Bergmann, Milton R.

Milton Ronald Bergmann 61 of New Windsor, MD, died Wednesday September 23, 2009 at Carroll Hospital Center. He was born August 29, 1948 in Prince George’s County, MD the son of the late Milton H. Bergmann and the late Betty (Marker) Bergmann. He was Co-Owner of The New Windsor Inn. Mr. Bergmann had also been an electrician for over 15 years with Cox Electric. Surviving him are Brothers and Sister: Rick and Bill Bergmann of Shadyside, MD and Janet Connor of Mt. Airy, MD. A Memorial Service will take place Sunday September 27, 2009 1:00 PM at The New Windsor Inn, 106 Main St. New Windsor, MD 21776 (Casual Dress) Please omit flowers.

Stoesser, Robert

Robert "Bob" Stoesser, of Mt. Airy, died peacefully at home on Saturday, October 3. 2009 at the age of 64 after a brave battle with cancer. Bob was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on January 29, 1945 to his mother, Gloria Herrick, and late father, Eddie Stoesser. Bob Stoesser accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior on October 28, 2003 with his Pastor Wally Webster. His new life with Christ has profoundly affected all those he met, especially children and he continued to minister to those who visited him in his final hospital stay. Bob has lived in Columbia, Silver Spring, and Mount Airy, Maryland and is a member of Mount Airy Bible Church. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 25 years, Chari, and his four children and their spouses respectively: Eva Fewster and her husband Robert, Eddie Stoesser and his wife Lauren, Chari Abb, and Mark Waters and his wife Carla. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Spindler and her husband Henry, his sister, Anne Coles and her husband Larry, his brother Eddie Stoesser, and grandchildren Shelby and Emma Abb. Bob graduated from East Texas State University with a teaching degree and taught fifth grade in New Jersey. He worked at United Van Lines-Greenmount Moving and Storage for twenty-four years as a salesman. Bob was in the greeting, visitation, and AWANA ministries at his church. His hobbies included collecting model trains, antiquing, cooking, fishing, and watching sports-especially the New York Giants. After moving to his country home, he became an avid deer hunter. A funeral service will be held at Mount Airy Bible Church, Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 2 o'clock. Gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00-2:00 PM. Interment Pine Grove cemetery, Mt. Pickett, Dorothy L.

Dorothy Louise Criswell Pickett, 91 of Woodbine, MD, died Tuesday October 6, 2009 at the Dove House in Westminster. She was the spouse of the late Francis M. Pickett, Sr. She was born September 20, 1918 in Carroll County, MD the daughter of the late Roscoe and the late Irene (Scheller) Criswell. Mrs. Criswell Pickett was a homemaker. She is Predeceased by brothers Carl and Roscoe Criswell. Surviving her are Son and Daughter-in-law Francis and Virginia Pickett of Woodbine, Daughters and Son-in-laws Jean and Eddy Condon of Woodbine, Carol and Danny Ennis of South Carolina. Sister and brother-in-law Charlotte and Casey Nix of Birmingham, AL. Grandchildren: Karen Zimmerman, Sherry Jones, Denise Naill, Kyle Ennis. 7 Great-grandchildren and several nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Friday October 9, 2009 10 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with Pastor Arthur Monroe of Morgan Chapel UM Church officiating. Interment in Morgan Chapel cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday October 8, 2009 4-7 PM.

Rohrer, Robin M.

Robin M. Rohrer (nee Biemiller), age 54, of Woodbine, died Saturday October 10, 2009 at her home. She was born September 6, 1955 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of John Jordan Biemiller and Estella Theresa Biemiller (nee Wieber) of Woodbine. She was a veterinary Assistant/office manager for Taylorsville Veterinary Clinic in Taylorsville for over 20 years. Surviving in addition to her parents are a daughter Sabrina Rohrer of Woodbine, sister Deborah Dunn of Woodbine, a niece Elizabeth Dunn of Woodbine and a grandson Jacob Fisher, and Fiancé David Morris of New Windsor. She was predeceased by grandchild Angel Joshua Seal. Memorial Service with Catholic Prayers will be held Thursday October 15, 2009 at 7:30 PM; with a Gathering of family and friends from 6:30-7:30 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School). Private interment. Memorial Contributions can be made to: Carroll Hospice, Inc., 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.

Lee, Virginia

Virginia Lee, 90, of New Windsor, died on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Born April 23, 1919, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Maggie Reiblich. She was the wife of the late Gordon C. Lee. She was a devoted wife and mother. Surviving is her daughter, Patricia Edel, her grandson, Timothy Peterson, her sister, Betty Vaughn, her niece, Carole Mosco, her great niece and nephew Kimberly Zetlmeisl and Kevin Copenspire. She was a Housewife. She was a member of the Eldersburg West Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with Brother James Howard delivering the memorial discourse. Friends may call from 3-5 & 7-9 PM on Sunday at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA. Interment will be in Mt. Olive U.M. Church cemetery, Randallstown, MD.

Smith, Naomi K.

Naomi Kathryn (Dudderar) Smith 90 of Carroll Lutheran Village, died Tuesday October 20, 2009 at Carroll Lutheran Village. She was the spouse of the late Ralph Loutrelle Smith, Sr. Mrs. Smith was born January 4, 1919 in Oak Orchard New Windsor, MD the daughter of the late William W. Dudderar and the late Helen Virginia Eckard Dudderar. Mrs. Smith was a Registered Nurse and graduated from Frederick Memorial Hospital’s nursing program in 1940. She worked first at the US Public Health Hospital in Wyman Park and then transferred to the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn where she was a nursing supervisor. A member of Linganore United Methodist Church, involved in various volunteer services at Carroll Lutheran Village. Surviving her are Children: Cheryl D. Miller of Taylorsville, and Gary D. Smith of Pittsville. Sisters: Myra Koontz and Elaine Startz - 5 Grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Ralph Loutrelle, Jr. in 1981. Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday October 22, 2009 11 AM at Linganore cemetery, 8921 Clemsonville Rd. Union Bridge, MD 21791 with the Rev. Jimmie Schwartz Chaplain of Carroll Lutheran Village officiating.

Janney, Jr., Richard

Richard White Janney, Jr. 71 of Mt. Airy, died Saturday October 24, 2009 at Beebe Medical Center, in Lewes DE. Beloved husband of Carole Ann Janney (nee Albright). Mr. Janney was born May 2, 1938 in Montgomery County. The son of the late Richard White Janney, Sr. and the late Dorothy Crosby Janney. Mr. Janney was a Ret. Major with the Maryland State Police after 35 years of services, when with the State Police he was the Original Commander of MD State Police SWAT Team. He was also retired from Holy Cross Hospital where he was the Director of Security. He was a Life Member of Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Dept, A veteran of the US Army, a member of Salem UMC. His hobbies included Bluegrass Music, Family and visiting his beach house. Surviving in addition to his wife are: Son Jeffrey and wife Pam Janney of Upperco, Daughter Lynne and husband David Pulford of Adamstown, Son Mark Janney and companion Raman Soi. Sisters Mary Conlon, Margaret Janney, Grandchildren Ashley and Wes White, Bryan, Caitlyn, Taylor and Leila Janney. Preceded in death by brother the late Nole Janney. The Family will receive friends on Thursday October 29, 2009 2-4 and 6-9 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. Memorial Services will be held Friday October 30, 2009 11 AM at Salem UMC 12, High St. Brookeville, MD 20833. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Blasco, Jean F.

Jean Frances (Zito) Blasco, died on October 25, 2009 after an extended illness. She was the spouse of David P. Blasco, Sr. Mrs. Blasco was born November 12, 1947 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of Mary Jean (Callahan) Brocato. Mrs. Blasco was retired from the Social Security Administration. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Surviving in addition to her mother and husband are Son: David P. Blasco, Jr. of Eldersburg and Sister Michelle Bennett of Sykesville. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held on Thursday October 29, 2009 11 :00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD. Haugh, Stephen A.

Mr. Stephen Alan Haugh, 54 of Westminster, MD, died November 2, 2009 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born in Frederick MD on September 7, 1955 he was the son of the late Ernest N. and Margaret E. (Hutchins) Haugh. He is predeceased by his wife of 18 years Leland Amber (Powell) Haugh. Surviving him is brother David Lee Haugh and his wife Donna of Mt. Airy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was a devoted nurse working at Carroll Hospital Center, leaving for a few years to devote his skills to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Most recently he was employed with Carroll Hospice. Steve was a former member of Lisbon and Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Companies. He was an avid NASCAR and Baltimore Ravens Fan. Funeral Services will be held Friday November 6, 2009 10:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with Chaplain David Bare of Carroll Hospice officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD. Lowrey, William H.

William Henry Lowrey 79 of Mount Airy, MD, died Monday November 2, 2009 at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson. He was the husband of Wanda L. (Moore) Lowrey. Mr. Lowrey was born September 25, 1930 in Howard County, MD the son of the late William Charles and Gertrude Lowrey. He retired from Howard County Public School System in 2005. Surviving in addition to his wife are Son and daughter –in-law William B. and Carolyn M. Lowrey of Mt. Airy, Daughters Debra L. Lowrey and Brenda K. Lowrey both of Mt. Airy. Brothers; Charles W., Stephen J. and Robert Lowrey. Grandchildren; Cynthia L. D’Amico and husband John, William C. Lowrey and wife Jennifer, Kristin L. Niessner and husband Ryan, Kraig G Demastus, Steven B Mullinix and wife Kara, Blake J Mullinix, Dylan R. Moore, Kelsey M. Moore. Great-grandchildren, Kelly L. D’Amico, Mack S. Mullinix, Cole B. Mullinix, William A. Lowrey and Jamison Niessner. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday November 5, 2009 11 AM at Lisbon United Methodist Church, 15875 Frederick Rd. Lisbon, MD 21765 with Rev. Lisa Bandel-Sparks officiating. Interment will be in Poplar Springs cemetery. Nace, Karen L.

Karen Louise Nace (nee Armetta), age 54, of Mt. Airy, died Wednesday November 11, 2009, at the Carroll Hospice, Inc.-Dove House in Westminster, MD. Loving wife for 34 years of Richard L. Nace, devoted mother of Ryan J. and Laura M. Nace, of Mt. Airy cherished daughter of Michael F. and Gloria Mary (Amadio)Armetta of Baltimore, precious sister of Rosemary Hopkins of Baltimore, caring daughter-in-law of Robert Nace of Kingsville. Karen was born July 26, 1955 in Baltimore, MD. Karen was a homemaker and part time kennel assistant having a great love and soft heart for any dog. She was an active member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church. She was secretary of the United Methodist Women, active member of the Mission Committee, Feed My Sheep soup kitchen, and alto in the church choir, taught Vacation Bible School, on the craft committee for the church bazaar with her dear friend Kim. She collected donations for the Appalachian Store, visited those in need delivering food and providing transportation to doctor's appointments and meetings. She was the anchor bowler for her team on the Tuesday morning Ladies bowling league and was an active volunteer for years when her children attended Mt Airy Elementary and Middle Schools running the book fair as well as being a bookstore volunteer at South Carroll High School. She enjoyed quilting classes, making quilts for those she loved. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend and will be missed by the many people who knew and loved her. Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 16, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Taylorsville U.M. Church, 4356 Ridge Road, Taylorsville, with Pastor Sarah B. Dorrance of Taylorsville U.M. Church officiating. Interment Taylorsville U.M. Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Karen requested that donations be made to the Mission Committee, Taylorsville United Methodist Church, 4356 Ridge Road, Mt Airy, MD 21771.
