx, NY and Jeannette Hassburg, of San Franciso, CA.
Predeceased members of his family include; his daughter Patti Sue Altman, and a sister Hilda Hassberg.
Fritz was born in Vienna Austria, son of the late Isidore and Anna (Stefandel); he was educated in Vienna schools.
Fritz immigrated to the United States in 1940
He worked as a retail manager at George's Variety Store in Brooklyn, NY, where he was known, loved and relied on by his customers for over 50 years.
Mr. Altman, loved Thoroughbred Horse Racing, and loved to sing. He was a devoted member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, in Auburn.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday from 2-4 PM, in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral service will be held immediately following the visiting hours at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at a time convenient to the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA or to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 35 School Street, Auburn, 01501

Alice A. Anatrella
March 17, 1918 - February 21, 2007

SHREWSBURY - Alice A. Anatrella 88, a resident of Southgate at Shrewsbury and formerly of Flushing, NY died Wednesday, Feb. 21st in the Shrewsbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She leaves her brother, Louis Anatrella of St. James, Long Island, NY; her four sisters, Sr. Marie Anatrella, VHM of Brooklyn, NY, Emily Moysello of Shrewsbury, Grace Sedita of Flushing, NY, and Jeanne Petrocelli of Somers, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Rita Grazda.

She was born in Manhattan, NY a daughter of the late Louis and Alice (O'Malley) Anatrella and lived most of her life in Flushing before moving to Shrewsbury 17 years ago. She graduated from Cathedral High School, NYC and Fordham University.

Miss Anatrella worked as an office assistant for the former Sinclair Oil Company prior to her retirement.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visiting hour on Monday, Feb. 26th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. A funeral Mass will follow in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury at 11 AM. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
