Wayne F. Johnson
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Wayne F. "Skeets" Johnson, 55, of 991 Knob Hill Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997, at his home.
Born Nov. 20, 1941, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Wayne A. Johnson and Elizabeth Drotleff Johnson.
He was a 1959 graduate of Chambersburg High School, Chambersburg, Pa.
He owned and operated with his wife U.S. Perma Shield and Rite Spot Motel and Restaurant, Fayetteville. He previously was employed by Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle, Pa.; and Chambersburg Engineering Co., Chambersburg.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fayetteville.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Gilbert Johnson, whom he married Oct. 6, 1963; one daughter, Traci Zajcevski of Glen Rock, Pa.; and one sister, Kay Trail of Downingtown, Pa.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 33 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. David L. Hefner will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
There will be no viewing.

Ethel M. Herr
BOONSBORO - Ethel Mae Herr, 78, of 8 Ford Ave., and more recently a resident of Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home, Boonsboro, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 18, 1918, at Antietam, she was the daughter of the late William and Lola Shumaker Ebersole.
She had retired from Londontown Manufacturing, Boonsboro.
She was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, Boonsboro, where she was a member of the Women's Guild and choir. She was a pianist, a past consistory member and taught Sunday school for more than 40 years.
She was a member of Boonsboro Lionness Club; and past president of ladies auxiliary to Boonsboro Volunteer Fire Co.
She is survived by her husband, John Luther Herr, whom she married Oct. 13, 1937; one daughter, Cynthia K. Shaw of Boonsboro; one son, Kenneth E. Herr of Boonsboro; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Ebersole, Matthew Ebersole and David Ebersole; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ. The Rev. Kenneth Harrington will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Lucille G. Lotko
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Lucille G. Lotko, 92, a resident at Shook Home, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997, at the home.
Born Nov. 6, 1904, in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Cyril Rogal and Julia Urbanski Rogal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Lotko, who died May 14, 1992.
She had been a resident of Chambersburg for four years. Prior to living in Chambersburg she had resided in Gary, Ind.; Port Washington, Wis.; and Leesburg, Fla.
With her husband, she was owner and operator of several furniture stores.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg.
She is survived by one sister, Helen McCarthy of Chicago; two granddaughters, Julilee Lasak of Broomall, Pa., and Cheryl Shoemaker of Chambersburg; two grandsons, Michael Werteen of Allentown, Pa., and John Werteen of Chambersburg; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lila J. Werteen.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Thomas R. Brenner will be celebrant. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery, Chambersburg.
There will be no viewing.

Lloyd Spalding
GLENDALE, Ariz. - Lloyd "Danny" Spalding, 63, of Glendale, died Friday, Aug. 15, 1997, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Born Feb. 11, 1934, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Helen Fogle Spalding.
He was employed as food service manager by Arizona State Hospital.
He was a veteran.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Frances Darlington Spalding; one daughter, Pamela Paterakis; four sisters, Joanne, Romaine, Helen and Bonnie; three brothers, Wayne, Charles and Blaine; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church, Baker Heights, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Darrius A. Fetterhoff
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Darrius A. Fetterhoff, 58, of 317 E. Grant St, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 11, 1939, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Arthur H. and Ethel M. Frank Fetterhoff.
He was a 1957 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School.
He was employed by Copper Kettle Restaurant, Chambersburg, Pa. He was previously employed by Fairchild Plant, Hagerstown; Bowen-McLaughlin Co, York, Pa.; and Buckhorn Restaurant, Greencastle.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, where he held perfect Sunday School attendance for more than 40 years.
He was a member of Greencastle Sportsmen's Association; Rescue Hose Co. 1, Greencastle; Marion Volunteer Fire Co.; and life member of MMPW Fire Co., Mercersburg, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Lois I. Daugherty Fetterhoff, whom he married March 29, 1964; and one brother, Wilton Fetterhoff of Greencastle.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Jay Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edgar T. Stotler
BOONSBORO - Edgar T. Stotler, 73, of 17210 Bakersville Road, who died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997, served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and was preceded in death by one brother, Richard D. Stotler.
Anita L. Scott
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Anita L. Scott, 75, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born July 9, 1922, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry P. and Catherine Chincarini Lord Sr.
She was a 1940 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
She retired as assistant manager of FAA Records Center, Martinsburg. She was previously employed by Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, as a secretary.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
She was a member of NARFE; AARP; and volunteered in Opequon Elementary School's office.
She is survived by her husband, Frank V. Scott Sr., at home; one daughter, Kelly Elizabeth Wright of Martinsburg; two sons, Frank V. Scott Jr. of Vienna, Va., and Christopher L. Scott of Harrisburg, Pa.; two sisters, Margaret L. Bodine and Joan L. Ciccone, both of Sebring, Fla.; one brother, Harry P. Lord of Sebring, Fla.; a stepbrother, Charles P. Lord of Des Moines, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one half-sister, Gertrude Creque; and one half-brother, Lyle J. Lord.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rev. John V. DiBacco Jr. will be celebrant. Burial prayers will be in Tuscarora Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m. where a vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m.
The family will meet at the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. before going to the church.
Theodore R. Zarfos
FREDERICK, Md. - Theodore Reid Zarfos, 67, of Frederick, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick.
Born April 8, 1930, in Red Lion, Pa., he was the son of the late Morgan C. and Helen R. Hilderbrand Zarfos.
He was a 1947 graduate of Boonsboro High School, Boonsboro.
He was retired from East Alco Aluminum, Frederick. He was previously employed by Fairchild Aircraft and Pangborn Corp.
He served in U.S. Air Force, earning the rank of airman first class. He served in U.S. and Greenland from 1949 to 1951 and during the Korean War.
He was past president of North American Rod and Gun Club; and past vice-commander of American Legion Boonsboro Post 10.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Zarfos; one daughter, Kristen A. Zarfos-Vasiliou of Deep River, Conn.; three sisters, Norva Shenberger of Felton, Pa., Carolyn Poff of Red Lion and Linda Blauser of Emigsville, Pa.; three brothers, Glenn Zarfos of New Cumberland, W.Va., Donald Zarfos of Red Lion and Randall Zarfos of Indiana; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert E. Steinke will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
Friends may call at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, today from noon to 9 p.m.

James O. McCanner
FREDERICK, Md. - James Owen "Buck" McCanner, 81, of 402 W. Second St., died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick.
Born June 11, 1916, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Arthur Thomas and Henrietta Katherine Sherald McCanner.
He had been employed by Everedy Co. for 30 years as personnel and safety director.
He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ.
He was a member of Columbia Lodge 58 AF&AM for 50 years; 32nd degree member of Chesapeake Consistory Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry; and Frederick Forest 132 Tall Cedars of Lebanon.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy McLaren McCanner, whom he married March 1, 1937; one daughter, Sally Jo McCanner of Bon Aqua, Tenn.; one son, Thomas O. McCanner of Frederick; and two grandchildren.
Private services will be held. The Rev. Joseph R. Foster will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

F. Elizabeth G. Conrad
F. Elizabeth G. Conrad, 84, of 1304 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, and formerly of 12 S. Walnut St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997, at Coffman Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 16, 1912, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Walter and Minnie Lee Hartley McClain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvine L. Conrad, who died in 1994.
She was retired from Eyerly's Department Store.
She was a member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas I. Conrad of Hagerstown and Joseph H. Doyle of Mt. Airy; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be today at 2 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Harold P. Atkins will officiate.
