Brita L. Johnson (nee Lange), age 67, of Westminster, died Monday, March 28, 2011 at Homewood at Plum Creek of Hanover, PA. She was the daughter of the late Christian Lange and the late Hilda Grav Lange. She was born August 8, 1943 in Denmark. She was the wife of the Thomas Patrick Johnson who died on February 18, 2010. She was the mother of Bridget Jenkins, Niels Johnson, Kirsten Schaub and Lars Johnson. Dear sister of Mogens Lange and Niels Lange. Survived by 11 grandchildren; Joanna, Janel, David, Richard, Katie, Tyler, Chloe, Luke, Elita, Jaydon, and Braden. She was nursing assistant at Carroll County Hospital and Homecare. She raised Scottish Highland Cows. Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Christ Care Church, (Winfield), 2015 W. Old Liberty Road with the Preston Leyshon officiating. Myers, Kathryn S.
Kathryn S. (Stocker) Myers 91, of Westminster formerly of Quakertown, PA, died Sunday April 3, 2011 at the Dove House in Westminster, MD. She was the spouse of the late Robert B. Myers. Mrs. Myers was born February 1, 1920 in Quakertown, PA the daughter of the late Robert Stocker and Elsie (Stoneback) Stocker. Mrs. Myers was a life member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, sang in the choir taught Sunday school and was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Woman. Surviving her are Son and daughter-in-law Robert S. and Pat Myers of Quakertown, PA. Son and daughter-in-law Barry L. and Rosanne Myers of Westminster. Grandchildren: Jennifer L. and husband Todd Leppert, Brian F. and William Myers. Great-grandchildren: Allicyn Myers, Makenzie Leppert, Amber Keeney-Myers, Brianna Keeney-Myers and Danielle Leppert. Ronald “Ron” Charles Gwyn, 68 of Sykesville, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday April 3, 2011. Beloved husband of Janet Anne House Gwyn for 48 years. Mr. Gwyn was born July 18, 1942 in West Brownsville, PA the son of the late Leslie R. Gwyn and late Dorothy E. Baker Gwyn. Mr. Gwyn Retired as Director from Healthcare Finance Administration in Woodlawn MD in 2001. Served as a Volunteer for MD State Park Service. A member of Winfield Bible Chapel, Coached basketball in Mt. Airy and Rockville, MD Graduated from Red Stone High School in Republic, PA in 1960. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing especially at his cabin in West Virginia and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Devoted father of Kevin and wife Terri Gwyn of Sykesville, Kimberly Dawn Gwyn of Sykesville, and Keith Randall Gwyn of Fort Collins CO. She was born March 5, 1936 in Red Star, West Virginia the daughter of the late John Marshall and the late Helen Elimore Marshall. She was the mother of Patricia Nunn, Johanna Shewan, Jinelle Holbrook, Joseph Knauer, Regina Hamby and the late Rebecca Davis. She was the sister of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Marshall and Janice Revese. Norman L. Hoff, age 74, of New Windsor, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at his home. He was born March 4, 1937 in Westminster, MD the son of the late Charles E. Hoff, Sr. and the late Hilda M. Niner Hoff. He was the husband of Helen Seal Hoff. He raised and trained horses. He was a farmer. He was a blacksmith and helped with the Westminster Livestock Auction for 31 years. He also was in the Army. He was the brother of Ruth Buckingham, Elsie Legore, Raymond Hoff and wife Ginny, Ralph Hoff and wife Barbara, Charlotte Ogle, James Hoff, and Larry Hoff and wife Diane all of Westminster and the late Pauline Muller, Martha Catherine Hoff and Francis Joseph “Bud” Hoff, and Charles E. She was born May 21, 1928, Panama Canal Zone, Panama the daughter of the late Ray Sharpe and the late Marjorie Walsh Sharpe. She was a secretary for Western Electric Company. She loved reading, birds and butterflies. She was the wife of Walter Gordon Myers for 43 years. She was predeceased by a daughter Linda Ross and a sister Mary Lou Green.
