Katherine E. (McClintock) Rokes
February 14, 1911 - October 30, 2006

NORTH CHATHAM / SHREWSBURY - Katherine E. (McClintock) Rokes, 95, of North Chatham formerly of Shrewsbury died Monday, October 30th in Liberty Commons Nursing Home in North Chatham after an illness.

Her husband, Maurice A. Rokes died in 1985. She leaves two sons, David A. Rokes of Port Charlotte, Florida and C. Brian Rokes and his wife, Eleanor of Hopewell Junction, New York; three daughters, Gretchen J. Scanlon and her husband John of Shrewsbury, Carla Costanzo and her husband, Gerald of Harwich and Linda Burnell and her husband, Glenn of Englewood. New Jersey; a sister Marion Bonazoni of North Chatham; also survived by three grandchildren, Jerry Rokes of Montpelier, VT, Michael Costanzo of Berkeley, California and Lizabeth Porcari of Boston, MA and one great grandson, Kevin Rokes of Montpelier, Vermont. She was predeceased by one brother and one sister.

Katherine was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts daughter of the late Edwin and Isabelle (McLeod) McClintock. Katherine grew up in Natick and graduated from Natick High School. She later had lived in Wellesley, Sebastian, Florida and Shrewsbury before moving to North Chatham in 2005.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Katherine's family on Thursday, November 2nd from 6-8 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral service will take place on Friday, November 3rd at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Dell Park Cemetery, Natick.

DIANE F. (FOSTER) DAVIS ROSE
May 3, 1950 - August 28, 2007

WORCESTER - Diane F. (Foster) Davis Rose, 57, of Worcester, formerly of California and Northborough, died Tuesday, August 28, in the Town & Country Nursing Center, Lowell.

She leaves her two daughters, Brenda L. Demers of Upton, and Debra A. Davis of Grass Valley, CA; her mother, Lorraine H. (Mellor) Foster of Worcester; her two brothers, Michael Fusco of Arizona, and Charles Foster of South Carolina; her sister, Darlene Foster of Lowell; her four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, James J. Foster., Sr. of Shrewsbury on July 16th.

She was born and raised in Worcester daughter of the late Charles Foster, Jr. and lived many years in California and Northborough.

A longtime floral designer, was the co-owner of Flowers by Richard in Northborough for several years, and later continued her designing in California.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Diane's family during visiting hours on Thursday, August 30th from 6-8 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. A service celebrating her life will follow at 8 PM.

BRYAN T. ROSSIK
June 2, 1989 - April 20, 2007

LEICESTER - Bryan T. Rossik, 17, of Leicester died Friday, April 20th from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He leaves his parents Joseph M. Rossik, Jr. and Cheryl L. (Cove) Rossik, of Leicester; his two brothers who looked up to him, Patrick S. and Nicholas S. Rossik, both at home; his best friend, Colin Reed of Worcester; his maternal grandmother, Rose J. Cove of Leicester; his maternal grandfather Michael J. Cove and his wife, Roberta of Lake Placid, Florida; his paternal grandmother, Margaret M. Rossik of Auburn; his paternal great-grandmother, Madeline Fredrikson and her husband, Schuyler of Worcester; his aunts, Lisa Deviney of Oxford, Gayle Prest and her husband, John of Leicester, Trisha Pignataro and her husband, Frank of Shrewsbury, and Paula Rossik of Auburn. He also leaves many cousins and many great friends. His grandfather, Joseph M. Rossik, passed away in 2001.

Bryan was a senior at St. John's High School in Shrewsbury. While there, he played football for 3 years, was a member of the National Honor Society, and made many friendships that he cherished. He had played town baseball, T-ball through senior league. Bryan was a volunteer at Saint Vincent Hospital - Worcester Medical Center in Worcester. He had worked at Park'N'Shop in Auburn for the past two years. Bryan was to attend Assumption College in the fall.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 24th from 3 PM to 7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A service celebrating Bryan's life will be held on Wednesday, April 25th at 11 AM in Greenville Baptist Church, 674 Pleasant St, Leicester. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester.

Ann Marie (Lynch) Roukat
June 8, 1931 - August 14, 2007

AUBURN, MA - Ann M. (Lynch) Roukat, 76, of Oxford Street South, died Tuesday August 14th in Saint Vincent Hospital after being stricken ill at home.

She leaves her husband of 51 years, Francis J. Roukat; her three daughters, Sandra M. Roukat of Auburn and her companion Al Marando, Brenda A. Desmond of Reno, NV, and Linda M. Howarth and her husband Jeffrey of Charlton; her brother, John F. "Jack" Lynch of Auburn; her sister, Patricia M. Brown and her husband Jack of Worcester; her brother-in-law, Robert Sutherland; her two grandchildren, Stacey A. and Neil F. Howarth; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Eileen Cronin and Mary T. "Bunnie" Sutherland. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Cornelius and Mary B. (Scannell) Lynch and has lived in Auburn for many years. She graduated from Accession High School and the Salter School, both in Worcester.

Mrs. Roukat worked as a secretary for the former Worcester Pressed Aluminum Co., Worcester prior to her retirement. She was a member of Saint Joseph Parish in Auburn, enjoyed the ocean, especially Hampton Beach, loved the Boston sports teams and cherished her two grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, August 17th from 5-8 PM in Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, August 18th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 AM in Saint Joseph Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester.

Margaret F. "Marge" Roy
October 6, 1934 - April 19, 2007

SHREWSBURY - Margaret F "Marge" Roy, 73, passed away Thursday April 19th surrounded by her family. She leaves a loving daughter Michele of Worcester, and her sister, Mary Chase of Danielson CT. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard "Joe" Roy of Worcester, MA. She was born in Wauregan, CT, a daughter of Eleanor (Egan) and Chester Caouette.

Marge was a sales associate at Putnam's Hallmark in Shrewsbury for 12 years until retirement a few years ago. She was a member of the Shrewsbury Music Association and also belonged to St. Anne's' Church in Shrewsbury. Marge will be sadly missed, but never forgotten by all that knew and loved her. She was one to always reach out to people by sending cards, making gifts and always recognizing special occasions.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, April 23rd from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

Julia C. (Seaver) Lovely Rubin
June 20, 1940 - July 8, 2006

WORCESTER - Julia C. (Seaver) Lovely Rubin, 66, of Millbury, formerly of Worcester passed away Saturday at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, after a long illness.
She is survived by her children; Mark Lovely, of N. Brookfield, Michael Lovely, and his wife Kelly, of Charlton, Robert Lovely of Worcester, Denise Javery and her Wife Tracy, of Rochdale, and 7 grandchildren. She also leaves 2 brothers Andrew and Edward Seaver, and one sister Dorothy Cloutier all of Worcester.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Andrew and Ruth (Taylor) Seaver, she was educated in Worcester Schools. She is a graduate of David Hale Fanning High School.
Julia was a caring and loving person; she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid crafter; she enjoyed painting, playing cards, and summering at Hampton Beach.

Richard G. "Eric" Ruperti
May 17, 2007

WORCESTER - Richard G. "Eric" Ruperti, 26, Worcester and formerly of Connecticut, died Thursday, May 17th after a year long courageous battle with cancer.

He leaves his loving and caring fiance, Kimberly O'Neill of Worcester; his mother, Juanita Jewett, and a sister, Carol Ruperti both of Connecticut; his grandparents, aunts, uncles and a nephew. His extended family included his "mother-in-law", Debra O'Neill; his "father-in-law" John O'Neill, and his close friend, Lee Moody.

Eric loved to go fishing, helping out at Debba's Country Kitchen in Rochdale, going to the park and the beach, and most enjoyed just out riding around. His many friends admired his loving, caring, strong personality, and his courage was immeasurable. He will be missed by so many.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Eric's family at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn on Monday from 4-6:30 PM.

EDWIN M. RYAN
February 4, 1919 - April 7, 2007

Edwin M. Ryan passed away on April 7, 2007 at the age of 88. Edwin was born and raised in Worcester, MA and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an aerospace engineer. After his service, he joined Piasecki Helicopter Corporation in Philadelphia, PA, where he helped design one of the first helicopters for the Navy. He continued to support Naval Aviation as a mechanical engineer for the Department of the Navy at the Bureau of Aeronautics, and later, at the Naval Air Systems Command.

He was the devoted father of Susan Ryan Dornan, Edwin M. Ryan, Jr., Mimi Ryan Jones, and Anne Ryan. He is also survived by five grandchildren. Edwin was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Jane, and his brother, Gerald D. Ryan. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 18, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Ext., Charlton. A Christian Burial will immediately follow at St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Capitol Hospice, 4715 N. 15th St. Arlington, VA 22205.

Olive G. (Davis) Salamo
December 31, 1921 - March 6, 2006

Auburn, Olive G. (Davis) Salamo, 84, of Stoneville Heights, a retired Elderly Out Reach Worker for the South Worcester Neighborhood Center, died peacefully, Monday, March 6, in Hermitage Nursing Home after a long illness.
Her husband of 37 years, Andrew J. Salamo, died in 1982. She leaves two daughters, Janet Salamo of Worcester and Kathy Salamo of Auburn, and several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Andrew B. and Clara E. (Rice) Davis of Oxford. She lived in Worcester and Auburn most of her life.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 11 at St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.

Edward Myron Sampson
December 4, 1926 - December 19, 2006

NORTH OXFORD - Edward M. Sampson, 80, of 34 Chestnut Hill Rd., passed away peacefully after an extended illness.

His wife of 51 years, Nancy J. (Gruber) died in December 2003.

He leaves his four children, Stephen J. Sampson of Boston, Judy A. Sampson of North Oxford, Lisa J, wife of Kevin Ratcliffe of Holden, and David B. Sampson and his wife Kathleen of Sutton. He also leaves his five grandchildren, Katie, Elizabeth, Brian, Eric, and Matthew; his brother Thomas Sampson of Townsend. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Cushman and his brother, William Sampson.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Myron and Janet (Schouler) Sampson. He graduated from the South High School in 1945. He served in the US Army Air Corps in World War II.

Mr. Sampson retired from Wyman-Gordon of Grafton in 1986 as a heat treat foreman.

He was active in several community organizations. He was a past president of the Oxford Little League, played in the Oxford Pitch League, the Jack Barry Softball League, was a member of the Greendale Retired Men's Club, and was an avid golfer and Boston sports fan.

He was an active member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Auburn, serving on many committees and singing with the Men of Bethel and the Bethel Choir.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, December 22nd from 6-8 PM in Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 23rd at 9:30 AM in the Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Ave., Auburn. Following cremation, burial will be private.

ELSIE B. SANBORN
July 23, 1908 - April 26, 2007

Shrewsbury - Elsie B. (Howard) Sanborn died in Worcester on April 26, 2007 at the age of 98. She leaves her son Ron Sanborn of Shrewsbury, 5 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held privately in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.

H. Virginia (Carlstrom) Sandstrom
November 6, 1921 - February 9, 2007

AUBURN, MA - H. Virginia "Ginny" (Carlstrom) Sandstrom, 85, of Barbara Avenue, died Friday, February 9th in the Life Care Center of Auburn.

She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Marie L. and Preston J. Sturdevant, III with whom she lived; a sister, Margaret E. Ullstrom of Worcester; her two grandchildren, Christine M. and Robert P. Sturdevant of Auburn, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Paul L. Sandstrom in 1967, her brother, Elof L. "Spike" Carlstrom and her former husband, Sven L. Sandstrom in 1987.

She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Axel W. and Louisa M. (Lundgren) Carlstrom and lived many years in Worcester before moving to Auburn in 1988. She graduated from Commerce High School and later attended business school.

Mrs. Sandstrom worked for many years as an administrative assistant in the office of the Worcester City Manager. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Worcester and recently attended Bethel Lutheran Church, Auburn. "Mormor" as she was affectionately called, most enjoyed the time she was able to spend watching her grandchildren grow up around her. Family was so important to her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, February 13th from 4-7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 14th at 11 AM in Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Ave, Auburn, followed by burial in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester.

AUDREY MARIE SANTO
December 19, 1983 - April 14, 2007

WORCESTER - Audrey Marie Santo, age 23, passed into eternal life early Saturday April 14, 2007. Audrey died peacefully at her home in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her family and several members of clergy were with her at the time of her passing. Audrey is survived by her Mother, Linda; and her siblings: Jennifer, Matthew, and Stephen. Cause of death was cardio-respiratory failure.

Calling hours are scheduled for 4pm to 8pm, on Tuesday, April 17th at St. Paul's Cathedral located at 15 Chatham Street, Worcester, MA 01609. A Vigil for the deceased will be held from 7PM to 8PM at the Cathedral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Audrey on Wednesday, April 18th at 10AM at St. Paul's Cathedral. Bishop Robert McManus, Bishop of Worcester will be presiding. Private burial will follow family only. The public is welcome to attend the vigil and funeral Mass.

BARBARA L. (LEARD) SANTON

SHREWSBURY - Barbara L. (Leard) Santon, of 626 Main Street, Shrewsbury, formerly of Princeton died unexpectedly Saturday, April 29th in her home.

Her husband, Elliott F. Santon died in 1976. She leaves one son, David E. Santon and his wife, Jane of Shrewsbury; a brother, Kenneth V. Leard of Vermont; two grandson, Brian D. and Mark J. Santon both of Shrewsbury and a great grandson, Dylan C. Santon; also survived by several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Vivian M. Seavey.

Mrs. Santon was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Houston) Leard and had lived many in Princeton and Worcester before moving to Shrewsbury a few years ago. She graduated from Commerce High School.

Barbara had been employed for over 15 years as the Bookkeeper for Britton Funeral Homes, Inc. of Auburn and Shrewsbury. She previously had worked for Patrick Motors and for the Town of Princeton as the Town Treasurer in 1960's.

She was a proud member of the Fist Congregational Church in Shrewsbury where she was very active on numerous committees's and at one time served as the Superintendent of the Sunday School there. Barbara had such a passion for history, she began working part time for the Worcester Historical Society, which lead her to the Worcester Art Museum and later to the Salisbury Mansion for many years.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Barbara's family on Tuesday, May 2nd from 4-7 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 3rd at 10 A.M. in the First Congregational Church, 19 Church Road, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in the family lot in Woodlawn Cemetery, Princeton. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the Memorial Fund at the First Congregational Church, 19 Church Road, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
