Galford, James H.
James Hanson “Jimmy” Galford, 72, of Sykesville, MD died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at his home. He was the son of the late Snowden Glen Galford and the late Arietta Beatrice Phillips Galford. He was a diesel truck mechanic; He owned his own lawn business. He enjoyed gardening; He enjoyed working on cars with his friends, and spending time with his family. He attended Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg and was a former member of Brantley Baptist Church in Baltimore. He was the father of Barbara Galford-Graham and her husband William J. Graham of Hampstead; Ellen A. Kerfoot of Towson; and Mary A. Prosper of West Palm, FL. He is also survived by brothers Jerl S., Wallace G. and Rodney A. Galford; sister-in-law Edise M. Galford; four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Private inurnment.

Baker, Donald E.
Donald Edward Baker 74, of Taylorsville, died Friday, May 28, 2010, peacefully at Dove House after a long battle with heart disease. Born March 2, 1936, in Seaman, Ohio, he was the son of the late Paul Baker and Olive Stamper Baker Seabrease, and the stepson of the late Henry Seabrease. He was the husband of Katherine (Kitty) M. Baker, whom he married in 1962. Don proudly served overseas as a soldier in the Army. He retired on disability from Social Security Administration in 1982. He loved coaching girl’s softball for his daughters. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, being outdoors and being the model for an excellent house-husband. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law, Donna Kay Baker and Thomas E. Smith, of Charlottesville, VA. and daughter Jean Marie Baker of Annapolis: brother and sister-in-law, William and Barbara Seabrease, of Finksburg and aunt and uncle Wilma and Bill McKenzie, also of Finksburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 30, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville (Beside South Carroll High School). A graveside service and burial will be held on Monday, May 31, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church cemetery, 4911 Woodbine Road, Sykesville, with the Rev. Judy Edmonson officiating. No flowers by request. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer UMC or Winfield Volunteer Fire Department, 1320 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, or the charity of your choice.

Clary, Mary V.
Mary Virginia (Farver) Clary 90 of Winfield and last survivor of her immediate family, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Brinton Woods Nursing Home. She was the spouse of the late Raymond DeWitt Clary. She was born October 11, 1919 in New Windsor, MD the daughter of the late Orlando R. Farver and the late Ella Mae (Frizzell) Farver. Mrs. Clary was a Homemaker. She loved to Quilt, Crochet, Knit, watch the Orioles and spend time with family especially her grandchildren. She was the Beloved mother of Virginia Crosswhite of Winfield with whom she resided. Grandmother of Michael M and wife Laura Crosswhite; Great-grandmother to Michael R., Summer and Andrew. Preceded in death by brothers Ralph, David, Orlando, Herman Farver, Sisters: Anna Mae Llewellyn, Ruth Baust and Foster Sister Lillian Haugh. Funeral Services will be held on Monday 11 Am at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Sarah B. Dorrance of Taylorsville UMC, Officiating. Interment will be in Taylorsville UMC cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday June 6, 2010 at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Raiman, Hazel M.
Hazel May McCabe Raiman, 85 of Finksburg, died Monday June 7, 2010, at the Dove House in Westminster. She was the spouse of the late Elmer K. Raiman. Born July 17, 1924 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late James Fred McCabe and Hazel May Sanner McCabe.she was a member of Elders Baptist Church. A Charter Member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Gamber. She was greatly involved in her church as a pioneer in Baptist work here in Carroll County. She was active at the Associational and State levels of Leadership for the Southern Baptist Convention. She was a devoted Wife and Mother and very self sacrificing. Surviving are Daughters Shawnee Huff, Pawness Camp and Cherokee Ryan and their spouses, Grandchildren: Ken, Tim, Dakota, and Faith; Great-grandchildren Gabriel, Desmond, Lily, Elias and Emily. Also survived by sister Marie Jacobs. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday June 11, 2010 11AM at Elders Baptist Church, 1216 Liberty Rd Eldersburg, MD 21784 Interment will be in Mount Pleasant cemetery, Gamber, MD. The family will receive friends on Thursday 2-4 and 6 to 8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. Memorial contributions may be made to Elders Baptist Building fund or the Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave. Westminster, MD 21157.

Magill, Frances J.
Frances Julia (Wenzel) Magill 80 of Eldersburg formerly of Baltimore, died Tuesday June 7, 2010 at her home in Eldersburg. She was the spouse of the late John Francis Magill whom she married June 5, 1948. She was born July 25 1929 in Baltimore. The daughter of the late Charles A Wenzel and Doloretta B. (Loewer) Wenzel she was a homemaker, a mother and an accountant. She also had lived in Towson, Newtown, PA and supporter and member of the South Carroll Senior Center. She was a dancer and a member of “Glitterbugs” dance troupe of the S. Carroll Senior Center. Surviving her are daughter Cheryl A. Magill of Eldersburg, Son John F. Magill of CA. Grandchildren: Krystie Magill of TX, Richard Magill of PA Alec Magill of PA, Matthew Magill of CA, Jenna and Jonathan Magill of CA, Nephew Gerald Glass and Niece Gail Wenzel. Preceded in death by son : Richard B. Magill, Sister Dolly Wenzel Glass and Charles W. Wenzel. A Catholic Prayer Service will be said on Saturday, June 12, 2010 2:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P. A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 to 2 on Saturday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made the South Carroll Senior Center, 5928 Mineral Hill Rd. Eldersburg, MD 21784.

Fisher, Sr., John A.
John Albert Fisher, Sr. 94 a resident of Homestead at Sun Valley formerly of Strabane, PA, died Friday June 11, 2010 at Carroll Hospital Center. He was the spouse of the late Mary A. (Delost) Fisher. He was born September 12, 1915 in Nation Hill, Pa the son of the late Frank and Barbara Fisher. He was the last Survivor of 13 Children. Mr. Fisher was a Coal Miner for 27 years and later worked as a Road Supervisor for the Sate of PA. He is a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, The KSKJ of Strabane and SNPJ of Strabane. He was an active member of Canonsburg Senior Center, Enjoyed Ballroom and Square Dancing. Surviving him are Son and Daughter-in-law John A. and Linda Fisher, Jr. of Wilmington, NC, Daughter and Son-in-law Rose Marie and James Taper of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Daughter Brenda Cox of Mt. Airy. Grandchildren: Brian, Julie and Stephanie Fisher, Kimberly McFoy, James Taper, Jr., Darla Robbins, Carla Booker, April Evans, Earl F. Cox, III, Stephanie Herrera and Jason Cox. 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great Grandchildren. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Great-grandson Eric Robbins and Long time companion Alice Fischer. A Funeral Mass will be said on Monday 11 Am at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Libertytown, MD . Interment will be Tuesday June 15, 2010 1:00 PM at St. Patrick cemetery, Canonsburg, PA. The family will receive friends on Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.

Richard W. Sutton, age 82, of Finksburg, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at his home. He was born April 5, 1928 in Syracuse, New York, the son of the late Leon E. Sutton, M.D., and the late Ruth C. Sutton (nee Farrington). Beloved husband of Patricia A. Sutton (nee Thompson). He was a retired Sales Manager for Alban Tractor Company. He was a Cpl. in the Army during Korea from 1948-1950. Devoted father of Richard W. Sutton II and wife Judy of Ellicott City, MD, Lisa S. Barron and husband Michael of Sykesville, MD, Cynthia S. Fox and husband Victor of Raleigh, N.C., Russell W. Sutton, Mark A. Meassick and wife Elizabeth of Nairobi, Africa, Raymond A. Meassick and wife Elizabeth of Eldersburg, MD and Gary E. Meassick of Baltimore County, MD. Loving grandfather of seven grandchildren- Alex Barron, Allyson Fox, Carly Barron, Marissa and Cody Meassick, Dane and Julia Meassick. Dear brother of Jeanne Reynolds of Cranberry Lake, NY. Friends and family reception gathering will be held Friday June 18, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Sutton Home and a Memorial Service and gathering Sunday June 20, 2010 from 1-4PM at the Sutton Home, with Rev. Lowery, Robert L.
Robert L. Lowery, age 56, of Mt. Airy, died Wednesday June 16, 2010. Beloved Husband of Roxanna B. Lowery (nee Bernier) of 36 years. Devoted father of Jason Lowery and wife Jennifer of New Market. Loving son of Charles Lowery and the late Ellen Thomas Lowery. Dear brother of Jim, Tom, Barbara and John Lowery. Loving grandfather of Garrett Lowery. Also survived by mother in law Alma Bernier, brother and sister in laws and nieces and nephews. He was born February 20, 1954 in Olney, MD. He was the owner of Lowery Mechanical Contractors in Gaithersburg. He was a member of the Steamfitters Local #602 and he was an avid fisherman. Haines, Walter T.
Walter Thomas Haines 93 of Westminster, MD, died Thursday June 17, 2010 at the Dove House. He was the spouse of over 60 years to the late Eva G. (Magin) Haines. He was born April 4, 1917 in New Windsor, MD. The son of the late Clarence Moses and late Myrle Barnes Haines. He was retired from 3M Corp. Operated a Small Machine Shop at his home where he sharpened various tools. Served in the US Army during WWII, Loved to dance, was an Avid Gardner, A member of the Baseball Old Timers Assoc., A Life Member of Westminster VFW Post #467. Mr. Haines was the Dear Brother of Margaret L. Bair of Westminster, Dorothy L. Rhoten of Manchester, the late James D., William C., Gordon E. and Ralph E. Haines, Ruth V. Fleming, Jane Owings, Ella M. Barnes, Anna E. Crawmer, Mary E. Stack and Catherine L. Shipley. Also Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 21, 2010 10 Am at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 Interment will be in Taylorsville UMC cemetery. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday June 20, 2010 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Bledsoe, Jr., Billy N.
Billy Neal Bledsoe, Jr. 48 of Carroll County MD Died Thursday June 17, 2010 at Carroll Hospital Center. He was born November 1, 1961 in Montgomery County. He was the son of Claudia White and step-son of the late Emory W. White, Jr. Mr. Bledsoe had various jobs in Construction. He loved to Draw, take walks and fish. Surviving him in addition to his Mother are Brother David Bledsoe of Westminster, Companion Audrey Combs of Mt. Airy, Son Jason Neal Bledsoe, Daughter Heather Marie Bledsoe, Grandchildren: Andrew, Austin and Erin. Also survived by Companions Children James, Sherry, Jamie, and their Children Sierra, Jacob and Jonathan, Destiny, Truman, and Parker. Funeral Services will be held Monday 7:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W Old Liberty Rd. Brown, Francis J.
Francis John Brown 83 of New Windsor, formerly of Randallstown, MD, died Monday June 21, 2010 at the Dove House in Westminster. Mr. Brown was born October 18, 1926 in Bethlehem PA, the son of the late Francis J and Helen (Snyder) Brown. A veteran of the US Navy during WWII he was part of the crew on the LSM Force 66. He was a member of St Ursula’s Catholic Church in Bethlehem until he moved his family to Maryland after accepting a position with the Government Printing Office in Washington, DC where he retired. A parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glyndon MD and former parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 122 Owings Mills, American Legion Post Westminster as well as VFW Post 467 Westminster. He was Past Commander of American Legion Post 406 Fountain Hill in Bethlehem PA. He was survived by Gloria Brown his wife of 12 years. He was predeceased by Veronica (O’Donnell) Brown his wife of 35 years, surviving are their five daughters and one son; Karen and husband Ronny Walker, Maureen and husband Richard Geelhaar, Patricia and husband Scott Walsh, Colleen and husband Karl Dailey, Gwendolyn and husband Michael Pappas, Timothy and wife Cindy Brown; grandchildren; Ryan and Michael Walker, Sean and Zachary Walsh, James Dailey, Kristin and Keith Pappas, Patrick Brown and great-grandchild; Riley Walker. Friends may call Thursday June 24, 2010 3 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd., Winfield, MD 21784.
