Rita M. (Bonoyer) Moroney
May 10, 1917 - February 19, 2006

Rita M. (Bonoyer) Moroney, wife of Thomas F. Moroney, Jr., died Wednesday, February 16th at the family home in Brewster. The Moroney's were longtime residents of Shrewsbury prior to moving to the Cape. Mrs. Moroney was the corporate clerk of the family truck body and bookmobile manufacturing business which is still operating in Worcester under the Moroney name and new ownership.

She leaves her husband of 68 years, and four children, Ellen Mowrey of Hubbardston, , MA; Marian "Marnie" Brennan and her husband, Tom of Anchorage, Alaska; Thomas F. Moroney, III of Liberty South Carolina; Robert Moroney and his wife, Nancy of East Falmouth, MA. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, a brother, Louis Bonoyer and his family of Pascoag, Rhode Island; sister in law, Teresa Merolli and her husband Louis, of Milford. Rita was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Marion (Bard) Bonoyer and two sisters.

Mrs. Moroney was a member of Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster. She operated a popular bed and breakfast out of her cape home for 12 years and was a distinguished gardener, seamstress and home decorator; however the family says no one holds a candle to Rita Moroney when it comes to love and service to her family and her adored and adoring spouse, children and grandchildren.

A funeral Mass for Rita will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 22nd at 11:30 in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. There are no calling hours. Burial will take place in the family lot in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 270 Communications Way, Hyannis, MA 02601.

Frederick C. Morris
February 27, 1940 - January 27, 2007

SHREWSBURY - Frederick C. Morris, 67, of 6 Winslow St., died Saturday, January 27th in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his wife of 31 years, Elaine (Charlton) Morris; his four children, Joseph C. Morris and his wife Mindy of Florida, Jennifer Pillsbury and her husband Mark of Grafton, Rhoda Hendrickson and Allison Morris, both of Shrewsbury; his four grandchildren, Summer, Corey and Julia Pillsbury and Jacob Morris. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Callista Laney Hendrickson.

He was born and raised in Auburn, son of the late Frederick J. and Hattie (Brown) Morris and has lived here for 30 years. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Morris retired from FIBA, in Westborough and now Millbury, where he worked as an engineer in Research and Development.

He was a member of Saint Mary's Parish, Shrewsbury where he had been an active youth minister in the CYC. He was a member of the Adelphi Council, Knights of Columbus in Shrewsbury. For the past 13 years, Mr. Morris was the Commander of the Ray Stone American Legion Post in Shrewsbury.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, January 29th from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury, to be followed by burial with Military Honors in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the UMass Memorial Hospice Program, P.O. Box 2795, Worcester, MA 01613-9938.

Anne Regina Morrissey
October 2, 1952 - December 16, 2005

Auburn - Anne R. Morrissey, 53, of 8 Waterman Rd., died peacefully at home after a short illness on Friday, December 16, 2005.

She leaves her father, Raymond J. Morrissey of Auburn; her sisters, Susan Pleines of Williamstown, MA, Patricia Carroll of Lunenburg; her brothers, Raymond G. Morrissey of Sterling and Kevin Morrissey of Frederick, MD; her aunt, Mary Matzelevich of Worcester, as well as her nephews Thomas and Michael Pleines, David and Evan Morrissey, James Carroll, and her nieces, Jennifer Carroll and Sydney Morrissey. Her mother, Helen A. Morrissey predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester and has lived in Auburn most of her life. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1971, and later the Slater Secretarial School, Worcester.

Anne worked as a secretary for the Paul Revere Insurance Company, Worcester, and later for the Worcester State Hospital and the Worcester City Hospital.

A devoted family member, Anne also spent many hours with the residents of the St. Mary's Nursing Home, Worcester. She also loved to read.

Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours

Adele A. (Zukowskas) Morton
December 4, 1916 - March 15, 2006

SHREWSBURY - Adele A. (Zukowskas) Morton, 91, formerly of Knollwood Dr., died Wednesday, March 15th in the Meadows of Leicester, after an illness.

Her husband, John O. Morton died in 1982.

She leaves her son James W. Morton and his wife Rose of Auburn and her two granddaughters, Tara and Denise Morton. She was predeceased by her brother and sister, Albert and Ann Zukowskas.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Simon and Ursula (Sakalauskiute) Zukowskas and had lived in Shrewsbury for more than 40 years before moving to Auburn and then Leicester for the past 5 years.

Mrs. Morton had worked Town Cleaners and the Hebert Candy Mansion, both in Shrewsbury.

Prior to moving, she was an active member of St. Mary's Parish in Shrewsbury and the Shrewsbury Woman's Club. She loved to garden.

Adele's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of The Meadows, especially Shirley and Gail.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, March 17th from 5-7 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 18th from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.

Lynne Marie (Lemieux) Moseley
June 9, 1959 - February 14, 2007

AUBURN, MA - Lynne M. (Lemieux) Moseley, 47 of Auburn, was called home by the lord on Wednesday February 14 2007.
She is preceded in death by her mother Joanne (Stapleton) Lemieux, and grandson Devon Tyler Banfill.
She is survived by; her father Edward H. Lemieux, Sr. of Auburn, her love and fiance, Wayne Shays Sr., of Auburn, 2 sons Christopher Banfill and wife Johanna, of Long Beach, CA, Shawn Banfill and girlfriend Melissa of Warren, 3 daughters Jamie Trevers and, Michelle Moseley of Auburn, Lynne Marie Moseley and boyfriend Chris, of Worcester, 6 grandchildren; Miranda, Andrew, Tyler, Kacy, Alexa, Crystal, 5 step children, Donald, Lynne Tammy, Chris, Wayne Jr., 8 step-grandchildren, Rosalynna, Gage, Rachel, Travis, Christopher Jr., Kyle, Kayla, and Cameron. She also leaves 3 brothers; Edward H."Skip" Lemieux Jr. his wife Tammy, of Auburn, Scott Lemieux, of Auburn, and Lenard Lemieux, and his wife Noelle, of Tewksbury, 1 sister Lori Vivlamore and her husband William of Worcester, as well as aunts uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be loved and missed by all. She loved being surrounded by her family and extended 16 in-laws, and their spouses through her fiance Wayne, -ALL were her family. She enjoyed family cook-outs and gatherings and attending antique car shows. Her heart, the size of Texas consumed her petite figure, and her smile was god's gift to us.
Visiting hours are from 5-8 PM Monday in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home Tuesday with a Masscat 10:00 AM in Saint Peter's Church, 929 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Donations may be made to the family fund; envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Ermioni (Hatzikoitsis) Moutoudis
August 4, 1933 - February 9, 2006

SHREWSBURY - Ermioni (Hazikoitsis) Moutoudis, 72, of Shrewsbury and formerly of Brockton, died Thursday, February 9, 2006 in the UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester after a brief illness.

Her husband, Ioannis D. Moutoudis died in 1985. She leaves her two sons, Dimitrios "Jim" Moutoudis and his wife Sheilah of Shrewsbury, with whom she lived and Evangelos Moutoudis and his wife Eleftheria "Ellie" of Southborough; her brother, George Hazikoitsis of Greece, and her three grandchildren, Ermine "Nonie", John and Demitra Moutoudis.

She was born in Gianni's, Greece, daughter of the late Evangelos ad Maria (Grekos) Hazikoitsis and moved to the United States in 1974. She lived in Brockton for 23 years before moving to Shrewsbury.

She worked as seamstress for many years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, February 10th from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be held on Saturday from the funeral home with a funeral service at 11 AM in Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, Corner of Cashman and Central Streets, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472 or to the American Cancer Society, 350 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01604.

George R. "Fritz" Mowry
February 5, 2007

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, went home to be with God on Monday, February 5, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. Raised in Shrewsbury, George graduated from Shrewsbury High School where he was active in many school activities and sports, and was captain of the Shrewsbury High School football team. He served in the United States Navy and is a Veteran of the Korean War. He had a successful automobile career, working at Duddie Ford in Westborough as General Manager for many years. He was a member of Ford Motor Company's Society of Professional Sales Managers, which was given to those Sales Managers that showed exemplary standards of professionalism. He also earned many other designations from Ford Motor Company during his career. George loved people and always went the extra mile for everyone. He loved his family more than life itself, loving everyone equally, and was always reaching out to lend a helping hand when needed. He was an active member of the Holden Hills Golf Club, and an avid golfer. He loved hunting, fishing, hiking and nature of all kinds. He loved gardening and the nurturing of his beautiful perennial gardens. He loved vacationing in Florida with his family.
He leaves his beloved wife and partner, Harriette, his daughter, Fay Lyn Mowry of Shrewsbury, his beloved daughter, Wendy Lydiard predeceased him in 2004, and his son in law Scott Lydiard of Rye, NH. He also leaves his constant companion and friend Bailey. Grandchildren, Kerrie and John Cutting, and the love of his life, their daughter, Olivia Nichole Cutting, Justin and Courtney Rutledge, Matthew Rutledge, Christopher Lydiard, Katelyn Rutledge, and Patrick Lydiard. He also leaves a sister, Waneta Dunne of Portsmouth, NH, and nieces and nephews, Bonnie and Andy Duzyk of Port Orange, FL, Wayne and Debbie Pearson of Edgewater, FL, Prudence Pearson of Longwood, FL, Maureen and Dave Kopper of Shrewsbury, Peter and Ann Fenlason of Barre, Nancy Perkins Ward of Westborough, and John Perkins of Westborough. A nephew Luther Pearson predeceased him. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church, Church Road, Shrewsbury, MA. There are no calling hours, and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA or to the Jimmy Fund.

Maureen (Dolan) Muntz
December 10, 1954 - June 22, 2006

SHREWSBURY - Maureen (Dolan) Muntz, 51, of Shrewsbury, owner of Little Beginnings Early Childhood Center, died Thursday, June 22nd, after a four year struggle with Lupus and Cancer.

Maureen leaves her husband of 30 years, Edgar Muntz, Jr., three daughters, Kerry (Muntz) Palumbo and her husband Brendan, Melissa Muntz and Kristin Muntz, and a son, David Muntz, all of whom were at her side when she passed peacefully on Thursday morning.

She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Guiney) Dolan, she attended school in Dorchester, Arlington and Boston before moving to Shrewsbury where she has been a resident for the past 28 years. She also leaves two sisters, Sheila (Dolan) Ryan and her husband Thomas of Bellingham, Karen (Dolan) Pihl and her husband Robert of Shrewsbury; a brother, Tim Dolan and his wife, Karen of Stoughton and many nieces and nephews. A life long lover of animals, Maureen also leaves three dogs, her pals Sam, Stu, and Ralph.

Maureen devoted her early family years to raising her children. When her youngest child entered high school, Maureen began a career in early childhood education, opening her first childcare center, Little Beginnings, on Beverly Road in Shrewsbury in 1997. Eventually outgrowing the facility, she coordinated the design and construction of a new school on Floral Street in 2004, where she continued to play a major role in day to day operations until the time of her death. Spending time with children brought her great joy, but her greatest happiness was the involvement of her four children in the operation of the school.

Known for her quick wit and sense of humor, she held great value for the simple, real pleasures of life. Her down to earth attitude allowed her to take as much pleasure out of a night around the campfire as she did in a four star hotel in Boston, a city she loved all her life. Maureen was the type of person who would turn down a night on the town for a night in the family, a four course meal for a Hershey bar and a cup of tea. She was a member of Saint Mary's Parish and will be sadly missed by all of who knew her.

Relatives and friends may visit with Maureen's family on Monday, June 26th from 4-8 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 27th at 10 A.M. in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Entombment will take place in Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester. Memorial donations in Maureen's name can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101, an organization Maureen supported all o her life.

Johanna Esther Murphy
Newport, OR - Johanna Esther Murphy, formerly of Shrewsbury, a retired secretary, died March 10, 2007, at her home in Newport, Ore. She was 87.

Born in Geneseo, N.Y., she was a graduate of Briarcliff High School and Packard Business School in New York City and also attended Columbia University. She worked as a secretary at the New York Journal-American newspaper.

She married Vincent F. Murphy on Aug. 21, 1943, at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York. They moved to Worcester, Mass., in 1945 and settled in Shrewsbury.

Mrs. Murphy was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Shrewsbury and the Worcester Club. She worked on the Assumption College Reconstruction Drive following the 1953 tornado while she was a student there studying French with Fr. Desautels.

Mrs. Murphy returned to secretarial work in 1972 and became an assistant office manager at National Envelope before her retirement in 1989. In 2003, she moved to Newport, to be near family.

Wife of the late Vincent F., Mrs. Murphy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen Murphy and Jay Hahn, and grandson William Hahn of Newport, Ore.; granddaughter and spouse, Erin Bradley and Eric Beato, and great-granddaughter Carolyn Beato of Quincy, Mass.; and her sister, Margaret DiGiacomo of Beacon, N.Y. She also was preceded in death by her son, John of Worcester, Mass.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury on Friday, March 23rd from 4-7 PM. The family suggests memorial contributions to SPCH Hospice, P.O. Box 945, Newport, OR 97365.

William J. "Red" Nadeau
January 28, 1921 - December 16, 2005

Auburn - William J. "Red" Nadeau, 84, of Clarendon Rd., died Friday, December 16th in the Radius Healthcare Center, Millbury after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 59 years, Katherine M. (Anas) Nadeau; his three sons, William R. Nadeau of North Oxford, Philip J. Nadeau of Worcester and Timothy P. Nadeau of Leicester; three grandchildren, Erin, Chris and Lyndsey Nadeau as well as several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by all of his younger siblings, Robert Nadeau, Barbara Donahue, Shirley Nadeau and Phyllis Bousquet.

He was born and raised in Worcester, a son of the late William R. and Rose M. (Poutre) Nadeau. He grew up in Main South area of Worcester and graduated from South High School. He entered the Army in 1942 and served as an aircraft mechanic with the 47th Air Depot group of the Air Corps during World War II in Asiatic Pacific Theater, and was discharged as a Master Sergeant.

Following the war, Mr. Nadeau worked in steel manufacturing and then co-owned Cambridge Tydol Gas for 10 years. He then worked as an insurance broker for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., retiring 1981. He reached many sales achievements and qualified for several company awards, including the Presidents Club in 1960. He also played semi-pro softball as a pitcher in the Worcester area when he was young.

He was a life member and past commander of the Chester P. Tuttle American Post 279 in Auburn and the AARP. He enjoyed reading and writing, having contributed to several publications through the years. He also loved to tinker around home and built several additions to the family home.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, September 20th from 6-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A prayer service will be held at 7 PM. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21st at 9 AM from the funeral home with a service at 10 AM in St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 53 Salisbury St., Worcester. Burial with military honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

Stella Napoli
January 25, 2008

AUBURN, MA - Stella T. Napoli, 91, of Loring Street, a homemaker, died peacefully at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Auburn on January 25, 2008
Her husband of 38 years, Joseph A. Napoli predeceased her in 1977. She was also predeceased by her daughter Jane (Napoli) Rzeppi in 2007.
She leaves a daughter Carol M. Murray of Enfield, CT., and a daughter Lois B. Wilbur and her husband Dwight G. Wilbur of Auburn, a brother Walter Kowalik of Clinton, and two sisters; Jennie Loomis of Sacramento, CA and Agnes Pyko of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice Minicucci and Helen Bedard and her brother Chester Kowalik. Other members of her family include 7 grandchildren; Edward, Michael and Donald of Andover, Stella of Enfield, CT, Joseph of Norway, Jayson of Sturbridge, and Ryan of Ireland, and 10 great grandchildren; Amanda, Megan, Joshua, Ella, Elisabeth, David, Faith, Matthew, Owen and Luke.
She was an avid reader, and an immaculate housekeeper. Stella was born in Ansonia, CT, the daughter of the late Stanley and Stephanie (Witkowski) Kowalik. She moved to Clinton, and lived there until her marriage in 1938. She lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Auburn, where she has been a resident for the last 21 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday morning from 10:30 AM 11:45 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A celebration of Stella's life will follow at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to VNA Care Network, Inc., 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608
