Paul K. Doran
May 22, 2003

Paul K. Doran 66 husband of Jean E. (Rasmussen) Doran died Wednesday evening at home after a brief illness. Born in Boston a son of the late William E. and Elizabeth R. (Slattery) Doran he grew up in the Fields Corner section of Dorchester moving to Randolph where he lived before moving to Easton 14 years ago.

Paul was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School in Boston. He was a Central Office Repairman for Nynex and Verizon Telephone Company for 39 years before his retirement. Paul was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a member of the Randolph Lodge of Elks BPOE #2130 where he was secretary for 26 years and he was an honorary member of the Amvets Post 51 in Randolph while serving with the Drum Corps for 10 years.

In addition to his wife Jean he leaves a son William E. Doran of Marbletown, NY and a daughter Karen McHugh of Mansfield, 8 grandchildren Shotzie Doran, Charlott Bastian, Shelly Doran, Charise Doran, Paul J. Doran, Sarah McHugh, Jason McHugh and Alicyn McHugh, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late William E. Doran Jr BPD and Jean Queally.

His funeral will be held Monday May 26 at 9 AM from the George L. Copeland & Son Funeral Home 38 Center St. Easton followed by a mass of Christian burial in Holy Cross Church, Easton at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 PM. After cremation interment will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield. In place of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of Greater Brockton 500 Belmont St. Brockton, Ma. 02301.

Eleanor P. (Euscher) Sproul
September 08, 2003

Eleanor P. (Euscher) Sproul 80 wife of the late David H. Sproul died Monday at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston from injuries suffered in a fall at her home. Born in Dedham a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen W. (Therio) Euscher she grew up in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Jamaica Plain High School, she was a resident of Easton the past 47 years.

She was employed as an administrative assistant at the Food Research Center at Stonehill College in Easton for many years before going to Walker-Clay Advertising in Hanson as a producer until her retirement.

Eleanor was an active member of the Covenant Congregational Church in Easton having served as a deaconess, a member of the Choir and the Friendship Club. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and traveling.

She leaves a Son David H. Sproul Jr and his wife Dianne and a daughter Jane E. S. Hayes and her husband David both of Easton a brother Robert Euscher of Brockton 5 grandchildren Lindsay A. and Kimberly E. Sproul, Ian T. Sines, Laura Jane and Mandi E. Hayes.

Her funeral will be held Friday Sept. 12 at 10 AM in the Covenant Congregational Church, Easton. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours in the Delmar E. Peterson Chapel at the church Thursday 5-8 PM. Interment will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In place of flowers donations may be made to the Covenant Congregational Church Memorial Fund 204 Center St. No. Easton, Ma. 02356.

Stanley T. Burak
September 26, 2003

Stanley Thomas Burak 72 husband of Ethel M. (Stone) Burak who were married for 50 years this past May, died Saturday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a long illness. Born in Chelsea a son of the late John and Julia (Wolocko) Burak he was alongtime resident of Salem before moving to Easton in 1966.

Stan was a graduate of St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers in 1948. He enrolled at Northeastern University to persue a course in mechanical engineering and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1957. He was a U S Army veteran of the Korean War.

His professional career included positions at Raytheon, Honeywell, Nashua Corporation and the Foxboro Company, from which he retired in 1966 after 35 years of service.

Stan was widely traveled, and had the opportunity to visit Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean. He was particularly pleased to have visited Poland the land of his heritage.

In his earlier years, Stan was active as an adult volunteer with the Boy Scouts, and enjoyed bowling, square dancing, bridge, chess and golf.

In addition to his wife he leaves 3 children Linda Gretton of Greensboro, NC, Kevin Burak of Easton and Brenda McGinn of Trumbull, CT, 2 sisters Josephine Oliphant of Peabody and Mary Stafford of Danvers a brother Anthony Burak of Beverly and 6 grandchildren Brian and Jeffrey O'Neill, Matthew and Mary Burak and Ryan and Elizabeth McGinn. He was father of the late Karen O'Neill.

His funeral will be held Friday Oct. 3 at 10 AM in the George L. Copeland & Son Funeral Home 38 Center St. Easton. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 PM. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, Ma. In place of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Assoc. 1 Abbey Lane Middleboro, Ma. 02346.

Pauline M. LeFabvre

...formerly with N.J. Paris Bus Company; 70

TEWKSBURY - Pauline M. (Paris) LeFebvre, age 70, died Saturday evening, Mar. 13, at the Fairhaven Nursing Care Center in Lowell after a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Joseph A. LeFebvre, with whom she would have celebrated a 23rd wedding anniversary this July 20th.

She was born in Tewksbury, Sept. 1, 1933, a daughter of the late Holmer E. and Elizabeth (Dubuque) Paris. She was a lifelong resident of Tewksbury, and was a graduate of Tewksbury High School.

She was co-manager of the N.J. Paris Bus Company, and was also a lifelong affiliate of Paris’ Garage, both of which were located on Main Street in Tewksbury.

She was a communicant of St. William’s Church and was also past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Tewksbury.

Besides her husband, she is survived by several cousins in the greater Lowell area.

She was also sister of the late N.J. “Paul” Paris, who died in 1986.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Mar. 17, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, E. Chelmsford.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, will be appreciated.

Ronald C. Olson Jr.

...Clark Univ. Senior, from Tewksbury; 22

TEWKSBURY - Ronald C. Olson Jr., age 22, a senior at Clark University in Worcester, died early Sunday morning, Mar. 14, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Lowell.

He was born in Winchester, Jan. 13, 1982, a son of Jean R. (Sears) and Ronald C Olson Sr of Tewksbury.

He was a lifelong resident of Tewksbury. He graduated from T.M.H.S. with the Class of 2000. In high school he was active in baseball, hockey, track and cross country. He matriculated to Clark University in Worcester and was in his senior year as a history major. He played baseball for Clark. He was an avid sports fan who would “Cowboy Up” for all Boston sports teams and was and avid wrestling fan. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Woburn.

Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Neil J. and Kathryn (Engel) Olson of Hopkins, MN, Alexander W. and Sheree (Ryan) MacNeil of Goffstown, NH, Jeffrey M. and Megan (Sampson) Olson of Wakefield, MA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa and Bryan Ouellette of Derry, NH, Corrine and David Chaput of Mt. Vernon, NH; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Leona (Grant) Sears of Woburn; an aunt and uncle, David and Nicole Olson of Port st. Lucie, FL; and eight nieces and nephews.

His funeral is Thursday, Mar. 18, 11 AM, in the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 60 Forest Park Rd., Woburn.

Visiting hours Wednesday 4 to 8 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of Dewey and Main Sts. (Rte 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, phone (800 or 978) 851 2950.

Burial in Tewksbury Cemetery.

Lewis Tremblay

....lifelong resident of Tewksbury, 82

TEWKSBURY - Lewis Tremblay, a former Town Treasurer, businessman, and member of many fraternal organizations, died Monday, Mar. 15, after a long period of declining health. He was the husband of Theresa R. (Dupre) Tremblay, with whom he would have celebrated a 55th wedding anniversary on May 31st.

He was born in Lowell, Aug. 4, 1921, a son of the late Arthur and Alma (Harrison) Tremblay. He was a lifelong town resident who attended Immaculate Conception Grammar School in Lowell and graduated Tewksbury High School, with the Class of 1939.

Upon graduation from H.S., he joined the Coast Guard and served at Salem Air Station and aboard the USCG Tahoe out of New Bedford, MA. He was sent to Radio School at Fort Trumbull in New London, Ct. He was stationed on the USCG Ingham which took him to Portugal for six months and then convoy duty in Greenland, Iceland and Ireland. He was trained at MIT and then helped man the first LORAN station in Greenland for 18 months. He was promoted to chief radio technician in August of 1943. He returned stateside to the Groton training station as an instructor until his honorable discharge in 1945.

Returning to Tewksbury, he went into business with his father and brother at the Tremblay Package Store and P & L Laundromat. Later he formed the Tremblay Ice Vending Company in Tewksbury.

In 1965 he was elected Assessor for the Town of Tewksbury. He became the 26th in the state to attain the title of Certified Mass Assessor in 1972. He served as vice president of the Middlesex County Assessors Association. In 1979 he was elected Town Treasurer/Tax Collector. He retired in 1987 and was recognized for 24 years of outstanding service to the Town of Tewksbury.

Throughout his life he remained active in civic and fraternal organizations. He served as the first vice president of the Massachusetts Package Store Association. Over the years, he served as president of the Rotary Club of Tewksbury, was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the Lowell Lodge of Elks, the Fr. Coppen’s Council, Knights of Columbus in Tewksbury and the Longmeadow Golf Club. He was also an incorporator of the Tewksbury Veterans Association. Most recently, he served as President of the Village of Loon Mountain Time Share Association in Lincoln, N.H., where he was an active board member until the time of his death.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters and their spouses, Denise and her husband Paul Lamoureux of Assonet, MA, Celeste Campbell of Chelmsford, Michele and her husband Frank Marino of Tewksbury, Anne and her husband John Moriarty of Tyngsboro; fourteen grandchildren, Monique and her husband David Kobasa, Michael, Brian and David Lamoureux, Brianne, Brooke, and Brett Campbell, Justin, Nicole, Christine and Neil Marino, Tom, Kasie and Kara Moriarty; one sister and brother-in-law, Marguerite and Jim King of Goffstown, NH; a brother-in-law, Gerard Dupre of Tewksbury; a sister-in-law, Beverly Tremblay of Nashua, NH; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters, Rita Quinn and Martha Keville; and brother, Paul Tremblay.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Mar. 19, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Burial with U.S.C.G. Honors was at Tewksbury Cemetery.

Memorials to the Oblate Father’s Infirmary Fund, P.O. Box 419, Tewksbury, MA 01876 will be appreciated.

Edward D. MacDonald

...U.S.M.C. Veteran of WW2 and Korean War; 75

TEWKSBURY - Edward D. MacDonald, age 75, a USMC Veteran of two wars, died Thursday, Mar. 18, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Roxbury, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Booth)(Mackey) MacDonald, with whom he would have celebrated a 27th wedding anniversary on June 17th.

He was born in Brighton, June 17, 1928, a son of the late Daniel E. and Alice (Hillier) MacDonald. He was raised in Brighton and graduated from St. Columbkille High School in Brighton.

He enlisted into the USMC, and served in the Asiatic Pacific, China Theaters during WW2. Later he served in the European and Mediterranean Theaters during the Korean War.

He was employed as a meat cutter at DeMoulas/Market Basket and later at Tewksbury Hospital.

He was also a member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge # 2070.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and his wife Colleen MacDonald of PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and her husband Dewey Mann of Salisbury Beach, NH; six step children, James Mackey of NV, Robert and his wife Debra Mackey of Hudson, NH, Michael and his wife Debra Mackey of Methuen, Diane Mackey of Lowell, Donna Mackey of Tewksbury, Maureen Mackey of Lowell; two brothers, Robert MacDonald of Lowell, Richard MacDonald and his wife Karen of Bow, NH; a sister, Helen MacDonald of Framingham; 14 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Mar. 22, St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Following cremation, private burial was in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Roland C. “Clayt” Audette

...former Property Administrator at Avco; 82

TEWKSBURY - Roland C. “Clayt” Audette, age 82, a former Manager for Avco, died Thursday afternoon, Mar. 18, at his Tewksbury home, following a courageous 6 month battle with cancer. He was the husband of Bernice M. (Allen) Audette, who died Aug. 9, 1998.

He was born in Burlington, Vermont, Nov. 18, 1921, a son of the late Alphonse and Mary (LeBlanc) Audette. He received his education in the Burlington school system, and moved to Milford, Conn. where he met his wife. He lived in Tewksbury from 1957 to 1987, and returned to Tewksbury in 1997 after living in Maddison, NH, for ten years.

Mr. Audette was a retired property administrator for Avco/Textron in Wilmington, and later worked for Northrop Company as a property administrator in Norwood, Mass. In his earlier years, he was bartender at the former Anchor Restaurant in Tewksbury, known to his patrons as “Lefty.”

Mr. Audette was a communicant of St. William’s Church, a former singer for the St. William’s Minstrel Shows, and a past member of the Tewksbury Redmen Club.

He is survived by six children and their spouses, Roland Jr., and his wife Carol (D’Allessandro) of Maddison, NH, Dennis and his wife Dorothy (Brennan) of Tewksbury, with whom he made his home, Scott and his wife Karen (Klimarchuk) of Wilmington, Patricia and her husband Glen Taylor of Manchester, NH, Tracy Audette of Bradenton, FL, Alicia and her husband John Lovering of Laconia, NH; sixteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and a dear friend, Evelyn Larry of Clearwater, FL.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Mar. 22, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Interment was in St. Mary’s cemetery, No. Tewksbury.

Ruth M. Newcomb

...formerly of Andover; Western Electric; 85

TEWKSBURY - Ruth M. Newcomb, 85, a longtime Andover resident, died Friday afternoon, March 19, at the Life Care Center in North Billerica. She was the wife of the late George H. Newcomb, who died in 1981.

She was born in Andover, Sept. 21, 1918, a daughter of the late William and Anna (Wilcox) Webb. She was raised in Andover and attended Essex Agricultural High School in Topsfield. She lived the greater part of her life in the Ballardvale section of Andover, before moving to Tewksbury 27 years ago.

She was retired from Western Electric in North Andover, where she had been an electronic inspector.

She was past president of the Ladies Elks Club of Andover, and enjoyed cooking and crocheting. In her later years she devoted most of her attention to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She will be best remembered for her love of life.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Fred Shattuck of Tewksbury; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Patricia (Demers) Newcomb of Belmont, N.H., Phillip and Betty Ann (Shelley) Newcomb of Tewksbury; a sister, Adelide Shorten of Andover; a brother, Philip Webb of Andover; eight grandchildren, Fred, Randy, Adam, Brian and Ronald Newcomb, Christine Vallante, Lynn Wilson, Jennifer Letcher; eight great grandchildren; and many dear friends.

She was also mother of the late Kenneth Newcomb; and sister of the late Bradford, Alfred and William Webb.

At her request funeral services were private.

Michael J. Kaltenbach

...U.S. Navy for 12 years; 44

TEWKSBURY - Michael J. Kaltenbach, age 44, a U.S. Navy Veteran, died unexpectedly, Wednesday morning, Mar. 24, at Saint’s Memorial Medical Center, after suffering a heart attack at his Tewksbury home. He was the spouse of Mary Ann Cantu.

He was born in Van Nuys, California, Dec. 5, 1959, a son of Carolyn (Gibson) Van Benthuysen of Lake Isabella, CA, and Charles Kaltenbach of Simi Valley, CA. He was raised in California and attended college there.

He enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served for twelve years, including time in during the first Middle Eastern Gulf War.

Upon discharge, he lived in Charleston, S.C. before moving north to Tewksbury ten years ago.

He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. He was also a supporter of the National Rifle Association.

Besides his spouse and parents, he is survive by three daughters, Ysabel Cantu Anita Cantu and Hannah Kaltenbach all of Tewksbury; two sisters, Suzanne Kaltenbach of Lake Isabella, and Mary Kaltenbach of San Francisco; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jonn and Eroca Taylor, Patrick and Diane Kaltenbach all of Simi Valley; a step-brother, Nels and his wife Debbie Van Benthuysen of CA; a step-sister, Christine and her husband Ralph Krusey of CA; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

At his request, funeral services were private.

Memorials to the N.R.A. Processing Center, P.O. Box 420648, Palm Coast, FL 32142-0648, will be appreciated.
