Edgar T. Stotler

BOONSBORO - Edgar T. Stotler, 73, of 17210 Bakersville Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Feb. 11, 1924, in Leitersburg, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Anna Rudisill Stotler.

He was a retired mechanic with Hall's Motor Transit.

He was a member of Teamsters Local 992 of Hagerstown.

He was a member of South Mountain Relic and Coin Club.

He is survived by two daughters, Roxanna R. Snyder of Highspire, Pa., and Lori L. Morris of Elizabethtown, Pa.; two sons, Harry L. Stotler of Williamsport and Randy D. Smith of Sharpsburg; four sisters, Betty Flook-Miller, with whom he resided, Lorraine Hargett-Flook of Frederick, Md., Doris M. Rutherford of Boonsboro, and Audrey Lowery of Pierpont, Ohio; seven brothers, Charles Stotler of Charles Town, W.Va., William Stotler and Joseph Stotler, both of Boonsboro, George Stotler of Fairplay, Howard Stotler of Keedysville and Harold Stotler and Clyde Stotler, both of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The Rev. James E. Swecker will officiate.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.

David H. Duckett Jr.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - David Hassan Duckett Jr., infant son of David Hassan Duckett and Renita Lynn Williams of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Aug. 24 ,1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two great-grandmothers, Virginia White of Martinsburg and Josephine Williams; maternal grandparents, Diane Williams and David Lawrence Butler; and paternal grandparents, Delores Duckett of Greenville, S.C., and David Bernard White of East Orange, N.J.

Graveside services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Charles W. Iden

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Charles W. Iden, 57, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997, in IHS Nursing Home, Charles Town, W.Va.

Born Sept. 11, 1939, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Jessie and Lucille Hewett Iden.

He was retired from Badger Powhatan Co.

He is survived by two daughters, Theresa Wetterhan and Catherine Iden, both of Falls Church, Va.; one sister, Carolyn Hampshire of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; five brothers, Richard Iden and Wayne Hewett, both of Bayville, N.J., David Iden and Jack Iden, both of Ranson, W.Va., and Gary Iden of Martinsburg; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Gerald W. Doub

WILLIAMSPORT - Gerald Weaver Doub, 68, of 16921 Sterling Road, died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Jan. 22, 1929, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late George Daniel and Mary Kathryn Weaver Doub.

He was a self-employed carpenter for 21 years. He was later employed by McCleary & Earley for 21 years. He retired in 1989.

He was a member of Antietam Fire Co. and AARP.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsport, where he also was a member of Dale Anderson Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Virginia Snook Doub; two sons, Garry M. Doub of Greencastle, Pa., and Dennis S. Doub of Hagerstown; three sisters, Josephine Leiter of Gig Harbor, Wash., Vivian Jackson of San Antonio, Texas, and Donna Nungesser of Woodbridge, Va.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel R. Doub and George D. Doub.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. W. Gregory Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Catherine D. Ruble

Catherine D. Ruble, 96, of Beaver Creek, who died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997, also is survived by a niece, Cathy Blickenstaff of Hagerstown.

Dorothy B. Wishard

SMITHSBURG - Dorothy Bowman Wishard, 67, of 23530 Foxville Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997, at her home after an extended illness.

Born April 10, 1930, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Otis C. Pryor and Amanda J. Justice Pryor.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John H. Bowman, who died Aug. 14, 1970.

She lived her early life in the Waynesboro area.

She was employed by Sylvania Shoe Factory, Waynesboro. She was previously employed by Waynesboro Knitting Mill.

She bowled on leagues at D.J. Bowling Lanes, Waynesboro, and Sunshine Lanes, Waynesboro.

She is survived by her second husband, Robert M. Wishard, whom she married May 25, 1973; one son, John E. Bowman of Hagerstown; three sisters, Louella Moser of York, Pa., Jane Rowland of Rouzerville, Pa., and Shirley Kauffman of Waynesboro; one brother, Fred Pryor of McKeesport, Pa.; one grandson; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Mann and Thelma Thomas; and one brother, Donald Pryor.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Bryan Bailey will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Pleasant Valley Road, Smithsburg.

Family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wilfred T. Tumbusch

LEWES, Del. - Wilfred T. Tumbusch, M.D., 80, of 5 Sandpiper Drive, Baybreeze, died of respiratory failure Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997, at Life Care at Lofland Park, Del.

He was born Oct. 29, 1916, in Dayton, Ohio.

He was a graduate of Ohio State University and St. Louis University Medical School.

He was a doctor of medicine, specializing in plastic surgery.

He retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of colonel in 1973 after 30 years of service. He served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Following his retirement, he was medical director at Western Maryland Center from 1973-1984.

He was a member of American Medical Association, Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the Society of Head and Neck Surgeons.

He received the Legion of Merit.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lillian M. Tumbusch; one daughter, Anne E. Hayes of Bruington, Va.; and two sons, Richard E. Tumbusch of Pennsville, N.J., and Wilfred T. Tumbusch of Lake Mead, Pa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Judes Catholic Church, 1449 Kings Highway, Lewes. The Rev. Philip Sheekey will be celebrant. Burial, with full military honors, will be at 3 p.m. in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.

Arrangements are by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

Kathleen D. Hetzel

BOONSBORO - Services for Kathleen Delores Hetzel, 65, of 705 Orchard Manor Drive, who died Tuesday, Aug. 26, will be private and for the family only.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.

Alice R. Ott

A memorial service for Alice Rita Ott, 79, of 13303 Fairfax Road, Hagerstown, who died May 29, 1997, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Beaver Creek Cemetery, 9711 Beaver Creek Road, Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate.

Arrangements are by Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home.

Edwin L. Stoops

ZULLINGER, Pa. - Edwin L. Stoops, 71, of 11858 Grace St., died Monday, Aug. 25, at Harrisburg General Hospital, Harrisburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Pa.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Antrim Brethren in Christ Church, 24 Kauffman Road, Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.

Bettie L. Chaney

KEEDYSVILLE - Bettie Lee Chaney, 74, of 19402 Porterstown Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997, at Western Maryland Hospital Center, Hagerstown.

Born Dec. 22, 1922, in Western Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Lottie Stevens turner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Chaney, who died June 2, 1997.

She was a homemaker. She was previously employed by Londontown Manufacturing.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by five daughters, Joanne Kendle of Hagerstown, Sylvia Knott of Boonsboro, Shirley V. Rowe of Maugansville and Judy Rowe and Nellie Edblute, both of Sharpsburg; two sons, Ronald Chaney of Boonsboro and Donald Chaney of Sharpsburg; two brothers, Gilbert turner of Kernesville, N.C., and Max Turner of West Point, Va.; 25 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Fred Chaney Jr.; two sisters, Sylvia White and June Green; and one brother, Clifford Turner.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Reese E. Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.

Herbert K. Reilly

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Herbert K. Reilly, 77, of 416 Park Circle, formerly of Washington Street, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997, at Franklin County Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Born Sept. 2, 1919, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late William F. Reilly and Mary C. Ridgley Reilly.

He was employed as a truck driver for various companies for 60 years, retiring in 1983.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, 11th Transportation Battalion, 3rd Amphibious Corps, in the Asiatic Pacific Theater from Nov. 6, 1944, to May 14, 1946.

He was a member of Landis-McCleaf Detachment Marine Corps League, Chambersburg.

He is survived by his wife, Grace C. Musser Reilly, whom he married Jan. 20, 1940; three daughters, Helen Kramer of Fayetteville, Pa., M. Jane Chismar of Chambersburg and Kathy Fry of Oak Harbor, W.Va.; three sons, Herbert K. Reilly Jr. and Robert J. Reilly, both of Chambersburg and William E. Reilly of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Martha Stewart of Winona, Miss., and Helen Carlson of Menominee, Mich.; two brothers, Garnet Reilly of Hagerstown and Paul Reilly of Kingsport, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, June Hollar; and one grandson.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

There will be no viewing.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Paul A. Wengert Sr.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Paul A. Wengert Sr., 88, a resident of Menno Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of Rowe Run Road, Chambersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997, at the home.

Born May 31, 1909, in Orrstown, Pa., he was the son of the late John Wengert and Sarah Sollenberger Wengert.

He was a farmer. He was previously employed by the former Penn Hall School, Chambersburg; Chambersburg Area School District, Chambersburg; and Nibble with Gibble's, Chambersburg.

He was a member of Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg, where he served on church board and various other committees.

He was a member of Pennsylvania Farmer's Association; and volunteered at Camp Joy-El, Greencastle, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Rhoda W. Musser Wengert, a resident of Menno Haven Nursing Home, whom he married Jan. 9, 1930; two daughters, Mary E. Alleman of Chambersburg and Helen M. Glick of Massillon, Ohio; two sons, Paul A. Wengert Jr. of New Cumberland, Pa., and J. Nelson Wengert of Chambersburg; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, 7041 Cumberland Highway, Chambersburg. The Rev. John L. Bundy will officiate. Burial will be in Air Hill Cemetery, Chambersburg.

A viewing will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg; and one hour prior to services at the church.
