Lavice W. Harrison (nee Woolard), age 90, of Eldersburg, formerly of Catonsville, died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Oakland Manor Assisted Living in Sykesville, Maryland. She was the loving wife of the late Samuel D. Harrison, devoted mother of Charles B. and Pat Harrison of Glen Burnie, Suzette H. and Cody Godman of Westminster, Stephen L. and Jackie Harrison of Eldersburg, dear sister of late Mary Addis and late Annie Gray Mullin, Loving Grandmother of six- Ben & Paula Harrison, Jonathan and Jenn Harrison, Andrew and Robin Harrison, Becky and Randy Eckrote, Beth and Justin King, Joshua and Carla Godman, and loving Great-Grandmother of thirteen-Jacob, Paul, Seth, Eden, Coby, Ella, Avery, Jenna, Sarah, Lauryn, Lainey, Audrey and Anna. She was born July 20, 1919 in Emmerton, VA the daughter of the late Lloyd Woolard and the late Annie Clarke Woolard. She was a homemaker and worked for the US Postal Service in Baltimore City for 10 years, She was a substitute teacher for the Baltimore City School System, and very active in Wesley Memorial U.M. Church in Catonsville. Friends may call the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA with Pastor Joe Duke of LifePoint Church officiating. Interment at Lorraine Park cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784.

Zampino, Mildred C.

Mildred Claire Zampino (nee Williams), age 89, of Unionville, MD., previously of Long Island, NY., and Fort Lee, NJ., died on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at her home. She was born on June 8, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY., the daughter of the late Walter Williams and the late Mildred Allen Dunlap. She was the loving wife of Charles Joseph Zampino of Berwick, PA., whom she met while both were students at the Traphagan School of Fashion in New York City. She was the mother of Rev. Philip Charles Zampino and his wife, Jean, of Unionville, grandmother of David Allen Zampino, Sr. of Delavan, WI., Bonnie Lynn Zampino, and Mark Andrew Zampino, Sr., both of Harpers Ferry, WV., and great-grandmother of 15. A veteran of World War II, she served as a draftsman in the Army Signal Corps, and was a member of American Legion Post 11 in Frederick. She was also a member of the D.A.R. in Nassau County, Long Island, NY. Mrs. Zampino was a vital member of Jesus, Our Shepherd Anglican Church (formerly Life in Jesus). As an avid Christian, she was active in sharing her faith through Bible Studies and personal witness, and had a strong prayer ministry. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Monday, November 16, 2009, at Jesus, Our Shepherd Church, 13830 Saint Benedict Way (near Unionville). Friends may call on Sunday from 7 to 9 PM at Jesus, Our Shepherd Church. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15, Frederick, following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Jesus, Our Shepherd Church, P.O. Box 40 Libertytown, MD. 21762.

Kimmel, Dennis S.

Dennis S. Kimmel, age 55, of New Windsor, died Thursday, November 12, 2009, at his home. He was born February 16, 1954, in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late Victor Kimmel and the late Dorothy Reisig (nee Moore). He was the husband of Sheryn A. Kimmel (nee Zaruba). Father of Devin Kimmel of Annapolis, Sean Bennett of New Windsor. Brother of Jimmy Kimmel of Colora, MD and Terry Kimmel of Severna Park, and loving grandfather of Garrett Kimmel. He was a Sheet metal foreman for Sagamore Mechanical Contractors Company. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School). A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Taylorsville United Methodist Church, 4356 Ridge Road, with the church pastor, Rev. Sarah B. Dorrence, officiating. Krautler, Evelyn

Evelyn Saunders Krautler, 84 of Woodbine formerly of Silver Spring, MD, died Friday November 13, 2009 at the Dove House in Westminster, MD. She was the spouse of 52 years to William H. Krautler, Jr. She was born March 28, 1925 in Silver Spring, MD. Mrs. Krautler was a Beautician in Silver Spring. A Champion Duck Pin Bowler that at one time was ranked #7 in the country, she was the first Woman ever to win the Bill Wood Bowling Tournament. Mrs. Krautler also enjoyed Sewing, Needlepoint and Crocheting, was a very good cook and enjoyed taking care of her husband. Surviving her is Daughter: Diane Ashelford and Son: William H. Krautler, III, 6 grandchildren: Edward Michael Ashelford, James Robert Ashelford, Carol Lynn Ashelford, Jim Baker Krautler, Bill H. Krautler, IV, and Mark Gordon Krautler. Funeral Services will take place Wednesday November 18, 2009 11 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with viewing 1 hour prior to service from 10-11 AM. Interment will be in Morgan Chapel cemetery Woodbine, MD.

Fleming, Howard A.

Howard A. Fleming 81 of Woodbine, MD, died Monday November 16, 2009 at Dove House. He was the spouse of Virginia (Long) Fleming of Woodbine. He was born November 1, 1928 in Woodbine, MD the son of the late Fred Fleming and the late Mary Belle (Pickett) Fleming. He worked on his father’s farm in Woodbine and then at MD Bolt and Nut as a machinist in MT . Washington, then ATI in Woodlawn. He enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers. He was a member of Morgan Chapel UMC. Surviving in addition to his wife are Daughter and Son-in-law Cindy and Raymond Baker of Woodbine. Sisters: Mary Louise Ruby of Collagedale, TN, Betty Lou Conrad of Linwood, MD, Cordelia Mullinix of Georgia, Grandchildren: Frank L. Simpson IV and Amber L. Muriel, Great-Grandchildren: Bella Muriel, Kaylah Simpson, Frank L. Simpson, V. and Ciera Simpson Predeceased by Brothers: Ernest E. Fleming, Lawrence O. Fleming and Norman F. Fleming, Sister: Helen Fleming Knight. Funeral Services will be held Friday November 20, 2009 11 AM at Morgan Chapel United Methodist Church, 6750 Woodbine Rd. Woodbine, MD 21797 with the Rev. Lauritzen, Kurt C.

Kurt C. Lauritzen, 59, of Sykesville, MD, died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the home of his dear friend Judith Nave in Mt. Airy, MD. He was born July 30, 1950 in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He was the son of the late Hermann C. Lauritzen and the late Marguerite (Knight) Lauritzen. He was a self-employed contractor in Carroll County for 39 years. Kurt was an avid horseman and team roper. He enjoyed outdoor cooking for his friends and family. He is survived by son Kjeld Lauritzen and his fiancé Alisha Brown of Owings Mills, MD and son and daughter-in-law, Keir and Catherine Lauritzen of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by sisters Solveig Smith of Marston, MD and Herdis Moser of Manchester, MD and brother James Reed of Woodbridge, VA. Gathering of family and friends will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Private interment. Fleming, Donald E.

Donald Edward Fleming 88 of Mt. Airy, MD died Sunday November 22, 2009 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was married for 59 years to Mary Elizabeth (Welsh) Fleming. He was born November 7, 1921 in Woodbine, MD the son of the late Edward and Late Nettie Virginia Fleming. Mr. Fleming was a Veteran of the US Army serving during WWII in the CBI Theatre. He worked for Van Sant Plumbing and heating in the 1950’s and then was self employed before going on to work for Montgomery County School Board as a HVAC Mechanic . He enjoyed Woodworking and gardening and Hunting. He received the Pilgrim degree from the Frederick Moose Chapter. He also used to enjoy going to the Mt. Airy Rod and Gun Club. Surviving in addition to his wife are Children and their spouses: Donna and Larry Ecker of Thurmont, Thomas and Peggy Fleming of Mt. Airy. Sisters Hilda Morris of Centerville, Arta Hawkins of Upper Marlboro and Doris Jaeger of Mt. Airy, Grandchildren: Christopher and wife Brennen Ecker of Thurmont, Tricia Fleming of Millington, Erin and husband Jason Lawrence of Frederick, Donnie and wife Tiffany Fleming of Westminster. Great-grandchildren: Casey and Olivia Ecker, Caitlin Fleming, Keegan Winchester and Abigail Lawrence. Leroy Joseph Nickoles, 69, of Taylorsville-Winfield Community, died Saturday, November 28, 2009. He was born April 7, 1940 in Carroll County MD. The son of the late Victor J. and late Mary Elizabeth (Luers) Nickoles. Mr. Nickoles was a heavy equipment operator for Nickoles and Warner Excavating. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, collecting and restoring Antique Tractors. He was a member of the Westminster Moose and the Littlestown Eagles. Surviving him are loving friend Sharon Sharp, Son and Daughter-in-law Rick and Mary Nickoles of Manchester, 4 Grandchildren, 2 Great-grandchildren, Brothers and Sisters: Edward F. Nickoles, Mary Gordon, Patricia Lee Doyle, Thomas W. Nickoles, Ruth A. Burns, Punky, Diane Wisniewski. Preceded in death by brother Victor J. Dearest Daughter of Gail Patricia Douglas and the late Romeo Munoz. She had worked for a Defense Contract Auditing Agency. Loving Granddaughter of Mary Douglas. Devoted mother of Aaron Seiler and Jacob Hannah. Dear Sister of Catherine Munoz and Michael Munoz. Also survived by many loving friends and family.
