Patricia A. Merena (nee Callahan), age 64, of Sykesville, died on Sunday December 6, 2009 at Carroll Hospice, Inc.-Dove House in Westminster, MD. She was the daughter of Frank Callahan and Charlotte Grygo Callahan of Wilmington, Delaware. She was born May 25, 1945 in Wilmington, Delaware. She was a housewife. She worked as a secretary for State Farm Insurance Company for 20 years. She was the wife of Joseph M. Merena of Sykesville. She was the mother of Michele Fiorino of Sykesville and Theresa Clark of Sykesville. She was the sister of Victor Callahan of Wilmington, DE, Felix Callahan of Arizona, Rosemary Callahan of Wilmington, DE, and Ann Callahan of Wilmington, DE. Loving grandmother of Gabrielle Clark, Rebecca Clark and Alexis Fiorino. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Private Inurnment. Celebration of Life service at a later date. Herbold, III, Charles F.

Charles F. Herbold, III, age 63, of Westminster, died Sunday December 6, 2009 at Maryland General Hospital, Baltimore, MD. He was born January 1, 1946 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Charles F. Herbold, Jr. and the late Dorothy Z. Herbold (nee Ziegler). He was an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance Company. He served in the Navy. He was an avid sportsman and memorabilia collector and he loved the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Colts. He was the father of Blake A. Herbold of Westminster. He was the former husband of Darla H. Herbold of Westminster. He was the brother of Peggy Fessler of Walkersville. He will also be remembered by Cousins Ed Herbold and Rand Forder and special friend Tim Ruppalt. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Ed Herbold and Rev. Rand Forder officiating. Inurnment at Lorraine Park cemetery. Dillon, Carrie E.

Carrie Ellen Dillon 85 of Sykesville, MD formerly of Randallstown, died Saturday December 12, 2009 at the Dove House. She was born December 7, 1924 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late John Edward Myers and the late Hattie Marie (Ruppert ) Myers. She was retired fro the MD State Police after 27 years as an Accounting Manager. She enjoyed Gardening, Family and Traveling. Surviving her are Son Calvin L. Dillon of Westminster, Son and daughter-in-law John and Jane Dillon of Monkton, Daughter and Son-in-law Shirley M. and Gary Hodges of Sykesville, Sister Katherine “Reety” Wood of Boulder, CO 5 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by Son Robert E. Dillon. The family will receive friends on Wednesday December 16, 2009 10 to 11 AM when Funeral Services will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. Interment Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD. Those desiring may make contributions to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave, Westminster, MD 21157.

Kelly, James E.

James E. Kelly 68 of New Windsor, died Monday December 14, 2009 at home after an extended Illness. He was the spouse of Mary Ann ( Morris ) Kelly of New Windsor, MD. He was born May 28, 1941 in Shamokin, PA the son of the late Robert Kelly and the late Veronica (Robel) Kelly. He was retired Stone and Marble Mason for Local #1. Surviving in addition to his wife are Daughter and Son-in-law Melinda and James Platt of New Windsor, 2 Granddaughters: Erica and Miranda Platt, Brother: Robert Kelly of NJ, Sister: Diane Worhacz of PA . Preceded in death by Brother : Albert Kelly. There will be a Gathering of Friends on Saturday December 19, 2009 4 to 6 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.

Blunt, Jr., Thomas R.

Thomas Ringgold Blunt, Jr., 84 of Granite, MD, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at his home in Granite MD. He was born March 11, 1925 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Thomasine Atherton Blunt and Thomas Ringgold Blunt, Sr. Preceded in death by spouses Nancy and Eva Blunt and Son Bradley R. Blunt. Mr. Blunt served during WWII as an Army Ranger Company 5E. He was a member of the MD Farm Bureau, MD Horse Breeders Assoc. and the MD Jockey Club. A Long standing member of Granite Presbyterian Church. He was the caretaker for over 40 years for Granite Presbyterian Church cemetery. He bred and raised Thoroughbred Horses on his family farm in Granite, MD. He is survived by son Thomas A. Blunt, Daughter and son-in-law Deborah A. and Timothy Groves, Son and Daughter-in-law Thomas D. and Cindy Gress, Daughter and Son-in-law Susan and John Kruger, Daughter Vina Gress, Step-daughters Jan Davis and Carol Beal. 10 Grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Devoted companion of Helen Zumbrun. Friends may call on Friday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. Funeral Services will take place Saturday December 19, 2009 11:00 AM at Granite Presbyterian Church, 10637 Old Court Rd. Woodstock, MD 21163. Their will be a viewing from 10-11AM at church. Widerman, Charles L.

Charles Leroy Widerman 81 of Randallstown, died Wednesday December 16, 2009 at his home in Randallstown, MD. He was born June 15, 1928 in Randallstown, MD the son of the late Mary and Late Charles L. Widerman, Sr. He was the spouse of Lucille Widerman (nee Subock) of 56 years. Mr. Widerman served in the US ARMY and then began his employment as an Automotive Parts Counter man until 1964 when he started Charlie’s Camping Center renting and selling RV’s. When the industry was new he was director of newly organized National Recreational Vehicle Assoc. and Served as an Officer and Director and then was Co-Founder of MD Recreational Vehicle Dealers Assoc and served as an Officer and Director. His wife and all 3 Children worked with him at his Dealership. He designed, drew the plans and built present RV Building on Liberty R. He has enjoyed many travel trips to other countries as well as RV Trips He was a Life Long Member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church. Surviving him in addition to his wife are Daughter Brenda Widerman, Daughter and Son-in-law Linda and Mark Baskette, Son and Daughter-in-law Keith and Amy Widerman. Grandchildren Brian and Kara Widerman, Stephen Deitz and Megan Baskette. Predeceased by Brother William A Widerman. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 12 Noon at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212, W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday 6 to 8 PM and Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Haines, Eva G.

Eva G. Haines (nee Magin), age 95, of Westminster, MD died Saturday December 19, 2009, at Ridge Overlook in Westminster. She was the wife of Walter T. ‘Bud” Haines of Westminster. She was a presser for Wrights and English American for 35 years. She was a member of Taylorsville U.M. Church. She Loved Gardening. She was born August 12, 1914 the daughter of the late George W. Magin and the late Florence Wright Magin. She was the sister of Ella Goodwin of Westminster and the late George H. Magin, late Hilda Baker, late Fred, Wilbur, Donald, Francis and Ruth Magin. Also survived by sister in laws Dorothy Rhoten of Manchester and Margaret Bair of Westminster. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, (Beside South Carroll High School) on Tuesday from 4-7PM. Interment Taylorsville U.M. Church cemetery, Taylorsville, MD. Funeral Service will be Wednesday December 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA with Rev. Rollins Johnson officiating. Virginia Brantley (nee Witte ) 86 of Granite MD, died Friday December 25, 2009 at Siani Hospital. Beloved Wife of 40 years to the late Lewis S. Brantley. Mrs. Brantley was born September 13, 1923 in Baltimore, MD. The daughter of the late Frederick Witte and the late Emma C. (Hunter) Witte. Mrs. Brantley was a 1941 Graduate of Franklin High School. Devoted Mother of Brian and wife Nancy Brantley of Windsor Mill, John and wife Susan Brantley of Windsor Mill, Bryant Brantley of Rosedale, Lewellyn “Corkey” and wife Janelle Brantley Lagrange, OH. Loving Sister of Franklin and wife Lynn Witte of Salisbury, Freda and Jack Creekmore of Palm Beach, FL. Devoted Mother of the late Nancy Nash and Husband Dale, Helen Sanford and Husband Charles. Robert Ruppert and wife Theresa, Carolyn Byrnes and husband Ronald. Loving Sister of Marie Smith, the late Edith Ruppert and the late Vergie Ruppert. Also survived by 7 Grandchildren, 14 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-grandson Grandson. She was born August 4, 1927 in Washington, D.C. the daughter of the late Joseph W. Caw and the late Mary Rose(Barnes) Caw. She was a Retired Cafeteria Worker for Montgomery County Schools, Loved to Crochet, Was an active member and volunteered in various ways for her church, Millian Memorial United Methodist. Surviving her are Son and Daughter-in-law L. Patrick and Lauri Ricker of Hagerstown, Daughter and Son-in-law Colleen and Rick Deitrich of Woodbine, Son and Daughter-in-law Richard and Phyllis Ricker of Mt. Airy, Son and Daughter-in-law Joseph and Lee Ricker of Palm Coast, FL, Daughter and Son-in-law Laura and Eric Stancliff of Mt. Airy, Sister Rosemary Fling of Mt. Airy, Brother Joseph Caw of Poolesville, 14 Grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by Sister Betty Peele. She was born January 2, 1925 in Libertytown, MD the daughter of the late Harvey Lee Horton and the late Fannie Mae (Fogle) Horton. Ms. Rippeon was a Seamstress for CB Sports in North Adams, MA. She is preceded in death by Brother Joseph Horton, Half Sisters Helen and Gladys Esworthy, Carrie Smith, Mary Grapes and Hallie Thomas. Surviving her is Sisters Ruth Metz of New Market and Dorothy Harding of Mt. Airy. Also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday December 31, 2009 11 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.
