Edna E. Harp

MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Edna Elizabeth "Betty" Harp, 93, formerly of 210 Prospect St., died Friday, July 18, 1997, at Homewood Retirement in Frederick, Md.

Born May 24, 1904, in Brooklyn, Md., she was the daughter of the late William E. and Margaret Hossfeld Muhly.

Her husband, Dr. J. Elmer Harp, died in 1976.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown.

She is survived by one daughter, Jane Elizabeth Harp of East Point, Ga.; one niece and one nephew.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. The Rev. Donald L. Turley will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Middletown.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the building fund of Zion Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 306, Middletown, Md. 21769.

Wilbur L. Triggs

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Wilbur Lee Triggs, 75, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, July 20, 1997, at his home.

Born April 7, 1922, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Arthur M. and Vallie E. Adams Triggs.

He retired from Standard Quarry and also worked as a farmer.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Full Gospel Church in Martinsburg.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Goldie L. James Triggs; one daughter, Hilda Peggs of Inwood, W.Va.; two sons, William L. Triggs of Inwood, and Leonard R. Triggs of Martinsburg; one brother, Roy Triggs of Martinsburg; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one infant brother.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel in Martinsburg. The Rev. Raymond Jones and the Rev. Charles Triggs will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 2015 Boyd Orchard Road, Martinsburg, W.Va. 25401; Full Gospel Church, 2098 Church Road, Martinsburg, W.Va. 25401; or to the charity of one's choice.

Roy L. Wallace

FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Roy L. Wallace, 68, of Falling Waters, died Saturday, July 19, 1997, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.

Born Dec. 14, 1928, in War, W.Va., he was the son of the late David and Mary Carroll Wallace.

He was a painter.

He served in the U.S. Marines.

He is survived by six daughters, Brenda Wallace of Bland, Va., Anita June Zitzman, Darlene Midyett, Debbie Curtis, Maxine Burkes and Wanda White, all of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Michael Wallace, of Falling Waters, with whom he resided, and Kenneth Wallace of Princeton, W.Va.; one brother, Fred Wallace of Mohawk, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Della Tuttle and Stella York; and five brothers, Orey Wallace, Burt Wallace, Lesley Wallace, Tommy Wallace and Leon Wallace.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Anna M. Barron

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Anna Mae Barron, 86, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, July 19, 1997, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Sept. 30, 1910, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Levi and Mary Olsen Corder.

Her husband, Charles Melvin Barron, died in 1960.

She was a homemaker, and previously worked as a seasonal worker at C.L. Musselman Co. in Inwood, W.Va.

She was a member of Church of the Brethren in Inwood.

She is survived by one daughter, Geneva L. O'Connell of Martinsburg; one son, Edward L. Barron of Martinsburg; three grandchildren, Danny O'Connell, Timothy O'Connell and Lee Anna Barron; one great-granddaughter and four great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Myrtle E. Smaltz, Pearl Lally, Gertrude Frye and Catherine Cave; two brothers, Levi Corder and Franklin Corder; and an infant grandson.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town, W.Va. The Rev. Jim Peyton will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.

Friends will be received at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Bonita F. Ommert

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Bonita F. "Bonnie" Ommert, 53, of 2050 Philadelphia Ave., died Friday, July 18, 1997, at the home of her mother.

Born Aug. 14, 1943, in Chambersburg, she is the daughter of Jean W. Wingerd Finafrock of Chambersburg and the late Raymond "Bill" C. Finafrock.

She was a 1961 graduate of St. Thomas High School and graduated from Waynesboro Business School.

She was employed as an office manager for Franklin County Assessment Office in Chambersburg for 29 years.

She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Williamson, Pa.

She also was a member and treasurer of Soroptimist International in Chambersburg, a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 612 in St. Thomas, and a former member of Women of the Moose 842 in Chambersburg and BPO Elks 600 Auxiliary in Chambersburg.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Donald L. Ommert, whom she married Aug. 16, 1964; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Williamson. The Rev. Alan R. Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in St. Thomas, Pa.

A viewing will be at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, c/o Box 20, Williamson, Pa. 17270; or to Soroptimist International c/o Nancy Van Buskirk, 960 Nelson St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.

Wayne L. Routson

Wayne L. Routson, 51, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, July 20, 1997, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., Dec. 20, 1945, he was the son of Harry Milton Routson Jr. and the late Phyllis M. Routson.

He attended college for four years.

He was a manager of manufacturing.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict, serving with the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion in Hagerstown.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Klusewitz Routson; one daughter, Heather L. Routson of Hagerstown; one son, Mark L. Routson of Hagerstown; two sisters, Lynn S. Kentner and Joyce C. Ey; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road, Towson, Md. Pastor Gunter Schwab will officiate. Burial will be in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium, Md.

A visitation will be at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., North, Hagerstown, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.; and at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Leukemia Society of American Inc., Maryland Chapter, One Spinners Court, Randallstown, Md. 21133.

Ruth B. Wentz

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Ruth Book Wentz, 98, of 1075 Old Harrisburg Road, and formerly of Blain, Pa., and Biglerville, Pa., died Friday, July 18, 1997, at Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village.

Born Aug. 20, 1898, in Huntington, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William H. and Margaret E. Fleming Book.

Her husband, Robert P. Wentz, died in 1954.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Biglerville.

She was a life-time member of Biglerville Garden Club.

She is survived by three sons, Donald Wentz of Orrtanna, Pa., Wayne Wentz of Hagerstown and Edwin Wentz of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Biglerville. The Rev. Joel L. Zeiders will officiate. Burial will be in Blain Cemetery in Blain, Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Memorial donations may be made to Gettysburg Lutheran Home, 1075 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, Pa. 17325.

Arrangements are by Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg.

Edith C. Fegan

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Edith C. Fegan, 101, of Shook Home, 55 S. 2nd St., and formerly of Rustic Hill Drive, Chambersburg, died Friday, July 18, 1997, at Shook Home.

Born March 14, 1896, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mary D. Dimler Kimple.

Her husband, Leo C. Fegan, died in 1948.

She was employed as a licensed practical nurse by Chambersburg Hospital for 14 years, retiring in 1964.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg.

She was the founder and first president of the National Council of Catholic Women in Chambersburg; and a member of Franklin County License Practical Nurse Association.

She is survived by four sisters, Anna Johnson of Eugene, Ore., M. Veronica Keefer and Martha Jane Sclichter, both of Chambersburg, and Lauretta Myers of Louisville, Ky.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Fegan; three sisters and three brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, with Monsignor Thomas R. Brenner, as celebrant. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Chambersburg.

A viewing will be at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m., with a recitation of the Rosary at 8 p.m.

S. Etter Sr.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Raymond S. Etter Sr., 78, of 2075 Scotland Ave., and formerly of Quincy, Pa., died Friday, July 18, 1997, at Menno-Haven in Chambersburg.

Born Dec. 9, 1918, in Grindstone Hill, Guilford Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Daniel S. and Bessie Gushard Etter.

His wife, Mary E. Stoops Etter, died in 1972.

He was employed with Landis Tool Co. for 43 years, retiring in 1982. He was a machine operator.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Quincy.

He also was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 in Waynesboro; Patriotic Order, Sons of America, Washington Camp 665 in Quincy; Quincy Ox Roast Association; and Whirly Birds Square Dancing Club and Gad-A-Bouts Square Dancing Club, both in Chambersburg.

He is survived by one daughter, Darlene S. Schreffler of Daytona Beach, Fla.; three sons, Raymond S. Etter Jr. of Fayetteville, Pa., Larry O. Etter and Wayne A. Etter, both of Waynesboro; one sister, Florence Etter Foose of Chambersburg; one brother, Norman Etter of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Suzanne P. Perez will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.

A viewing will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 8496 Anthony Highway, Quincy, Pa. 17247.
