Holmes, Shirley M.
Shirley Mae (Riley) Holmes, 75 of Sykesville, MD, died Monday December 13, 2010 at Future Care of Cherrywood. She was the spouse of the late George W. Holmes, Sr. She was born February 13, 1935 in Oella, MD the daughter of the late French Lee and Grace Lee (Grady) Riley. Mrs. Holmes was a Homemaker but in later years was an aide at Sykesville Middle School. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and reading. Surviving are Sons and Daughter-in-law George W. and Pamela Holmes of Reisterstown, Mark Holmes of Phildelphia, PA Grandchildren; Douglas, Brittany and Mark Holmes, Brandy Johnson. Great-grandchildren Hayden, Calyn, Griffen and Trinity. Brothers Robert Riley of FL and Edward Riley of Frederick, MD. Funeral Services will be held Friday December 17, 2010 10AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. Interment will take place Monday December 20, 2010 Garrison Forest Veterans cemetery Owings Mills, MD The family will receive friends on Thursday December 16, 2010 6 to 8 PM.

Knight, Lowell T.
Lowell Thomas Knight, age 76, of Woodbine, Died Friday, December 17, 2010, at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson, MD. He was born July 11, 1934 in Virginia. He was the son of the late Everett Knight and the late Cigourney Morris Knight. He was the owner and tree surgeon for Knight’s Tree Service. He served in the US Navy. He was a member of Morgan Chapel U.M. Church in Woodbine. He enjoyed playing cards. He loved auctions and antiques and was very interested in Landscaping and loved his family and grandchildren. He was the husband of the late Novella Virginia Knight (nee Grimes). He was the father of Patricia Gardener of Mt. Vernon, Maine and Craig Knight of Baltimore. He was the brother of the late Everett Knight. He was the grandfather of Jason Gardner and great grandfather of Thomas William Gardner both of Taylorsville. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Tuesday from 6-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Morgan Chapel U.M. Church with the Rev. Arthur Monroe in Woodbine officiating. Private interment. Pickett, Norman D.
Norman Dewey Pickett, age 86, of Woodbine, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Northampton Manor in Frederick, MD. He was born April 27, 1924 in Woodbine, MD the son of the late Ellis Dewey Pickett and the late Bertha Pearl Lindsay Pickett. He was a farmer. He was a carpenter for American University for 17 years. He loved gardening and making things carpentry. He was the husband of Julia Marie Turfle Pickett. Surviving sons Denton W. Pickett and daughter in law Elaine V. Pickett of Westminster, Dennis L. Pickett and daughter in law Matilda Pickett of Union Bridge and a daughter Norma Jean Haass and son in law Carl Haass of Union Bridge. Surviving are 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A brother and sister in law Ralph and Alice Pickett of Woodbine. A brother in law Robert (Budd) Turfle and wife Dorothy Turfle. A sister in law Betty Lambert of Maugansville, MD. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Hazel Pickett Smith and one great grandchild. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Schlotterbeck, Douglas L.
Douglas Lee Schlotterbeck of Mount Airy passed away on Monday December 20, 2010 at Frederick Memorial Hospital at the age of 79. He was born March 10, 1931 in Hagerstown, MD the son of the late Edward E. and late Isabela Valentine Schlotterbeck. Mr. Schlotterbeck was the devoted husband of Letitia B. “Tink” Schlotterbeck. Douglas was a member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren and proudly served as a member of the MD State Police for twenty two years. During his retirement he was a noted authority in the restoration of antique time pieces. A Forty year member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, he was very active in the local “Free State “Chapter # 141 of the NAWCC. Surviving in addition to his wife of 60 years are sons and Daughter-in-law Michael L. and Patricia Schlotterbeck of Mobile, AL and Jeffrey L. Schlotterbeck of West Palm Beach, FL. Four Grandchildren: Jeffrey, Kristin, Lauren and Katie, 3 great grandchildren, Sisters Bonnie Bell Spickler and Mary Ellen Renner and brother Edward L. Schlotterbeck. Preceded in death by his sister Jo Anne Etter of Waynesboro, PA. As per his wishes Graveside Services will be conducted by Pastors Hall and Lusk at Rest Haven cemetery 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21742 Sec 128 Site 4 1:00 PM Monday December 27, 2010. A Memorial Celebration will be conducted at a future date in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, 13356 Glassines Mill Rd. Mt. Airy, MD 21771. The Family expresses their gratitude to all their friends and neighbors, the doctors and the nurses who supported them during his illness.

Gensel, Richard P.
Richard Philip Gensel, age 74, of Woodbine, died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Carroll Hospice, Inc.-Dove House in Westminster, MD. He was born February 11, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio the son of the late Richard W. Gensel and the late Jessica Aultchel Gensel. He was a Printer for John H. Harland Co. He served in the US Navy. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Community in Eldersburg since 1976. He enjoyed bowling and being on bowling leagues, enjoyed golfing, fishing and the beach and enjoyed life in general. He was the husband of Helen Mary Gensel (nee Henry) for 51 years. He was the father of Jamie Lynn Johnson and husband Herschel of Columbia, MD and Marc Richard Gensel and wife Robyne of Frederick. Brother of- James “Jerry” Gensel and wife Judith of Hollywood, Florida and Brother in law of William Murrelle of Hollywood, FLoirda and the late Caroline Murrelle and the late Robert Thomas “Pete” Gregg. Loving grandfather of six- Matthew Richard, Jessica, Leslie, Katie, Kristina and Joseph Richard and four great grandchildren: Jaden, Jaela, Jackson and Adelyn. Blanche G. Schmauch (nee Gilbert), age 94, of Baltimore, died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown, MD. She was born December 3, 1916 in Baltimore, MD. She was the wife of the late Adam A. Schmauch. She worked for BGE on the Assembly line. She was a member of Milford Mill U.M. Church. She was the friend of Helen Townsend. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Milford Mill U.M. Church, 915 Milford Mill Road, Pikesville, MD 21208 with the Rev. Marlon Tilghman officiating. Interment Lorraine Park cemetery, Woodlawn, MD. Friends may call the Milford Mill U.M. Church from 10:00-11:00Am on Thursday, December 30, 2010. Tegeler-Zimmerman, Weston L.
Weston Levi Tegeler-Zimmerman an infant from Westminster died unexpectantly at home January 1, 2009. He was the son of Berry Christopher Zimmerman and Christina Frances Tegeler. He was born December 17, 2008 at Carroll Hospital Center. Surviving in addition to his parents are Brother Wyatt Austin, Grandparents; Theresa Giulioni, Donald and Sue Tegeler, Sr., Berry E. and Vicki Zimmerman and Diana Smith, Great-grandparents: Donna Tegeler, Joan and Stewart Smith, Verna Jean Giulioni-Hill and husband Ralph Hill. Also survived by 2 uncles: Donald Tegeler, Jr. and Daniel Zimmerman and numerous cousins. Also survived by great great grandfather William N. Shelbaer. Preceded in death by Great-grandparents Walter Tegeler, Jr. James and Dorothy Zimmerman and Francis Xavier Giulioni. Interment was Saturday January 3, 2009 in Meadow Branch cemetery, Westminster, MD.

Robert Lee Ensor 76 of Woodbine, MD formerly of Woodlawn, died Tuesday January 6, 2008 at Carroll Hospital Center. He was born January 19, 1932. Inurnment will be at a later date in Lorraine Park cemetery. Arrangements by Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, PA.

Pardoe, Robert S.
Robert S. Pardoe of Woodbine, MD, died Friday January 9, 2009 at Montgomery County General Hospital. He was the Beloved husband of Joan L. Pardoe (nee Neumeyer). He was born January 21, 1931 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Myrle L. Pardoe, Sr. and the late Lydia Stephan Pardoe. Mr. Pardoe was retired in 1992 after 44 years service with Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, a lifetime member and Past President of Glenwood Lions Club, and a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. Devoted father of Marie and husband E. Grant Moore, Jr., Donna Jeanette and husband Russell E. Doyle Jr., Michele Ann Pardoe and Step-Children; the late Bruce Peach, Marvine Elizabeth and husband Steven Jenkins, Thomas and wife Shelia J. Peach, Teresa Ann Peach and companion Glen A. Lane, Patrick A and wife Nancy A. Peach. Dearest brother of C. Thompson Pardoe, David H. Pardoe, Lyla Sander, the late Myrle L. Pardoe, Jr. and the late Jeanne Garner. Loving Grandfather of Melinda Christine Palumbo, Frankie Dean, Robert Eastwood and Pricilla Jeannette Doyle, Jennifer Ann Jenkins, Michele Lynn Harker, Russell Howard Neighoff, Thomas D. Andrew D. Raiman, Elmer K.

Elmer K. Raiman 86 of Finksburg, MD, died Thursday January 15, 2009 at the Dove House in Westminster, MD. He was the spouse of Hazel May McCabe Raiman of Finksburg. Mr. Raiman was born August 31, 1922 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Joseph and late Rose Przygoda Raiman. He was a Commercial Construction Superintendent and also a Farmer. Mr. Raiman and his wife were founding members of Emanuel Baptist Church in Gamber MD . They were also members of Elders Baptist Church. Mr. Raiman enjoyed gardening. He served in the US Coast Guard during WWII. He was also a Disaster Relief Volunteer with the Southern Baptist Convention. In addition to his wife he is survived by 3 daughters and their spouses, Shawnee Huff, Pawnee Camp and Cherokee Ryan, Grandchildren: Ken, Tim, Dakota and Faith, Great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Desmond, Lily, and Elias. Brother Leroy Raiman. Funeral Services will be held Monday 12 noon at Elders Baptist Church, 1216 Liberty Rd. Eldersburg, MD 21784. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Gamber, MD. Mary Gladys Wright Runkles (nee Walker), age 92, of New Windsor, died Sunday January 25, 2009, at the Carroll Hospice-Dove House in Westminster, MD. She was born February 1, 1916 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Albert George Walker and the late Margaret Catherine Dunn Walker. She was the wife of the late Paul David Wright, died in 1972 and the late Norman W. Runkles who died in 1984. She was a homemaker. She worked at Springfield Sate Hospital and in Olney, MD Brooke Grove Foundation Nursing & Rehab. Center. She was a member of Bethel Church, Member of Woman’s Society; she enjoyed sewing, reading, puzzles and bingo and her cat Kathy. She was the mother of the late George A. Wright, Sr. who died in 2004. She was the grandmother of Wanda Smith and Michael Smith of Mt. Airy, George “Buddy” Wright, Jr. and Denise Wright of New Windsor and the late Donna M. Wright who died in 1964. Mother in law of Alice D. Wright of New Windsor. Great grandmother of Steven Smith, Matthew Smith, Justine Wright, Valerie Wright and Emily Wright. Funeral Service will be Thursday January 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Pastor Sue Bowen of Bethel U.M. Church and Pastor Mindy Coates officiating. Interment Taylorsville U.M.
