Wagner, Wayne W.

Wayne William Wagner 26, of Taylorsville, MD, died suddenly due to a Automobile accident Thursday June 11, 2009 in Clarksville, MD. He was born December 26, 1982 in Carroll County MD the son of Wayne Ernest Wagner of Taylorsville and Donna Gail (Wright ) Wagner of West Virginia. He was a student at Lincoln Technical Institute where he was studying to become a Chef. He enjoyed listening to music, fishing, landscaping and photography. Surviving in addition to his parents are Daughter; Alexis Hailie Wagner of Taylorsville, Brother; William Ernest Decker of Taylorsville, Girlfriend; Tammy Lynn Porter of Taylorsville. He is also survived by numerous friends. A Memorial Service will take place Tuesday June 16, 2009 6:30 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Arthur Monroe officiating. Inurnment will be private at a later date in Taylorsville cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Winfield Volunteer Fire Department, 1320 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.

Becker, June M.

June Mildred Becker (nee Cummings), age 82, originally of Long Island, NY died Friday, June 12, 2009, at Ridge Overlook Assisted Living in Taylorsville. She was formerly living in Bellevue, Washington. She was the wife of the late Ira F. Becker, Jr. She was born January 1, 1927, in Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Clarence & Florence Cummings. She was a homemaker, and Executive Assistant for National Liberty Corp. She adored singing and dancing, and was a member of Song Writers of North America. She was active in Issaquah Washington Community Theater. She also loved all wild and domestic animals, particularly cats. She donated much of her time and love caring for needy animals through the Mont. Co. PA Humane Society and the King Co. Wash. Animal Control. She is survived by daughters Gail Becker of Mt. Airy, and Carol Carty of Bellevue, WA. She was preceded in death by brother Milton Cummings, and grandson Colin Carty. Services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Purrfect Pals, 230 McRae Rd., N.E. Arlington, Washington 98223. Purrfect Pals was instrumental in locating homes for her cats when she became unable to care for them.

Moffitt, Sr., William M.

William M. Moffitt, Sr., age 82, of Mt. Airy, died Wednesday, June 10 2009. Born in Buladean, North Carolina, on May 4, 1927, he was the son of the late Elzia and Hester Francis Moffitt. He was the husband of M. Sue Moffit, his wife of 60 years and was the last of his immediate family. Extremely patriotic, he was very proud of his 20 year service with the Army Air Corps/Air Force as Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor/Flight Engineer. He served and was stationed at bases all over the world, including Guam, Germany, the Philippines, Japan, England, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, as well as numerous stateside assignments. He served during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War but was most proud of his service during the Berlin Air Lift. During his time of service he received numerous awards and citations. Upon retirement from the Air Force he was employed at Black & Decker in Hampstead until his retirement in 1977. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He enjoyed trips in the family RV, camping, fishing, gospel music and blue grass concerts. After discovering Maryland steamed crabs upon moving to Maryland, he and his wife enjoyed crabbing trips to the Wye River with family and friends. He also enjoyed his boat and delighted in taking brave family volunteers on thrilling water skiing adventures. He also loved his Yorkie Terrier and devoted friend, Buddy. He was predeceased by his grandson, Evan Thomas Moffitt. In addition to his wife he is survived by son and daughter in law, William and Jamie Moffitt, of Clinton, Tennessee, daughter and son in law, Vicky and Donald Patton of Mt. Airy, Maryland, beloved nieces Louise Butler and husband Gene and Lorene Mullinex and husband Jay, all of Johnson City, Tennessee as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Yohn, Edwin L.

Edwin Lionel Yohn 66 of Winfield, MD, died Thursday June 18, 2009 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Westminster, MD. Mr. Yohn was the spouse of Shirley Jean (Bishop) Yohn. Mr. Yohn was born April 22, 1943 in Frederick, MD the son of the late Lionel Yohn and late Margaret Lee (Dorsey) Yohn. Mr. Yohn was self Employed as a Brick Mason. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. He was an Eagle Scout, enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling with family, hiking the Appalachian Trail and Camping. Surviving in addition to his wife are Daughters Jeannie Yohn of Lotus, Ca and Christina and spouse Sean Baity of Jacksonville, MD, Grandchildren: Owen Messer and Ryan Baity, Sister Elaine Molesworth, Niece Teresa Molesworth Blatchley, Nephew Joseph Molesworth, great-nephews Jack and Trent Blatchley and great-niece Madelyn Molesworth. Funeral Services will be Monday June 22, 2009 11:00 AM with viewing 1 hour prior to service at St. James United Methodist Church, 3000 Marston Rd. Dennings, MD 21776 with Interment to follow in Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday June 21, 2009 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. Those desiring may make contributions to St. James UMC C/O Betty Wetzel 2424 Burton Dr. New Windsor, MD 21776 or Winfield Volunteer Fire Department, 1320 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.

Kusterer, Mary C.

Mary Catherine Kusterer (nee Hastings), age 50, of Randallstown, died Friday June 19, 2009 at Seasons Hospice Center at Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown, MD. She was born September 7, 1958 in Arlington, VA the daughter of Marguerite M. Hastings (nee Clarke) of Randallstown and the late Frank E. Hastings. She graduated from Randallstown High School in 1976 and was employed by Northwest Hospital Center as an O.R. Technician. She is survived by her sons Christopher and Sean Kusterer of Randallstown; her brother Kevin Hastings of Williamsport, PA and her niece Brooke Hastings and a nephew Ryan Hastings of Williamsport, PA.; her aunt Grace Mary O’Hora of California; and her companion Michael Pearce of Abington, MD. Also survived by numerous cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date and will be announced by the family.

Shipley, Henry D.

Henry David Shipley, age 57, died Thursday June 25, 2009 at University Hospital, Baltimore, MD. He was born April 17, 1952 in Hanover, PA the son of the late George F. Shipley, Sr. and the late Pearl E. Shipley (nee Ford). He was the husband of Joyce M. Shipley (nee Morrow). He worked for Springfield State Hospital as a LPN for 38 years. He was the brother of George F. Shipley, Jr. and wife Eveline of Woodbine and Darlene M. Sisolak and husband Frank III of Eldersburg. Loving Uncle of Jason and Melissa Shipley, Matthew Shipley, Frank Sisolak IV and Brandon Sisolak. Gathering of Friends will be held Tuesday June 30, 2009 from 2-4PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School). Private Interment.

Fleagle, Wilbur J.

Wilbur J. Fleagle, 91 of Eldersburg formerly of Columbia, died Thursday July 2, 2009. He was the spouse of the late Harriette (Hayes) Fleagle. He was born March 22, 1918 in Waynesboro, PA the son of late Clarence W. Fleagle and late Marie (Utz) Fleagle. Retired after working 30 years at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab. He was a WWII US Navy veteran. He was an avid baseball and football fan and enjoyed reading. Surviving him are Son and Daughter-in-law Michael S. Fleagle and Carol Crutchfield of Ellicott City Son and Daughter-in-law Kevin J. and Desiree Fleagle of Westminster, Sisters Mary Stoops of Greencastle, PA and Marguerite Fager of Smithsburg, MD . Grandson Michael E. Fleagle. Preceded in death by Grandson Kristopher J. Fleagle and Brother John Fleagle. Graveside Services will take place on Monday July 6, 2009 11:30 AM at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mount View Rd. Marriottsville, MD 21104. Hickey, Ruth M.

Ruth M. Hickey (nee Carman), age 85, of Sykesville, formerly of Anne Arundel County, died Sunday July 5, 2009 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. She was born August 14, 1923 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late William S. Carman and the late Lillian A. Carman (nee Newton). She was a Supervisor Data Processing Department for the MVA. She enjoyed bowling and was a Top Bowler. She was the mother of- Linda Tieman, Skip McDonald, Joanne Corkill, and Bill Hickey, Jr. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday July 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Paul Andrews of Faith Family Church in Sykesville officiating. Interment will be in Loudon Park cemetery. Friends may call the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Subock, John T.

Mr. John T. Subock 48 of Finksburg, MD, died Saturday July 11, 2009 after a long battle with Cancer that put him through 88 Chemotherapy Treatments. He was the spouse of Lisa Ann (Kennedy) Subock of Finksburg. He was born November 15, 1960 in Baltimore, MD the son of Faith A. (Watts) Subock of Randallstown and the late Robert Lewis Subock, Sr. Mr. Subock was a Sheet Metal Mechanic, a Speaker for the American Cancer Society, and Assistant Soccer Coach for his son’s team the Sandymount Eagles. He was a Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, Crabbing and attending Raven’s games with his son. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are Daughter and Son: Michele Marie and Christopher John Subock both of Finksburg, Brother and Sister-in-law Robert L and Ellen Subock, Jr. of Owings Mills. Sister: Kathleen Subock of Eldersburg and Niece Casey Nicole Subock of Eldersburg. A Catholic Prayer Service will take place on Wednesday July 15, 2009 1:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Park Sykesville, MD. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 Wake Service at 7:30 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to The American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way #908 Eldersburg, MD 21784 or Baltimore Cancer Support Group 7910 Belair Rd. Baltimore, MD 21236.

Zebroski, Thomas E.

Mr. Thomas Edward Zebroski, 81 of Woodbine, MD, died Monday July 13, 2009 at home in Woodbine. He was the Fiancé’ of Virginia Arnold of Woodbine. He was born March 8, 1928 in Huntington, PA the son of the late John J Zebroski and Josephine (Ofiarski) Zebroski. He was the owner/operator of Zebroski Excavating He worked for the Railroad in Altoona, PA until 1952 and then he was a machinist for many years before going into business for himself. He a veteran of the United State s Marine Corps serving in WWII He was a 50 year member of Camp Springs Lodge #227 A.F. and A.M. Camp Springs, MD, a 32 degree member of the Scottish Rite Frederick, MD a Former member of Woodsboro American Legion and a current member of American Legion Gold Star Post 191 in Mt. Airy, MD . He enjoyed spending time with his dog Jackie, Antiques, collecting coins, woodworking, hunting and NASCAR. Surviving in addition to his fiancée’ are Sister Julia Maillard of Altoona, PA, Children: Susan Thompson of Altoona, PA, Thomas D and wife Julie Zebroski of Woodsboro, MD, Steven and wife Lynn Zebroski of Mt. Airy, M D. Grandchildren: Tammie Thompson, Crissie Dutrow, Dawn, Danny, Kristin, Thomas(TJ), Jacob, Zachary, and Michael Zebroski, Great-grandchildren: Ashley, Jacquelyn, Brittany, Brandon, Kiley, Austin, Makenzie and Madison. Also survived by members of Fiancé’ family Dennis and Cathy Tomlinson, Brian and Lisa Tomlinson, Sarah Arnold, Carter Arnold, James Arnold and wife Tracy and Caroline and husband Jeff Parsons. Preceded in death by brothers and sisters: John Zebroski, Jennie Riden, Walter Zebroski and Martha Szczerba. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursda y July 16, 2009 11 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, PA, 1212 W Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Frank Warner of Lighthouse Ministries offic iating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs cemetery, Poplar Springs, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday July 15, 2009 3-5 and 7-9 PM.
