Robert B. Jones
October 19, 1936 - January 26, 2007

WORCESTER, MA - Robert B. Jones, 70, of Dillon Heights, died Friday, January 26th at the home of his daughter.

He leaves his four children, Donna Roberts of Southbridge, Lisa Despin of Auburn, Diane Jones of Worcester, and Robert Jones of Auburn; his brother, Frank Jones of Worcester, his sister of Mary Frank of Illinois; his 12 grandchildren, Ted, Stephen, Paul, Jessica, Timmy, Will &Jacob; Roberts, Patrick & Stephanie Despin, Rebecca Lewis & Brooke Hedge, Mackenzie Jones; his two great grandsons, Benjamin & Aiden Roberts and several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Auburn, son of the late Burton and Mary (Callahan) Jones and has lived in Worcester for many years.

Mr. Jones retired from the Loss Prevention department of Filene's Basement Co., Auburn where he had worked for 15 years. He also worked in security for Simon Malls and the DCU Center. He previously worked as a truck driver for several area trucking firms, including Quinn Freight and Yellow Corp, He was an avid New York Yankee fan and enjoyed trains, especially Amtrack rides to Boston with his grandchildren. He collected cars and loved watching "Westerns".

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, January 30th from 4 -7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 31st at 10 AM in Saint Peter's Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Cremation will follow.

DAVID WILLIAM JORDALEN
October 21, 1953 - October 14, 2006

SHREWSBURY - David William Jordalen, 52, died at his home on October 14, 2006 in Shrewsbury. He was the loving son of William and Mary (Driscoll) Jordalen, of Shrewsbury, and brother of Susan D. Leary, of Jamaica Plain, Sally J. Lockwood, of Norfolk, VA and Nancy A. Queen of Cambridge, and Uncle to 6 nieces and nephews. David was the 1962 poster child of the National Association of Retarded Children.
Visiting hours will b held on Wednesday October 18, 2006 from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday October 19 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street Shrewsbury. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Friends of the Retarded, PO Box 225, Shrewsbury, MA 01545

Jean M. (Gallant) Josie
December 21, 1950 - July 24, 2006

SHREWSBURY - Jean M. (Gallant) Josie, 55, of Shrewsbury, died Monday, July 24th at her home with her family.

She leaves her husband of 31 years, Thomas R. Josie, II; two daughters, Tanya M. Josie of Shrewsbury and Kisha M. Josie of Nassau, Bahamas; a son, Thomas R. Josie III, and his fianc, Lauren J. M'Sadoques of Milford; two sisters, Sue Eaton of Port Richey, Florida and Linda McGrath of Baldwinville and a brother, Craig Gallant of Yorkville, New York; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Josie was born in Gardner, Massachusetts daughter of the late Laurie and Rita (Henry) Gallant and had lived in Shrewsbury for 22 years. She graduated from Gardner High School and received a degree in Dental Hygiene from Northeastern University in Boston.

Jean loved children and being around children was a great joy to her. Her passions to teach children lead her to a career as a Classroom Assistant at Spring Street School in Shrewsbury for 18 years. She also was the Regional and State Director of Destination Imagination for over 15 years.

She enjoyed cooking, especially for the holidays; Thanksgiving was her favorite time of the year where she could be surrounded by family and friends. Traveling was another favorite pastime to do with her husband and family.

Jean was a parishioner of Saint Mary's Parish in Shrewsbury.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jean's family on Wednesday, July 26th from 4-8 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 27th at 11:30 A.M. in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA. Burial will be private in Notre Dame cemetery in Gardner, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02115-6048 or to the Shrewsbury Special Needs Program, c/o Parks and Recreation Department, 100 Maple Avenue, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.

Zoran "Zoky" Jovic
December 28, 1949 - October 3, 2007

Auburn - Zoran "Zoki" Jovic, 57, of 12 Riethel Street, Auburn, a longtime Blow-Molder and accomplished artist, died Wednesday in St. Vincent's Hospital after an illness.
He is survived by his three loving children; Robert Z. Jovic, and Gina M. Jovic, both of Auburn, and Melanie Yovich, of Serbia, six grandchildren, and a cousin, Stephen Stoyanov, of Paxton.
He was born in the former Yugoslavia, the son of the late Zivota and (Mother's name and Maiden) Yovich, he was raised and educated in Europe and emigrated to the United States in (Year)
Zoki worked for many area plastics companies as both a Blow-Molder and in management capacities. He was a skilled artist in oil painting. He taught at the Worcester Art Museum. He was also an avid photographer, and most enjoyed taking pictures of his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. Auburn. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM in St. Spyridon's Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.

ALICE M. (YOUNG) KACAVICH
June 23, 1921 - October 9, 2007

AUBURN, MA - Alice M. (Young) Kacavich, 86, of Auburn, died Tuesday, October 9th in Dodge Park Rest Home in Worcester after an illness.

Her husband, Michael J. Kacavich died in 1988. She is survived by two children, Patricia J. Kelley of Boxborough and William M. Kacavich and his wife, Katherine of Natick; six grandchildren, Jennifer L. Grandmaison, Erin M. Kelley, Timothy M. Kelley, Kevin J. Kacavich, Kaitlin M. Kacavich and Meaghan E. Kacavich; four great grandchildren, Zachary J. Nash, Ronnie M. Grandmaison, Adrian R. Kelley and Rachel M. Grandmaison; a sister, Lenore Thebodo of Leicester and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Ferrie and a brother, Robert Young.

Mrs. Kacavich was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John and Marion (Martel) Young and had lived in Auburn for 54 years before moving to Worcester 3 years ago.

Alice was a member of the First Congregational Church in Auburn.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Alice's family on Friday, October 12th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM following the calling hours. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Congregational Church, 128 Central Street, Auburn or to the Massachusetts Association of the Blind, 51 Harvard Street, Worcester, MA 01609.

Mary B. (Tomasunas) Kalis
November 14, 1908 - August 26, 2006

SHREWSBURY - Mary B. (Tomasunas) Kalis, 97, of Gage Lane, died Saturday, August 26th at home.

Her husband, Edward R. Kalis died in 1982.

She leaves her three sisters, Helen Sawyer of Worcester, Monica Thomson of Shrewsbury, and Frances Kay of Shrewsbury, with whom she lived. She is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and a sister.

She was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of the late Joseph and Petronella (Giedra) Tomasunas and has lived in Shrewsbury for more than 20 years.

Mrs. Kalis worked as an operator for the AT&T; Company in Worcester for many years.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 29th at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Family and friends will gather at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury from 9:30 -10:30 AM on Tuesday.

John Francis Keenan
October 23, 1928 - December 28, 2005

WORCESTER - John F. Keenan, 77, of 150 Holden Street, Worcester died Tuesday, December 27th in his home after an illness.

John leaves his wife of 30 years, Anne E. (Murphy) Keenan; 4 step-sons, Mark E. Cormier, David G. Cormier, Jay W. Cormier and Kevin J. Cormier all of Worcester; a brother, Kevin Keenan of Worcester, 3 sisters, Justine Brennan of Worcester, Constance Taylor and Gail Shean both of Florida; also survived by 7 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, John Shea, Joseph Keenan and a sister, Joan Marie Corbin.

Mr. Keenan was born in Worcester, son f the late Owen and Anne E. (Brennan) Keenan and had lived in Worcester all of his life. He had served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II.

John had worked for most of his life as a Master Pipe Fitter. His last employment of 20 years was with New England Plating in Worcester before he retired in 1998. He was a former member of Saint Peter's Parish in Worcester.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with John's family on Friday, December 30th from 6-8 P.M. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. John's funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 31st at 9:30 A.M. in Saint George's Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. John T. Kehoe
January 17, 1914 - October 16, 2006

SHREWSBURY - John T. Kehoe, 92, of Raymond Avenue, a retired Sergeant on the Shrewsbury Police Department, died peacefully Monday, October 16th in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

His wife of 56 years, Gertrude L. (Heath) Kehoe died in 2001. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Ann K. Dascoulias of Franklin, NH, who died in 2000.

He leaves his daughter, Jean MacDonald of Alameda, CA; his four grandchildren, Jason and Greg MacDonald, and Joyce and John Dascoulias. He also leaves two great grandchildren, Ian and Paige MacDonald.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late John L. and Catherine (Leland) Kehoe and was a life long Shrewsbury resident. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School, 1932, Worcester Academy, 1933 and The College of the Holy Cross, 1937. He also attended Boston University, Worcester State College, Framingham State College and Northeastern. He worked as a school teacher and coach for several years before entering the service.

He was a World War II veteran of the US Coast Guard, and served in the European Theater.

John was a member of the Shrewsbury Police Department for 32 years, retiring in 1973 as a Sergeant. Following his retirement, John worked as a substitute teacher in the Shrewsbury schools.

An avid athlete, John played semi-pro softball for the Merrill & Usher team in Worcester for several years. His greatest passion in sports was as an official. Well known in that role throughout New England, John officiated baseball, basketball, and football games. He was an honorary life member of the IAABO. He also served as a commissioner for the Midland League. He received awards from the National Football Foundation and the College Hall of Fame, was a member of the Shrewsbury High School Hall of Fame, and was honored by the IAABO for his contributions to the game of basketball.

He also liked to water and snow ski, enjoyed fishing and was an avid boater. He always enjoyed the seasons at his home on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, and traveling around the world. He was an active member of St. Mary's Parish, Shrewsbury, was an outstanding leader of the "Shrewsbury Friends", served on the Shrewsbury School Committee, and as a Town Meeting member since being instituted in Shrewsbury, and was a member of the Ray Stone American Legion Post.. He was also the first driver's education instructor in Shrewsbury. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., on Friday, October 20th from 4-7 PM. A funeral Mass celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 21st at 9:30 AM in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St, Framingham, MA or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 495 Old Connecticut Path, Suite 220, Framingham, MA 01701.

Marion F. (Fischer) Kelleher
October 14, 1921 - June 8, 2006

SHREWSBURY - Marion F. (Fischer) Kelleher, 84, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Hudson and Revere, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 8th in Beaumont Rehabilitation Skilled Nursing Center in Northborough.

Her husband, Charles P. Kelleher died in 1971. She leaves two daughters, Cheryl M. Mayo and her husband, Charles C. of Shrewsbury with whom she lived and Janet P. Kelleher of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey; a brother, Robert P. Fischer of Hyde Park, Vermont; a sister, Marie Sickles of Colorado Springs, CO; also survived by six grandchildren, Frances, Charles, Mary, Nathaniel, Courtney and Megan and two great grandchildren, Colin and Bryce.

Mrs. Kelleher was born in Boston, daughter of the late Vincenzo P. and Filomena (Pantuosco) Fischer and had lived in Revere and Hudson before moving to Shrewsbury in 1977. She had worked for several years at both The Bank of Boston and The Marlborough Hospital before she retired. She was a member of St. Anne's Parish in Shrewsbury.

Marion loved spending time with her grandchildren, she also had a special place in her heart for all animals, especially her own dogs.

Marion's family would like to thank all the angels of the Nursing Staff at the Beaumont Nursing Center in Northborough for all of the loving care that was given to their mother.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marion's family on Sunday, June 11th from 2-5 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 12th at 10 A.M. in Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to Saint Anne's Human Services, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.

James S. Kelley
November 17, 1916 - April 20, 2006

SHREWSBURY - James S. Kelley, 89, of Shrewsbury, died Thursday, April 20th in Shrewsbury Nursing Home after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Elaine L. (Pomerleau) Kelley; two daughters, Suzanne M. Chatten and her husband, Daniel F., of Shrewsbury and Theresa E. Paris and her husband John P., of Oakland, California; a brother, Joseph Kelley of Melrose and a sister, Sr. Marie John, SCN of Wakefield; also survived by 4 grandchildren, Erin, Stephen, and Kevin Chatten and Kelley Paris. He was predeceased by a brother, John Kelley and three sisters, Barbara Booth, Agnes Fahey and Margaret Kelley.

James was born in Boston, raised and educated in South Boston, son of the late John and Margaret (Connolly) Kelley. He was a Marine Corps combat veteran during W.W. II and fought on Okinawa. He had lived in Cambridge before moving to Shrewsbury 9 years ago.

James had worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 40 years before he retired in 1981. He was a life member of the Dorchester Yacht Club, avid gardener, and was a passionate New England Sports fan.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mr. Kelley's family on Sunday, April 23rd from 3-6 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 24th at 11:00 AM in Saint Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston, MA. Burial with military honors will follow in the family lot in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
