Margaret R. Spring
BOONSBORO - Margaret Ruth "Peggy" Spring, 45, of 8450 Tusings Way, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Dec. 7, 1951, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Claude Burch Sr. and Annie Catherine Karr Herrell.
She was employed as a cashier by McDonald's, Sharpsburg Pike, Hagerstown.
She was a member of Greenbriar Baptist Church, Hagerstown.
She was a member of Potomac Post No. 202 American Legion Auxiliary, Williamsport; Red Feather Council No. 59 Degree of Pocohontas, Williamsport; Loyal Order of Moose, Chambersburg, Pa.; and Washington County Community Action Council.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Ralph Spring of Boonsboro; one daughter, Tanya Corvia of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sons, Richard Corvia of Hagerstown and Travis Corvia of Ocala, Fla.; two sisters, Carol Ann Williams of New Liberia, La., and Jamie Lynn Herrell of Ocala; one brother, Claude B. Herrell Jr.; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. David L. Coblentz will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Frederick, Md.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open Monday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.
Anne K. Fales
MARIETTA, Ga. - Anne K. Fales, 61, of Marietta, died Monday, Aug. 18, 1997, at her home.
Born in Shenandoah, Va., she was the daughter of the late Corella Kibbler.
She had been a resident of Marietta since 1966.
She retired in May 1991 after working several years for Bell South Telephone, Chamblee office.
She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Marietta.
She was a member of Kennestone Hospital Volunteers, Marietta; and Telephone Pioneers of America.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, M. Clark Fales of Marietta; four sons, Milo C. Fales III, Brad Fales Sr. and Kevin Fales, all of Marietta, and Kurt Fales of Kennesaw, Ga.; three sisters, Pat Seville of Hagerstown and Phillis Campbell and Bonnie Algier, both of Shenandoah, Va.; four grandchildren; one niece; and three nephews.
Services were Friday, Aug. 22 at Medford-Peden Funeral Home, Marietta. Burial was in Kennesaw Memorial Park, Marietta.

James F. Johnson
DARKESVILLE, W.Va. - James F. Johnson, 73, of Darkesville, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997, at his home.
Born Feb. 4, 1924, in Gerrardstown, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lewis and Mary Bird Johnson.
He was retired from Corning Glass Works.
He was a member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church, Gerrardstown.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Parker Johnson, at home; two daughters, Linda Davis of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Brenda Mike of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; one son, Mark L. Johnson of Martinsburg; one brother, Charles Johnson of Martinsburg; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Johnson.
Services will be Sunday at 3:15 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Alfred E. Statesman will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. The family will meet at the residence in Darkesville Sunday at 2:30 p.m. before going to the funeral home.
Donald L. Viands
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Donald LaMar Viands, 57, of Charles Town, died Friday, Aug. 29, 1997, at his home.
Born March 8, 1940, in Engle, W.Va., he was the son of the late Winstead L. Viands and Edna R. Engle Viands.
He attended Charles Town High School.
He retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education in May 1995 after 15 years of service. He was previously employed by Kisner Plumbing and Heating and Shenandoah Air Conditioning.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 948, Charles Town.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sara L. Weisenburg, at home; two daughters, Gayla S. Lewis of Swanton, Md., and Lynette R. Viands of Charles Town; one son, Darrell L. Viands of Charles Town; one sister, Geneva Hollida of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Winstead Lee Viands of Charles Town and Emory Viands of Hedgesville, W.Va.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home Inc., Charles Town. The Rev. Ernest Lyles will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Dorothy L. Kranenberg
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Dorothy "Dottie" Louise Kranenberg, 73, of 404 Dogwood Court, died Friday, Aug. 29, 1997, at her home.
Born May 15, 1924, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Elzie D. Shackelford and Ada Martin Shackelford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Kranenberg, who died in 1986.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Mihalas of Baltimore and Marie Collis of Hagerstown; one brother, John L. Shackelford of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Pierce, Eva Parker and Shirley Penwell; and two brothers, James C. Shackelford and Frank Shackelford.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry, W.Va. The Rev. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Bunker Hill, W.Va.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Wilbur R. Grimm Sr.
Wilbur Richard "Pee Wee' Grimm Sr., 72, of 11311 Lakeside Drive, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Nov. 16, 1924, in Trego, Md., he was the son of Edna M. Danner of Boonsboro and the late Wilbur Milton Grimm.
He retired in 1985 from Richard F. Kline Inc., Frederick, Md.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre. He was taken prisoner of war in Germany and received the Purple Heart.
He was a member of Williamsport Post No. 202 American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Juanita V. Frazier Grimm, whom he married March 27, 1948; three daughters, Rebecca Hartman of Mercersburg, Pa., Patricia Shank of Winchester, Va., and Sherri Breeden of State Line, Pa.; two sons, Wilbur R. Grimm Jr. of Ontario, Calif., and Wayne S. Grimm Sr. of Fairplay; three sisters, Margaret Rohrer of Sharpsburg, Pauline Higdon of Falls Church, Va., and Delores Duncan of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Herbert Grimm of Thurmont, Md., and James Smith of Smithsburg; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. George Lashley, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open Monday after 4 p.m.
Christine V. Eversole
Christine Virginia Eversole, 77 of 7 E. Washington, St., Hagerstown, died Friday, Aug. 29, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 8, 1919, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Clementine Croft Voleneck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil L. Eversole.
She was employed as a care giver.
She attended Peoples Gospel Tabernacle.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign War 1936.
She is survived by one sister, Elva J. Cosens of Hagerstown; three brothers, Frank Voleneck and Raymond Voleneck, both of Hagerstown and Russell Voleneck of Boonsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Russell E. Huffman will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Esther S. Brake
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Esther S. Brake, 97, of 7100 Renninger Road, Mercersburg, died Friday, Aug. 29, 1997, at Manor Care Health Services, Chambersburg, Pa.
She had been a guest at the home for one month.
Born March 12, 1900, in Peters Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Cyrus Calvin and Anna Mae Bear Stuff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Luther Brake, who died April 10, 1975.
She was a lifetime resident of the Upton, Pa., area.
She was a graduate of Chambersburg High School and was a 1923 graduate of Shippensburg Normal School (now Shippensburg University).
She was a homemaker and had taught in several local schools.
She was a life member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Upton, where she was a member of Women of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
She was a member of Deitrich-Brechbill American Legion Auxiliary, St. Thomas, Pa., for 61 years; Franklin County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; life member of Lutheran Home Auxiliary; Franklin County Retired Teachers Association; Lemasters Homemakers; and National AARP.
She is survived by one daughter, Sara E. Miller of Libertyville, Ill.; two sons, Edward W. Brake and John C. Brake, both of Mercersburg; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; and two brothers.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 8835 Lemar Road, Greencastle, Pa. The Rev. Alan R. Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas.
Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle.

June L.F. Goodwin
June L. Fazenbaker Goodwin, 63, of Hagerstown, died Friday, Aug. 29, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1934, at Westernport, Md., she was the daughter of Robert L. Fazenbaker of Cresaptown, Md., and the late Catherine Brennan Fazenbaker.
She was a former teacher's aide in Washington County.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald C. Goodwin at home; one daughter, Rachael Goodwin of Hagerstown; one son, Randall Goodwin of Hagerstown; three brothers, Robert Fazenbaker Jr. and Paul Fazenbaker, both of Lonaconing, Md., and Wheeler Fazenbaker of New Jersey; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lorna Goodwin; and one son, Ronald Goodwin.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, 8 E. Main St., Lonaconing. The Rev. Richard Mortimore will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park, LaVale, Md.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
