passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010 at her home in Silver Spring, MD. Rose served as President and Zoning Chairman of the Layhill Civic Association, in which capacity she often testified before various Montgomery County agencies. She also was president of the Layhill Village Women’s Club. She served as campaign chairperson for various Montgomery County Council and School Board candidates. She had a long career as a real estate agent for Shannon & Luchs (later Weichert). Prior to moving to Maryland, Rose also was a community college instructor at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she received the Outstanding Teacher Award. She was very proud of her Italian heritage and was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge #2288. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Edgar R. Czarnecki; sons Lawrence (Sandra), Henry (Sharon), and John (Constance) Czarnecki, and daughter Laura (Robert) Fulton; and grandchildren Natalie, Jack, Paul, Thomas, and Sierra Grace Czarnecki and Shelby and Melissa Fulton.
