James W. "Jamie" Conant
October 7, 1975 - March 3, 2006

AUBURN, MA - James W. "Jamie" Conant, 30 of Worcester, former longtime Auburn resident, died Friday after a brief illness.
He is survived by his parents James D. and Deirdre (Cadarette) Conant of Auburn, his 2 sisters; Rebecca A. Conant, of Portland, OR, and Laura J. and her husband Kevin Howard, of Leicester, two nieces Erin, and Colleen, and a nephew Ryan, he leaves several aunts uncles, and cousins, and many friends.
Jamie was born and educated and lived most of his life in Auburn where he as a 3-sport athlete, Football, Hockey and Baseball. He was a 1993 graduate of Auburn High School. He graduated from the IBEW Apprentice Training Program.
Mr. Conant was an electrician; he worked for Electric Service and Supply in Worcester for many years. He was a former member of IBEW Local 96.
Jamie enjoyed fishing skiing, and snowboarding, he also enjoyed white-water rafting.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street. His Funeral will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday in Saint Joseph's Church 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

Walter J. Condon
April 2, 1921 - December 5, 2005

SHREWSBURY - Walter J. Condon, 86, of Shrewsbury, died Monday, December 5th in UMass Memorial Medical Center- Memorial Campus after an illness.

Walter leaves his wife of 59 years, Pauline C. (Davis) Condon; a son, Robert W. Condon of Auburn; a daughter, Jane E. Condon of Shrewsbury; a daughter in law, Judy Condon of Charlton; a brother, Philip J. Condon of Hudson, Florida and one grandson, Timothy R. Condon of Dudley. He was predeceased a son, Frederick W. Condon and 8 of his siblings.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late William and Josephine (Scully) Condon and had lived in Shrewsbury for over 50 years. Walter had worked for more than 30 years as a salesman for several lumber companies before he retired.

Mr. Condon was W.W. II Army veteran who served as a combat engineer with the 29th Infantry Division. He was one of the many men in the second wave of troops to have landed on Omaha Beach in Normandy during the D-Day invasion. He had been with the 29th Infantry Division through battles in France, Belgium, and Germany. Walter was awarded with many decorations and citations including a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for all of his heroic actions during W.W. II.

He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Shrewsbury. He also was active in the Matthew John Whittall Lodge of Masons; the Worcester Shrine Club; the Greendale Retired Men's Club; he also was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the 29th Division Association.

Funeral Services for Mr. Condon will be held on Thursday, December 8th at 11 A.M. in Trinity Episcopal Church, 440 Main Street, Shrewsbury. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private in Mountain View cemetery in Shrewsbury. Memorial contributions can be made to the Saint Anne's Human Services c/o St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 or to the Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545

Janet M. (Hirtle) Connolly
July 21, 1930 - February 1, 2006

AUBURN, MA - Janet M. (Hirtle) Connolly, 75, of Fletcher Drive died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday February 1.
Janet is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Vincent Francis and her four sons, Mark of Watertown and his wife Jill; Steven of Glastonbury, CT and his wife Christine; David of Leicester and his wife Lori; and Patrick of Mountain View, CA and his wife Julie. Beloved grandmother of Liam, Mairead, Katie, Daniel, Meghan, Emily, and Timothy.
Janet was born July 21, 1930 in Brighton MA, the daughter of the late William Gordon Hirtle and Marion Clark. Raised in Waltham, Janet was an avid skater and was offered the opportunity to skate with the Ice Capades. Janet graduated from Waltham High class of 1949 and went on to attend Boston University. She was working in Boston at the time she met her husband. Janet and Vincent were married in Waltham and settled in Auburn where they raised four sons. She worked as an admitting officer at Memorial Hospital in Worcester for 17 years. At one time she served as president of the WPI Women's Club. Janet was an active parishioner at North American Martyrs Church. She was a vibrant and creative person; in addition to oil painting and ceramics, she enjoyed reading, sewing, and trips to the beach.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral will be held Saturday from the funeral home, with a Mass in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will follow in Notre-Dame Cemetery.

Josephine M. (Dubsky) Conroy
July 4, 1911 - May 30, 2006

AUBURN, MA - Josephine M. (Dubsky) Conroy, 94, of Pakachoag Village, Auburn died Tuesday, in her home after an illness.
Her husband Thomas E. Conroy Sr. Died in 1966
She is survived by her children; Thomas E. Conroy, Jr. of Worcester, Daniel J. Conroy, of St. Louis, MO., and Mary Beth Mannila, of Auburn, 8 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren, 3 brothers; John Dubsky, of Worcester, Joseph Dubsky, of Murrells Inlet, SC., and Edward Dubsky, of Southbridge, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings; Stephen Dupskey, Francis Dubski, Anthony Dubsky, Mildred Diggins, Mary Dubsky, Helen Dubsky, and Johanna Dubsky.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary C. (Kosinski) Dubsky; she was educated in the Worcester schools, graduating from Commerce High School.
She worked as a receptionist for the Bell Company, and Memorial Hospital, in Worcester for many years, she also provided in-home care for the elderly prior to her retirement.
She was a founding member of North American Martyrs' Church. She has lived in Auburn for over 56 years.
She loved to play cards and bingo and she has been a member of the same bridge club for nearly 60 years.

George A. Cooney, Jr.,
March 3, 1927 - February 2, 2006

CHARLTON/AUBURN, MA - George A. Cooney., Jr. 78, of 10 Scott Drive, Charlton, and former longtime resident of Barbara Avenue, Auburn died Friday, February 3rd in his home after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Theresa F. (Kavanaugh) Cooney; three daughters, Ann T. Trombly and her husband, Craig of Charlton; Catherine M. Vangos and her husband, Angelo of Charlton and Mary F. McCarthy and her husband, Dennis of Nashua, New Hampshire; a brother, John Cooney of Auburn; two sisters, Grace and Mary Cooney both of Auburn; also survived by 8 grandchildren, Neal and Kevan Trombly, Kaylen, William and Daniel Vangos; Kyle, Samuel and Patrick McCarthy; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, George M. Cooney who died in 1984; three brothers William, Edward and James Cooney and two sisters, Dorothy Cooney and Gertrude Collins.

George was born in Worcester, son of the late George A. Cooney, Sr. and Gertrude (Doyle) Cooney and had lived many years in Auburn before moving to Charlton 2 years ago. He graduated from Saint Peter's High School in Worcester in 1945 and was a W. W. II U.S. Army Veteran.

Mr. Cooney had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 36 years, the last 10 years of his service he held the position as the Postmaster in Auburn before he retired in 1982.

He was a member of Saint Ann's Parish in North Oxford; a member of the Chester P. Tuttle American Legion Post # 279 in Auburn; a member of the Auburn Knights of Columbus, Council # 4158; a member of the 88th Infantry Division Association Blue Devils; a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a member of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States.

There are no calling hours planned for Mr. Cooney. A funeral Mass for George will be celebrated on Monday, February 6th at 10:30 A.M. in Saint Ann's Church, 654 Main Street, North Oxford. Burial will follow in the family lot in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to Saint Ann's Church, 654 Main Street, North Oxford, MA 01540.

Susan M. Corazzini
July 18, 1958 - June 30, 2006

SHREWSBURY - Susan M. Corazzini, 47, of Williamsburg Court, Shrewsbury, died unexpectedly Friday, June 30th in her home.

She leaves her mother, Beverly (Prosser) Corazzini of Shrewsbury; six brothers, George E. Corazzini of Webster, David G. Corazzini, and Henry E. Corazzini both of Worcester, John W. Corazzini of Paxton, Michael A. Corazzini of Kalispell, Montana and Stephen P.Corazzini of Tucson, Arizona; three sisters, Mary Anne Corazzini of Staten Island, New York, Joanne M. Corazzini of Shrewsbury and Laurie A. Corazzini of Tucson, Arizona; also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, 2 grand nieces.

Susan was born in Worcester, daughter of the late George Corazzini, Jr. and had lived in Shrewsbury all of her life. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1976 and then later received a Business Administration Degree from Becker Junior College.

Ms. Corazzini had worked as a Practice Manager for 4 years for the Fallon Clinic at both the North Lake Avenue, Worcester facility and the Holden facility. She previously spent 20 years working as a Unit Clerk at the UMass Medical Center-University Campus.

She was a member of Saint Anne's Parish in Shrewsbury.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Susan's funeral Mass that will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8th at 10 A.M. in Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in the Corazzini family lot in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to Saint Anne's Human Services, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545. Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury is assisting the Corazzini family with arrangements.

Doris J. Cournoyer
October 21, 1931 - September 8, 2006

Auburn - Doris J. Cournoyer, 74, of 43 Waterman Road, died unexpectedly Friday, September 8 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

She leaves her sisters, Joan Boudreau of Worcester and Mary Finn, with whom she lived; three nieces and three nephews, several grand nieces and nephews and many friends. Doris was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Dewey and Ella (Barbeau) Cournoyer and has lived in Auburn for more than 5 years. She graduated from Commerce High School and the Holy Ghost Nursing School, Cambridge. Miss Cournoyer worked for 21 years for the Astra Pharmaceutical Company, Westborough, before retiring in 1996. She was an active member of North American Martyrs Parish, Auburn where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. She was enjoyed volunteering with the senior citizens in Auburn and at the St. Francis Home, Worcester, through her visits and the sharing of her time.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, September 10 from 4-7 P.M. in Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 11th at 10 AM in the North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr., Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. If desired, memorial donations may be made the Little Franciscans of Mary, 55 Moore Ave., Worcester, MA 01602.

Kathleen Marie "Katie" Courville
January 14, 1965 - June 26, 2006

Kathleen Marie "Katie" Courville, 41, of 3 Lancaster Street, Auburn, passed into the arms of the Lord on Monday, June 26th, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Katie died at home with her family by her side.

Katie was born in Worcester, the daughter of Paula R. (Nicholson) Courville and the late William F. Courville. She was a graduate of Auburn High School. Katie loved children and worked in the child care field. She was also employed at several nursing homes in Worcester as a nurse's aide, at Wal-Mart in Oxford, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels at Pakachoag Village in Auburn where she resided for eight years.

In addition to her mother of Auburn, Katie is survived by: her sister Lynn Courville and husband Donald Desjardin of Uxbridge; her brother Timothy Courville and wife Sharon and their children Jared, Aubrey and Nathan of Framingham; her sister Susan Courville of Auburn; and her sister Laurie Scully and husband Daniel of Sturbridge and their sons Joshua of Southbridge and Nicholas of Sturbridge. Katie was predeceased by her brother Michael Steven, who died in 1962. She also leaves several aunts, uncles, many cousins and friends, and her beloved kitty "Precious Fuffy".

We will always remember Katie for her bravery, compassion and wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, June 29th from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral will be celebrated on Friday, June 30th at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.

M. Jean (Davis) Crawford
August 5, 2007

Shrewsbury - M. Jean Crawford, 85, died in her home on Sunday, August 5th . She leaves her husband of 67 years, Laureston S. Crawford, a daughter Jacquelyn Blair, three grandsons, Robert Solomita of Caribou, ME; Paul Wilson of Menifee, CA; Daniel Blair serving in the U.S. Air Force; three great grand daughters, Marie Solomita, Ashley Wilson and Jessica Scoville and a brother, Herbert Davis of Palmyra, ME.
Born in Palmyra, ME, she was the daughter of Erwin and Winnie Davis. She graduated from Maine Central Institute. She worked as a hair stylist at Roberts of Tatnuck for many years.
She was a founding member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Shrewsbury and was on the Altar Guild and a member of the Martha Mary Group. She served as an officer in the Shrewsbury Grange and was a member of the Mass. State Grange.

Richard D. Creelman
March 12, 1934 - January 25, 2006

Auburn - Richard D. Creelman, 71, of 4 Deerfield Circle and formerly of Holland and Sturbridge, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He leaves his wife of 48 years. Harriett (DelNegro) Creelman; two daughters, Kimberly White of Sturbridge and Tracie Gleason of Grafton; a son, Michael Creelman of Auburn; his mother, Dorothy (Ramsdell) Creelman of Auburn; two brothers, O. Warren Creelman of Auburn and David Creelman of Worcester; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers Howard and Robert Creelman.

Born in Worcester, son of the late Orland William Creelman, and was raised in Auburn. He graduated from Auburn High School. He then lived in Sturbridge for many years and later Holland, MA before returning to Auburn in 2000.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Creelman worked for the New England Telephone Company and later NYNEX in Worcester for 37 years, working in supervisory and management positions.

He was a former member of St. Anne's Parish in Sturbridge and served on the parish council, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. While living in Holland, Richard enjoyed boating and spending time with family and friends at his lake house.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, January 27th from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. His funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28th from the funeral home with a funeral Mass at 10 AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr., Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Crowley
July 6, 2006

Auburn - Elizabeth A. "Betty" Crowley, of Ridgewood Drive, died Thursday, July 6th, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester after an illness.
She is survived by her two brothers, Paul F. Crowley and his wife Alice of Paxton, and William C. Crowley of Bardonia, NY; a niece, a nephew and 3 grand nephews.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late John F. and Anna T. (Hines) Crowley. She graduated from the former High School of Commerce. She lived in Auburn for 41 years.
Miss Crowley retired from The Hartford Insurance Company where she had worked for many years. She also had worked for the family business, Crowley Electrical Co.

Gerald L. "Jerry" Cuddeback
May 30, 1948 - September 21, 2006

SPENCER - Gerald L. "Jerry" Cuddeback, 58, of Spencer, died Thursday, September 21st in St. Vincent Hospital after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 35 years, JoAnn (LaMonda) Cuddeback; a son, Trent D. Cuddeback and his wife, Jaime, of Worcester; a daughter, Jenna A. Cuddeback of Worcester; his mother and step-father, Luella M. (Bottom) Raymond and Donald Raymond of Auburn; a sister, Lorna Bricault of Auburn; also survived by one grandson, Ben Joseph Cuddeback; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cuddeback was born in Worcester, son of the late Lester G . Cuddeback and had lived for the past 32 years in Spencer. He graduated from Millbury High School and the Elizabeth Olis Beauty Academy in Worcester.

He began his career in the beauty industry at Rob Roy where he met his wife, JoAnn. He had worked for many years as a self employed Cosmetologist and Hair Stylist, and was the owner of Images Salon in Worcester. Jerry was a very hard working man, he also held a job at Flex-Com in Spencer for the past 14 years and found time in his busy schedule to be a Meditation Instructor.

Jerry had a special relationship in his life, that was with his longtime friend, singer and actress, Dionne Warwick. He met Dionne many years ago and they have kept in contact with each others families all these years. She would always make sure that if he was at one of her concerts or affairs that he was publicly addressed. He also had a very strange passion for riding roller coasters.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jerry's family on Tuesday, September 26th from 4-7 P.M. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 PM.

After cremation, burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jerry's memory can be made to Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Development Dept., 99 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02110.

THOMAS P. "TIM" CUMMINS
October 18, 1922 - June 15, 2007

AUBURN, MA - Thomas P. "Tim" Cummins, 84, of Clark St., died Friday, June 15th in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.

He leaves his beloved wife of 58 years, Shirley M. (Spahl) Cummins; his four children, James T. Cummins and his wife Suzanne of Burke, VA, Jane M. Johnston and her husband Richard of Holden, Christine C. Cash and her husband Richard of Franklin, and Timothy P. Cummins and his wife Lynn of Auburn; his five grandchildren, Michael, Casey, Nicholas, Kathryn, and Micah; his great granddaughter, Madison, as well as several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Joseph, John, and Peter Cummins.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Thomas A. and Catherine T. (Morgan) Cummins and was raised in Shrewsbury. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School and Boys Trade School, Worcester. Mr. Cummins was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II.

Mr. Cummins retired in 1985 from the UMass Medical Center, Worcester, where he worked as an electrician for 10 years. He previously worked as a union electrician for the I.B.E.W. in the Worcester area. Besides the union, Tim was a member of Saint Joseph's Parish, Auburn, the Victor Quaranta American Legion Post, Shrewsbury and the Shrewsbury Men's Club. He also was a member of the Greendale Retired Men's Club, Worcester. Sports were very important to Tim, and he spent many years as a coach and was the former president of the Auburn Little League. He also was a former member of the Auburn Pop Warner Football Association and the Auburn Hockey Association. He was and avid Boston sports team fan, especially the Red Sox.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday June 18th from 4-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. His funeral will be held on Tuesday from the funeral home with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
