Elizabeth B. Miller
KENNEDYVILLE - Elizabeth B. Miller of Kennedyville died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000 at Chestertown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chestertown. She was 93.
Born in Kennedyville, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Hill and Emma Grantlin Beasten.
She married Ralph E. Miller in 1923. They farmed most of their lives and were active in the farming community. Mr. Miller died Oct. 9, 1966.
In her earlier years, Mrs. Miller was active with both the Kent County Farm Bureau and the Ladies Aid of the United Methodist Church in Galena. She later became a member of Shrewsbury Episcopal Church in Kennedyville.
Mrs. Miller is survived by three daughters, Rebecca M. Startt and Hester M. Bryden, both of Chestertown, and Edna M. Brooks of Huntington, W.Va.; one brother, Albert Hill Beasten of Earleville; a sister, Edna Peaper Ferguson of Newark, Del.; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Three sons, Harold E., Roger B., and Ralph I. Miller, and a sister, Bertha B. Miller, are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10 at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Chestertown, where friends may call at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Chester Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Hugh B. Williams
ROCK HALL - Hugh Barnham Williams of Rock Hall died of heart failure Friday, Aug. 4, 2000 at Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital, Chestertown. He was 69.
Born in Lewes, Del., he was the son of the late William S. and Julia Barnham Williams.
He spent his early years in Delaware, later graduating from Harvard University. He continued his education at Columbia University in New York City where he completed two years of law school. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.
For 35 years he worked for IBM in New York retiring as executive in 1989. In 1992, Mr. Williams and his wife Gwyn moved to Rock Hall. He donated his time to several organizations in Chestertown and Kent County helping them to establish computer programs and designing web sites.
In addition to his wife of 20 years, Mr. Williams is survived by his four daughters, Gwynne B. Williams of Milford, Conn., Marguerite B. Williams and Holly M. Williams, both of San Francisco, and Jennifer N. Barr of Columbia; three sons, Joseph J. Williams of Syracuse, N.Y., A. Stephen Barr of Philadelphia, and Christopher Williams of Newport, R.I.; two sisters, Anne Blake of Chico, Calif., and Gwynne Jacobs of New York City; and two grandchildren. A brother, C. Sumner Williams, died in January of this year.
Services and burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Kent County Unit, 711 Washington Ave., # 29-174, Chestertown, Md., 21610.

Elizabeth N. Daffin
DENTON - Elizabeth N. Daffin of Denton, and formerly of Federalsburg, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000 at the Memorial Hospital at Easton. She was 80.
Born July 4, 1920 in Hurlock, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Catherine M. Nossick Navratil.
Her husband of 52 years, Raymond F. Daffin, died on on Feb. 12, 1993.
She and her husband owned and operated the Daffin Store in American Corner, near Federalsburg for over forty-two years.
She was a member of the Easton Moose Lodge #1520, and was a member and employee of the Senior Center in Denton. She attended St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church in Denton.
Mrs. Daffin is survived by a son, Ronald F. Daffin of Denton; a daughter, Kay C. Cooper of Ridgely; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Dad of Calabash, N.C. and a brother Charles N. Navratil of High Point, N.C.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 7 , at 11 a.m. at the Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, in Federalsburg. Burial will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. There will be no public viewing.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Benedictine School Foundation, 14299 Benedictine Lane, Ridgley, MD 21660.

William M. Evey Jr.
Baltimore - William Marlin Evey Jr. of Baltimore, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000. He was 49.
Born April 18, 1951 in Wellsboro, Pa., he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Evey Sr. of Preston and the late Mary Mae Inscho Evey.
He had a master's of science degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
Mr. Every is survived by his wife Lorna Smith Evey of BelAir; three sisters, Susan Slowinski of Colrain, Mass., Katherine Christopher of Federalsburg, Janice Burt of Preston; and two brothers, Scott Evey of Preston and Thomas Evey of Preston.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m. at Grace Lutheran, Hamilton, Baltimore. Friends may visit at Ruck Townson Funeral Home, Townson on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will take place at Moorland Memorial Park.
Memorial donations can be made to Huntington's Disease Society of Maryland.

Morgan Mayolo
RIVERDALE - Morgan Mayolo of Riverdale, died on Aug. 1, 2000. He was 41.
Mr. Mayolo is survived by a brother, Vincent II of Western Maryland, Shawn Mayolo of Portland, Ore. and Rhea Green of Preston; His parents Vincent and Mary Ann Mayolo are deceased.
Funeral services will be graveside at Lake Memorial Gardens in Davidson. Friends may call Gasch's Funeral Home in Hyattsville on Aug. 7 from noon until 1 p.m.

Frances J. Robbins
FISHING CREEK - Frances June Ruark Robbins, of Fishing Creek, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000 at Washington Hospital, Washington, D.C. She was 69.
Born on Feb. 7, 1931 at Fishing Creek, she was the daughter of the late Olin Ruark and Catherine Cannon Ruark
She was raised at Hoopers Island and was a graduate of Hoopers Island High School. Mrs. Robbins had worked for 35 years for W.T. Ruark and Son Seafood Co. On Sept. 7, 1949 she married Rudolph James "Ruddy" Robbins Sr.
Mrs. Robbins was a member of Hosier Memorial United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Hoopers Island Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to her husband of 50 years, Mrs. Robbins is survived by four children, Rudolph J. "Ruddy" Robbins Jr. Cambridge, Eddy Robbins of Salisbury, Randy Robbins of Fishing Creek and Ronnie Robbins of Fishing Creek; a sister, Peggy Burton of Cambridge and four grandchildren. A sister, Anna Belle Wanex, id deceased.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 7 at 1 p.m. at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, Cambridge, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.

Catherine I. Sisco
TUNIS MILLS - Catherine I. Sisco of Tunis Mills near Easton died at University Hospital in Baltimore on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000 at the age of 73. She died as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident earlier in July.
Born on May 26, 1927 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late William and Maude M. Johnson Wilmer.
Her husband, Abraham Sisco, is deceased. She did domestic work for many years working for the James C. Layton family as well as doing industrial domestic work.
She was a private person who loved to cook and who also enjoyed her children, and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Irelene V. and her husband, Calvin Washington, of Federalsburg and Faye Delores Sisco of Easton; three sons, Abe Sisco Jr. and his wife Brenda, of Trappe, Donald L. Sisco Sr. and his wife, Deborah of Easton, and James Howard Sisco and his companion, Terry Webb, both of Easton; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Beddie Beverly of Cannan, Conn.; a brother, Nathaniel Charles Wilmer of Cambridge; and many nieces; nephews and cousins. She is also survived by a faithful companion of many years, James M. Green of Easton, who helped her raise her children.
A grandson, Jermaine Sisco, preceded her in death on May 17, 1999.
Funeral services for her will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000 at 1 p.m. at St. Matthews United Methodist Church at Longwoods with the Rev. William Ross, officiating. Burial will follow in Richards Memorial Park in Easton. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Serving as pallbearers will be Abe Sisco Jr. , Howard Williams Jr., Horace Armstrong, Larry Armstrong, Darren Nichols and Noble Henry.
The family has requested that donations be made in her memory to the Arthritis Foundation - Rhuematioid Arthritis Program,1501 Emarson Ave. Salisbury, MD 21801.
Arrangements are being handled by Frampton-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home in Federalsburg.
